Abstract

The mounting device (1) includes a lifting mechanism (4) and at least one clamping clamp (2) for removably attaching the mounting device (1) to the conveyor leg, and the clamping clamp (2) includes a closure (3) for gripping the conveyor leg with the clamping clamp (2). The lifting mechanism (4) includes a retractable base (5) for supporting the roller, a housing (9) and a threaded rod (8). The retractable base (5) is slidably mounted in the housing (9) and the threaded rod (8) is rotatably and non-slidably mounted relative to the base (5). The housing (9) includes an internal thread in which the threaded rod (8) is mounted, the housing (9) being mounted to the clamping clamp (2). The lower end of the threaded rod (8) is provided with an adapter (10) for mounting a tightening tool. The method of handling a conveyor roller includes the phase of installing the assembly fixture (1) on the conveyor leg and the phase of taking the roller under and removing the roller from the recess in the conveyor leg.
