Electro-optical device, method of driving electro-optical device, and electronic apparatus

The invention provides an electro-optical device that stabilizes display quality by performing correction processing corresponding to a plurality of disturbance factors. Specifically, a grayscale characteristic generating unit can generate conversion data having grayscale characteristics obtained by changing the grayscale characteristics of display data that defines the grayscales of pixels with reference to a conversion table whose description contents include correction factors. A data line driving circuit can drive the pixels after correcting the grayscale characteristics of the conversion data by the correction factors using other processing different from the that performed by the grayscale characteristic generating unit.

Universal sliding rail assembly for rack mounting computers

A sliding rail assembly adjusts and adapts to fit various racks. An adjustable mounting flange on an end of the rail assembly translates along the axis of the rail so that the length of the rail assembly adjusts to fit racks having various depths. Hooks on the rail assembly may be used to hang the rail assembly on the rack while the rail assembly is being installed therein. The hooks are removable so that the rail assembly will fit racks having narrow widths. Mounting adapters enable the mounting flanges to mate with corner posts having round holes as well as those having square holes. Securing tabs engage front corner posts of the rack to prevent the rail and the computer enclosure from sliding out. To accommodate racks having various depths, the securing tabs may be mounted at more than one location on the side of the computer enclosure.

Composite fastener, belly nut, tie system and/or method for reducing heat transfer through a building envelope

A composite fastener, a belly nut, a tie system and / or a method reduce heat transfer through a building envelope. The composite fastener, the belly nut, the tie system and / or the method secure a wall to a backup structure. The composite fastener is constructed from a fiber reinforced polymer that has fibers embedded in a polymeric matrix. The composite fastener has a low thermal conductive value (k-value) and has non-corrosive properties. The belly nut has a fastening hole on a first side of the belly nut to attach the composite fastener to the belly nut. Further, the belly nut has a pathway to receive a leg of a pintle from a top surface of the belly nut to a bottom surface of the belly nut. The pathway is sized to allow for greater vertical adjustment eccentricity between the belly nut and the pintle without creating large horizontal deflections of the tie system.

Alignment washer

InactiveUS20060088398A1WashersNutsEngineeringFastener
The present invention is an offset washer assembly for use with a fastener (i.e., a bolt, cotter pin, etc.). The washer comprises an inner washer and an outer washer. The inner washer includes a first hole therein adapted to receive the fastener. The first hole passes through the inner washer such that the center point of the first hole is offset from a center point of the inner washer. The outer washer includes a second hole therein adapted to receive the inner washer. The second hole passes through the outer washer such that the center point of the second hole is offset from a center point of the outer washer. The inner washer is movable within the second hole to adjust an amount of offset between the longitudinal axis of the fastener and the center point of the outer washer. The outer washer is movable relative to equipment to be secured by the fastener to adjust the location of the second hole relative to the equipment.

Power tool for fastening objects

A power tool for fastening objects has a housing with a non-rotatable element, a power drive in the housing and provided with a rotatable driving element, and a fastener part including a bolt having a thread and an axis and introducable into parts forming an object, a nut screwable on the bolt and cooperating with the rotatable driving element, and a washer to be applied between the nut and an object and cooperating with the non-rotatable element, the washer having an axis and being provided with a first bearing face surface located at one axial side and adapted to cooperate with the nut, a second bearing face surface located at an opposite axial side and adapted to cooperate with the object, and at least one third turning resistant surface adapted to cooperate with the thread of the bolt, so that when driving element turns the nut with a given active force in one direction and the washer is held stationarily applied by the non-rotatable element of the housing, the nut turns to tighten or loosen the bolt, and the washer remains rotation stationary while the bolt elongates or relaxes in an axial direction.

Deforming member and captive fastener retaining method

A fastener is retained within an opening of a workpiece by deforming a portion of an edge of the opening inwardly to prevent removal of the fastener. A deforming member associated with a head of the fastener includes a body having a clamping surface extending radially form a central axis. A wedge-like deforming element has a deforming member and having a deforming face angled axially and radially outward from the clamping surface. The deforming element, when pressed against a malleable edge of the workpiece, deforms at least a portion of the edge into the fastener opening thereby creating a stop which reduces the diameter of the opening and mechanically retains the fastener therein. The deforming member may be formed as a separate washer assembled on the fastener or may be made integral with the fastener head.

Screw mechanism

In a screw locking assembly a pair of washers having inclined surfaces are interposed between a screw member on a tightening side and a member to be tightened, with the inclined surfaces being mutually contacted. These inclined surfaces circle around once in spiral form with a lead angle β smaller than a lead angle α of the screw, and both ends thereof are connected with a tier face in the axial direction. By conducting an initial-tightening in a state with an interval of a preset angle maintained between the tier faces, and tightening and rotating the screw member on the tightening side until the tier faces come into contact with each other, a tightening force proportional to that angle is generated, and the tightening force is controlled surely with precision.

Fastener and method of operation thereof for installing a thin layer of material at an adjustable distance from a support

A fastener has a screw with an anchor located thereon, the anchor being spaced apart from the head. The anchor has a cut-away portion with a leading edge and a trailing edge of the cut-away portion angling downward. The leading edge angles downward a further distance than the trailing edge. The anchor is spaced apart from the head by a distance corresponding to a thickness of a layer of material to be affixed to a support by an adjustable distance. The layer of material has a small opening therein to accommodate the screw. When the screw is inserted through the opening and into the support, the anchor turns through the opening, even though the opening is smaller than the anchor so that the material is located between the anchor and the head. The screw can then be turned further into the support or further out of the support to adjust the distance between the material and the support in order to align the material as desired.
