Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a camping vehicle, in particular a mobile home, a caravan or a camper van with a furniture arrangement in a living area and a storage space located below at least part of the furniture arrangement and separated from the living area by a wall structure.
[0002] In recreational vehicles, such as motorhomes or caravans, it is common to provide storage compartments that can be loaded from the outside through an opening hatch on the vehicle. Such storage compartments are often used as a type of garage to accommodate bicycles, mopeds, or other bulky items such as a camping table and chairs. To accommodate this, the corresponding storage compartments must always have a certain height so that, for example, a bicycle can be pushed inside. However, this often comes at the expense of the available living space in the recreational vehicle.
[0003] A storage space is known from the prior art, for example from DE 100 09 575 A1, which can be temporarily integrated, in whole or in part, into the interior of a camper van used for living purposes. This is achieved by at least one of the walls separating the storage space from the interior being at least partially removable, thus freeing up the storage space for use in the living area.
[0004] DE 101 04 529 A1 describes a motorhome with a chassis and a box-like body, the interior of which can be accessed by one person on a first floor surface. The body has a roof that is height-adjustable relative to the first floor surface. Several lifting devices are arranged between a lower section and the roof, by means of which the roof as a whole can be raised and lowered in a translational manner.
[0005] DE 296 02 640 U1 describes a rear compartment cover for motorhomes with a height-adjustable support device. Viewed in the vehicle's longitudinal direction, a height support for the rear compartment cover is provided that can be adjusted to at least two height positions.
[0006] EP 2 093 103 A1 describes a recreational vehicle with a variable volume cell with a dome that can be moved vertically between a lower position and a raised position.
[0007] The disadvantage of conventional storage space designs is that they often impose significant limitations on the interior design of the living area, as, for example, seating or reclining furniture, or even a closet, can only be arranged to a limited extent within the storage area. However, especially in camper vans, there is a growing desire to provide greater living comfort, which is primarily achieved through comfortable furnishings and furniture arrangements.
[0008] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a large storage space for a camping vehicle, which is suitable, if necessary, for example, for accommodating bicycles, mopeds or the like, without having to accept significant restrictions in the interior fittings when the camping vehicle is used as a living space.
[0009] According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing part of patent claim 1, starting from the preamble of patent claim 1. Advantageous further developments and expedient embodiments are specified in the dependent patent claims.
[0010] In the camping vehicle according to the invention, in particular a mobile home, caravan or camper van, a furniture arrangement, in particular longitudinal benches, transverse benches and / or a circular seating group, is provided in a living area, wherein below at least part of the furniture arrangement there is a storage space separated from the living area by a wall structure, said storage space having a storage floor, storage walls and at least one storage hatch and a storage roof, and wherein the storage roof can be used at least in part as a seating area, in particular forming part of a seating area of the furniture arrangement. According to the invention, the storage space is characterized in that the storage roof can be raised into the living area by lifting means in order to increase the storage space.
[0011] When the camper is in living mode, the storage roof is usually lowered so that it is at the same height as a seat. This allows the storage roof to be conveniently integrated into a round seating area, for example, since bicycles or similar items stored in the storage space during living mode can usually be kept outside the camper. When the vehicle is in transport mode, the storage roof is raised into the living area using the provided lifting devices, significantly increasing the storage space to accommodate corresponding items. The storage roof is no longer available as a seat, as it is raised upwards within the vehicle's interior.
[0012] The invention is not limited to the use of the inventive concept in a circular seating group. In principle, the inventive concept can also be applied to longitudinal benches, transverse benches, and other types of furniture arrangements arranged in a suitable position that provides access to high storage space.
[0013] In an expedient development of the camping vehicle according to the invention, at least one storage compartment wall is designed in multiple layers, in particular two or three layers. A first layer located inside the storage compartment is connected to the storage compartment floor, a second layer located outside the storage compartment is connected to the storage compartment roof, and preferably a third layer located further outside the storage compartment and anchored in the living area is provided. The second layer connected to the storage compartment roof is at least partially guided between the first and third layers.
[0014] The inventive sandwich-like construction of three wall layers, the middle of which is connected to the raised storage roof, creates a pleasing visual appearance in both the storage and living areas. Furthermore, problems caused by wall surfaces that slide over one another are avoided, preventing objects from getting caught, blocked, or body parts from getting trapped.
[0015] In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the storage space roof is guided along at least one side edge in a sliding manner past an outer wall of the camping vehicle, wherein preferably friction-preventing guide means such as brush attachments, rail or roller guides or the like are provided on at least one side edge.
[0016] The storage roof, which is moved to raise and lower, slides along the inside of an exterior wall of the camper van without causing significant frictional resistance, such as against a tapestry. However, it is essential that no objects can become trapped in the sliding area, as this could undoubtedly lead to malfunctions or even failure. Appropriate anti-friction guides ensure this.
[0017] In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the storage compartment roof is raised via a pivoting movement. This can be achieved using a type of toggle joint or scissor joint, and the storage compartment roof can be raised via a radial pivoting movement from a lower first position to an upper second position, similar to what is already practiced, for example, in alcove roofs in known camper vans.
[0018] In a further practical embodiment, the storage space roof is raised via a linear movement.
[0019] The linear lifting of the storage roof via a linear movement offers the advantage that only the alignment of the lifting movement of the storage roof needs to be kept free of furnishings inside the living area, and no additional free space needs to be provided for further movement sequences.
[0020] In a further expedient embodiment of the camping vehicle according to the invention, it is further provided that the storage space roof is raised via at least one linear lifting device, in particular via at least one hydraulic lifting cylinder or at least one threaded spindle.
[0021] Linear lifting devices, such as hydraulic lifting cylinders or threaded spindles with guide carriages running on them, offer the advantage that, thanks to their appropriate gear ratio, they are suitable for exerting sufficient lifting forces on the storage compartment roof with a correspondingly slow lifting movement, allowing cushions or other objects lying on it to be lifted without any problems. Furthermore, such components enable extensive automation. Furthermore, their longitudinal shape allows for compact installation and thus easy integration into a camper van.
[0022] In a further expedient embodiment of the camping vehicle according to the invention, it is provided that a manual device for actuating the lifting means, in particular a crank or the like and / or an electrical device for actuating the lifting means, in particular an electric motor or an electric compressor, is provided.
[0023] Where possible, the camping vehicle according to the invention will be provided with an automated lifting device as the lifting means. However, it is possible that manual lifting movements may be necessary due to a technical defect or insufficient electrical power. In this way, the corresponding lifting devices can also be operated using manual devices of the type mentioned above.
[0024] In a further expedient embodiment of the camping vehicle according to the invention, it is provided that the storage space roof in the interior can be used as a seating area and, when raised, as a lying area, in particular as a loft bed.
[0025] The use as a seat in a first lower position and the use as a loft bed in a second upper position offer various possibilities for the interior use of the living area, so that, for example, leaving the storage roof permanently in the second upper position also represents an alternative use when camping.
[0026] A further expedient embodiment is characterized in that the storage space roof comprises at least one, preferably two attached side walls and an attached rear wall, which together with the storage space roof form a transverse bench in the rear area of a camping vehicle, wherein the transverse bench can be raised completely into the living area and preferably at least partially covers at least one outside window in the raised state with at least one side wall and / or the rear wall.
[0027] If the storage roof is designed according to the invention in the manner of a seat recess with arranged side walls and a rear wall or backrest, it is possible for the entire seat recess to be raised with the storage roof, making it suitable, for example, for concealing exterior windows. This can serve both as a darkening effect and as a visual barrier or as a burglar protection.
[0028] In a further expedient embodiment of the camping vehicle according to the invention, it is further provided that the storage space roof has means for securing the load attached thereto, in particular a load securing net, which secures the load components lying thereon against unwanted movement, in particular when the storage space roof is raised.
[0029] When the storage roof is raised, objects resting on it pose a hazard while driving, as they are now positioned at a higher level and could, for example, fly through the living area during braking. To prevent this, the camping vehicle according to the invention has load securing devices, which are arranged above the items to be stored, particularly when the storage roof is raised, and are firmly connected to the storage roof and / or surrounding fixed living area components.
[0030] The camping vehicle according to the invention will be explained in more detail in the following exemplary embodiment. However, the invention is not limited to the illustrated embodiment; rather, it encompasses all configurations that utilize the essential concept of the invention.
