Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a relay having a drive unit, an opener and a closer, wherein the drive unit has an electromagnet having a coil body and an armature which can be moved by energizing the electromagnet, wherein the opener has an opener contact spring and the closer has a closer contact spring, and wherein the electromagnet, the closer and the opener each have two electrical connections, which are all arranged in a plane.Such relays are known and have the advantage that they can be formed narrow compared to relays with connecting pins arranged in several planes and thus multi-row connecting pins. Such narrow, single-row relays are used in particular to enable compact mounting on printed circuit boards. In this case, the relay can be mounted as desired in a vertical manner, but also lying flat, it then being possible for the electrical connections which are generally arranged laterally to be placed on electrical contacts of the printed circuit board and soldered to them.Due to such a compact configuration, safety risks can arise, for example because the creepage distances can be shorter than in the case of multi-row relays of wider design, so that the risk of voltage breakdowns should be counteracted to a particular extent.DE 198 47 831 A1 discloses a relay having at least one normally open contact spring pair and at least one normally open contact spring pair, wherein an actuating slide is formed which is movable parallel to a base plane and engages each active contact spring in the vicinity of the contact piece.DE 197 32 695 A1 discloses an electromagnetic relay arrangement having at least one switch unit with a switch housing which has a switch arrangement. The switch housing has an apertured central partition dividing the interior of the switch housing into front and rear chambers. The invention is based on the object of implementing safety functions in a relay of the type described at the beginning. To achieve this object, the invention proposes the features of claim 1. In particular, it is thus proposed according to the invention in a relay of the type described at the beginning for achieving the stated object that the normally open contact spring and the normally open contact spring can be moved in a positively guided manner by an actuating element which can be displaced along a longitudinal axis of the coil body. The positive guidance has the effect that the opener and the closer can never be closed simultaneously. This has the advantage, for example, that an opening failure of the closer can be reliably detected. The term "open failure" is used here to refer to the situation in which a switching element, such as in particular the closer, does not open contrary to expectation. This malfunction can be recognized by the opener by the positive guidance, which likewise does not switch contrary to expectation.By virtue of the inventive positive guidance of opener and closer, safety functions of a relay are thus realized.According to the invention, it is provided that the relay has a drive unit which has an electromagnet having a coil body and an armature which can be moved by energizing the electromagnet. A coil is wound around the coil body. If this coil is energized, the electromagnet develops a force effect which acts on the armature, so that the latter is moved out of a rest position, depending on the specific configuration, also counter to a mechanical spring force acting on the armature.Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention that the relay has an opener and a closer. Openers, shutters and electromagnets can be operated at different electrical potentials, for example, by electrically separating these components from one another with the highest possible insulation level.Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention that the electromagnet, the opener and the closer each have two electrical connections. The electrical connections of the electromagnet can be connectable to a power source. They can serve to supply the electromagnet with electrical current. The electrical connections of the opener and of the closer can each serve for the integration of these components into a circuit, so that the opener and the closer can fulfil the function of switches.Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention that the electrical connections of the electromagnet, of the opener and of the closer are all arranged in one plane. It can also be said that the electrical connections of the electromagnet, the opener and the closer are all arranged in a row. The electrical connections mentioned are thus formed in a single row.According to the invention, it is further provided that the closer contact spring and the opener contact spring are positively movable by an actuating element displaceable along a longitudinal axis of the coil body. It can also be said that the closer contact spring and the opener contact spring are positively movable by an actuating element displaceable along a longitudinal extension of the coil body. In order to achieve this, it can be provided that the normally open contact spring and / or the normally open contact spring and / or the armature are each mechanically connected to the actuating element. This can mean that the armature has a first position and a second position and / or that the closer contact spring and the opener contact spring are mechanically connected to the armature via an actuating element displaceable with respect to the electromagnet in such a way that, in the first position of the armature, the closer is electrically disconnected and the opener is electrically closed and, in the second position of the armature, the closer is electrically closed and the opener is electrically disconnected. In an advantageous embodiment of the relay according to the invention, it can be provided that the relay has a drive chamber into which the drive unit is inserted. Alternatively or additionally, it can be provided that the relay has an opener contact chamber into which the opener is inserted. Furthermore, it can alternatively or additionally be provided that the relay has a normally open contact chamber into which the normally open contact is inserted. The presence of chambers may be advantageous since this may improve the dielectric strength of the relay. The chambers can namely lead to an increase in the creepage distances between the closer, opener and / or drive unit. Thus, an improved spatial separation of opener, closer and / or drive unit can be achieved. In order to lengthen the creepage paths or to be able to design the relay shorter with the same dielectric strength, it can be provided in a further advantageous embodiment of the relay according to the invention that at least one separating wall is formed in the relay, which separating chambers of the relay from one another. Such chambers can comprise, for example, the drive chamber, the opener contact chamber and / or the closer contact chamber. It can be particularly advantageous if two separating walls are formed which separate the drive chamber, the opener contact chamber and the closer contact chamber from one another. In a further embodiment of the relay according to the invention, it can be provided that an interior space is formed which is formed by a contact block carrying the drive unit, the closer and the opener and a hood part. Alternatively or additionally, it can be provided that an outer space is formed into which the electrical connections project. Such relays can be advantageous, for example because the assembly of the relay from the hood part and contact block makes it possible to check a functional relay without the hood part having to be placed on. The hood part can serve, for example, to protect the relay. It can also be removable, for example, in order to eliminate a fault function of the relay. To achieve a high protection class, the hood part can also be cast. It can be particularly advantageous if chambers, for example the drive chamber already mentioned, opener contact chamber and the closer contact chamber, form the interior.According to the invention, it is provided that the drive unit can be inserted into a contact block from a different direction, for example the already mentioned contact block, than the closer and / or the opener. The drive unit can be used according to the invention from a narrow side of the relay. In addition, the drive unit can also be used, for example, from an opposite side. It can be particularly advantageous if the drive chamber and the closer contact chamber are open towards opposite sides of the contact block. This can be advantageous since the creepage distances between the drive unit and the closer and / or the opener can hereby be large enough, despite the narrow construction, to avoid a voltage breakdown even at higher operating voltages. In a further advantageous embodiment of the relay according to the invention, it can be provided that the opener and the closer can be inserted into the contact block from a common side of a contact block, for example the already mentioned contact block. This can have the advantage, for example, that the construction of the relay is simplified because in this way the relay can be equipped with the normally open contact and normally closed contact in a common operating step.In a further embodiment, it can be provided that the actuating element is guided past the electromagnet. This can make it possible for the terminals of the closer to be as far away as possible from the terminals of the drive unit and / or of the opener. This can be advantageous since the closer is usually operated at a higher voltage than the opener and the drive unit, so that the largest possible creepage distance to the closer can be of decisive importance for the dielectric strength. Accordingly, an embodiment may provide advantages in which it is provided that alternatively or additionally the closer is arranged on a side of the drive unit, for example the side already mentioned, facing away from the armature.Furthermore, an embodiment may be advantageous in which it is provided that the opener and the closer are arranged on the same side of the drive unit.In order to achieve an improved electrical separation of the closer and opener and thus an increased dielectric strength, it can be provided that the drive unit is arranged between the opener and the closer. The increased voltage withstand capability can also be used to construct shorter relays.Embodiments according to the invention can provide that the contact block has an S-shaped, E-shaped or double-U-shaped cross section. The type of shape can depend on which side and in which sequence components such as in particular the closer, the opener or the drive unit can be inserted into the contact block. The mold can be formed more clearly, in particular, by using partitions. In order to achieve a particularly secure positive guidance, it can be provided that the actuating element is stiffened in the longitudinal section following the coil body. This purpose can also be served by a configuration in which it is alternatively or additionally provided that the actuating element is formed with a U-, H- or T-shaped cross section. This makes it possible to form guide surfaces on the actuating element, which guide surfaces can serve for secure guidance of the actuating element. It can therefore be particularly advantageous if a wall of the relay that is located laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis of the coil body serves as a stabilizing element and / or as a guide element for the actuating element. In a further advantageous embodiment of the relay according to the invention, it can be provided that the actuating element engages below a contact head of the normally open contact spring. Alternatively or additionally, it can be provided that the actuating element engages above a contact head of the opener contact spring. These different engagement positions of the actuating element on the opener and the closer can be useful for a safe switching and / or a favorable response behavior of the relay. It is to be noted that the opener is opened in time before the closer closes. Since the air gap between the armature and the yoke is initially large when the relay is actuated, the initial development of force is also small. At this time, however, despite the slight development of force, the opener must be opened against its counterforce which holds it in the closed state. To achieve this, a large lever is advantageous. A large lever can be reached if the actuating element engages above the contact head. It is also possible in this way for the opener to be switchable particularly soft when the actuation force is low. The striker behaves exactly the other way round. Here, the closer is acted upon at a point in time at which the drive unit can already develop a high tightening force, since the remaining air gap between the armature and the yoke or the core is already small. A small lever can therefore be advantageous, which can be achieved if the actuating element engages below the contact head. In this case, with a predetermined adjustment length of the actuating element, sufficient follow-up can also be achieved in order to press the contact heads of the closer firmly against one another. In order to ensure reliable electrical connectivity, it can be provided in a further advantageous embodiment of the relay according to the invention that the electrical connections form connecting pins. It can be particularly advantageous if the connecting pins project into an outer space of the relay, for example into the outer space already mentioned. In order to achieve the smallest possible overall length, it can be provided that the electrical connections of the drive unit are formed in a section of the longitudinal axis of the coil body which is given by an extension of the coil body. The electrical connections are preferably formed at a height of the armature or at least on the armature side. The advantages can also exist if it is provided that the electrical terminals of the drive unit are arranged on the outside center or asymmetrically with respect to a section of the longitudinal axis of the coil body that is defined by a or the extent of the coil body, for example with respect to the section already mentioned. It can be particularly advantageous if the electrical connections are arranged on a side facing the opener and / or facing away from the closer. In order to simplify the production of the relay, it can be provided that the electrical connections of the drive unit are arranged pivotably. In this case, the electrical connections can namely be pivoted into the axial region of the drive unit after completion of the winding process of the coil. It can be particularly advantageous if a holding element, which holds the electrical connections of the drive unit, which are designed as connecting pins, is pivotably articulated on the coil carrier via a hinge. The hinge is preferably a film hinge or a film hinge. This allows favorable production and can also be advantageous, for example, if the coil body is manufactured, as usual, from a non-conductive material, for example from a plastic. The holding element can be designed, for example, in such a way that the connecting pins can be pressed into the holding element from the side and / or can be cast into the holding element. For fixing, it can be provided that a holding element which holds the electrical connections of the drive unit, which are designed as connecting pins, for example the holding element already mentioned, can be fastened to the coil carrier and / or to a yoke of the electromagnet. This can be done, for example, by means of a snap connection or a snap connection. These connections are preferably formed by a latching tongue. The connections and / or the latching tongue can be manufactured, for example, from the material from which a restoring spring of the armature is formed. The holding element can be fastened in particular to an edge of the yoke and / or of the coil carrier. It can furthermore be provided that the plane is formed by a narrow side of a contact block, for example the already mentioned contact block. Alternatively, it can be provided that the plane runs parallel to a side plane which is formed by a narrow side of one or of the contact block. This allows, for example, a suitable mounting on printed circuit boards. In order to achieve the most reliable positive guidance possible, it can furthermore be provided that the closer contact spring and / or the opener contact spring is / are arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the coil body. The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to a few exemplary embodiments, but is not limited to these few exemplary embodiments. FIG. 2 ) mechanically connecting the drive unit 2 to the opener 3 and the closer 4.The drive unit 2 has an electromagnet 6, with which a movable armature 7 can be actuated. For this purpose, the electrical connections 10 designed as connecting pins 28 are connected to a switchable current source. The terminal pins 28 are electrically connected to different ends of a coil 34. The coil 34 is wound onto a coil body 5, the individual coil windings not being shown in the drawings. The coil body 5 has a channel 38 through which a core 35 made of ferromagnetic material can be slid. The core 35 is inserted into a core receiving window 37 of a yoke 33 by a core shaft 36 and riveted in the yoke 33. To this yoke 33, the armature 7 is movably connected by means of an armature return spring 39. For this purpose, the armature 7 is inserted into a first leg 41 of the armature return spring 39 having two spring arms 40. The second leg 42 of the armature return spring 39 is fastened to the yoke 33 via armature clamps 43 in such a way that the yoke pole face 44 of the yoke 33 bears against the lower end of the armature 7, wherein at most a very narrow yoke-armature air gap 45 can be formed. The core 35 also has a core pole face 46, and a core-armature air gap 47 can be formed between this core pole face 46 and the armature 7, the width of said gap depending on the position of the armature 7. In the non-energized state, the core-armature air gap 47 is the largest as a result of the restoring force of the armature restoring spring 39. When the coil 34 is energized, an electromagnetic force acts between the core pole face 46 and the armature 7, wherein this force attracts the armature 7 against the spring force under operating voltage. This results in a movement of the armature 7, as a result of which its armature actuating nose 48 is also displaced in the horizontal direction. If the coil current is switched off again, the spring force of the armature return spring 39 drives the armature 7 and its armature actuating nose 48 back into the starting position again. By means of this mechanism, the armature actuating nose 48 can be displaced in a controlled manner by means of the drive unit 2.The drive unit 2 has, among other things, the special feature that a holding element 29 is connected on the coil body 5 via a hinge 30 designed as a film hinge 31 such that it can be pivoted up to an angle of 90°. In an alternative exemplary embodiment, the swivel angle can also be greater, for example the swivel angle can also be 180°. The connecting pins 28 can be pressed into the holding element 29 and also pressed in the position of use. To use the drive unit 2, the coil 34 is first wound up and the connecting pins 28 are pressed into the folded-out holding element 29. In a subsequent step, the holding element 29 is pivoted around and then fixed to the yoke 33 by means of a latching connection 32. In order to achieve this, a latching element 49 forming a latching tongue is formed on the armature return spring 39 fastened to the yoke 33, which latching element latches positively with a latching counter element 50 of the retaining element 29 when the retaining element 29 is folded over. The opener 3 has a movable and thus actively acting opener contact spring 8 and an immovable and thus merely passively acting counter-opener contact spring 51. Accordingly, the closer 4 is formed with a movable closer contact spring 9 and an immovable counter-closer contact spring 52. Both the normally open contact spring 9 and the normally open contact spring 8 are arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 11 of the coil body 5.Without the action of external forces, the contact head 27 of the opener contact spring 8 and the contact point 53 of the counter opener contact spring 51 touch each other. This is different for the closer 4. Here, in the basic state, the contact head 26 of the normally open contact spring 9 and the contact point 54 of the normally open contact spring 52 do not touch. The closer 4 is thus open. It can also be said that the closer 4 is disconnected in this case. The opener 3 has the property that it opens when the electromagnet 6 is energized, that is to say when the armature 7 is activated, while the closer 4 closes. In order to achieve this, a positive guide is provided in the relay 1. This is achieved by means of an actuating element 12.The embodiment of the actuating element 12 is shown in detail from different perspectives in FIG. 2. The actuating element 12 consists of a stiffened material and is thus stiffened in the position of use, in particular in the longitudinal section 22 following the coil body 5. It has an armature receiving window 55 on one side for receiving the armature actuating tab 48; in addition to the armature receiving window 55, an opener guide window 56 is arranged in the direction of the center of the actuating element 12, into which the tip 57 of the opener contact spring 8 can be inserted. On the other side of the actuating element 12, the latter is bent downward and, in the bent region 62, has, in the recessed position, a closer guide slot 58, into which the closer contact spring 9 is inserted in the use position. Thus, by means of the armature receiving window 55, the opener guide window 56 and the closer guide slot 58, the opener contact spring 8 and the closer contact spring 9 are coupled to a position and movement of the cam 7 and thus a forced guidance is achieved. In order to stabilize the guidance, the actuating element 12 has an H-shaped cross section, on the sides of which are guide surfaces 59 which can slide along the wall 23 of the contact block 19 and the hood part 20. The wall 23 thus simultaneously performs the function of a stabilizing element 24 and that of a guide element 25.It can be seen in particular from FIGS. 5 to 7 that the normally open guide slot 58 engages the normally open contact spring 9 below the contact head 26 of the normally open contact spring 9, while the normally open guide window 56 engages the tip 57 of the normally open contact spring 8 above the contact head 27 thereof. This has the effects already set forth above. Furthermore, the distance between the armature receiving window 55, the opener guide window and the closer guide slot 58 is selected such that, when the armature 7 is activated, the opener 3 opens in time before the closer 4 closes. This is of particular importance in connection with the forced guidance.A further characteristic of the relay 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 12 is its S-shape with contact chambers that can be fitted from different directions. This property is shown in particular in FIGS. 5, 6 and 8 in a well-recognizable manner. It can be seen from this that the relay 1 has three chambers 17, in the sequence of the opener contact chamber 14, the drive chamber 13, the closer contact chamber 15. The opener contact chamber 14 and the closer contact chamber 15 furthermore each have an intermediate separating wall 63. The contact block 19 is shaped in such a way that the opener 3 can be inserted into the opener contact chamber 14 from a narrow side 66 of the relay 1, which is opposite to the narrow side 66 of the relay 1, into which the closer 4 can be inserted into the closer contact chamber 15. The drive unit 2 can be inserted from the same narrow side 66 of the relay 1 as the opener 3.The position of the connecting pins 28 is also selected such that the normally higher-operating-voltage operated closer 4 is at the greatest possible distance from the other electrical components. The position of the connecting pins 28 can be clearly seen above all in FIGS. 3 to 7 and 9. The total of six connecting pins 28 are all arranged in one plane. This plane is formed by a narrow side 66 of the contact block 19. It can also be said that the pins 28 are all arranged in a row. The connecting pins 28 of the closer 4 and of the opener 3 are far from each other since they are arranged at opposite ends of the relay 1.In the exemplary embodiment, the connecting pins 28 of the drive unit 2 are also arranged in such a way that they are at a greater distance from the connecting pins 28 of the closer 4 than from the connecting pins 28 of the opener 3. This is achieved in that the connecting pins 28 of the drive unit 2 are not arranged centrally on the drive unit 2, but rather on the outside in the middle, on the armature side and in the direction of the opener 3. In order to lead the electrical connections 10 on a narrow side 66 of the contact block 19 into the outer region 21, the contact block 19 has on this narrow side 66 an aperture 64 divided by a separating wall 16 for the arrangement of the connecting pins 28 of the drive unit 2 and of the opener 3. The proximity to the opener 3 is unproblematic, since the coil 34 and opener 3 are generally acted upon with a low voltage, so that the risk of voltage breakdown is low. For this reason, it is also unproblematic for the opener 3 to be arranged close to the anchor 7. In contrast, the closer 4 is arranged on the side of the drive unit 2 facing away from the armature 7. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this is achieved in that the actuating element 12 is guided past above the electromagnet 6.FIG. 4 shows a bottom view of the relay 1 with possible mounting arrangements on printed circuit boards 60, 61 for butt-soldering the connection pins 28. An arrangement is shown in which the relay 1 is placed on the printed circuit board 60 on the outside of the connecting pins 28. The second arrangement shows a mounting in which the relay 1 is laid on the inner side of the terminal pins 28 on the circuit board 61.Figs. 13 to 17 show a second embodiment of a relay 1 according to the invention, which relay 1 is constructed from similar components as the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 12. Thus, the relay 1 also has, for example, a forced guidance of opener 3 and closer 4. However, unlike the relay 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 12, it has a double-U-shaped cross section and contact chambers that can be fitted from the same direction. The profile of the double-U-shaped cross section can be seen particularly well in FIG. 17. At the two ends of the contact block 19, its cross section is designed in each case in the form of a "U". The side walls of these U-shaped relay sections are formed on the one side by side walls 65 of the contact block 19 and on the opposite side by partition walls 16. the narrow sides 66 of the contact block 19 are formed on one side as in the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 12 and in FIGS. 18 to 22, wherein in the region of the U-shaped sections the narrow side 66 is formed on the underside of the U-shaped sections and in the region between the U-shaped sections on the upper side of the U-shaped sections. These two U-shaped sections of the relay 1 form the opener contact chamber 14 and the closer contact chamber 15. The middle section forms the drive chamber 13.FIGS. 18 to 22 show a third exemplary embodiment of a relay 1 according to the invention with positively guided contacts. Similar to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 12, the contact block 19 also has an S-shaped cross section in this embodiment. However, in contrast to the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 12, the contact chambers can be fitted from the same direction. Furthermore, the opener contact chamber 14 and the closer contact chamber 15 form adjacent chambers, wherein the opener 3 is arranged between the closer 4 and the drive unit 2. For the purpose of a dielectric strength which is as good as possible, the armature 7 and the connecting pins 28 of the drive unit 2 are arranged on the side of the drive unit 2 facing away from the opener 3 and the closer 4 at a lateral end of the relay 1.It is proposed, in a relay 1 with drive unit 2, opener 3 and closer 4, the electrical connections 10, 28 of which are all arranged in one plane, to realize a forced guidance by an actuating element 12 which is displaceable along a longitudinal axis 11 of the coil body 5.List of reference characters1 Relay 2 Drive unit 3 Opener 4 Closer 5 Coil body 6 Electromagnet 7 Armature 8 Opener contact spring 9 Closer contact spring 10 Electrical connection 11 Longitudinal axis of 5 12 Actuating element 13 Drive chamber 14 Opener contact chamber 15 Closer contact chamber 16 Partition wall 17 Chamber 18 Interior 19 Contact block 20 Hood part 21 Exterior space 22 Longitudinal section 23 Wall 24 Stabilizing element 25 Guide element 26 Contact head of 9 27 Contact head of 8 28 Terminal pin 29 Holding element 30 Hinge 31 Film hinge 32 Latching connection 33 Yoke 34 Coil 35 Core 36 Core shaft 37 Core receiving window 38 Channel 39 Armature reset spring 40 Spring arm 41 First leg of 39 42 Second leg of 39 43 Spring clip 44 Yoke pole surface 45 Yoke armature air gap 46 Core pole face 47 core-armature air gap 48 armature actuating tab 49 latching element 50 latching counter element 51 counter opener contact spring 52 counter closer contact spring 53 contact point of 51 54 contact point of 52 55 armature receiving window 56 opener guide window 57 tip of 8 58 closer guide slot 59 guide face 60 printed circuit board 61 printed circuit board 62 region of 12 63 intermediate separating wall 64 aperture 65 side wall 66 narrow side
