Description

Area of Revelation

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of liquid crystal display technologies, more particularly to an array substrate and a liquid crystal display device including the array substrate. State of the art

[0002] The currently predominant displays include flat panel displays, with the liquid crystal display device having been widely used in computer displays, mobile phones, personal digital assistants, flat panel TVs and other electronic products due to its light weight and thinness, low power consumption, zero radiation and other advantages.

[0003] To overcome the disadvantage of the narrow viewing angle of prior art liquid crystal display devices, some manufacturers have developed liquid crystal display devices with a wide viewing angle, and an in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display device is one of the best. Typically, an IPS liquid crystal display device includes upper and lower substrates arranged opposite each other, and a liquid crystal layer encapsulated between the two substrates. Gate lines, data lines, thin-film transistors, pixel electrodes, and common electrodes are arranged on the lower substrate. The IPS liquid crystal display device has the advantages of a wide viewing angle, high luminous efficiency, and high contrast because the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes are arranged on the same substrate, and the liquid crystal molecules are rotated in the same plane due to a transverse electric field parallel to the substrate between the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes.

[0004] However, in the prior art, when the liquid crystal display device is compressed, the arrangement and rotation of the liquid crystal molecules may be disturbed, and a displayed image may be distorted, which is referred to as "trace mura." To prevent the occurrence of trace mura, in the prior art, a plurality of common electrodes may be bent at both ends, while some of the common electrodes cannot be bent due to the limited distance between the common electrodes and the data lines. Furthermore, the distance between the bendable common electrodes and the data lines may be too large, so a large block of common electrodes overlying the bendable common electrodes and the data lines may impair the transmittance of the pixel elements and thus the display quality of the entire display device.

[0005] US 2012 / 0 218 501 A1 discloses an array substrate with a pixel electrode divided into several segments extending in different directions.

[0006] US 2010 / 0 157 228 A1 discloses a substrate structure in which each pixel electrode has a plurality of curved sections that divide the pixel electrode into six segments. The segments located at the ends of the pixel electrode are not parallel to each other and extend in different directions. Summary of Revelation
