Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a vehicle light, in particular a license plate light for the rear fairing of a motor vehicle, and to a component, such as a rear fairing, with a vehicle light, in particular a license plate light of a motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle with a component including a vehicle light.
[0002] Motor vehicles are required to have a license plate light which, when switched on, illuminates the license plate at the rear of the vehicle, especially in darkness, to make the license plate at the rear of the vehicle more visible.
[0003] License plate lights on older vehicles are known to be screwed to the rear of the vehicle, particularly to a rear panel or other attachment. It is also known that the license plate light is inserted into a recess and screwed in place. However, screwing them in has the disadvantage of being more time-consuming, as tightening multiple screws requires a certain minimum time that cannot be undercut. Furthermore, the necessary tools must be provided, which incurs costs.
[0004] However, if the license plate light is inserted into an opening in the rear fairing using retaining clips, a detrimental effect occurs due to the materials used. The rear fairing is typically made of a rather soft plastic, such as polypropylene (PP). The housing and retaining clips of license plate lights, on the other hand, are made of a rather hard plastic material, such as polycarbonate (PC). When the license plate light is inserted into the opening in the rear fairing and pressed in so that the retaining clips snap into place, pressure marks, such as notches, are created on the edge of the fairing opening. This is not only unsightly, but it also causes the retaining clips to disengage during, for example, pendulum tests, cornering, etc., and the license plate light to at least partially fall out of the opening, which should be avoided.
[0005] The 10 2014 116 751 A1 reveals a vehicle lighting arrangement with a flexible aperture.
[0006] DE 20 2004 011 851 U1 discloses a vehicle rear door with a frame, an outer trim part and a window, wherein the frame is glued onto an inner part.
[0007] The object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle light and a component with a vehicle light, as well as a motor vehicle with such a component with a vehicle light, which can be permanently and safely mounted or which allows for permanent and safe mounting.
[0008] The problem relating to the vehicle light is solved by the features of claim 1.
[0009] One embodiment of the invention relates to a vehicle light, in particular a license plate light, especially for a rear fairing of a motor vehicle, comprising a light housing with light sources arranged therein and a lateral first retaining device and a lateral second retaining device, wherein the first retaining device and the second retaining device are arranged on opposite sides of the light housing, wherein the first retaining device is a positive-locking retaining device for receiving a first opening edge and wherein the second retaining device is a snap-fit connection device with at least one snap hook, wherein a mounting aid element is further provided which is intended for lateral attachment to a second opening edge and has a mounting edge on which the second retaining device can be snapped. This allows the vehicle light to be installed in an opening of a component of a motor vehicle or similar. The installation process involves first inserting the mounting aid and sliding it onto an opening edge, then inserting the vehicle light into the opening, holding it securely against the first opening edge, and locking it into place on the mounting aid. This ensures secure installation without damaging the opening edge.
[0010] In one embodiment, it is advantageous for the mounting aid to have a U-shaped form with a receptacle for receiving the second opening edge. This allows the mounting aid to be slid laterally onto the second opening edge, for example, so that it can be attached there and support the luminaire housing without damaging the second opening edge.
[0011] It is also advantageous if the assembly aid has a first arm and a second arm that extend essentially parallel to each other, with the receptacle formed between the two arms and a locking device provided on one of the arms for locking onto a shoulder adjacent to the second opening edge. The assembly aid is then pushed over the second opening edge until it is locked and held in place at the shoulder on the second opening edge.
[0012] It is also advantageous if the mounting aid has a third arm extending in the opposite direction to the first and second arms, with the third arm forming the mounting edge. The third arm decouples the holding function of the mounting aid at the opening edge from the holding function of the luminaire housing on the mounting aid.
[0013] It is also advantageous if the mounting aid is made of plastic or metal, particularly the same plastic as the luminaire housing. This ensures that the mounting aid has a comparable or identical hardness to the luminaire housing with its locking elements, preventing damage to the mounting aid during the locking process.
[0014] The problem with the component is solved by the features of claim 6.
[0015] One embodiment of the invention relates to a component with an opening that forms a first and a second opening edge and with a vehicle light that is inserted into the opening.
[0016] It is advantageous if the component is a rear fairing. This is preferably made of plastic.
[0017] It is also advantageous if the vehicle light is a license plate light.
[0018] It is particularly advantageous if the component is made of a plastic, in particular a different plastic than the luminaire housing and the mounting aid, especially a softer plastic than the luminaire housing and the mounting aid.
[0019] The problem relating to the motor vehicle is solved by the features of claim 10.
[0020] One embodiment of the invention relates to a motor vehicle with a component comprising a vehicle light.
[0021] The invention will now be explained in detail using an exemplary embodiment and with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows: Fig. 1. A perspective view of a vehicle light in an opening of a component of a motor vehicle. Fig. 2 a front view of the vehicle light in the opening of the component, and Fig. 3 A partial sectional view of the vehicle light and the component.
[0022] The Fig. Figure 1 shows a rear view of a vehicle light 1 as it is inserted into an opening 2 of a component 3 of a motor vehicle 4.
[0023] The vehicle light 1 is in the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 1 to 3 designed as a license plate light for a rear fairing of a motor vehicle, but it can also be designed or used in other ways.
[0024] The vehicle light 1 has a light housing 5 with light sources arranged inside it. The vehicle light 1 is inserted into the opening 2 of the component 3 from the front. A connector housing 6 is provided on the side of the light housing 5 for electrical connection with a cable and connector.
[0025] The light housing 5 is provided with a lateral first retaining device 7 and with a lateral second retaining device 8 to attach the light housing 5 of the vehicle light 1 to the component 3 in the opening 2.
[0026] The first holding device 7 and the second holding device 8 are arranged on opposite sides of the luminaire housing 5. The figures show that the luminaire housing 5 is approximately rectangular in cross-section and is inserted into an approximately rectangular opening 2. The opening forms a first opening edge 9 and a second opening edge 10 on its narrow sides, which are essentially opposite each other.
[0027] During assembly, the first retaining device 7 forms a retaining connection with the first opening edge 9. The first retaining device 7 is a positive-locking retaining device for receiving the first opening edge 9. Thus, the first retaining device 7 can be a receptacle between two ribs or projections into which the first opening edge is inserted laterally. Alternatively, the first retaining device 7 can be a retaining device with locking elements that engage with the first opening edge.
[0028] The mounting aid 11 is slid laterally over the second opening edge 10, see arrow 21, and secured there. The luminaire housing 5 is attached to this mounting aid 11 with the second retaining device 8.
[0029] The second retaining device 8 is a snap-fit connection device with at least one snap hook 12 that can be engaged with the mounting aid 11. The mounting aid 11 has a mounting edge 13 on which the second retaining device 8 can be engaged.
[0030] For lateral attachment of the mounting aid element 11 to the second opening edge 10, the mounting aid element 11 has a locking arm 14 to be attached to a shoulder 19 of the component 3, as if locked in place.
[0031] The Fig. Figure 3 shows that the assembly aid 11 forms a U-shaped form with a receptacle 15 for receiving the second opening edge 10. For this purpose, the assembly aid 11 has a first arm 16 and a second arm 17, which extend essentially parallel to each other, with the receptacle 15 being formed between the two arms 16, 17. Advantageously, a locking element, designated as a locking arm 14, is provided on one of the arms 17 for locking onto a shoulder 19 adjacent to the second opening edge 10.
[0032] It is also advantageous if the mounting aid element 11 has a third arm 20 which extends in a direction opposite to the first arm 16 and the second arm 17, with the third arm 20 forming the fastening edge 13.
[0033] Preferably, the mounting aid element 11 is made of a plastic or a metal, in particular of the same plastic as the luminaire housing 5.
[0034] The Fig. Figures 1 to 3 show a component 3 with an opening 2 forming a first and a second opening edge 9, 10. A vehicle light 1 is inserted into this opening 2. The component 3 is preferably a rear panel, a trunk lid, a bumper, etc. The vehicle light 1 is, for example, a license plate light for illuminating a license plate.
[0035] Component 3 preferably consists of a plastic, in particular a different plastic than the luminaire housing and / or the mounting aid element, in particular a softer plastic than the luminaire housing and / or the mounting aid element.
