Description

[0001] The invention relates to a solid fuel grill for grilling edible products with solid fuels, in particular with charcoal, comprising: - a combustion chamber with a fuel grate for storing solid fuel, - a grill grate arranged above the combustion chamber for storing products to be grilled, - an air supply opening leading into the combustion chamber below the fuel grate, - a shaft connected to the combustion chamber with: -- a wall, -- a first shaft opening leading to the air supply opening of the combustion chamber, -- a second shaft opening designed to introduce fresh air into the shaft, -- and an ash area located below to collect already burnt solids in the fall area of the fuel grate, - and a fan to blow fresh air into the shaft.

[0002] Charcoal grills are available in a wide variety of designs. One of the most traditional grill types in Europe, and especially in Germany, is the so-called column grill, also known as a funnel grill or chimney grill.

[0003] It consists of a firebox, which forms the combustion chamber, at the top and is usually either funnel-shaped or hemispherical. The lower section of the firebox usually contains a fuel grate in the form of a charcoal tray or a charcoal sheet, for holding the solid fuel, especially charcoal. The fuel grate is usually designed as a mesh or sheet with holes so that the fuel, once burned to ash, can fall to the bottom. Above the fuel grate, usually at a distance of 10 cm to 20 cm, is a grill grate, onto which the food can be placed and grilled.

[0004] Underneath the firebox there is usually a column or a shaft with ventilation inlets, which can usually be closed by means of rotating or sliding air plates to regulate the temperature.

[0005] At the bottom of the column forming the shaft there is usually an ash container, usually in the form of an ash drawer, which collects the falling hot ash for later disposal.

[0006] This configuration allows for faster heating of the grill and higher temperatures thanks to the chimney draft, as the glowing coals are supplied with rising air from below in an air stream, similar to that in a chimney. When the coals are ignited for grilling with fuel or solid fuel, the glowing coals allow the air to rise upwards, drawing in fresh air from below, which fans the coals and makes them hotter.

[0007] To regulate the air supply, these grills often have a variable air inlet opening at the bottom of the column, which can influence the amount of air flowing in and thus allows the user to regulate the grill temperature.

[0008] It is also known from utility model DE 203 15 977 U1 that an electric fan is installed in the column's air intake opening to influence, particularly to increase, the airflow. This fan, in the form of forced ventilation, can generate an increased airflow, thereby fanning the charcoal more effectively. Depending on the strength of the airflow, it takes only a fraction of the time to get the charcoal glowing to "grill-ready" during lighting or fanning.

[0009] For grills without airflow, such as kettle grills or simple bowl grills, this can take up to 30 minutes. With a fan, this can be done in just about 5 minutes, heating up the charcoal grill just as quickly as a gas grill, which is a huge advantage in practice.

[0010] However, one result of this technique described above, which increases the airflow, is that the charcoal gets significantly hotter due to the increased oxygen supply and the resulting forced chemical reaction than with conventional grills, which only use convection airflow. While charcoal glows at around 350°C without fanning, the embers of charcoal can reach up to 700°C with a significant airflow. During fanning, the grill body gets significantly hotter than with conventional grills without a fan. While the side walls of a grill without a fan reach around 200°C, the same walls with a fan can reach up to 350°C.

[0011] This heat problem also continues in the column where the fan is supposed to be located according to utility model DE 203 15 977 U1. Temperatures there reach up to 150°C during the heating phase. Even after the heating phase, when the fan is turned off and the cooling airflow no longer provides cooling, the area around the fan continues to heat up considerably.

[0012] From the publication US 2008 / 0 168 977 A1 a grill with forced ventilation is known, in which a separate air shaft with a fan is arranged on the side of the combustion chamber for the air supply and is insulated by an additional insulation layer.

[0013] The document US 6 223 737 B1 describes a pellet grill in which pellets are fed into a combustion chamber via an auger, the combustion chamber being arranged at the bottom of a shaft and being supplied with supply air via a fan arranged externally via a pressure chamber arranged to the side of the shaft.

[0014] The publication DE 20 2012 100 411 U1 shows a grill with a combustion chamber into which air is introduced laterally via a slanted supply duct, generated by a fan located in the supply duct. The fan is not thermally insulated.

[0015] The object is therefore to design a solid fuel grill, in particular a charcoal grill, with ventilation elements, comprising control electronics, a fan and a power source, in particular a power storage cell, i.e. a battery or an accumulator, in such a way that these ventilation elements can be manufactured from inexpensive standard elements and do not require particularly heat-resistant components, for example simple fans made of plastic, simple commercially available accumulators and batteries and / or simple electronic components can also be used.

[0016] This object is achieved by the features of independent patent claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of subordinate claims.

[0017] A charcoal grill design with an installed fan for forced ventilation, as described in the aforementioned utility model DE 203 15 977 U1, is only possible with very temperature-resistant fans. However, such temperature-resistant fans are expensive. Inexpensive fans suitable for mass production are usually made of plastic and thus only suitable for temperatures up to 80°C. With conventional technical components, such as those used in large-scale technical production, such a grill is not possible, or only at considerable expense.

[0018] Even more problematic is the battery or rechargeable battery required for off-grid operation. These are generally only approved for ambient temperatures of 40°C to 60°C. In this case, a simple application would be to use eight standard 1.5-volt AA cells, alkaline batteries, or similar, which could then power a standard 12-volt fan. This would be technically very simple but very expensive due to the battery consumption.

[0019] To control the fan, a control or regulation electronics can be used. This electronics operates the fan and automatically switches it off again after the heating-up phase and when the grill is ready to grill, to prevent damage from overheating. This electronics then features a microprocessor with appropriate programming or software, which ideally not only switches the fan on and automatically switches it off again after a heating-up time, but also performs other monitoring and comfort functions. For example, a temperature sensor on the control board can measure the operating temperature. If a limit is exceeded, this sensor emits an alarm and switches off the electronics. If the electronics are spatially aligned with the at least one power storage cell intended for operation, in particular a battery or accumulator, this can also prevent overheating and damage to the power storage cells.

[0020] Furthermore, a charging chip and a USB socket can be integrated into the control board of the control unit, which can then be used to charge the grill using a standard smartphone charger that is usually available in households.

[0021] A technically modern and high-quality forced ventilation unit – hereinafter referred to as a fan unit – usually contains several electromechanical and electronic parts and components, including a) a fan, b) a power storage cell, c) control electronics, and preferably d) a switch for turning the electronics on and off. Alternatively or additionally, the electronics can also be operated via an external remote control, for example, via an infrared, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi connection.

[0022] Inexpensive fans suitable for series production are usually made of plastic and therefore only suitable for ambient temperatures up to 80°C. Electronic components, and thus assemblies such as the control electronics, use commercially available electronic components that are generally approved for temperatures up to 85°C. Commercially available batteries or high-performance lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are generally only approved for ambient temperatures of 40°C to 60°C.

[0023] The use of high-temperature-resistant electrical and electronic components, as known from military applications, is possible in principle, but not feasible in practice for cost reasons.

[0024] The inventor has therefore recognized that it is possible to position at least one of the ventilation elements, namely the fan, its electronic control or regulation and / or its power storage cell, on the grill and to thermally decouple it in such a way that the temperatures for at least one of the ventilation elements are reduced to such an extent that operation under tolerable temperatures is possible.

[0025] This is possible, for example, by attaching the fan module as a thermally decoupled, external additional module to the column of the grill, or by integrating the fan unit with its thermally critical components into the shaft base in such a way that in both cases the operating temperatures for the electronics, fan and battery are not exceeded.

[0026] Thermal decoupling can generally be achieved by providing mechanical support bridges between the hot components of the grill and the fan or fan module with the smallest possible cross-section and / or by making these mechanical bridges from a material with the lowest possible thermal conductivity. For example, coupling elements made of heat-resistant plastic or ceramic with low thermal conductivity can be used between the fan and the wall to which the fan is mounted. Alternatively, coil springs can be used for this purpose, which transfer little heat due to the length of the coil spring wire.

[0027] In addition, the fan should be positioned so that as little radiant heat as possible is transferred from the grill, especially from the ash pan, to it. To achieve this, one can ensure that the fan's cross-section is as small as possible in the direction of the radiant heat source. Another option is to place an element that creates a radiation shadow between the radiation source and the fan, thus removing the fan from the heat radiation field. To achieve this, a suitably positioned surface, such as a heat shield made of sheet metal or, better yet, a material with low heat conductivity, can be positioned to create a radiation shadow around the fan or fan module.

[0028] According to the inventive ideas presented above, the inventor proposes a solid fuel grill for grilling edible products with solid fuels, in particular with charcoal, comprising: - a combustion chamber with a fuel grate for storing solid fuel, - a grill grate arranged above the combustion chamber for storing products to be grilled, - an air supply opening leading into the combustion chamber below the fuel grate, - a shaft connected to the combustion chamber with: -- a wall, -- a first shaft opening leading to the air supply opening of the combustion chamber, -- a second shaft opening designed to supply fresh air into the shaft, -- and ash area arranged below to collect already burnt solids in the fall area of the fuel grate, - a fan to blow fresh air into the shaft, - wherein, according to the invention, at least one of the ventilation elements comprising a fan, a power storage cell driving the fan and control and / or regulating electronics controlling and / or regulating the fan is arranged in the region of the shaft in such a way that it is thermally decoupled from components of the solid fuel grill which become hot, and - the shaft is designed with multiple flues over at least a section of the shaft, with a first flue directing the accumulating ash to an ash box and a second flue being used exclusively for the air supply.

[0029] The extensive thermal decoupling can also be supported by arranging or shielding at least one of the ventilation elements in such a way that it is located outside the heat radiation area of hot ash lying in the ash area.

[0030] For example, to thermally decouple the ventilation elements from the hot parts of the solid fuel grill, these ventilation elements can advantageously be mounted in a fan module with a housing.

[0031] A further improvement in thermal insulation can also be achieved by placing a thermal insulation layer with a low heat transfer coefficient between the fan module and the shaft and / or by placing the fan module in contact with the shaft only at specific points using a few, preferably two to six, fastening elements. It is particularly advantageous if the fastening elements have an insulating layer, at least in the contact area between the fan module and the shaft. This can be achieved, for example, by using plastic or ceramic sleeves around the actual fastening element, such as a screw or rivet.

[0032] A further advantageous embodiment consists in manufacturing the housing of the fan module from a material which has a significantly lower heat transfer coefficient than the material of the shaft, which is usually made of metal.

[0033] Likewise, the temperature of the fan on an operating grill can be improved by placing the fan on the outward-facing side of the fan module housing, as this increases the path from the heat source to the fan and cools the heat-conducting material along this extended path by radiation and air convection.

[0034] Furthermore, it is possible according to the invention to reduce temperature transfer by designing the shaft with multiple flues over at least a partial section, with a first flue directing the hot ash accumulating in the combustion chamber to an ash pan and a second flue being provided which is exclusively intended for the supply of fresh air via the fan. This creates a spatial separation between the hot ash and the fan, with the partition wall between the ash-discharging flue and the air-supply flue also acting as a shield to shield against heat radiation. If necessary, this partition wall can even be equipped with an additional insulating layer, or both flues can be mechanically separated from one another in the double-running area. If both flues run without touching one another, optimal thermal separation is achieved.

[0035] Additionally, it is also helpful to have a deflector element above the second flue, which is intended for air supply. This deflector element is designed and arranged to divert falling ash from the second flue. For example, this can be a simple, angled sheet that deflects falling ash from the second flue.

[0036] In a further embodiment of the solid fuel grill according to the invention, it is provided that the shaft is equipped with a shaft base which preferably widens towards the bottom or has a larger cross-section than the shaft.

[0037] Advantageously, the shaft base can be hollow, have a first opening that leads to the first opening in the shaft, have a second opening that serves to supply fresh air from outside and at least one ventilation element or the fan module can be mounted on the shaft base itself.

[0038] It is also advantageous if at least one ventilation element and / or the fan module is connected to the shaft or the shaft base via coupling elements which - in comparison to the material of the wall of the shaft or the shaft base - have a largely thermally insulating effect.

[0039] For example, a spiral spring, a plastic element, a ceramic element or an element made of heat-resistant rubber can be used as the coupling element.

[0040] Furthermore, a surface that largely absorbs and / or reflects heat radiation, in particular a heat shielding plate, can be arranged between the fan and / or the fan module and the heat-radiating components of the solid grill.

[0041] The shaft with the shaft base is preferably designed as a single piece.

[0042] It is also advantageous if the combustion chamber is concave and widens upwards towards the grill grate.

[0043] In a first variant, the combustion chamber and preferably also the shaft can be formed from several flat surfaces as a wall. Thus, the grill as a whole can be designed "square," possibly with rounded edges or rounded transitions between the surfaces.

[0044] According to another embodiment variant, it is proposed that the combustion chamber is designed to be ellipsoidal and open at the top, a cover is designed to be ellipsoidal and open at the bottom and can be placed on the upper edge of the combustion chamber, the shaft arranged below the combustion chamber is designed to be ellipsoidal with a large opening at the bottom as a shaft base, the ellipsoidal shape being designed in particular to be hemispherical.

[0045] The radii of the ellipsoids can be advantageously selected so that the components can be nested and stacked. This creates a compact, packable grill that takes up little storage space, especially for leisure activities and camping.

[0046] Furthermore, the grill with ellipsoidal components can have a cylindrical air shaft with an elliptical, preferably circular, cross-section between the combustion chamber and the shaft base. This allows the distance between the floor and the combustion chamber, with the grill surface located there, to be increased.

[0047] According to a further improvement, a control unit should also be designed and, in particular, programmed in such a way that operating errors, which could lead to overheating and thus fire damage, are largely ruled out, while at the same time enabling economical and convenient operation. It is advantageous in this regard if at least one temperature sensor is also provided, which the fan control can access in order to keep the temperature in the area of the fan and / or the electronics and / or the power storage cells within specified limits. It is particularly advantageous to arrange a temperature sensor in each of the temperature-critical components. This makes it possible to control the fan speed so that none of the individually specified maximum component temperatures are exceeded.

[0048] In a particularly user-friendly version of the solid fuel grill, it is equipped with control and / or regulation electronics to influence the flow of fresh air through the solid fuel grill, which is designed to be remotely controlled.

[0049] Such remote control can be achieved via a special handheld transmitter that influences the fan speed and / or the size of an air intake opening. However, it is particularly advantageous if the remotely controllable control and / or regulation electronics for influencing the fresh air flow have a communication module for connecting to a mobile phone, especially a smartphone, on which a program or app for controlling the control and / or regulation electronics is stored and runs during operation. This allows the grill temperature to be controlled very conveniently via the mobile phone.

[0050] The invention is described in more detail below using preferred embodiments with the aid of the figures, in which only the features necessary for understanding the invention are shown. They show in detail: Fig. 1: Front view of a square charcoal grill according to the invention; Fig. 2: Cross-sectional drawing of a square charcoal grill with a fan module attached to the front of the shaft; Fig. 3: Cross-sectional drawing of a square charcoal grill with a fan module attached to the front of the shaft and a fan on the side of the fan module housing facing away from the grill; Fig. 4: Cross-sectional drawing of a square charcoal grill with a two-compartment shaft and with fan, power supply and electronics in the shaft base; Fig. 5: Cross-sectional drawing of a round charcoal grill with a two-compartment cylindrical shaft and a fan module in the shaft base; Fig. 6: Cross-sectional drawing of a round charcoal grill with a fan module attached to the front of the two-flue cylindrical shaft with a fan on the side of the fan module housing facing away from the grill; Fig. 7: Cross-sectional drawing of a round charcoal grill without a cylindrical shaft with a fan module in the shaft base; Fig. 8: Fan arrangement on a wall with fastening elements encased in sleeves; Fig. 9: Fan arrangement on a wall with flexible fastening elements made of plastic or rubber; Fig. 10: Fan arrangement on a wall with flexible fastening elements designed as spiral springs; Fig. 11: Fan arrangement with a fan suspended on a wall; Fig. 12: Fan arrangement on a wall with insulation layer between fan and wall, the fan held by clamps.

[0051] The Fig. 1 shows a front view of a charcoal grill / solid fuel grill 1 according to the invention, hereinafter referred to as grill for short, with an external fan module 10, which is attached to the shaft 5 of the grill 1, whereby the grill 1 can basically also work as a normal column grill without the fan module.

[0052] The basic structure of such a grill 1, which is used for grilling edible products 20 with solid fuels, here with charcoal 21, has - as can be seen from the Fig. 1, a combustion chamber 2 that widens upwards with a fuel grate 3 arranged below, which serves to deposit the solid fuel, in this case the charcoal 21. Above the fuel grate 3, a grill grate 4 arranged in the upper area of the combustion chamber 2 can be seen, for depositing products 20 to be grilled. To support an adequate supply of fresh air, an air supply opening leading into the combustion chamber 2 is located below the fuel grate 3 and leads to a shaft 5 connected to the combustion chamber 2. The shaft 5 is constructed by a circumferential wall 6 and has a first shaft opening 7 to the combustion chamber 2 at the top and a second shaft opening 8 further down, which serve to supply fresh air. At the bottom, in the drop area of the fuel grate 3, in the shaft 5 there is an ash area 9 for collecting already burnt solid material, i.e. the ash 22.In the illustrated version of the grill 1, an ash box 19 designed as a drawer is provided to collect the ash 22, allowing easy disposal. In the exemplary embodiments shown here, the shaft 5 additionally features a widened shaft base 5.1 to improve stability. Furthermore, within the scope of the invention, additional wheels or rollers can be attached to this shaft base 5.1, making the grill easy to move.

[0053] According to the invention, a fan 11 is attached to the shaft 5 for blowing fresh air into the shaft 5 and above it into the combustion chamber 2. However, this fan 11 is not simply directly connected to the shaft 5, but rather the fan 11 is arranged in the area of the shaft in such a way that it is largely thermally decoupled from hot components of the grill 1, in particular the shaft 5, which is in good mechanical connection to the combustion chamber 2. This ensures that the fan does not overheat during operation of the grill 1, in whose combustion chamber 2 very high temperatures can arise. Several variants of a thermally decoupled attachment of the fan to the grill are described in the following. Fig. 8 to 12 are shown and described in more detail.

[0054] The fan module 10, with its fan 11, blows air coming from outside into the shaft 5 and pushes the air upwards to the glowing coals, fanning them. It is recommended to minimize the contact surface of the fan module 10 on the column of the grill 1 as much as possible in order to minimize heat transfer as much as possible and to only touch the column at the edges. An air gap can be maintained on the remaining majority of the actual contact surface, between which a small airflow flows, either through convection or during operation of the fan 11 itself, thus providing cooling and reducing heat transfer to the fan module 10.

[0055] While the fan 11 should be installed directly near the column in order to blow into the column, the battery and, if applicable, the electronics for control or regulation can be positioned at the furthest away from the column and / or the coolest location.

[0056] The Fig. 2 to 4 show different versions of the basic model according to the Fig. 1 in longitudinal section through the grill 1. In the following, only the differences are described explicitly, while regarding the basic structure, the description of the Fig. 1 is referred to.

[0057] The Fig. 2 shows the grill 1 from the Fig. 1. The difference to Grill 1 from the Fig. 1 essentially relates to the fan module 10. The fan module 10 itself is connected to the wall 6 of the shaft 5 via the insulating fastening elements 16, and the fan 11 is again fastened to the fan module 10 at specific points using likewise insulating fastening elements 16. Additionally, the fan module 10 contains, on the side facing away from the grill, the battery 13 as the power supply and the electronics module for controlling and regulating the fan 11. As already described above, in a particularly advantageous embodiment, the electronics module can be designed to be remotely controllable, in particular via a Bluetooth or WLAN connection, and controlled from a telephone, smartphone, or PC.

[0058] The Fig. 3 shows a variant of the grill 1 according to the invention according to the Fig. 2, however, for even better thermal decoupling of the fan 11, it is arranged on the outside of the housing 12 of the fan module 10.

[0059] The Fig. 4 shows another variant of the grill 1, where in contrast to Fig. 1 the shaft 5 has a partition 23 over a predominant part of its height, which forms a separate air supply shaft. In addition, a deflector element 17 is arranged above the thus formed separate air supply shaft, which prevents ash 22 from falling into the air supply shaft when falling from the fuel grate 3. Furthermore, to improve the thermal separation of the fan from the hot parts of the grill 1, the fan 11, including the power supply 13 and the control and / or regulating electronics 14, is arranged in the shaft base 5.1 and thus far away from the ash pan 19 and the combustion chamber 2. Here, the power supply 13 and the control and / or regulating electronics 14 are again spatially arranged at the coolest port of the shaft base 5.1, and the fan 11 is attached separately on the other side of the shaft base 5.1 in the air supply shaft.Accordingly, the fresh air supply takes place not only via a separate air supply shaft but also through the shaft base 5.1.

[0060] It should also be mentioned that the Fig. 1 to 4 do not have a lid, but equipping the grills 1 shown with a lid is within the scope of the invention.

[0061] While the Fig. 1 to 4 show embodiments of the grill according to the invention with essentially flat walls, are shown in the Fig. 5 to 7 sections of variants of the grill with ellipsoidally shaped components are shown.

[0062] The Fig. Figure 5 shows a longitudinal section of a grill 1, in which the combustion chamber 2 with the lid 2.1 and the shaft base 5.1 are each hemispherical. A fuel grate 3 is located at the bottom of the combustion chamber 2, and a grill grate 4 is located above it. Between the combustion chamber 2 and the shaft base, the shaft 5 is arranged, which has a first shaft opening 7 leading upwards to the combustion chamber 2. The shaft 5 is designed with two flues, with one flue serving to direct the ash 22 falling from the fuel grate 3 into the ash pan 19 located below, while the second flue serves to supply fresh air. Above the second flue is a deflector element 17, which shields the second shaft from falling ash. The fan module 10, which is located here in the shaft base 5.1, corresponds to the designs of the fan modules 10 in the previous figures and is not shown in further detail. Due to its installation in the shaft base 5.1 itself already provides significantly improved thermal insulation compared to the state of the art. This can be further improved by connecting the fan module 10 to the shaft base 5.1 only at certain points. Specially insulating fastening elements, such as those shown in the . Fig. 8 to 12 are shown.

[0063] If the grill 1 is operated without the fan module 10 switched on, the second draft in the shaft 5 shown here is particularly advantageous, since the air for fanning the coal is guided upwards separately via this, while the ash 22 can fall into the ash box 19 largely undisturbed by the updraft.

[0064] The Fig. 6 shows a version of the grill 1 similar to Fig. 5, however, here the fan module 10 is mounted directly on the shaft 5 so that the supplied air is directed into the second passage. In this design, the partition wall 23, which separates the first from the second passage in the shaft 5, also acts as a heat shield in the form of a heat shielding plate 18 to create a radiation shadow for the fan module 10.

[0065] The Fig. Figure 7 shows a particularly compact embodiment of the grill 1 according to the invention, for example, for use in camping or recreational boating. Here, the upper cylindrical part of the shaft is completely omitted and, instead, a downwardly widening shaft base 5.1 is arranged directly below the combustion chamber 2.

[0066] In the Fig. For the sake of clarity, Figure 7 shows an open flap for removing the ash box 19, which is of course closed during operation so that the supply air flow generated by the fan 11 does not escape through the flap opening.

[0067] It is further pointed out that the spherical grills 1 with lid 2.1 shown here are Fig. 5 to 7, it is of course necessary to open the covers 2.1 at least partially when operating the fan or to provide openings above the fuel grate 3, preferably in the cover 2.1, so that the air flow generated by the fan 11 reaches at least the fuel grate 3 in order to fan the fire of the solid fuel lying thereon.

[0068] The Fig. 8 to 12 show different variants of a fan arrangement according to the invention directly on a wall of the grill 1 or on the housing wall of the fan module 10. The fastening elements and fastening types shown here are also intended within the scope of the invention to realize a fastening of a fan module to the grill 1, in particular to the shaft 5 of the grill 1, which is as thermally separated as possible.

[0069] The Fig. Figure 8 shows a first fastening variant, in which the fan 11 is connected to a wall 6 or 12 of the grille or fan module housing with a thin screw 16.1. A ceramic sleeve 16.2 is placed around the thin screw 16.1 as a spacer between wall 6 / 12 and fan 11. Due to the small cross-section of the screw 16.1, the insulating effect of the ceramic sleeve 16.2, and the distance between the fan and the wall, the heat flow from the wall to the fan is greatly reduced in accordance with the invention.

[0070] The Fig. Figure 9 shows another fastening variant, using a flexible, elongated plastic element 16.3, which has a larger head with a subsequent notch, followed by a cylindrical body tapering towards the end with an additional notch relatively close to the end. This fastening element is pushed through an opening on both the fan side and the wall side, the diameter of which roughly corresponds to the outer diameter of the notch of the fastening element 16.3. To attach the fastening element 16.3, it is inserted through the two opposite openings in the fan and wall and pulled on the tapered end until the two notches clip into the two openings. Similar fastening elements are generally known as shock mounts for attaching PC fans.

[0071] The Fig. 10 shows the fastening of a fan 11 to a wall 6 / 12, whereby a spiral spring 16.4 serves as the fastening element, which is fastened to the wall 6 / 12 and the fan 11, for example by rivets 16.5.

[0072] The Fig. 11 shows the attachment of a fan 11 to a wall 6 / 12. Here, the fans 11 are each equipped with a pin with a widened head for attachment, which is hooked into a hook 16.7 on the side of the wall 6 / 12. Such an attachment has the advantage that there is only a small contact area between the fan 11 or the fan module 10 and the possibly hot wall 6 / 12, thus transferring only a small amount of heat.

[0073] In principle, the Fig. 11 is particularly suitable for attaching a fan module 10 to a wall 6 / 12 of the grill 1, since this also makes the fan module 10 very easy to remove.

[0074] The Fig. Finally, Figure 12 shows a fastening variant between fan 11 or fan module 10 and wall 6 / 12, in which an insulation layer 15 is arranged between the two components to keep heat transfer as low as possible. Thin clamps 16.6 can be used to hold the fan 11 itself. These clamps are attached to the wall 6 / 12, for example, by screwing, hooking, or a weld point, and enclose the fan 11 or fan module 10 in such a way that it is held against the wall 6 / 12. Due to the length and small cross-section of the clamps 16.6, very little heat is transferred through them.
