Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL AREA
[0001] The invention relates to a converter unit. A converter is an assembly that converts one form of energy into another. The converter unit according to the invention can, in particular, be a current converter. A current converter outputs a secondary current of milliamperes to a few amperes as its output signal, which is essentially proportional to the primary current. The current to be measured can be almost arbitrarily high with a sufficiently high turns ratio. In a current converter, the secondary current deviates from the primary current by a phase shift angle, which is approximately zero when properly connected. STATE OF THE ART
[0002] Converter units are known in various designs. The converters are typically mounted to a mounting plate using several pairs of bolts. The mounting plate itself can be attached to the DIN rails of, for example, a connection compartment. The Z-brackets for connecting the electrical cables are also usually attached to these bolt pairs. When mounting the converter, care must be taken to ensure that the Z-brackets do not twist. Such twisting could result in the required electrical clearances no longer being maintained, potentially leading to the formation of arcs. These arcs can pose a danger to the installer, and due to the risk of fire, also to the product itself, the building, and its occupants.
[0003] Typical converter units are known, for example, from the DD 32 059 A. PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION
[0004] Based on this prior art, the invention aims to provide an improved converter unit in which the converter can be mounted on the mounting plate in a rotationally secure manner.
[0005] The converter unit according to the invention is defined by the features of main claim 1. Further developments of the invention are the subject of subsequent claims.
[0006] The moving unit according to the invention comprises at least one converter and at least one pair of bolts for attaching the converter to a mounting plate. A converter tab can be attached to the two bolts of the bolt pair. Furthermore, at least one connecting element is provided, which can be attached to one of the two bolts of the bolt pair. According to the invention, at least one U-bracket is provided as an anti-rotation device. The U-bracket has a recess in its base plate that can be inserted over one of the two bolts of the bolt pair. The two lateral cantilevered walls of the U-bracket are long enough to at least partially cover the side edges of the at least one connecting element. The lateral cantilevered walls of the U-bracket thus prevent the connecting element from rotating when the screws are tightened.
[0007] Preferably, a first and a second connecting element can be provided, so that a connecting element can be attached to each of the bolts of a bolt pair. In this case, two U-brackets can also be provided, so that both connecting elements are protected from rotation.
[0008] In principle, at least one converter tab can be located above or below at least one connection element.
[0009] Preferably, at least one converter tab can be located above at least one connection element. At least one U-bracket can then be located above the converter tab. This simplifies the assembly of the converter unit.
[0010] In principle, at least one of the connecting elements can have any shape. For example, the connecting element can be plate-shaped with a rectangular cross-section. In this case, the connecting element would be flat. The at least one connecting element can also be designed as a Z-angle. The Z-shape increases the connection area up to the cover.
[0011] Further advantages and features of the invention can be seen in the features further specified in the claims and in the exemplary embodiments below. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
[0012] The invention is described and explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing. The drawing shows: Fig. 1 a converter unit according to the invention with a total of three converters in the assembled state, Fig. 2 an exploded view of the in Fig. 1 converter shown on the left, Fig. 3 a detailed view of a bolt for fastening a converter according to Fig. 2 and Fig. 4 a perspective view of the U-angle as anti-rotation device. WAYS TO IMPLEMENT THE INVENTION
[0013] The converter unit 10 according to the invention Fig. In the present example, device 1 has a total of three converters 12, which are attached to a common mounting plate 14. The mounting plate 14 is attached on both sides to a metal rail 16. Such an arrangement is, in principle, already known from the prior art.
[0014] The converters 12 are each fastened by a pair of bolts 20, each comprising an upper bolt 22 and a lower bolt 24. A spacer 26, which also serves as an insulator, is initially attached to each bolt 22, 24.
[0015] Above the spacers 26, in this example, a Z-bracket 30 is located on each of the bolts 22 and 24. The Z-bracket 30 has a first recess 32 by means of which the Z-bracket 30 can be inserted over the bolts 22 and 24. This first recess 32 is located in the upper plate element 34 of the Z-bracket 30. In the lower plate element 36, a second recess 38 is located, through which an electrical cable (not shown here) can be connected to the Z-bracket 30 by means of a screw connection 40.
[0016] Above the Z-angle 30, a converter tab 50 is provided. The converter tab 50 is inserted through the converter 12 and its two recesses 52, 54 are placed over a bolt 22, 24 of the bolt pair 20.
[0017] Above the converter tab 50, a U-angle 60 is attached to both bolts 22, 24 of the bolt pair 20 (see Fig.4) provided as an anti-rotation device. The U-bracket 60 has a base plate 62 with a recess 64. This recess 64 can be inserted over the bolts 22, 24. The two lateral cantilever walls 66 are designed to extend beyond and cover the side edges 56 of the converter tab 50 and the side edges 44 of the upper plate element 34 of the Z-bracket 30. In this way, even when the nut 70 is tightened, the Z-bracket 30 cannot rotate. This also allows the electrical cables to maintain the required clearances, preventing the formation of arcs.
