[0001] The present invention relates to a steaming insert for placement in a pot. The invention further relates to a kitchen appliance arrangement with a steaming insert.
[0002] Sous-vide cooking (vacuum cooking) is becoming increasingly popular for cooking meat and other foods (including vegetables). The food to be cooked (e.g., meat) is referred to below as the "food item." In sous-vide cooking, the food item must be vacuum-sealed in a vacuum-sealable bag. This is often done with a vacuum sealer, which is frequently quite labor-intensive. The bag (usually a plastic bag) containing the food item is then placed in a heated pot, and the meat is cooked.
