Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a storage compartment device for stowing objects in a motor vehicle, comprising a storage compartment unit which has a plurality of walls by which a storage compartment is at least partially delimited, and a separation system for separating the storage compartment into a plurality of partial storage compartments, wherein the separation system has a holding unit and at least one separation element such that the separation element is held in a form-fitting manner by the holding unit in an assembled state.
[0002] Such storage compartment devices are generally known from the prior art. In particular, such a storage compartment device is known as a glove compartment, wherein a storage compartment unit, which is in particular pot-shaped, delimits a storage compartment in which objects can be placed. The storage compartment unit has a plurality of walls, i.e. two side walls, a top wall and a bottom wall. In order to place an object in the storage compartment and to close the storage compartment, a lid is provided which can be adjusted between an open position, in which the objects can be placed in the storage compartment, and a closed position. In the closed position, the lid can be locked by means of a locking device. In order to divide the storage compartment into a plurality of partial storage compartments, a partition system is usually used which is designed such that partition elements can be inserted into the storage compartment as required.Such a storage compartment device with a partition system is disclosed, for example, in US 2024 / 083630 A1, wherein the partition system comprises several partition elements that can be plugged together and inserted into the storage compartment. DE 20 2009 006 582 U1 discloses a storage compartment device with a separate storage tray that can be inserted into the storage compartment, wherein the storage tray can be divided into several compartments.
[0003] A disadvantage of the design disclosed in US 2024 / 083630 A1 is that the separating elements are not fixed to the storage compartment unit; instead, a separating system is simply inserted into the storage compartment. This creates the risk of gaps between the separating elements and the walls of the storage compartment unit, which means that the partial storage compartments cannot be completely separated from one another and small objects can slip through the gaps from one partial storage compartment into another despite the separating system. A disadvantage of the design disclosed in DE 20 2009 006 582 U1 is that a separate storage tray must be removed each time objects are removed from or placed in the storage compartment.
[0004] The object of the invention is to provide a storage compartment device with a separation system by means of which the storage compartment can be easily and reliably divided into partial storage compartments as required.
[0005] The object of the invention is solved by the features of claim 1.
[0006] According to the invention, the holding unit has at least one elastically deformable holding element which is arranged on one of the walls of the storage compartment unit, wherein the separating system is designed such that by inserting the separating element into the storage compartment unit, the holding element is elastically deformed and a holding groove is formed, wherein the separating element engages in the holding groove in the finally assembled state.
[0007] The elastically deformable holding element, which is preferably made of an elastomer, can be deformed by a person applying a relatively small amount of force. If the storage compartment is to be divided into partial storage compartments, the dividing element, which is in particular a plate-like, rigid dividing element, is placed on a section of the holding element and loaded by the person in the direction of the holding element in such a way that the holding element is elastically deformed. The elastic deformation of the holding element forms a holding groove in this section. The dividing element is then pushed further into the storage compartment up to a stop, whereby a holding groove is formed over the entire length of the dividing element due to the elastic deformation. With a side opposite the retaining element, the separating element is coupled to an opposite wall, whereby the elastic deformation is permanently maintained as long as the separating element is not pulled out of the storage compartment. In the final assembled state of the separating element, the separating element is connected to the retaining element in a form-fitting and force-fitting manner, with the form-fitting connection being caused by the retaining groove and the force-fitting connection being caused by the preload of the retaining element, i.e., the friction between the separating element and the retaining element. The retaining element is, for example, glued to the storage compartment unit.
[0008] If no divider is inserted into the storage compartment, there is no retaining groove. This means that when the divider is removed, no components of the partition system are directly identifiable.
[0009] This makes it possible to provide a storage compartment device with a separation system through which the storage compartment can be easily and reliably divided into sub-storage compartments as required.
[0010] The holding element preferably has a plurality of pre-positioning grooves arranged side by side, such that when the separating element is inserted into the storage compartment unit, the holding element is elastically deformed at the pre-positioning grooves. The separating element is placed against a pre-positioning groove and loaded in the direction of the holding element, thereby deforming the holding element and pushing the separating element further into the holding element. In other words, the pre-positioning groove is expanded into a holding groove, wherein the depth of the holding groove is greater than the depth of the pre-positioning groove. The pre-positioning groove means that the person has to exert less force to push the separating element into the holding element to the required depth.
[0011] In a preferred embodiment, the holding element is formed by a plurality of elastically deformable rod members arranged side by side and having a substantially circular cross-section, with a pre-positioning groove being formed by two adjacent rod members. In this way, the elastically deformable holding element with the pre-positioning grooves can be easily manufactured, with the rod members deforming on the one hand and moving apart at least slightly on the other hand upon insertion of the separating element. The pre-positioning grooves are automatically formed by the circular cross-section of the rod members.
[0012] Preferably, the holding unit has an elastically deformable, tensioned fabric covering that surrounds the holding element. This allows the holding element, particularly with the pre-positioning grooves, to be covered in such a way that the separation system is not immediately visible when the separating element is disassembled. Furthermore, the rod members are held together by the fabric covering.
[0013] In a preferred embodiment, a holding unit is arranged on each of two opposite walls. This holds the divider, which is inserted into the storage compartment, on both sides, reliably preventing the divider from tipping over.
[0014] Preferably, the partition system comprises at least one transverse partition element that can be attached to two partition elements, such that a space separated by two partition elements is divided into two spaces by the transverse partition element running transversely to the partition elements. This allows the storage compartment to be divided into a plurality of spaces distributed across multiple levels.
[0015] In a preferred embodiment, the separating elements have at least one retaining projection or at least one retaining recess on their side surfaces, allowing the transverse separating elements to be easily attached to the separating elements. For example, on two adjacent separating elements, a retaining projection extending over the entire length of the separating elements is provided on the mutually facing sides, with the retaining projections being arranged at the same height. By inserting the transverse separating element and placing it on the retaining projections, the transverse separating element is fixed between the separating elements.
[0016] The object is further achieved by a motor vehicle with a storage compartment device according to one of claims 1 to 8. In this case, the storage compartment is, in particular, a glove compartment. For the advantages, reference is made to the preceding paragraphs.
[0017] An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows schematically a storage compartment device in perspective view, and Fig. 2 shows schematically a section of the storage compartment device in cross section.
[0018] Fig. 1 shows a storage compartment device 10 of a motor vehicle, which is arranged in a vehicle interior 2. The storage compartment device 10 is, in particular, a glove compartment, which is arranged on an instrument panel 4 of the motor vehicle.
[0019] The storage compartment device 10 comprises a storage compartment unit 12, which has a cover wall 14, two side walls 18, 20, and a base wall 16, wherein the side walls 18, 20 connect the cover wall 14 and the base wall 16 to one another. The cover wall 14, the base wall 16, and the side walls 18, 20 delimit a storage compartment 22. The base wall 16 is pivotally mounted on the instrument panel 4 about a rotation axis D, wherein the base wall 16 forms a cover, by means of which, in a closed position, a cavity provided on the instrument panel 4 for the storage compartment unit 12 can be covered. In the closed position of the cover, the storage compartment 22 is not accessible. In an open position of the cover, the cover is folded down and the storage compartment 22 is accessible.
[0020] In order to be able to use the storage compartment for different objects which should not mix, the storage compartment device 10 has a separation system 30 which is particularly suitable in the Fig. 2. The separation system 30 divides the storage compartment 22 into several partial storage compartments.
[0021] The separation system 30 comprises two holding units 32, 36, several separation elements 40, 42 and several transverse separation elements 50, 52.
[0022] A first holding unit 32 is attached to the ceiling wall 14. A second holding unit 36 is attached to the bottom wall 16, with the holding units 32, 36 being arranged on the sides of the ceiling wall 14 and the bottom wall 16 facing the storage compartment 22. The holding units 32, 36 each have a holding element 34, 38, which is composed of several rod members 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385 arranged parallel to one another. The rod members 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385 are made of an elastomer, i.e. they are elastically deformable, and have a substantially circular cross-section, wherein the adjacent rod members 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385 lie laterally against one another.Due to the circular cross-section of the rod members 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385, a pre-positioning groove 371, 372, 373, 374, 411, 412, 413, 414 is provided between each two adjacent rod members 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385. The holding units 32, 36 also each have an elastically deformable, flexible fabric cover 35, 39, by which the holding elements 32, 36 are covered on the storage compartment side.
[0023] The storage compartment 22 is divided, on the one hand, by the dividing elements 40, 42 and, on the other hand, by the transverse dividing elements 50, 52. The dividing elements 40, 42 are each plate-like and, when the storage compartment unit 12 is in the open position, can be inserted into the storage compartment 22 in a vertical orientation, with the dividing elements 40, 42 being held in the vertical orientation by the holding units 32, 36. The dividing elements 40, 42 have a length L that is greater than the heights between the holding units 32, 36.
[0024] During the insertion process of one of the separating elements 40, 42, the separating element 40, 42 is placed on a pre-positioning groove 371, 372, 373, 374, 411, 412, 413, 414, whereby the fabric cover 35, 39 and the elastically deformable holding elements 34, 38, ie the corresponding holding members 341, 342, 343, 344, yield or deform elastically in the placed area. Subsequently, the separating element 40, 42 is pushed further into the storage compartment 22, whereby the separating element 40, 42 moves along the pre-positioning groove 371, 372, 373, 374, 411, 412, 413, 414, and the fabric covering 35, 39 and the holding elements 34, 38 elastically deform accordingly as the insertion progresses. The elastic deformation of the holding elements 34, 38 and the fabric covering 35, 38 creates holding grooves 431, 432, 451, 452 on the holding units 32, 36, through which the separating elements 40, 42 are held in the vertical alignment. When the separating elements 40, 42 are dismantled, only the fabric covering 35, 39 is visible in its undeformed state.
[0025] By installing the dividers 40, 42, the storage compartment 22 is divided into several sub-storage compartments 24, 26, 28 arranged horizontally next to one another. By installing transverse dividers 50, 52, the sub-storage compartments 26, 28 are further divided vertically into several compartments 261, 262, 281, 282. For installing the cross-member elements 50, 52, the dividers 40, 42 each have projections 60 on mutually facing sides, on which the transverse dividers 50, 52 can be placed. The transverse separating elements 50, 52 can have different lengths, wherein the different lengths L are assigned to the different distances A between the pre-positioning grooves 371, 372, 373, 374, 411, 412, 413, 414, such that depending on which pre-positioning grooves 371, 372, 373, 374, 411, 412, 413, 414 two separating elements 40, 42 were inserted, the transverse separating element 50, 52 with the appropriate length L would have to be used.
