Description

TECHNICAL AREA

[0001] The present invention generally relates to a mounting structure for a display unit on an instrument panel base of a vehicle and to a vehicle with the mounting structure.

[0002] A display unit mounted on the base of a vehicle's instrument panel has become larger. Therefore, the display unit has a considerable weight.

[0003] For example, Japanese patent application KOKAI Publication No. 2017-81457, Japanese patent application KOKAI Publication No. 2023-169686 and Japanese patent application KOKAI Publication No. 2001-347895 disclose fastening structures for vehicle equipment.

[0004] For example, if the vehicle is struck from behind and an impact is transmitted, the force is transferred via, for example, a left-right structure of the vehicle to a support extending in a right-left direction at the front of the vehicle. Since the instrument panel base is attached to this support with screws or similar fasteners, the impact is also transmitted to the instrument panel base. At this point, there is a possibility that the display unit attached to the instrument panel base will move towards one side of the vehicle, towards the occupants, due to inertia. SUMMARY

[0005] The object of the present invention is to provide a fastening structure for a display unit on an instrument panel base of a vehicle, which can prevent the display unit from falling towards an occupant side due to inertia in a case where, for example, the vehicle is struck from behind and an impact is exerted on the vehicle, and a vehicle comprising such a fastening structure.

[0006] According to one aspect of the invention, a mounting structure for a display unit on an instrument panel of a vehicle comprises: an instrument panel base of the vehicle as a vehicle frame; one or more first brackets comprising: a first section to which a rear of the display unit with a display area, the screen of which is arranged towards the interior of a driver's cabin of the vehicle, is attached, and a second section extending from the first section to a front of the vehicle and attached to the instrument panel base by means of an external thread; and an internal threaded section that attaches the one or more first brackets to the instrument panel base by means of the external thread. [0007] A mounting structure 30 of a display unit 20, which is to be attached to a dashboard section (decorative bezel section) 18 of a vehicle 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention, is described with reference to the Fig. 1 to 6 described.

[0008] Fig. Figure 1 is a schematic view of the front of vehicle 10, seen from a top (roof) view of vehicle 10. Fig. 1 Several first brackets 34 and external threads 90 are not shown.

[0009] An orthogonal coordinate system XYZ is in Fig. 1 shown. A top surface in a drawing plane of Fig. 1 is a front side along a +Y-axis direction of vehicle 10, a right side is a right side along a +X-axis direction of vehicle 10, a left side is a left side along a -X-axis direction of vehicle 10, and a bottom side is a back side along a -Y-axis direction of vehicle 10. It should be noted that in vehicle 10 in Fig. 1. The sections used to describe the embodiment are shown, and the representation of other sections has been omitted.

[0010] It should be noted that vehicle 10 here can be a so-called motor vehicle or an electric vehicle (EV), a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHV), a fuel cell vehicle (FCV) or the like.

[0011] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, the vehicle 10 comprises, for example, a left element 12, a right element 14, and a tubular support 16 that connects the left element 12 and the right element 14 at the front of the vehicle 10. The support 16 is attached to the left element 12 and the right element 14 by bolts or the like (not shown). The support 16 may have a circular tubular shape or a suitable polygonal tubular shape. It should be noted that the instrument panel section 18 is located at the rear (driver's cab side) with respect to the support 16.

[0012] Therefore, the mounting structure 30 of the display unit 20 is attached to the support 16 on the driver's side (rear) with respect to the support 16. The display unit 20, which can be visually detected by an occupant of the vehicle 10, is then attached to the mounting structure 30. It should be noted that in the present embodiment, the display unit 20 is described as being arranged in the center of the dashboard section 18 in the width direction, but it can also be arranged offset to the right or to the left.

[0013] Here is Fig. 2 A schematic perspective view of display unit 20, seen from the rear of display unit 20. In Fig. Figure 2 shows the external threads for attaching a plurality (two) of the first brackets 34 to a rear (back surface) 22b of a display area 22.

[0014] Fig. Figure 3 is a schematic view of the mounting structure 30 of the display unit 20 as seen from the cabin side and from above. Fig. Figure 4 is a schematic view of the mounting structure 30 of the display unit 20 from the cabin side and from an upper left side in relation to Fig. 3 seen.

[0015] Fig. Figure 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view along line VV in Fig. 1. Fig. Figure 6 is an enlarged view of part of Fig. 5.

[0016] As in the Fig. 1 and Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the display unit 20 comprises a display area 22 with a display screen 22a and a housing area 24, which is provided on the rear side 22b of the display area 22. In the present embodiment, it is assumed that the display area 22 is dimensioned such that the housing area 24 is concealed and not visible when the display unit 20 is viewed from the side of the display screen 22a.

[0017] In the display unit 20, the display screen 22a is oriented towards the cabin side (rear) with respect to the vehicle 10, and the housing section 24 is located at the front with respect to the display area 22. Assuming that the display screen 22a is a flat surface, a normal orientation of the display screen 22a is preferably oriented in a horizontal direction towards the rear and upwards.

[0018] For example, in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the multiple (e.g., two) first brackets 34, which are described below, are provided, for example, on an upper section of the rear surface 22b of the display area 22 on one side opposite the screen 22a in the display area 22 and are attached such that they are spaced apart from each other in a right-left direction. Therefore, a top surface of the display area 22 is attached to an instrument panel base 32 on the vehicle side 10 at several points (e.g., two points) that are spaced apart from each other in a right-left direction. The position at which the first bracket 34 is attached is preferably an upper section of the rear surface 22b of the display area 22 or can be, instead of the one shown in Figure 2, a different location. Fig. 2 shown reverse side 22b of the display area 22 be a left and / or a right edge of the display area 22.

[0019] The in the Fig. The mounting structure 30 of the display unit 20 shown in Figures 1 to 4 comprises the instrument panel base (hereinafter mainly referred to as the IP base) 32, the several first brackets 34, a plurality of second brackets 36 and a frame element 38.

[0020] A front end of the IP base 32 is attached to the support 16 by bolts (not shown). The IP base 32 extends from the support 16 to the rear (vehicle side). The IP base 32 then includes a frame (vehicle-side frame) 40, which, for example, has a rectangular frame shape, to which the housing section 24 of the display unit 20 is attached.

[0021] The frame 40 comprises a rectangular frame (ring frame) 42, a base 44 of the first bracket 34 and the second bracket 36, which is provided on an upper section of the rectangular frame 42, an extension plate 46 extending from the base 44 to the rear (vehicle side), an upper projection 48a connecting the bases 44 and projecting to the rear, a lower projection 48b connecting a lower section of the rectangular frame 42 and projecting to the rear, and projections 50a and 50b projecting to the rear from a left section and a right section of the rectangular frame 42.

[0022] As in the Fig. 3 and Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the rectangular frame 42 is preferably designed, for example, as a ring-shaped body. The rectangular frame 42 is preferably made, for example, in one piece from a plastic material.

[0023] The IP base 32 includes an opening through which the housing section 24 is inserted on the rear (back surface) 22b of the display unit 20. The opening is formed, for example, by the flat sections 42a and 42b of the rectangular frame 42, the extension plate 46, the upper projection 48a, and the lower projection 48b, as described below. The housing section 24 of the display unit 20 is arranged in the opening of the IP base 32.

[0024] As in the Fig. 5 and Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the base 44 comprises a first mounting surface 44a for attaching a first to third section 66 of the first bracket 34, as described below, and a second mounting surface 44b for attaching the second bracket 36. The normal direction of the first mounting surface 44a is towards the cabin side (-Y-axis direction and +Z-axis direction) and upwards with respect to the upper end of the display area 22. The normal direction of the second mounting surface 44b is opposite to the normal direction of the first mounting surface 44a, i.e., towards the front and downwards with respect to the horizontal direction.

[0025] As in the Fig. As shown in Figures 3 to 6, the extension plate 46 supports a first and second section 64 of the first bracket 34, which are described below.

[0026] As in the Fig. 3 and Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the projections 48a and 48b and the projection 50a are separated from each other, and the projections 48a and 48b and the projection 50b are separated from each other to form the flat sections 42a and 42b on the rear of the rectangular frame 42. The projections 50a and 50b project towards the cabin relative to the projections 48a and 48b. Therefore, assuming that the rear 22b of the display area 22 of the display unit 20 is a flat surface, the rear can be brought into contact with the projections 50a and 50b, which are separated in the right-left direction, rather than with the projections 48a and 48b, which are separated in the up-down direction. Meanwhile, it is advantageous that the rear side 22b of the display area 22 of the display unit 20 is separated towards the cabin side with respect to the upward-downward separated projections 48a and 48b.

[0027] Each of the several first brackets 34, which are in the Fig. 2, Fig. 5 and Fig. The material shown in Figure 6 is formed, for example, by a process such as pressing it onto a flat metal plate. The first support 34 comprises a first section (first section) 62, which is attached, for example, to an upper section of the rear 22b of the display area 22 by a screw (not shown), the first second section 64, which is formed integrally with the first first section 62 and extends from the first first section 62 to the front in a state in which the display unit 20 is attached to the IP base 32 as described below, and the first third section (second section) 66, which is formed integrally with the first second section 64 and in which the normal direction of a surface opposite a mounting surface attached to the IP base 32, in a state in which it is attached to the IP base 32, points towards the cabin side and upwards with respect to the upper end of the display area 22.

[0028] The first section 62 is designed to make close contact with the rear surface 22b of the display area 22 using a screw (not shown). Therefore, the first section 62 is reliably attached to the rear surface 22b of the display area 22.

[0029] The first-second section 64 is, for example, bent at an angle α with respect to the first section 62 and extends towards the front. The angle α is preferably, for example, 90°.

[0030] The first-third section 66 is, for example, bent upwards by an angle β with respect to a front end of the first-second section 64. The angle β depends on the angle at which the first-second section 64 is inclined with respect to a horizontal plane, but is configured such that it extends forwards and upwards with respect to the front end of the first-second section 64. The angle β is preferably 90° or more and less than 180°. The angle β is preferably less than 135°.

[0031] A through-hole (screw hole) 67, which is attached to the base 44 of the IP base 32, is formed in the first-third section 66. Similarly, a through-hole (screw hole) 45, through which a body section and a screw section of the screw 90 pass, is formed in the base 44 of the IP base 32.

[0032] A central axis (imaginary line) of the through-hole 67 in the first-third section 66 of the first bracket 34 is preferably provided coaxially with a central line of the through-hole 45 in the base 44 and a screw hole (through-hole) 73 in a second-first section 72 of the second bracket 36 as described below. The central axis (imaginary line) of the through-hole 67 in the first-third section 66 of the first bracket 34 then preferably passes over components of the display unit 20 without intersecting the upper ends of the components of the display unit 20. Therefore, the bending angle β of the first bracket 34 is adjusted such that the head portion of the screw (fastener) 90, when the first bracket 34 is attached to the base 44, points towards the cabin side (rear), i.e., towards the interior of the vehicle.

[0033] Each of the several second brackets 36, which are in the Fig. The components shown in Figures 3 to 6 are formed, for example, by a process such as pressing onto a metal flat plate. The second bracket 36 is attached to the second mounting surface 44b on the rear of the base 44 of the IP base 32.

[0034] The second support 36 comprises the second-first section (third section) 72, a second-second section 74 which is integrally formed with the second-first section 72, a second-third section 76 which is integrally formed with the second-second section 74, and a second-fourth section (fourth section) 78 which is integrally formed with the second-third section 76.

[0035] The second-first section 72 has a screw hole 73, which is fastened by the screw 90 to the second mounting surface 44b on the rear of the base 44 of the IP base 32. An internal thread, into which the screw 90 is screwed, is cut in an inner circumferential surface of the screw hole 73. The diameter of the screw hole 73 is preferably smaller than the through hole 45 in the base 44 and the through hole 67 in the first third section 66.

[0036] The second-second section 74 is bent at an angle γ (for example, approximately 90°) with respect to the second-first section 72. Then the second-second section 74 extends forward and downward with respect to the second-first section 72.

[0037] The second third section 76 is bent at an angle δ (for example, approximately 135°) with respect to the second third section 74. The second third section 76 then extends forward and downward with respect to the second third section 74. The angle δ is preferably an angle at which a pointed end of the screw 90 does not interfere. The angle δ is preferably in a range of 120° or more and 150° or less.

[0038] The second-fourth section 78 is bent at an angle δ (for example, approximately 110°) with respect to the second-third section 76. The second-fourth section 78 then extends forward and downward with respect to the second-third section 76. It should be noted that the direction in which the second-fourth section 78 extends is, for example, a direction parallel to the top of the housing section 24 of the display unit 20. The angle ε is preferably set such that the direction in which the second-fourth section 78 extends is, for example, a direction parallel to the top of the housing section 24 of the display unit 20.

[0039] The in the Fig. The frame element 38 shown in 1 and 3 to 6 is, for example, attached by welding to the second-fourth section 78 of the second bracket 36.

[0040] As in the Fig. 3 and Fig.As shown in Figure 4, the frame element 38 comprises a support (transverse element) 82 extending in the right-left direction (horizontal direction), a pair of arms 84a and 84b extending downwards and to the rear from both ends of the support 82, and fastening plates 86a and 86b provided on the arms 84a and 84b.

[0041] Of the pair of arms 84a and 84b, the mounting plate 86a extending to the left is provided at an end section on the rear of the left arm 84a. The mounting plate 86a is attached with screws 92 to the flat section 42a on the rear of the rectangular frame 42 of the frame 40 from the rear (in the direction from the -Y-axis direction to the +Y-axis direction). Of the pair of arms 84a and 84b, the mounting plate 86b extending to the right is provided at an end section on the rear of the right arm 84b. The mounting plate 86b is attached with screws 92 to the flat section 42b on the rear of the rectangular frame 42 of the frame 40 from the rear (in the direction from the -Y-axis to the +Y-axis).

[0042] Therefore, the frame element 38 is welded to the second-fourth section (fourth section) 78 of the second bracket 36 for the bracket 36 of the second frame 38 and is attached to the IP base 32 from the rear of the vehicle 10 with the screws 92.

[0043] Note that a rightward-projecting projection 52a is formed on the left projection 50a of the frame 40. The projection 52a clamps the mounting plate 86a against the flat section 42a of the rectangular frame 42. Therefore, the forward and backward movement of the frame element 38 relative to the IP base 32 is restricted. Furthermore, a leftward-projecting projection 52b is formed on the right projection 50b of the frame 40. The projection 52b clamps the mounting plate 86b between the flat section 42b of the rectangular frame 42. Therefore, forward and backward movement of the frame element 38 relative to the IP base 32 is restricted.

[0044] Then the screw 90 is placed in the through hole 67 in the first third section 66 of the first bracket 34, the through hole 45 of the base 44 of the IP base 32 and the screw hole 73 in the second-first section 72 of the second bracket 36 and the screw 90 is screwed in, thereby fixing the first bracket 34, the IP base 32 and the second bracket 36.

[0045] Therefore, the display unit 20, attached to the first bracket 34, is attached to the mounting structure 30 including the IP base 32.

[0046] In the present embodiment, the normal direction of the first mounting surface 44a is directed towards the cabin side and upwards with respect to the upper end of the display area 22. The normal direction of the second mounting surface 44b is directed towards a side opposite the normal direction of the first mounting surface 44a, i.e., towards the front and downwards with respect to the horizontal direction. Therefore, when the screw 90 is fastened, a tool such as a screwdriver will not interfere with the display unit 20 or the like, and the screw 90 can be reliably fastened in the screw hole 73 in the second first section 72 of the second bracket 36 through the through hole 67 in the first third section 66 of the first bracket 34 and the through hole 45 in the base 44.

[0047] In the present embodiment, the first bracket 34, which is formed from a metal plate attached to the rear (back surface) 22b of the display area 22, and the components of the IP base 32 are fastened with the screws 90. The display unit 20 according to the present embodiment is not simply clipped in or the like, but is firmly attached to the IP base 32. Since the component of the IP base 32 to be fastened with the screw 90 is the second bracket 36, which is formed from the metal plate, a high holding force of the display unit 20 with respect to the IP base 32 can be maintained.

[0048] It is then assumed that, for example, according to the present embodiment, a collision occurs from the rear of the vehicle 10 and an impact acts upon the rear of the vehicle 10. The impact is transmitted via the structure of the left and right side panels 12 and 14 of the vehicle 10 and the like to the support 16, which extends in a right-left direction to the front section of the vehicle 10. The impact is then also transmitted from the support 16 via the IP base 32 and the first bracket 34 to the display unit 20. At this point, there is a possibility that the display unit 20 moves towards the occupant side (rear) due to inertia.

[0049] In the present embodiment, even in a case where an impact occurs from the rear of the vehicle 10, the display unit 20, which is attached to the IP base 32 via the first bracket 34, is prevented from being hindered from moving by the screw 90.

[0050] This prevents the mounting of the IP base 32 from detaching from the carrier 16, and it prevents the mounting of the socket 44 of the IP base 32 from detaching from the second-first section 72 of the second bracket 36 and the mounting of the first-third section 66 of the first bracket 34 from detaching from the socket 44 of the IP base 32. This prevents the display unit 20 from moving towards the occupant side relative to the IP base 32.

[0051] Furthermore, the mounting plate 86a of the frame element 38 is attached by screw 92 to the flat section 42a on the rear of the rectangular frame 42, and the mounting plate 86a of the frame element 38 is prevented from moving towards the occupant side by the projection 52a. Furthermore, the mounting plate 86b of the frame element 38 is attached by screw 92 to the flat section 42b on the rear of the rectangular frame 42, and the mounting plate 86b of the frame element 38 is prevented from moving towards the occupant side by the projection 52b. Therefore, if an impact occurs from the rear of the vehicle 10 and the impact is transmitted via the IP base 32 to the second bracket 36, the mounting plates 86a and 86b of the frame element 38 prevent the rear 22b of the display area 22 from being pushed out towards the occupant side.

[0052] Therefore, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to arrange the mounting structure 30 of the display unit 20 on the instrument panel base 32 of the vehicle 10 in such a way as to prevent the display unit 20 from falling towards the occupant side due to inertia in a case where, for example, the vehicle 10 collides from the rear and an impact is exerted on the vehicle 10, and the vehicle 10 includes such a mounting structure 30.

[0053] In the embodiment described above, an example was presented in which the screw hole 73 in the second first section 72 of the second bracket 36 is configured as an internal thread. For example, the screw hole 73 can be a through hole through which the screw section of the screw 90 passes. In this case, the screw 90 can be configured as a bolt, and the screw section of the screw 90 can be secured as a nut (not shown). Therefore, the second first section (third section) 72 of the second bracket 36 can be configured as an internally threaded section that is secured to a base and the first bracket 34 with the external thread 90. An internally threaded section can be an internal thread or a nut of the screw hole 73 in the second bracket 34. Therefore, a simple nut can be used instead of the second bracket 36.

[0054] Further advantages and variations will readily occur to those skilled in the art. Therefore, the invention, in its broader aspects, is not limited to the specific details and representative embodiments shown and described herein. Accordingly, various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the general inventive concept as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
