Direct wiring connection assembly

Abstract

A connector assembly comprises a cable containing a conductor with at least one wire. The conductor has an outer surface. The connector assembly includes a connector with a main body extending between a front and a back of the connector. The connector includes a wire support that supports the at least one wire of the conductor at a mating interface. The at least one wire is welded to the wire support to secure it to the main body of the connector. The outer surface of the conductor is exposed at the mating interface to create a direct connection with a mating component.
