AI Technical Summary
Conventional ABS modulators in spreading seat vehicles are typically mounted at a high location on the front side of the vehicle, leading to an uneven center of gravity, which becomes more significant as the vehicle becomes more compact.
The ABS modulator is repositioned near the lower rear section of the main frame, with the battery also placed between the main frame for optimized weight distribution. The ABS modulator includes an engine for setting braking force, with its axis inclined outward and backward, and a metal section aligned with the vehicle's center to reduce width and improve stability.
This configuration optimizes the vehicle's center of gravity, improves weight distribution, and reduces the vehicle's width, resulting in a more stable and compact design while maintaining effective braking performance.

Abstract
Description
Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a spread-seat vehicle which includes a brake force adjustment device. background
[0002] In spread-seat vehicles, such as motorcycles, some spread-seat vehicles include ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) modulators, which act as brake force adjusters that regulate the braking force of the wheels. One configuration is disclosed in which an ABS modulator is arranged between a pair of left and right frame members, which in such a vehicle extend rearward from a head tube (see, for example, JP 2008-74206A).
[0003] EP 2 130 731 A2 discloses a spread-seat vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1. There, an ABS unit is attached to the rear swingarm supports.
[0004] The JP 2007-76 555 A houses a battery and an ABS unit in a device mounting box.
[0005] The US 2012 / 0 186 895 A1 shows several ABS lines made of metal. Summary of the invention: Technical problem
[0006] In the conventional configuration, the ABS modulator, which adds weight, is positioned high on the front of the vehicle body, thus tending to place the center of gravity near the front and top. This effect is particularly pronounced when the vehicle body becomes more compact.
[0007] The present invention is therefore based on the objective of optimizing a location of the center of gravity of a vehicle body in a simple manner. Solution to the problem
[0008] To achieve the above-described objective, a spread-seat vehicle according to claim 1 is specified. Advantageous embodiments are specified in the dependent claims. Advantageous effects of the invention
[0009] In the present invention, the brake force adjustment device is arranged near the rotary support, which is connected to the lower rear section of the main frame and to which the pivot arm is pivotably connected, so that a location of the center of gravity of the vehicle body is optimized in a simpler way compared to the case in which the brake force adjustment device is arranged at a high point on a front side of the vehicle body.
[0010] Furthermore, the battery and the brake force adjustment device are located at the points that face each other with the main frame in between, so that the weight distribution of the vehicle body is optimized in a simple way.
[0011] Furthermore, the brake force adjusting device includes the motor which adjusts the braking force, and the axis line of the motor is inclined outwards in the direction of the vehicle width and to the rear, so that a smooth and narrow external appearance can be achieved by further reducing the vehicle width towards the rear.
[0012] Furthermore, the brake force adjusting device includes the metal section which contains the motor, and the metal section is arranged in the direction of the vehicle body center so that the center of gravity of the brake force adjusting device can be brought in the direction of the vehicle width center.
[0013] Furthermore, the brake force adjusting device has the connection points of the hydraulic pressure lines in the device, which are provided towards the rear and towards the center of the vehicle body, so that a sieve space for draining water, such as rainwater, which adheres to the hydraulic pressure lines is easily ensured.
[0014] The bracket extends below the brake force adjustment device from the rotary carrier and holds the brake force adjustment device from below, and therefore a bracket structure for the brake force adjustment device can be made compact.
[0015] Furthermore, the hydraulic pressure lines extending forward from the brake force adjusting device are configured with metal lines up to the predetermined points behind the head tube, and from the predetermined points onwards are configured with resin / plastic lines, so that a section of the metal lines is increased and pressure loss can be reduced.
[0016] Furthermore, the hydraulic pressure lines, which extend forward from the brake force adjusting device, are routed under the main frame, thus improving the arrangement efficiency and ease of assembly of the hydraulic pressure lines, and the hydraulic pressure lines are easily cooled by airflow under the main frame.
[0017] Furthermore, the inlet channel, which extends diagonally rearward and towards the center of the vehicle width in a top view, is arranged above the brake force adjustment device and is inclined rearward and in the direction of the vehicle width towards the center of the vehicle width along the surface on the outside of the brake force adjustment device, so that the smooth and narrow external appearance can be achieved by further reducing the vehicle width towards the rear.
[0018] Furthermore, the turntable has the mounting section which holds the machine of the spread-seat vehicle, so that the turntable can also be used as the machine suspension, and the number of components can be reduced. [0019] A method for carrying out the present invention is described below with reference to the drawings.
[0020] In this explanation, descriptions of directions such as front, rear, left, right, top, and bottom are the same as the respective directions of a vehicle body, unless specifically described otherwise. The reference symbol FR shown in the respective drawings denotes a front side of a vehicle body, the reference symbol UP denotes a top side of a vehicle body, and the reference symbol RH denotes a right side of a vehicle body.
[0021] Fig. Figure 1 is a right side view of a motorcycle according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0022] A motorcycle 1 is a compact vehicle in which a vehicle body frame 2 has only one main frame 32 (a so-called monoframe) and only one front wheel 5 of the front and rear wheel (wheels) 5 and 8 is equipped with an ABS modulator 80 of a channel which performs an anti-lock control / regulation.
[0023] The motorcycle 1 comprises the vehicle body frame 2, a pair of left and right front forks 3 which are mounted on a front section of the vehicle body frame 2 in such a way that they are steerable, a handle 4 which steers the front fork 3, the front wheel 5 which is rotatably mounted by lower end sections of the front fork 3, and a machine 6 which is mounted by the vehicle body frame 2. Furthermore, the motorcycle 1 comprises a pivot arm 7, which is held behind the machine 6 by the vehicle body frame 2 in such a way that it can pivot upwards and downwards, the rear wheel 8, which is rotatably mounted by a rear end section of the pivot arm 7, a rear damper 9, which is placed between the pivot arm 7 and the vehicle body frame 2, a fuel tank 10, which is arranged on an upper section of the vehicle body frame 2, and a driver's seat 11, which is arranged behind the fuel tank 10.Furthermore, the vehicle body frame 2 is covered with a vehicle body cover 12.
[0024] The motorcycle 1 has a front brake 21, which brakes the front wheel 5, a rear brake 22, which brakes the rear wheel 8, and a wheel speed sensor 30, which detects the rotational speed of the front wheel 5. The front brake 21 is a disc brake device, which is a hydraulic pressure brake that operates by hydraulic pressure, and has a front brake disc 21A, which rotates integrally with the front wheel 5, and a front brake caliper 21B, which brakes the front brake disc 21A. The rear brake 22 is a drum brake device, which is a mechanical brake that operates by the pulling force of a rod, and is integrally provided on one wheel of the rear wheel 8.
[0025] The front wheel speed, which is detected by the wheel speed sensor 30, is output to the ABS modulator 80 and is used in an anti-lock braking system / control of the front wheel brake 21.
[0026] Fig. Figure 2 is a front view of motorcycle 1. Furthermore, Fig. 3 a right side view, which shows the vehicle body frame 2 with brake-related components, and Fig. Figure 4 is a top view showing the vehicle body frame 2 with the brake-related components.
[0027] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, a pair of left and right hand grips 4R and 4L are provided at both ends of the handle 4, which are gripped by a rider seated on the rider's seat 11. The right-hand hand grip 4R is a throttle grip for performing a throttling operation. Near the right-hand hand grip 4R of the handle 4, a front brake lever (a front brake actuating element) 21R is provided, which actuates the front brake 21 in response to a brake application by the rider's right hand, via a right-hand clamping section 4R1 that is clamped to the handle 4.
[0028] The front brake lever 21R is connected to an end section of a hydraulic pressure line (hereinafter referred to as a first hydraulic pressure line) 23, which functions as a brake hose, via a master cylinder 24, which is provided at the right clamping section 4R1. The actuating force of the brake lever 21R is transmitted by the master cylinder 24 as a hydraulic pressure brake actuating force to the first hydraulic pressure line 23.
[0029] The first hydraulic pressure line 23 is routed along the vehicle body frame 2 and is connected to the ABS modulator 80, as shown in Fig. 3 shown. Furthermore, a hydraulic pressure line (hereinafter referred to as a second hydraulic pressure line) 25, which is connected to the front wheel brake 21, is also routed along the vehicle body frame 2 and is connected to the ABS modulator 80, as shown in Fig. 3 shown.
[0030] Near the handle 4L on the left side of the handle 4 is a clutch lever (a clutch actuating element) 21L, which, in response to clutch actuation by the driver's left hand, actuates a clutch mechanism integrally provided on the machine 6, via a left clamping section 4L1 which is clamped to the handle 4. Fig. Reference 2 refers to the 4M rearview mirrors, which are provided to the left and right of the handle 4, and reference 26 refers to a front cover, which covers a front part of the vehicle body from a front side and on which lights are attached.
[0031] Next, the vehicle body frame 2 will be described.
[0032] As in Fig. 3 and Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the vehicle body frame 2 comprises a head tube 31, which is arranged at a front end section of the vehicle body frame 2, a single main frame 32, which extends rearward from the head tube 31, and a pair of left and right turntables (also referred to as turntables and turntables), which are connected to a lower rear section of the main frame 32.
[0033] Furthermore, the vehicle body frame 2 comprises a single lower frame 34 extending downwards from the head tube 31, a pair of left and right seat rails 35 extending rearwards from a center point of the main frame 32, and a pair of left and right subframes 36 bridging the seat rails 35 and the swivel supports 33. It should be noted that the subframes 36 additionally support the driver's seat 11, which is held by the seat rails 35, and therefore also function as lower side seat rails.
[0034] In more detail, the head tube 31 is formed from a metal tube which extends downwards centrally towards a front side in the direction of the vehicle's width and steerably holds the handle 4 and the front fork 3. Furthermore, a pair of left and right front gusset plates 37, made of a metal sheet material, are provided between a front section of the main frame 32 and a front section of the lower frame.
[0035] The main frame 32 is formed from a single metal tube. The main frame 32 integrally comprises a front main frame 32A, which extends straight downwards from the head tube 31 to a rear end, and a rear main frame 32B, which is bent from a rear end section of the front main frame 32A and extends downwards at a steeper angle than the front main frame 32A. The fuel tank 10 is mounted on an upper section of the front main frame 32A.
[0036] A bracket 32C, which holds an upper end section of the rear damper 9, is provided on an upper section of the rear main frame 32B. The single rear damper 9 is located behind the rear main frame 32B and in the center, in the direction of the vehicle's width. Furthermore, the pair of left and right swivel mounts 33 are provided on a lower section of the rear main frame 32B.
[0037] The pair of left and right swivel supports 33 each rotatably hold the front end sections of the pair of left and right pivot arms 7. The respective swivel supports 33 are formed from metal plate elements which extend vertically in the vehicle width direction outside the rear main frame 32B and in the vehicle width direction inside the pair of left and right subframes 36.
[0038] A pivot axis 33J is mounted at a vertically central point on each of the rotary supports 33. A front end section of each of the swivel arms 7 is rotatably mounted via the pivot axis 33J. Furthermore, mounting sections 33A and 33B, which support a rear part of the machine 6, are provided on an upper front section and a lower front section of each of the rotary supports 33. The respective mounting sections 33A and 33B support the rear part of the machine 6 using fastening elements. Thus, the respective rotary supports 33 also function as rear machine suspensions, supporting the rear part of the machine 6.
[0039] At the rear sections of the respective rotating girders 33 are step girders 42 ( Fig. 1) mounted, which is a pair of a left and a right main step 41 ( Fig. 1) Holders on which the driver, sitting in the driver's seat 11, places his or her feet. Furthermore, a brake pedal (a rear wheel brake actuation element) 43 is also attached to the footrest 42 ( Fig. 1) mounted, which actuates the rear wheel brake 22 in response to braking by the rider's right foot. Furthermore, the ABS modulator 80 is held on the right side by the rotating support 33. A mounting structure for the ABS modulator 80 will be described later.
[0040] A gearshift pedal 44 ( Fig. 2 and Fig. 4) In addition to the main step 41, the rotating support 33 is held on the left side to carry out a speed change process.
[0041] The pair of left and right subframes 36 are formed from metal tubes with smaller diameters than the main frame 32. The respective subframes 36 support, via footrests 45, a pair of left and right passenger footrests 46, on which a passenger sitting on the driver's seat 11 (seated behind the driver) places his or her feet.
[0042] A pair of left and right rear lateral gusset plates 38, which are formed from a metal sheet material, are each provided between the rear sections of the respective subframes 36 and the rear sections of the respective seat rails 35.
[0043] The lower frame 34 is formed from a metal tube which is relatively thick and has a large diameter in the vehicle body frame 2, and a front machine suspension 39 which holds a front side of the machine 6 is provided on a lower section of the lower frame 34.
[0044] The pair of left and right seat rails 35 are formed from metal tubes with smaller diameters than the main frame 32 and the lower frame 34. The driver's seat 11 is mounted on the seat rails 35 as shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, a lattice structure is formed by the seat rails 35, the subframes 36, and the rear main frame 32B, and therefore the rigidity of the vehicle body frame 2 can be efficiently improved. As shown in Figure 3, the seat rails 35, the subframes 36, and the rear main frame 32B form a lattice structure, and therefore the rigidity of the vehicle body frame 2 can be efficiently improved. Fig. As shown in Figure 4, a transverse frame 35C is provided between the pair of left and right seat rails 35 with remaining clearances at the front and rear, thereby also improving the stiffness of the vehicle body frame 2.
[0045] Fig. Figure 5 is a view of the main frame 32 with a peripheral configuration, viewed from the right side of the vehicle body. Furthermore, Fig. 6 a view of the main frame 32 seen from above the vehicle body with a peripheral configuration.
[0046] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 5, the machine 6, which functions as an energy unit of the motorcycle 1, is held on the rear sides of the lower frame 34 and the front sides of the rotating carrier 33.
[0047] The machine 6 is the power unit that drives the motorcycle 1 and, in the present embodiment, is a single-cylinder machine in which a cylinder unit 6B is provided vertically in a forward-inclined position on an upper front section of a crankcase 6A. An output shaft (not shown) is provided on a rear section of the crankcase 6A, and power transmission between the machine 6 and the rear wheel 8 is enabled via a chain transmission mechanism (not shown).
[0048] A single exhaust pipe 51 is connected to a front surface of the cylinder unit 6B. The exhaust pipe 51 extends from the cylinder unit 6B through one side of the lower frame 34 to a lower side of the vehicle body and extends under the crankcase 6A to the rear side of the vehicle body, and a rear end of the exhaust pipe 51 is connected to an exhaust silencer 52. The exhaust silencer 52 is located behind the rotary support 33 and outside the pivot arm 7 in the vehicle width direction.
[0049] A fuel supply device 56 is connected to a rear surface of the cylinder unit 6B via an insulator 55. The insulator 55 extends diagonally in a top view ( Fig. 6) straight rearward and outward in the direction of the vehicle width, thereby forming a straight inlet channel which extends outward in the direction of the vehicle width (to the right in the present embodiment) of the rear main frame 32B. This allows the insulator 55 and the fuel supply device 56 to be arranged using a space on one side (a right side) of the rear main frame 32B, and reduces the inlet air resistance between the cylinder unit 6B and the fuel supply device 56.
[0050] An air filter box 58, located under the driver's seat 11, is connected via a connecting pipe 57 to a rear surface of the fuel supply device 56. The connecting pipe 57 extends in plan view ( Fig. 6) diagonally straight towards a rear side and inwards in the direction of the vehicle width (center of the vehicle width), thus forming a straight intake channel which extends to a rear side of the rear main frame 32B and to the center of the vehicle width. This limits the outward projection of the connecting tube 57 in the direction of the vehicle width and reduces the intake air resistance between the fuel supply device 56 and the air filter box 58.
[0051] The connecting tube 57 described above configures a component on an outside in the vehicle width direction of the connecting tube 57 described above and therefore a narrow external appearance can be achieved in which the vehicle width is further reduced in the direction of the rear side.
[0052] It should be noted that in the side view ( Fig. 5) an intake system, which is formed from the insulator 55, the fuel supply device 56, the connecting pipe 57 and the air filter box 58, is arranged along a horizontal direction and efficiently uses a space behind the cylinder unit 6B for the intake system.
[0053] Furthermore, a container 59 is arranged in front of the rear main frame 32B and above the crankcase 6A. The container 59 adsorbs evaporated fuel from the fuel tank 10 and supplies the adsorbed fuel to the intake system (the fuel supply device 56).
[0054] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, a battery 60 is arranged on the left side of the rear main frame 32B, which serves as a power supply for the motorcycle 1. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the battery 60 is housed in a battery cover 61. The battery cover 61 is mounted on the left side of the rear main frame 32B via a mounting element 62. The battery 60 has the capacity to charge the energy generated by the machine 6 and to supply the energy to the respective parts of the vehicle body, and therefore constitutes a component that is relatively heavy among the vehicle body components.
[0055] The ABS modulator 80 is described.
[0056] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 5, the ABS modulator 80 is held on the right side by the rotary carrier 33 via a metal bracket 81.
[0057] Fig. Figure 7 is a view of the ABS modulator 80 with a peripheral configuration, viewed from the right side of the vehicle body.
[0058] The ABS modulator 80 functions as a brake force adjusting device, which controls / regulates a braking force of the front wheel brake 21 by controlling / regulating a brake fluid pressure of the front wheel brake 21, and prevents the front wheel 5 from locking up.
[0059] A base end section 81A of the bracket 81 is attached by a fastening element 82 to a surface on an outer side of the turntable 33 on the right side in the vehicle width direction. The base end section 81A of the bracket 81 is prevented from rotating around the fastening element 82 by engaging with a projecting body 33P, which projects outwards from the turntable 33 in the vehicle width direction.
[0060] The bracket 81 extends outwards in the vehicle width direction from the base end section 81A and holds a housing carrier 85 at a tip end section 81B via a rubber element 83, which acts as a shock absorber.
[0061] In particular, the tip end section 81B of the holder 81 is fitted into a recessed section provided in the vertical center of the rubber element 83, which is formed in a circular column shape. The housing support 85 is a housing to which the ABS modulator 80 is mounted. The housing support 85 is mounted by a fastening element 85T to a location (a metal section 91, which will be described later) on a metal body of the ABS modulator 80. Fig. Figure 6 represents the fastening element 85T, which is attached from a rear side of the vehicle body to the housing support 85 on the metal section 91 of the ABS modulator 80. The fastening element 85T can also be a fastening element which is attached from a lower side of the vehicle body to the base support 85 on the metal section 91 of the ABS modulator 80.
[0062] The housing carrier 85 has a mounting section 85A which rests against a lower surface of the ABS modulator 80 to hold the ABS modulator 80 from below. A fastening element 86 is attached to the underside of the mounting section 85A, so that the rubber element 83 is inserted between the holder 81 and the mounting section 85A.
[0063] The housing carrier 85 is thus held by the rotating carrier 33 via the rubber element 83 and the bracket 81. The rubber element 83 relieves a force that acts on the ABS modulator due to vertical vibration of the vehicle body 2 during driving.
[0064] Furthermore, the housing carrier 85 integrally includes a mounting section 85C, which extends upwards in the vehicle width direction from an end section of an inner side of the mounting section 85A. The mounting section 85C projects upwards in the vehicle width direction from the ABS modulator 80 through the interior of the ABS modulator 80. An upper section of the mounting section 85C is connected to a mounting element 88 via a rubber element 87, which acts as a shock absorber (see Figure 87). Fig. 6) attached, which is provided via a fastening element 89 on a right side surface of the rear main frame 32B. This also relieves a force which acts on the ABS modulator 80 due to lateral vibration of the vehicle body frame 2 during driving.
[0065] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 7, in the present configuration the ABS modulator 80 is provided at a location which, in a side view of the vehicle body, overlaps the turntable 33 and the rear main frame 32B. This allows the ABS modulator 80 to be efficiently arranged using the spaces remaining on the lateral sides of the turntable 33 and the rear main frame 32B.
[0066] Furthermore, the rotary support 33 and the rear main frame 32B are arranged further inwards in the vehicle width direction compared to the inlet system and the other frames (the seat rail 35, the subframe 36), so that the ABS modulator 80 can be arranged towards the center of the vehicle width, and outwards protrusion in the vehicle width direction can be limited.
[0067] Additionally, an arrangement area of the ABS modulator 80 is surrounded by the seat rail 35, the subframe 36 and the rear main frame 32B, so that these frames can also be used as the protective element of the ABS modulator 80.
[0068] Furthermore, the ABS modulator 80 is positioned above the pivot axis 33J and below the connecting pipe 57, which configures the inlet system, so that the ABS modulator 80 is not located outside the swivel arm 7 and the rotary carrier 33. This limits the outward protrusion of the ABS modulator 80 in the vehicle width direction.
[0069] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, the outer sides of the ABS modulator 80 and the inlet system are covered by the vehicle body panel in the direction of the vehicle width. Consequently, by arranging the ABS modulator 80 towards the center of the vehicle width, the vehicle body panel 12 can be positioned towards the center of the vehicle width, resulting in a narrow external appearance.
[0070] Furthermore, the rotating support 33 is provided at a lower point compared to the other frames (the seat rail 35, the subframe 36) and therefore the center of gravity of the motorcycle 1 can be lowered by the ABS modulator 80, which has weight.
[0071] Furthermore, the rotary support 33 is provided at the longitudinal center point of the vehicle body and therefore the center of gravity of the motorcycle 1 is easily moved towards the longitudinal center by the ABS modulator 80.
[0072] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the ABS modulator 80 comprises a metal section 91, which has a hydraulic pressure circuit, in a metal body (in the present configuration a body which is made of an aluminum alloy), a motor 92, which performs a switching of the hydraulic pressure circuit in the metal section 91 and the like, and a resin / plastic section 93, which has an electronic control unit which drives the motor 92, in a resin / plastic body.
[0073] The metal section 91 and the resin / plastic section 93 are each formed in thin rectangular parallelepiped shapes in which lengths (thicknesses) along the vehicle width direction are smaller compared to lengths in a longitudinal and a vertical direction, and are configured by being joined together in the vehicle width direction. The metal section 91 and the resin / plastic section 93 are arranged in positions which, in a top view ( Fig. 6) are inclined diagonally backwards and inwards in the direction of the vehicle width.
[0074] This results in surface 80A on the outer side of the ABS modulator 80, inclined towards the rear and the center of the vehicle width, thus limiting any outward projection of the ABS modulator 80 towards the rear. Consequently, the vehicle width narrows towards the rear at the point corresponding to the ABS modulator 80, resulting in a smooth and narrow external appearance.
[0075] The motor 92 is a drive source that powers the ABS modulator 80 and regulates the braking force of the front wheel brake 21 via the ABS modulator 80. The motor 92 is positioned inwards in the vehicle width direction from surface 80A on the outside of the ABS modulator 80. Furthermore, the axis LM of the motor 92 is inclined outwards and rearwards in the vehicle width direction.
[0076] Since the axis line LM of the motor 92 is inclined outwards in the direction of the vehicle width and to the rear, the outward protrusion of the motor 92 in the direction of the vehicle width towards the rear is restricted. This narrows the vehicle width at the point corresponding to the ABS modulator 80 towards the rear, resulting in a smooth and narrow external appearance.
[0077] Furthermore, the metal section 91, which includes the motor 92, is positioned inwards in the vehicle width direction of the ABS modulator 80. Therefore, the center of gravity of the ABS modulator 80 can be moved towards the vehicle width center by the motor 92 and the metal section 91, which includes the weights among the components of the ABS modulator 80. Additionally, a mounting point (a fastening point of the fastening element 85T) of the ABS modulator 80 and the housing carrier 85 (the housing of the ABS modulator) is positioned close to the mounting point (the mounting element 88) of the housing carrier 85 and the rear main frame 32B and is hardly affected by vibrations.
[0078] Furthermore, the ABS modulator 80 comprises the motor 92 as well as valves and the like, which configure the hydraulic pressure circuit, and is therefore a heavy component. This heavy component is arranged towards the center of the vehicle's width, which is advantageous with regard to the mass concentration of the motorcycle 1.
[0079] Additionally, as in Fig. Figure 6 shows the battery 60 and the ABS modulator 80 positioned facing each other, with the rear main frame 32B located between them. This maintains a left-to-right weight distribution or the like, and optimizes the center of gravity in a simple manner.
[0080] Furthermore, the ABS modulator 80 is located at a position which, in the top view ( Fig. 6) The connecting tube 57 overlaps, and can therefore be efficiently arranged using the space remaining around the connecting tube 57. Accordingly, the vehicle width is limited by the ABS modulator 80 and the connecting tube 57, and a narrow external appearance can be achieved.
[0081] Furthermore, the vehicle width can be made small by the ABS modulator 80 and the connecting tube 57, and therefore effects of improving the degree of freedom of movement of the driver's feet and improving the simplicity of the footrest for the driver can also be expected.
[0082] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the first hydraulic pressure line 23, which extends from the master cylinder 24, and the second hydraulic pressure line 25, which extends from the front wheel brake 21, are connected to the metal section 91 of the ABS modulator 80.
[0083] Connection points (in Fig. The hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 (designated with reference numeral 91X) of the respective ABS modulator are each provided in areas towards the rear on an upper surface of the metal section 91. The first hydraulic pressure line 23 is bent inwards in the vehicle width direction and downwards after extending upwards from the connection point in the metal section 91. This results in the first hydraulic pressure line 23 being bent downwards and inwards in the vehicle width direction of the ABS modulator 80 and projecting behind the rear main frame 32B, so that water, such as rainwater, adhering to the first hydraulic pressure line 23 can easily drip out of the ABS modulator 80.
[0084] As in Fig. 3 and Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the first hydraulic pressure line 23 is routed from a rear side over the rear main frame 32B to an opposite side (a left side) of the rear main frame 32, after bending downwards from the ABS modulator 80, and is routed along the rear main frame 32B and the front main frame 32A towards the front side of the vehicle body.
[0085] At the point along the front main frame 32A, the first hydraulic pressure line 23 extends straight along the front main frame 32A below and near the front main frame 32A and is supported by a line bracket 32S ( Fig. 3) held, which is provided on the front main frame 32A.
[0086] The first hydraulic pressure line 23 extends straight forward along the front main frame 32A, is then bent near a rear edge of the front side gusset plate 37 such that it extends straight downward to a front side (the lower frame 34), and is connected to a connecting section (hereinafter referred to as a first connecting section) 96 which is provided on an upper section of the lower frame 34.
[0087] The first hydraulic pressure line 23 is configured as a metal line 23A, which is a rigid line on the path from the ABS modulator 80 to the first connection section 96. Furthermore, the first hydraulic pressure line 23 is configured as a resin / plastic line 23B, which is a flexible line, on the path between the first connection section 96 and the master cylinder 24. The resin / plastic line 23B is made of a resin / plastic, such as synthetic rubber, and is flexible in accordance with the movement of the master cylinder 24 that accompanies steering the handle 4.
[0088] The second hydraulic pressure line 25 from the ABS modulator 80 to a connecting section (hereinafter referred to as a second connecting section) 97 is configured with a rigid metal line 25A. Furthermore, the metal line 25A of the second hydraulic pressure line 25 has the same construction as the metal line 23A of the first hydraulic pressure line 23. This allows the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 to be routed collectively, minimizing routing effort.
[0089] The second connecting section 97 is located near the first connecting section 96, which forms a connection point between the head tube 31 and the lower frame 34. The second hydraulic pressure line 25 is configured as a resin / plastic line 25B, which is a flexible line running between the second connecting section 97 and the front brake 21 (the front brake caliper 21B). The resin / plastic line 25B is made of a resin / plastic material, such as synthetic rubber, and is flexibly bendable in accordance with the movement of the front brake 21 that accompanies steering of the handlebar.
[0090] In this way, in the present configuration, the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 from the ABS modulator 80 to the connection point of the head tube 31 and the lower frame 34 are configured through the rigid lines 23A and 25A, so that the area of the flexible lines 23B and 25B can be reduced to a minimum and pressure loss can be reduced efficiently.
[0091] Furthermore, as stated in Fig. 6 and Fig. Figure 7 shows the resin / plastic section 93 extending forward from the metal section 91 and a connecting section 93A ( Fig. 7), which projects inwards in the direction of the vehicle width, is provided on a forward-projecting section. A wiring harness 95, which extends from the wheel speed sensor 30 and a power supply line of the battery 60 and the like, is connected to the connecting section 93A. The wiring harness 95 is arranged in front of the rear main frame 32B by being routed inwards in the direction of the vehicle width from the connecting section 93A, as shown in Fig. 6 and Fig. 7 shown.
[0092] Accordingly, separation distances between the wiring harness 95 and the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 can be ensured, and the wiring harness 95 can be arranged using a space remaining in front of the rear main frame 32B.
[0093] As described above, the ABS modulator (brake force adjusting device) 80 is located near the rotating support 33 and can therefore be positioned using the space remaining on the lateral side of the rotating support 33. The rotating support 33 is positioned further inboard in the vehicle width direction compared to the other frames (the seat rail 35, the subframe 36) and is located at a low position, so that the center of gravity of the vehicle body is easily located at the lower point, while limiting any increase in vehicle width due to the ABS modulator 80. Accordingly, the location of the center of gravity of the vehicle body is easily optimized compared to the case where the ABS modulator 80 is located at a high point on a front side of the vehicle body.
[0094] Furthermore, the ABS modulator 80 and the battery 60 are arranged at the mutually facing locations, with the rear main frame 32B located between them, and therefore the weight distribution of the vehicle body is easily optimized by the ABS modulator 80 and the battery 60, which have weights.
[0095] Furthermore, the axis line LM of the motor 92 of the ABS modulator 80 is inclined outwards in the direction of the vehicle width and to the rear, thus limiting the outward projection of the motor 92 in the direction of the vehicle width towards the rear. Consequently, the vehicle width at the point corresponding to the ABS modulator 80 is reduced towards the rear, and the ease of foot placement for the driver is improved.
[0096] Furthermore, the ABS modulator 80 comprises the metal section 91, which includes the motor 92, and the metal section 91 is arranged towards the center of the vehicle body, so that the center of gravity of the ABS modulator 80 can be brought towards the center of the vehicle's width. Furthermore, as shown in Fig. Figure 6 shows the mounting location (the attachment point of the fastening element 85T) of the ABS modulator 80 and the housing carrier 85, and the mounting location (the attachment point of the fastening element 89) of the housing carrier 85 and the rear main frame 32B. This limits the vibration of the ABS modulator 80 on the rear main frame 32B and restricts the influence of external vibration on the ABS modulator 80.
[0097] Furthermore, the connecting pipe 57, which configures the inlet channel, extends in the top view ( Fig. 6) diagonally rearward and toward the center of the vehicle width. The connecting tube 57 is located above the ABS modulator 80 and is inclined rearward and toward the center of the vehicle width along surface 80A on the outside of the ABS modulator 80 in the direction of the vehicle width. According to this configuration, the connecting tube 57 and the ABS modulator 80 achieve a smooth and narrow external appearance by further restricting the vehicle width toward the rear. This also improves the ease of use of a footrest for the driver.
[0098] Since the bracket 81, which extends from the rotary support 33 under the ABS modulator 80 and holds the ABS modulator 80 from below, is enclosed in such a way that the bracket 81 and the like do not protrude outwards from the ABS modulator 80 in the vehicle width direction, the longitudinal direction or the like, the mounting structure of the ABS modulator 80 can also be made compact.
[0099] Since the connection points of the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 in the ABS modulator 80 are located towards the rear and towards the center of the vehicle body, the space remaining around the rear of the ABS modulator 80 is utilized, and a filter space for draining water, such as rainwater, that adheres to the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 is easily provided. Furthermore, the connection point of the wiring harness 95 in the ABS modulator 80 faces the front, thus ensuring sufficient separation distances between the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 and the wiring harness 95.
[0100] Furthermore, the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25, which extend forward from the ABS modulator 80, are configured as metal lines 23A and 25A up to a predetermined point (the junction of the head tube 31 and the lower frame 34) near the head tube 31, and are configured as resin / plastic lines 23B and 25B from this predetermined point onward. This allows for larger sections of the metal lines 23A and 25A and reduces pressure loss, while the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 are made movable in response to handle steering by the flexibility of the resin / plastic lines 23B and 25B.
[0101] Furthermore, since the first and second hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 are routed under the main frame 32, they can be efficiently arranged using the space under the head tube 31. This routing along the main frame 32 also improves assembly. Additionally, the hydraulic pressure lines 23 and 25 can be easily cooled by the airflow passing under the main frame 32.
[0102] Furthermore, since the rotary support 33 has the mounting sections 33A and 33B which hold the machine 6, the rotary support 33 can also be used as the machine suspension and the number of components can be reduced.
[0103] For example, in the aforementioned embodiment, the case of applying the present invention to the in Fig.The motorcycle 1 shown in Figure 1 is described, but the present invention is not limited to it. For example, the present invention can be applied to a motorcycle in which the main frame 32 has a plurality of frames with lateral gaps remaining, without being limited to the motorcycle 1 which has the single main frame 32. Furthermore, the case of applying the present invention to the motorcycle 1 which has the ABS modulator 80 with one channel is described, but the present invention can be applied to a motorcycle which has an ABS modulator with several channels corresponding to the front and rear wheels 5 and 8. Furthermore, the rear wheel brake 22 can be a disc brake device.
[0104] Furthermore, machine 6 is described as the drive unit by mentioning it as an example, but the drive unit is not limited to this, and for example the drive unit may have a configuration which uses an electric motor powered by a battery.
[0105] Furthermore, the present invention can be applied to spread-seat vehicles, comprising spread-seat vehicles other than motorcycles. Spread-seat vehicles are vehicles that include all vehicles that are ridden astride a vehicle body, and which, in addition to motorcycles (including bicycles with auxiliary motors), also include tricycles and four-wheeled vehicles classified as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
