Description

Technical area

[0001] The embodiments described herein generally relate to a transfer device for powdered and granular materials and a machine tool that transfers powdered and granular materials. State of the art

[0002] Machine tools such as lathes and milling machines that can precisely machine metals have become indispensable today. During metal processing by machine tools, waste, so-called cutting chips, are generated in various shapes such as spiral, ribbon, and chip-like. The deposition of chips inside a machine tool can lead to device malfunction and a reduction in machining accuracy, and therefore, the chips generated inside the machine tool must be discharged to the outside. Therefore, for example, a method is known in which a chip conveying device is installed inside a machine tool and the chips generated inside the machine tool are discharged to the outside (e.g., Patent Literature 1). [0006] Powder and granular material transfer devices according to the first and second embodiments will be described below with reference to the drawings. In the following description, the same reference numerals denote components with substantially identical functions and structures, and repeated descriptions are made only when necessary.

[0007] In the first and second embodiments, "powdery and granular material" refers to scraps generated during metal processing, which have various shapes, such as spiral shapes, ribbon shapes, chip shapes, and powder shapes. Of course, the objects to be transferred by the powdery and granular material transfer devices according to the first and second embodiments are not limited to metal scraps, and wastes generated during various types of processing, such as resin processing and woodworking, may be transferred.

[0008] The following is based on reference to Fig. 1 to Fig. 5, a transfer device 10 for powdered and granular material according to a first embodiment is described. The transfer device 10 for powdered and granular material according to the first embodiment is installed inside a machining chamber 1 of an NC lathe. Fig. 1 shows the interior of the machining chamber 1 of the NC lathe. As in Fig. 1, a main shaft 70 with a clamping device 71 for holding a workpiece (component) to be machined and a tool rest (not shown) that accommodates a variety of tools for machining a workpiece are installed inside the machining chamber 1. As a result of the operation of the main shaft 70 and the tool rest according to a machining program, the workpiece held by the clamping device 71 can be machined by a tool from the tool rest. A chip conveyor 80 is provided inside the machining chamber 1 as a conveying device for conveying the powdery and granular material generated during machining of the workpiece out of the machining chamber 1.The chip conveying device 80 is configured such that a conveying body 81 formed of an endless annular belt, a chain, or the like is arranged around a rotating member such as a pulley or a sprocket and is rotated by a drive source such as a motor via the rotating member.

[0009] The chip conveyor device 80 is installed outside the NC lathe, and the conveyor body 81 is provided to extend to a predetermined position below the main shaft 70 inside the machining chamber 1. When the chip conveyor device 80 is driven, the conveyor body 81 rotates, and the powdery and granular material deposited on the conveyor body 81 can be conveyed out of the machining chamber 1. In order to efficiently convey the powdery and granular material out of the machining chamber 1 using the chip conveyor device 80, it is necessary to collect the powdery and granular material scattered inside the machining chamber 1 onto the conveyor body 81.

[0010] The powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment transfers the powdery and granular material generated during processing of a workpiece and scattered inside the processing chamber 1 onto the conveyor body 81. The powdery and granular material transfer device 10 is installed in a position between the main shaft 70 and the conveyor body 81, around the main shaft 70, where many powdery and granular materials are scattered, so that many powdery and granular materials can be collected on the conveyor body 81.

[0011] In order to make the explanation of the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment easy to understand, an orthogonal coordinate system (X, Y, Z) of the inside of the machining chamber 1 of the NC lathe in which the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 is installed is shown in Fig. 1. That is, an axis parallel to the direction of gravity is defined as the Z axis, an axis parallel to the rotation axis of the main shaft is defined as the X axis, and an axis perpendicular to the X axis and the Z axis is defined as the Y axis. An XY plane is parallel to a horizontal plane. For example, the chip conveyor device 80 is installed so that the conveying surface of the conveyor body 81 is parallel to the XY plane, that is, horizontal.

[0012] As in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, the powder and granular material transfer device 10 has a base portion 20, a plate 30 covering a surface of the base portion 20, and a vibrating portion that vibrates the plate 30.

[0013] The base portion 20 is designed to have an inclined surface 21. Typically, the base portion 20 is configured as a block body (truncated quadrangular prism) with a vertical section in the shape of a right-angled triangle. By horizontally installing the base portion 20 inside the processing chamber 1, an inclined surface thereof can be the inclined surface 21 inclined with respect to the Z-axis. The base portion 20 is provided at a position where a lower edge of the inclined surface 21 approaches the conveying surface of the conveying body 81. The configuration of the base portion 20 is not limited to the above, as long as the base portion 20 has the inclined surface 21 inclined with respect to the Z-axis direction. For example, the base portion 20 is configured to be plate-shaped, and the base portion 20 itself may be inclined and installed inside the processing chamber 1. At this time, the surface of the base portion 20 may be formed as an inclined surface 21 that slopes with respect to the Z-axis direction. Furthermore, a bottom surface of the processing chamber 1 itself may be inclined with respect to the Z-axis direction, and its bottom surface may be formed as an inclined surface 21. In this case, the bottom plate of the processing chamber 1 corresponds to the base portion 20.

[0014] An upper edge of the plate 30 is detachably attached to an upper portion of the inclined surface 21 of the base portion 20 and is suspended along the inclined surface 21. That is, an edge on a lower side and edges on both sides of the plate are in an open state in which they are not attached anywhere. The plate 30 has a size that covers the inclined surface 21 up to at least a lower edge of the inclined surface 21 in a state in which the upper edge thereof is attached to the upper part of the inclined surface 21. As shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, as a structure in which the plate 30 is detachably attached to the inclined surface 21, an elongated plate-shaped fixing metal fitting 51, in which a plurality of screw holes 55 are opened, is fixed to the upper portion of the inclined surface 21 along a left-right direction. The plate 30 is fixed to the fixing metal fitting 51 by means of fixing tools 35 such as bolts or screws inserted into the screw holes 55. The plate 30 is at least flexible enough to be vibrated by the vibrating portion. Typically, a glass plate impregnated with a resin can be used as the plate 30. If the plate 30 is flexible, it may of course be made of a metal, but from the viewpoint of safety, a glass plate impregnated with a resin is preferable. It is desirable that the plate 30 lacks elasticity so as not to suppress vibrations. Furthermore, the plate 30 has a low coefficient of friction, typically a lower coefficient of friction than the inclined surface 21, to promote the downward sliding of powdery and granular materials, such as cutting chips. Furthermore, it is desirable that the plate 30 be non-sticky to prevent the powdery and granular materials from adhering to the surface. Additionally, the plate 30 may have chemical resistance and water resistance, depending on the environment in which the plate 30 is used. The plate 30 having these physical properties is typically a fluoroplastic glass plate.

[0015] As the vibration section of the powder and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment, an ejection section 40 is installed, which ejects air, typically a fluid supplied from an external fluid supply device (air compressor 60), from an upper part to a lower part between the inclined surface 21 and the plate 30. Due to the flow of the air ejected between the plate 30 and the inclined surface 21, the plate 30 undulates and vibrates.

[0016] As in Fig. 2, the ejection section 40 has a cylindrical body 41 in a bottomed circular or rectangular cylindrical shape. The cylindrical body 41 is arranged parallel to a width direction of the inclined surface 21 between the inclined surface 21 and the plate 30 on the upper part of the inclined surface 21. As shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, a plurality of discharge ports 43 are linearly arranged on the cylindrical body 41 at equal intervals along a center line. The air supplied from the air compressor 60 is discharged from the discharge ports 43. The cylindrical body 41 is installed in a direction in which a discharge direction of the discharge port 43 is parallel to the inclined surface 21 and directed from the upper part to the lower part. At one end of the cylindrical body 41, a connecting pipe 45 is provided with a port 47 for connecting an air hose 61 extending from the external air compressor 60. The port 47 corresponds to an intake port for receiving compressed air inside the cylindrical body 41.

[0017] As in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, a winding-preventing metal fitting 53 having a U- or L-shape is provided at a position at the upper part of the inclined surface 21 of the cylindrical body 41 so that the plate 30 is prevented from being wound by the cylindrical body 41. In the first embodiment, the winding-preventing metal fitting 53 is integrally formed with the previously described fixing metal fitting 51 and provided as a metal fitting 50.

[0018] The powder and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment operates as follows.

[0019] The air compressor 60 or a solenoid valve provided between the air compressor 60 and the cylindrical body 41 is controlled to continuously discharge air from the discharge port 43 of the cylindrical body 41. When the air compressor 60 is driven and the supply of compressed air from the air compressor 60 is started, air is continuously discharged at high speed from the plurality of holes 43 of the cylindrical body 41, which is located at the upper part of the inclined surface 21, toward the lower part of the inclined surface 21. The air discharged from the cylindrical body 41 flows along the inclined surface 21 and is released between the lower edge of the plate 30 and the inclined surface 21. As the air flows at high speed between the plate 30 and the inclined surface 21, its pressure is reduced. The air is discharged from the bottom and side edges of plate 30, and pressure is restored. Due to a condensation flow and rarefaction of the air, plate 30 vibrates, undulating from the top to the bottom.

[0020] In the transfer device 10 for powdery and granular material according to the first embodiment, the plate 30 is vibrated at high speed so that it moves in a wave-like manner, whereby the powdery and granular material on the plate 30 can be transferred to the conveyor body 81. As shown particularly in Fig. 5, while the plate 30 vibrates at high speed, a powdery and granular material W is repeatedly thrown up by the plate 30 and falls back onto the plate 30 under its own weight. Since the plate 30 covers the inclined surface 21, the powdery and granular material W is thrown upward in a direction perpendicular to the inclined surface 21, that is, toward the conveyor body 81. The powdery and granular material W thrown up by the plate 30 falls down to a position at the lower part of the inclined surface 21 and closer to the conveyor body 81 than before being thrown up. Since the plate 30 is inclined along the inclined surface 21, the powdery and granular material W slides down on the plate 30 and rolls down.In this way, the powdery and granular material W is repeatedly thrown up from the platen 30 by the high-speed vibration of the platen 30 and rolls (slides) on the platen 30, whereby the powdery and granular material W can be gradually transferred toward the conveyor body 81 arranged at the lower edge of the inclined surface 21. Since the powdery and granular materials do not remain on the platen 30 and can be sequentially transferred to the conveyor body 81, the powdery and granular material is prevented from remaining on the platen 30 and forming a large lump and from closing the conveying surface of the conveyor body 81. Therefore, by using the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment, long-term unmanned continuous operation of the NC lathe can be performed.

[0021] Since the powdery and granular material W rebounds from the plate 30, the plate 30 does not necessarily need to be a slippery material with a low friction coefficient. Therefore, it is possible to use various materials that correspond to an application environment and application situation, such as a material with high durability, a material with high chemical resistance, and an inexpensive material, as the material of the plate 30 without worrying about the friction coefficient. In addition, since it is not necessary to let the powdery and granular material W slide on the sheet 30, the inclination angle of the base portion 20 can be reduced. Since the inclination angle of the base part 20 can be reduced, a height of the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 is pressed, and thus a degree of freedom of installation can be improved.

[0022] Since the configuration is such that the plate 30 covering the inclined surface 21 of the base portion 20 is vibrated instead of directly vibrating the base portion 20 having a large structure, it can be said that the safety is higher compared with the case where the base portion 20 is directly vibrated.

[0023] In addition, since the plate 30 is attachable and detachable with respect to the base portion 20, the plate 30 can be easily replaced when the plate 30 is damaged, the plate 30 becomes dirty due to aging, or the physical properties change, and the maintainability can be said to be high.

[0024] The following is based on reference to Fig. 6 to Fig. 9, a powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to a second embodiment is described. The powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment differs from the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment in the configuration of the ejection section 40 that vibrates the plate 30. The ejection section 40 of the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment is configured to eject air from the upper part to the lower part of the inclined surface 21 along the inclined surface 21 between the plate 30 and the inclined surface 21.On the other hand, an ejection section 110 of the powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment is configured to eject air from an inclined surface 101 toward a plate 30, typically in a direction orthogonal to the inclined surface 101.

[0025] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the inclined surface 101 of the base portion 100 is covered with the plate 30, and the plate 30 is fixed to the inclined surface 101 by a fixing tool 35 at an upper edge of the inclined surface 101. The plate 30 can be fixed to the inclined surface 101 and does not necessarily have to be directly attached to the inclined surface 101. For example, the plate 30 can be indirectly fixed to the inclined surface 101 via a fixing block provided on the inclined surface 101. A lower side edge and both side edges of the sheet 30 are not fixed to the inclined surface 101. Of course, the plate 30 can be lifted depending on the pressure at the time of ejection, and therefore the lower side edge and both side edges of the plate 30 can be fixed to the inclined surface 101. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 7, a plurality of fastening portions 105 for inserting the fastening tools 35 are provided in the inclined surface 101. Furthermore, a plurality of ejection openings 103 for ejecting air are arranged on the inclined surface 101 in the longitudinal and transverse directions over its entire surface. The center lines of the plurality of ejection openings 103 are typically perpendicular to the inclined surface 101. It is not disputed that the center line of the ejection openings 103 is inclined at an angle of more than 0 degrees and less than 90 degrees with respect to the inclined surface 101.

[0026] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, a hollow air joint 104 is screwed into the discharge port 103 from the back of the inclined surface 101. One end of an air hose 65 is connected to the air joint 104. The other end of the air hose 65 is connected to an air hose 61 extending from an external air compressor 60 via a connecting component, a solenoid valve, and the like.

[0027] An air supply path including air connections 104, connecting components, and solenoid valves arranged between the air compressor 60 and a plurality of discharge ports 103 can be configured according to the manner in which air is to be discharged from the plurality of discharge ports 103. For example, if the air discharged from the plurality of discharge ports 103 is to be individually controlled, the air supply path is configured to include a plurality of solenoid valves, each corresponding to the plurality of discharge ports 103. If the air discharged from the plurality of discharge ports 103 is to be controlled according to a plurality of grouped discharge ports 103, the air supply path is configured so that the plurality of grouped discharge ports 103 share a solenoid valve. For example, a common solenoid valve is provided for each of the nine discharge ports 103 arranged in a left-right direction of the inclined surface 101.

[0028] The powder and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment operates as follows.

[0029] The air compressor 60 or the solenoid valve is controlled to intermittently discharge air in pulses from the plurality of discharge ports 103. By intermittently discharging air in pulses from the discharge ports 103, a plate portion covering the discharge ports 103 repeatedly expands and contracts. By increasing the size of the plate portion that repeatedly expands and contracts, the entire plate 30 can be vibrated. Specifically, the plate 30 can be vibrated at an optional frequency corresponding to a period of a discharge pulse.

[0030] In the powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment described above, similar effects are achieved as in the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment. That is, as shown in Fig.9, the powdery and granular material W on the plate portion repeats the motion of being thrown up by the plate 30 and falling onto the plate 30 under its own weight. Since the plate 30 is inclined along the inclined surface 101, the powdery and granular material W is thrown upward in the direction orthogonal to the inclined surface 101, that is, toward the conveyor body 81. The powdery and granular material W thrown up by the plate 30 falls downward to a position on a lower part of the inclined surface 101, which is closer to the conveyor body 81 than before being thrown up.In this way, it is possible to gradually convey the powdery and granular material W toward the conveyor body 81 arranged at the lower edge of the inclined surface 101 by vibrating the plate 30 at high speed, while the powdery and granular material W is repeatedly thrown up by the plate 30.

[0031] Since in the powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment, it is not necessary to install a structure on the inclined surface 101 as in the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment, and the entire inclined surface 101 of the base portion 100 can be made flat and vibrated, the powdery and granular material can be caused to slide downward along the inclined surface without being caught by unevenness of the inclined surface, and the powdery and granular material can be efficiently transferred to the conveying body 81.In this way, the powder and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment has an advantage over the powder and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment in terms of efficient transfer of the powder and granules.

[0032] Furthermore, in the powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment, it is necessary to open the plurality of discharge ports 103 in the inclined surface 101 of the base 100 and configure the air supply path on the back of the holes, so the inclined surface 21 itself must be modified. Therefore, in order to configure the powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment with the bottom plate of the processing chamber 1 of the NC lathe as the inclined surface, the NC lathe must be specially modified for this purpose. On the other hand, in the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment, the vibration section can be installed without modifying the inclined surface 21.Accordingly, the powder and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment can be mounted on the existing NC lathe without modifying the NC lathe. Thus, the powder and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment has an advantage over the powder and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment with respect to the use of the existing NC lathe.

[0033] Furthermore, the powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment is configured to intermittently discharge air in a pulsed manner, while the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment is configured to continuously discharge air. Accordingly, the powdery and granular material transfer device 90 according to the second embodiment has an advantage over the powdery and granular material transfer device 10 according to the first embodiment in terms of reducing the amount of compressed air to be used.

[0034] Although the powder and granular material transfer devices 10 and 90 according to the first and second embodiments are used on the NC lathe, the application is not limited to the NC lathe. The powder and granular material transfer devices 10 and 90 can be mounted on various machine tools that produce powder and granular materials, such as a cutting machine and a milling machine. Furthermore, the powder and granular material transfer device can be used alone as a chip conveyor 80 to transport powder and granular materials, and it can also be used in combination with other machines, devices, systems, and the like.

[0035] Since the powdery and granular material transfer devices 10 and 90 according to the first and second embodiments transfer the powdery and granular materials onto the plate 30 in such a way that the powdery and granular materials are propelled upwards by vibration of the plates 30 at high speed, the plates 30 can at least have flexibility. However, the plates can be improved in the transfer efficiency of the powdery and granular materials by having both low friction properties and flexibility. That is, since the plate 30 itself is inclined, the powdery and granular materials deposited on the plate 30 can slide (roll) downward to the lower part of the inclined surface by their own weight by making the plate 30 from a material with a low friction coefficient. In this way, by making the plate 30 easily slide, not only the powdery and granular material can be thrown up and transferred through the plate 30, but also the powdery and granular material is transferred while sliding on the plate 30, so that it is possible to improve the transfer efficiency of the powdery and granular material compared with the case where the plate 30 is only thrown up.

[0036] In the first and second embodiments, the plates are vibrated by supplying air between the inclined surfaces and the plates. However, the configuration of the vibrating section is not limited to this, as long as only it can vibrate the plate. For example, a plurality of vibrators can be installed as the vibrating section between the inclined surface and the plate, and the plate can be physically vibrated. Further, a swing mechanism that clamps the upper edge of the plate to swing the plate in the direction orthogonal to the inclined surface is adopted as the vibrating section, and the plate can be physically undulated.

[0037] In the first and second embodiments, the inclined surfaces are flat, and the inclination angles are fixed in each position. However, if the height of the inclined surfaces decreases from the upper edges to the lower edges, the inclined surfaces may not be flat. For example, the inclined surface may be arcuately curved, consist of a plurality of inclined surfaces with different inclination angles, or a combination thereof.

[0038] In the first and second embodiments, it is described that the discharge ports through which air is discharged are formed as circular holes, but the discharge ports are not limited to circular holes but may also be thin gaps (slits) made of filaments.

[0039] Although embodiments of the present disclosure have been described in detail, the present disclosure is not limited to the individual embodiments described above. Various additions, replacements, modifications, partial deletions, and the like to these embodiments are possible within the scope without departing from the gist of the invention or within the scope without departing from the idea and spirit of the present invention, which can be understood from the contents described in the claims and their equivalents.
