Abstract
Description
Technical area
[0001] The present invention relates to a fabric pressing element (also referred to as a press element) attached to a sewing machine, and relates to an improvement of the fabric pressing element which presses a fabric or material around a needle position during sewing operations. State of the art
[0002] A sewing machine is equipped with a plate-shaped fabric presser that is connected to the lower end of a presser bar. The fabric presser presses the fabric around a needle position. This allows the needle to move smoothly up and down as it pierces the fabric during sewing.
[0003] When sewing different types of seams with a sewing machine, it is advantageous to use a fabric presser suitable for each type of seam. Therefore, before sewing, the fabric presser is replaced with one appropriate for the specific seam. However, attaching and removing the fabric presser, which is connected to the lower end of the presser bar, is extremely tedious.
[0004] Therefore, in the prior art, patent document 1 listed below proposes a fabric press element which can be adapted to different types of sewing by simply replacing a section of the fabric press element without having to attach and detach the fabric press element from the press bar.
[0005] The tissue compression element comprises a main body section connected to a compression bar and a fastening element that can be attached to and detached from the main body section. The main body section includes an arm section extending in a rearward direction from the tissue compression element, and the fastening element includes an engagement area that engages with a distal end of the arm section of the main body section. [0006] Patent document 1: Japanese utility model application JP S47-822 Summary of the invention: Technical problem
[0007] In the fabric press element described in patent document 1, the fastening element is supported by a single arm section formed within the main body area. In this case, the fastening element abuts the arm section at one side edge but projects freely over a relatively wide area of the other side edge. Therefore, if a fabric or similar material comes into contact with the exposed side edge of the fastening element, there is a possibility that the fastening element will detach during sewing.
[0008] To prevent the fastener from falling off, it is therefore conceivable to firmly engage the arm area of the main body area and the engagement area of the fastener, but if the arm area of the main body area and the engagement area of the fastener are firmly engaged, the problem is that it is difficult to replace the fastener.
[0009] In view of the foregoing points, an objective of the present invention is to provide a fabric pressing element for a sewing machine that can prevent the fastening element from falling off and that is easily replaceable. Problem solving
[0010] To achieve this objective, the present invention provides a fabric press element configured to be connected to a lower end of a press bar of a sewing machine, wherein the fabric press element comprises a main body area, a pair of arm areas configured to extend from the main body area along a feed direction of a fabric, and a fastening element configured to be attachable and detachable between the two arm areas.
[0011] According to the present invention, the fastening element fitted and secured between the two arm areas can be easily replaced, since it is attachable and detachable.
[0012] Furthermore, since both side edges of the fastening element are protected between the two arm sections by both arm sections, it is possible to reduce accidental external contact and prevent the fastening element from falling off. As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible both to prevent the fastening element from falling off and to allow for easy replacement.
[0013] Furthermore, in the present invention, both arm sections include a connecting section configured to join end sections on a side opposite the main body section. Since a tissue feeder element is formed within a frame formed by the main body section, both arm sections, and the connecting section, the strength of the tissue feeder element can be adequately ensured.
[0014] Furthermore, the fastener has a fitting area configured to allow insertion into and removal from the connection area. By inserting the fitting area of the fastener into the connection area, the fastener can be held firmly between the two arm sections, and it can be more reliably prevented from falling off.
[0015] Furthermore, both arm sections include a guide area configured to guide the fastener from below, between the two arm sections, to a mounting position on an opposing surface where the two arm sections face each other. Because the guide area directs the fastener from below both arm sections to the mounting position, the fastener can be easily installed without the connecting area obstructing the process.
[0016] Furthermore, the fastener is made of a transparent material. This makes it easy to visually identify the fabric or seam through the fastener during sewing, thus improving functionality. Brief description of the drawings Fig. Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating a fabric pressing element; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a main area, seen from a bottom perspective; Fig. Figure 3 is a perspective view of a fastener; Fig. Figure 4 is a subpage view showing a protruding area, and Fig. Figure 5 is a diagram showing the replacement of the fastener. Description of embodiments
[0017] One embodiment of the present invention is described with reference to the drawings. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, a fabric pressing element 1 of the present embodiment has a main body area 2 and a fastening element 3.
[0018] The main body section 2 is provided with a mounting section 4, which is attached to a lower end of a press bar (not shown) of the sewing machine. Hereinafter, the mounting section 4 is referred to as the proximal end of the main body section 2, and the opposite side of the mounting section 4 is referred to as the distal end.
[0019] A pair of arm sections 5 and 6, extending parallel to each other, are provided at a distal end of the main body section 2. A connecting section 7 is provided at the distal end of both arm sections 5 and 6. The connecting section 7 is formed in a rod shape orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of both arm sections 5 and 6 and integrally connects the distal end of both arm sections 5 and 6.
[0020] A rectangular opening area 8 is formed within the main body area 2, both arm areas 5 and 6 and the connection area 7, and the fastening element 3 is attached and fixed to the opening area 8 in a way that is both attachable and detachable. Fig. Figure 2 shows the opening area 8 in a state where the fastening element 3 is released.
[0021] A guide projection 9 and a stepped area 10 for guiding the fastening element 3 are formed on an inner surface where both arm areas 5 and 6 are opposite each other. The guide projection 9 corresponds to a guide area of the present invention and projects, as shown in Fig. 2, shown, extends inwards from the opening area 8 (i.e., between the two arm areas 5 and 6). The stepped area 10 is formed between the guide projection 9 and the connecting area 7. In Fig. Figure 2 shows an inside of one arm area 5, and the same applies to an inside of the other arm area 6.
[0022] The guide projection 9 acts as a rail and guides a lateral edge of the fastening element 3. An inclined area 11, which gradually rises towards a proximal end, is formed at a distal end of the guide projection 9. The fastening element 3 is guided by the inclined area 11 from below both arm sections 5 and 6 to a fastening position between both arm sections 5 and 6, and the fastening element 3 is easily mounted to the opening area 8.
[0023] Fastening element 3 is made of a transparent plastic material (transparent material). As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the fastening element 3 is provided with a fitting area 12 at its distal end. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, the pass area 12 is fitted into the connection area 7.
[0024] By fitting the fitting area 12 into the connection area 7, the fastening element 3 is fitted and fixed between the two arm areas 5 and 6, preventing accidental falling off and reliably maintaining the fixed state.
[0025] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, 12 tabs 13 for hooking are formed on an upper edge of the fitting area. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, the fastening element 3 can be easily released by the tabs 13 in a state fitted between the two arm areas 5 and 6, thus facilitating the replacement work.
[0026] Additionally, as in Fig. Figure 3 shows the fastening element 3 being provided with stop areas 14 that project to both side edges, and with guide groove areas 15 that run together with the stop areas 14.
[0027] The stop areas 14 of the fastening element 3 abut from below against the in Fig. 2 shown stepped area 10. Accordingly, it can be prevented that the fastening element 3 loosens upwards, even if a force is exerted on the fastening element 3 from below upwards.
[0028] The guide groove areas 15 of the fastening element 3 extend along the in Fig. The fastening element 3 is guided by the guide projection 9 shown in the diagram. Accordingly, the fastening element 3 can be guided between both arm sections 5 and 6 from below both arm sections 5 and 6, and the fastening work can be carried out smoothly.
[0029] Additionally, as in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, projecting areas 16, which extend inwards (towards the fastening element 3), are formed at the inner corner areas 51 and 61 of both arm areas 5 and 6, which abut a proximal end edge 31 of the fastening element 3. The projecting areas 16 are recessed in areas 32 (see Figure 4). Fig. 3) introduced, which are formed on a proximal end corner area of the fastening element 3, and close a gap between the proximal end edge 31 of the fastening element 3 and the internal corner areas 51 and 61 of both arm areas 5 and 6.
[0030] Accordingly, it can be prevented that a sewing thread gets between the proximal end edge 31 of the fastening element 3 and the inner corner areas 51 and 61 of both arm areas 5 and 6, and it is possible to carry out the sewing work smoothly.
[0031] With the configuration described above, the fastening element 3 is inserted and attached to the inner opening area 8, which is surrounded by the main body area 2, the two arm areas 5 and 6 and the connection area 7, and movement in a left-right direction (to each of the arm areas 5 and 6), in a front-back direction (to the connection area 7 and to the main body area 2) and in an upward direction is restricted, thus maintaining high fastening stability.
[0032] Furthermore, since the left and right edges and a distal end edge of the fastening element 3 are protected by the two arm areas 5 and 6 and the connection area 7, it is prevented that the fastening element 3 is touched from the outside, and the fastening element 3 cannot accidentally fall off.
[0033] Since the fastening element 3 is made of a transparent material, the condition of the fabric or the sewing thread can also be easily visually recognized during sewing work or the like, so that high functionality can be achieved and smooth sewing work can be carried out.
[0034] Furthermore, by providing the fastening element 3, which, for example, as in Fig. 5 shown between the two arm areas 5 and 6, the fastening element 3 can be attached and detached, depending on the intended use, it can be replaced by other fastening elements 17 and 18.
[0035] In the present embodiment, the fastening element 3 is shown to be made of a transparent material, and a fastening element made of an opaque material or a partially transparent material can be used by having the same configuration as the fastening element 3.
[0036] Furthermore, in the present embodiment, the guide areas of both arm sections 5 and 6 are designed as projections (guide projections 9) and configured such that the guide groove areas 15 of the left and right edges of the fastening element 3 are guided, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, although not shown, projections can be provided on the left and right edges of the fastening element 3 and configured such that the projections of the fastening element 3 are guided by the guide areas of both arm sections 5 and 6 as grooves.
