Abstract
Description
[0001] : Charging a motorhome, camper or caravan via a vehicle charging station for electric cars for residential use.
[0002] The current state of the art is that charging stations for electric cars, used for charging electric vehicles, are now widespread and standardized. These sockets enable the charging of vehicles with electric motors and have certain performance characteristics and specifications, but are only used for propulsion purposes.
[0003] The use of motorhomes, campervans, or caravans as mobile living spaces is an established practice. Such vehicles are equipped with various electrical appliances and systems that typically require electricity.
[0004] Power supply solutions for motorhomes: Current solutions for powering motorhomes while parked or camping often include generators, solar panels, or external power connections at motorhome pitches or campsites. However, these solutions may not offer the same efficiency or convenience as directly using an electric vehicle charging station.
[0005] The object of the invention, or rather its main functionality, is to supply the vehicle (motorhome, camper, or caravan) with electrical energy via a standardized electric vehicle charging station in order to operate residential functions such as lighting, cooling, heating, electronic devices, and other electrical consumers within the vehicle. This concept aims to create a practical and efficient way to supply motorhomes and similar vehicles with electricity when they are parked away from campsites. Batteries (usually lithium-ion, but others can also be used) are charged via the electric vehicle charging station, thus ensuring the camper's self-sufficiency for a period of time.
[0006] The claims being made do not focus on the vehicle's propulsion system (whether electric or conventional), but solely on the use of the vehicle charging station for electric cars as a source of electricity for the vehicle, particularly while it is being used as living space. The focus is therefore on providing a convenient and sustainable energy supply system for residential purposes in these vehicles. This energy is typically stored temporarily in batteries. Thus, charging stations are only used for short-term charging.
[0007] The figure in the drawing depicts a motorhome with a possible charging infrastructure setup. However, this can also be implemented differently depending on the state of the art.
[0008] The idea to be protected is to use an electric vehicle charging station for a motorhome, campervan, or caravan exclusively for residential purposes. The focus is not on powering the vehicle, but on using the charging station to supply electricity for the living functions used in the vehicle. The proposed innovation aims to close this gap by providing a simple and effective method for supplying vehicles with electrical energy while they are being used as living quarters. By directly utilizing an existing electric vehicle charging station, a user-friendly power supply is created, improving comfort and convenience for users.
Claims
[1] Structure for the use of charging stations for electric vehicles to supply power to a motorhome, camper or caravan, is characterized by that the electrical energy is used exclusively to supply electricity for residential purposes, without the vehicle being powered by this energy. [2] The device for implementing the structure according to claim 1 is characterized by that it comprises a charging adapter with electrical components which is connected to a standardised vehicle charging station for electric vehicles in order to transfer electrical energy from the charging station into the vehicle and use it there for residential purposes. [3] Charging system for motorhomes, campers or caravans, consisting of: a car charging socket or a cable with a charging plug, an internal electrical distribution system in the vehicle, whereby the system is specifically designed to use the electrical energy from the vehicle charging station or wallbox to supply power for residential purposes in the vehicle, both for charging batteries and for direct use. [4] The structure for controlling the power supply in a motorhome, camper or caravan that is connected to a vehicle charging station for electric vehicles, characterized by that the electricity supply is controlled so that it is used efficiently and safely for residential purposes. [5] Integrated vehicle charging station that allows both vehicle charging and residential power supply, characterized by that the power supply is controlled independently of the vehicle's charging status. [6] Charging adapter or interface for motorhomes, campers or caravans, characterized bythat it is specifically designed for use with an electric vehicle charging station to supply power for residential purposes in the vehicle.
