Abstract
Description
Technical area
[0001] The technical solution concerns men's underpants that are suitable for absorbing residual urine. State of the art
[0002] As with women, the problem of incontinence arises in connection with health problems or advancing age and is currently adequately addressed by the availability of absorbent aids such as incontinence pads or diapers on the market. Absorbent aids for men are available in various shapes, sizes, and absorbency levels, and underwear with sewn-in absorbent layers for light urine leakage is also available.
[0003] In addition to incontinence, men face another problem that is not only related to health problems and age, but also to the anatomy of the urinary tract, which has a longer urethra and a different shape than in women. If the bladder is not completely emptied, urine collects in the urethra, which leads from the bladder. This then results in a dripping process in which this residual urine, known as the "last drop," spontaneously flows out of the tube under gravity after a certain period of time. There is virtually no prevention or effective solution for this problem. The "last drop" of urine almost always ends up in the underwear. This residual urine can accumulate in the underwear, cause skin discoloration, seep into outer clothing, or even contaminate the affected person's environment, leading to hygiene problems and discomfort for the person and those around them.
[0004] Solving this problem with incontinence pads or diapers is inappropriate and does not contribute to psychological comfort. Many people with disabilities do not seek a solution or professional help out of fear and shame.
[0005] For the male population, there is currently no suitable product on the market that addresses this sensitive problem of the male population without the need for incontinence diapers or other absorbent aids. The essence of the technical solution
[0006] The aforementioned shortcoming is addressed by a technical solution for modifying men's underpants that directly collects residual urine exiting the urethra without leaving any traces on the underwear, outerwear, or surrounding area. This modification involves adapting the front of the men's underpants to collect urine at a specific point during the normal movement of the urethra after urination, thereby largely reducing the splashing of fluid onto the garment and the surrounding area.
[0007] Men's underpants are technically designed to collect urine by having a textile layer on the outer surface of the front in the middle part that prevents liquid from seeping out and is removably or permanently attached to the outer surface of the front of the underpants. The upper edge of the textile layer is higher than the upper edge of the underpants and is not attached to the outer surface of the front of the underpants. A drip chamber is formed between the outer surface of the front of the underpants and the textile layer, which is provided with an absorbent layer. The drip chamber on the front of the underpants thus forms a barrier against the penetration of moisture into the outer garment.
[0008] The drip tray is equipped with an absorbent layer that can be removably connected to the textile layer, preventing liquid from seeping out, or it can be placed loosely within the drip tray. The textile layer can have any shape, e.g., semicircular, be made of any material, and also absorb the liquid itself.
[0009] According to another embodiment of the technical solution, the men's underpants for collecting urine are arranged such that the upper edge of the textile layer is higher than the upper edge of the underpants and, in addition to the liquid-tight layer on the outside, the underpants are provided with an opening between the inner part of the underpants and the drip compartment in the front middle part. After urinating, the urethra can be enclosed in the opening at the mouth of the absorbent layer and falls over the upper edge of the textile layer. The opening can be narrower from top to bottom and is preferably rounded at the bottom. The opening is reinforced on the sides and around the bottom by a reinforcement attached to a retaining edge at the top of the opening for reinforcement. This retaining edge is located under the upper edge of the underwear around the entire circumference and can be glued to the upper edge of the underwear in the hip area. The retaining edge for the reinforcement can be, for example, an elastic waistband. The opening can be reinforced around the circumference with an underwire instead of reinforcement.
[0010] The men's underpants according to another preferred embodiment are designed such that the reinforcement is connected, detachably or non-detachably, to a reinforced longitudinal profile that is open at the top at one end adjacent to the bottom of the opening, with the other end of the profile located inside the drip chamber. This profile can be narrowed at the end located within the drip area.
[0011] The men's underpants according to another preferred embodiment are designed such that the reinforcement is connected, removably or non-removably, at one end adjacent to the bottom of the opening to a hollow, elongated, closed, reinforced profile. At the top of this end of the profile, an elongated, rounded recess is provided from the edge to facilitate the positioning of the urethra within the closed profile. The other end of this profile is located inside the drip container and is provided with an end for attaching an attachment, which can be, for example, a tube serving as an extension of the urethra. The vertical cross-section of this profile tapers towards the textile layer.
[0012] The designs with a reinforced opening and the reinforced profiles attached to it are primarily intended for collecting urine from a shorter urethra to facilitate its delivery to the absorbent layer. The men's underpants according to a further preferred embodiment are arranged so that the upper edge of the textile layer is at the same height as the upper edge of the underpants. According to this embodiment, an opening is formed in the middle part of the front of the underpants, wherein the size of the opening at the top is defined by the upper edge of the underpants, either rigidly or flexibly, for example by sliding elements. The upper part of the opening in this embodiment can be provided with a sliding element, for example in the form of a tube screwed to the edge of the underpants, to facilitate the movement of the urethra into the drip compartment. This design is intended to facilitate the collection of residual urine, especially from the longer urethra.
[0013] All men's underpants are technically designed so that after urination, the urethra can easily pass over the edge of the fabric layer into the drip compartment, which contains an absorbent layer that absorbs the urine. The residual urine and the urethra can then return to the underpants on their own, through normal body movements, or with gentle assistance. Examples of the implementation of the technical solutionExample 1
[0014] According to the technical solution, the men's underpants are suitable for the collection of urine, being provided on the outer surface 1 of the front in the central part with a textile layer 3, which prevents leakage of liquid to the outside ( Fig. 1). This textile layer 3 has a semicircular shape and is sewn from the sides to the outer surface 1 of the front of the underpants, with its upper edge 4 being higher than the upper edge 2 of the underpants, to which it is not glued. This textile layer 3 on the front of the underpants forms a drip compartment 6 on the outside of the underpants. The textile layer 3, which does not allow liquid to penetrate to the outside, is provided on the outside with an absorbent layer 5 on the inside in the form of a replaceable thin adhesive film made of absorbent material. The textile layer 3, which does not allow liquid to penetrate to the outside, forms a barrier against the penetration of moisture, which does not penetrate into the outer garment ( Fig. 1). Example 2
[0015] According to the technical solution, the men's underpants are suitable for urine retention, as on the outer surface 1 of the front in the middle part a textile cotton layer 3 is sewn, which is also an absorbent layer 5 according to the CityZen ® -technology ( Fig. 2a). This textile layer 3 has a rectangular shape and is attached at the edges with Velcro to the outer side 1 of the front of the underpants, with its edge 4 being higher than the upper edge 2 of the underpants, to which it is not connected. This textile layer 3 on the front of the underpants forms a drip compartment 6. The textile layer 3, which does not allow liquid to penetrate to the outside, forms a barrier against the penetration of moisture onto the outer clothing. The underpants are provided with an opening 7 in the front middle part of the underpants, in addition to the textile layer 3, which does not allow liquid to penetrate to the outside. The opening 7 narrows from top to bottom and is rounded at the bottom. The opening 7 is reinforced on the sides and in the lower area by a reinforcement 8, which consists of a stronger textile layer than the material of the underpants. The reinforcement 8 is attached at the top to the sides of the opening 7 to the retaining edge 14 for the reinforcement 8, which is an elastic waistband sewn horizontally around the entire circumference of the underpants below the upper edge 2 of the underpants in the area of the user's hips. Example 3
[0016] The men's underpants according to Example 2 for collecting residual urine from a shorter urethra are further modified by a hollow, closed, reinforced longitudinal profile 10 at one end near the bottom of the opening 7, which is rounded at its lower part. The profile 10 is made of a thin, flexible plastic / rubber-based material. At the opening 7 with the reinforcement 8, an elongated, rounded recess 11 is provided on the surface of the profile 10 from its upper edge ( Fig. 2c). The other end of this profile 10 is located inside the drip chamber 6 near the absorbent layer 5 and is provided with an end cap 12 for connecting an extension, which can be, for example, a tube serving as an extension of the urethra. The vertical cross-section of this profile 10 tapers towards the textile layer 3, so that no liquid can leak out. The absorbent layer 5 consists of an absorbent, replaceable cellulose that is loosely packed into the drip chamber 6. Example 4
[0017] Men's underpants according to the technical solution are adapted for urine collection, as they have a textile layer 3 sewn onto the outer surface 1 of the front of the underpants in the central part. Thanks to the rubber coating, this textile layer 3 is triangular in shape and is sewn at the edges to the outer surface 1 of the front of the underpants, with its edge 4 being flush with the upper edge 2 of the underpants, to which it is not glued. This textile layer 3 on the front of the underpants forms a drip compartment 6. The textile layer 3, which prevents liquid from penetrating the outside, forms a barrier against moisture penetration onto outer clothing. The underpants also feature an opening 7 at the center front, the size of which is flexibly adjusted by sliding elements 13, which are located at the upper edge 2 of the underpants in the shape of olivettes. A thin incontinence pad, forming an absorbent layer 5, is attached to the inside of the textile layer 3. This design is intended to facilitate the collection of residual urine, particularly from the longer urethra (Fig. Fig. 3). Industrial applicability
