Abstract
Description
UTILITY MODEL
[0001] The invention relates to a biocybernetic travel pillow in formats that can be anatomically adjusted to different body sizes (e.g. 30 x 40 cm, 50 x 70 cm, 40 x 60 cm, etc.). The technical shape of the pillow is determined by a functional cover. This can be made of various materials (e.g. cotton, silk, synthetic materials, etc.). The pillow also consists of two separate textile pillowcases (e.g. cotton, silk, synthetic materials, etc.) for the neck roll and the head section, each with different filling materials (e.g. wool, down, feathers, other natural fibers, synthetic fibers, gases, water, and viscoelastic materials). Two zippers secure the insertion of the head section and the neck roll in the functional cover. The material of the functional cover is cut without seams on the upper and lower outer edges to avoid any irritation of the sensitive neck and head area. The separately manufactured pillow sections, headrest and neck roll, are both equipped with zippers for variable filling and are inserted into the functional cover. The inserted headrest is also designed without a seam on the upper outer edge, and the inserted neck roll on the lower outer edge. The upper pillow section is given a head-shaped shape by a semicircular seam. The functional cover is divided crosswise in the lower third by a wide bar with two zippers, which allows the pillow to be folded as required. Two connecting bars on the external functional cover, which can have different dimensions and materials depending on the pillow design, hold the lower pillow section with the neck roll to the upper pillow section, as this ensures the pillow achieves the highest level of effectiveness. The design also allows the neck roll to be turned over to the opposite side of the pillow, thus exposing the zippers for easy insertion of the two pillow sections (headrest and neck roll). To use the pillow, the neck roll is turned back over to the opposite side of the functional cover. This allows the two zippers to be recessed in a skin-friendly manner. The design counteracts discomfort in the cervical spine area and supports the natural mobilization of the atlas vertebra in its sensorimotor muscle regulation. The pillow is primarily intended for optimal improvement of lying and sleeping comfort in vehicles, but is also suitable for hospital use. STATE OF THE ART AND MEDICAL BACKGROUND
[0002] There are currently travel pillows on the market that make it impossible to maintain a relaxed resting and sleeping position for extended periods during a trip. While some of these neck pillows, neck rolls, or neck bolsters feature a recess in the neck area, they lack the additional dual head support that is particularly necessary in a sitting or semi-seated sleeping and resting position. Furthermore, there are pillows that have an almost identical shape to the travel and rest pillow presented here, but still do not meet medical and scientific standards because they do not provide variable support for the cervical spine area, as the pillows are not individually adjustable. The medical travel pillow according to the present invention counteracts these deficiencies and pursues the goal of presenting a product whose variability can accommodate different resting positions. The pillow's mechanism of action is characterized by its optimal anatomical adaptation in supporting the atlas muscles. Regarding the findings from human cybernetic research, the inventor / applicant, an orthopedic specialist, has conducted fundamental research into atlas medicine for many years with patients who have exhausted all treatment options and high-performance athletes. The invention of this therapeutic pillow for adults and children is based on many years of atlas medicine research in human cybernetics. The actual support function of the head is assumed by the atlas muscles and the associated ligaments via a tensegrity framework. This allows the atlas pressure-free mobility across all three planes of space. The realization that with increasing inclination of the cervical spine area during travel sleep, the increasing shear forces are largely borne by the atlas muscles alone, was the reason for developing a dual muscle-relieving travel pillow.
[0003] The pillow's innovation compared to existing travel pillows, which already feature a neck roll, lies in the upper part of the pillow. This, like the neck roll, can be removed separately from the functional cover and individually adjusted to any anatomical shape. The upper part of the pillow has a hollow in the middle that contains less filler than the rest of the pillow, supporting the head when tilted and preventing it from bending sideways. DESCRIPTION
[0004] The design of the biocybernetic travel pillow for adults and children consists of a functional cover with two pillow chambers and 2 pillow parts, the upper pillow part, the head part and the lower pillow part, the neck roll, which are inserted into the functional cover. Fig. 1 shows view1 of the pillow. Fig. 2 shows the functional cover 2, the inserted pillow part 3, with head recess 3a and the inserted neck roll 4. Fig. 3 represents the functional cover 2. This is divided in the lower third by the zippers 5 and 6, which close the respective inserts of the pillow parts 3 and 4. The zippers 5 and 6 are attached to the functional cover in such a way that a bar 7 is created in the functional cover 2, which, thanks to its sufficient width, ensures that the headboard 3 and neck roll 4 can be placed on top of each other in the functional cover 1. The functional cover 1 is folded in the lower third and connected to each other on the outer sides on the left and right by the sewn-in connecting bars 8 and 9 in order to achieve the optimal effect of the pillow. Fig. Figure 4 shows the upper cushion part 3 with the recess 3a. The cushion part is provided with a zipper 3b at the lower edge, which allows for individual adjustment to any anatomical configuration by removing or adding different filling materials. Fig. 5 shows the neck roll 4, with the zipper 4a incorporated on the long side, which also allows for individual adjustment. Fig. 6, the connecting bars 8 and 9 in functional reference 2 are shown with one-sided attachment in order to clarify the principle of the design. Fig. 7 shows the fabric cut 10 of the functional cover 2. The seam freedom at the lower and upper edges must be observed. Claims
[1] Main claim Biocybernetic travel pillow in the formats anatomically adaptable to different body sizes (e.g. 30 x 40 cm, 50 x 70cm, 40 x 60cm etc.) The technical shape of the pillow is determined by a functional cover. This can be made of different materials (e.g. cotton, silk, synthetics, etc.) The pillow also consists of 2 separate textile pillowcases (e.g. cotton, silk, synthetics, etc.) for the neck roll and the head section, each with different filling materials (e.g. wool, down, feathers, other natural fibers, synthetic fibers, gases, water, and viscoelastic materials). 2 zippers secure the insertion of the head section and the neck roll in the functional cover. The material cut of the functional cover is designed without seams on the upper and lower outer edges to avoid any irritation of the sensitive neck and head area. The separately manufactured pillow sections, headrest and neck roll, are both equipped with zippers for variable filling and are inserted into the functional cover. The inserted headrest has no seam on the upper outer edge, and the inserted neck roll on the lower outer edge. The upper pillow section is given a head-shaped shape by a semicircular seam. The functional cover is divided crosswise in the lower third by a wide bar with two zippers, which allows the pillow to be folded as required. Two connecting bars on the functional cover, which can have different dimensions and materials depending on the pillow design, hold the lower pillow section with the neck roll to the upper pillow section, as this ensures the pillow achieves the highest level of effectiveness. This design also allows the neck roll to be turned over to the opposite side of the pillow, exposing the zippers for easy insertion of the two pillow sections (headrest and neck roll). To use the pillow, simply turn the neck roll back over to the opposite side of the functional cover. This allows the two zippers to be retracted, leaving skin-friendly comfort. This design counteracts discomfort in the cervical spine area and supports the natural mobilization of the atlas vertebra in its sensorimotor muscle regulation.
