Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a frame for presentation purposes. Such frames are widely used, for example, as picture frames, but also in variations such as display case-like areas for objects.
[0002] A generic frame comprises a frame element, a front panel, and a rear panel. The frame element forms a closed contour. Connected to this are surface elements that form a front panel and a rear panel. The frame element and the surface elements together define a volume for displaying objects. Objects for display, such as pictures, jewelry, or other items, can be inserted and positioned within this volume.
[0003] In a conventional frame of this type, for example, a picture is mounted on the back panel, facing the interior of the volume. An object can also be mounted on or on the back panel. The picture or object is visible through the front panel, so that, to a certain extent, a flat top view is always achieved. In this respect, conventional frames are limited to a specific arrangement and viewing method in terms of presentation. Three-dimensional visual effects or a three-dimensional perception, especially of pictorial representations, cannot be achieved with conventional frames.
[0004] Based on this prior art, the present invention is based on the object of developing a frame of the generic type in such a way that it is expanded with regard to the type of presentation and, in particular, three-dimensional presentations of pictorial representations are also made possible.
[0005] To solve this problem, a frame with the features of patent claim 1 is proposed. Further advantages and features are set out in the subclaims.
[0006] According to the invention, at least one additional surface element, which is at least partially transparent, is positioned inside the frame between the front panel and the rear panel. Spacer elements arranged between the various surface elements allow for precise positioning of the additional surface element. It is also possible to position an additional surface element at any angular position relative to the plane defined by the rear panel. The additional surface element is transparent, at least partially, and thus correspondingly translucent. This technology now makes it possible to arrange visual representations in different planes. As long as the respective front plane is transparent at the designated locations, every plane behind it can also be seen in this area. In this way, three-dimensional effects can also be created for visual representations.
[0007] According to an advantageous proposal of the invention, strip-shaped spacer elements are arranged, for example, in the edge region of the surface elements, concealed by the front parts of the frame (in the viewing direction). Short strip pieces, grooves formed in the inner surfaces of the frame element for inserting surface elements, stepped arrangements (seen in the cross-section of the frame element), or the like are also suitable for ensuring precise positioning of the additional surface element relative to the surface element forming the rear wall. This allows for any desired, even three-dimensional, viewing.
[0008] According to an advantageous proposal of the invention, several surface elements are provided between the rear wall and the front pane, which are at least partially transparent.
[0009] The frame element can be formed from strip-shaped segments. It can have a polygonal contour, for example, a square, but also triangular, round, or a similar combination. It can be formed from segments or a single piece. The frame element can have undercuts behind the front surface, allowing the surface elements to be inserted from the back.
[0010] According to an advantageous proposal of the invention, a retaining strip is arranged on the surface of the rear wall panel element facing away from the volume, i.e. the intended outer surface. The inventive design of the frame can increase the weight, so that special attention must also be paid to wall fastening. According to an advantageous proposal of the invention, a retaining strip is arranged on the outer surface of the rear wall, which has a cross-section such that weight forces always cause the frame according to the invention to be pulled towards the wall. This is achieved by an inclined contour that interacts with wall-side retaining elements, for example screw heads. The inclination causes weight forces to pull the frame with the retaining strip downwards in the hanging position, and in the process the inclination slides along the wall-side retaining elements towards the wall.
[0011] According to an advantageous proposal of the invention, the frame and surface elements as well as the retaining strip are formed at least partially from plastic, with PET having proven particularly suitable. On the one hand, this makes it possible to realize a lightweight construction by providing cavities. On the other hand, surface structures as well as transparent appearances can be determined and placed. Furthermore, the frame according to the invention can be manufactured economically using appropriate current production methods.
[0012] The invention proposes a frame that can be manufactured at a manageable cost, significantly expanding the possibilities for presentations and, in particular, enabling three-dimensional presentations, including pictorial representations. Further advantages and features of the invention will become apparent from the following description based on the figures. These show: Fig. 1 a schematic perspective representation of the arrangement of surface elements; Fig. 2 a front and side view of an embodiment of a frame element; Fig. 3 an exemplary representation of a spacing element; Fig. 4 a representation of a rear wall surface element and Fig. 5 a side view according to Fig. 4 in enlarged view.
[0013] Fig. Figure 1 shows the arrangement of three surface elements, with a support element 2 arranged between a rear wall surface element 1 and a front panel surface element 3. These are arranged relative to each other such that their corners are aligned along the dashed lines 4.
[0014] The surface elements shown can be placed in a frame 6 according to Fig. 2, whereby the side view 7 shows that the surface elements can be inserted into the frame with the desired distance relative to each other. For this purpose, spacer elements 5 can be inserted between the surface elements according to Fig. 3. These can be positioned in the edge area, or, depending on the objects to be presented, anywhere between the surface elements.
[0015] Fig. Figure 4 schematically shows a surface element 8 used as a rear panel and viewed from behind. "From behind" refers to the outer surface of the rear panel facing away from the frame in the intended installation position. A retaining element in the form of a retaining strip 9 is attached to the rear panel. Fig.Figure 5 shows an enlarged side view of the rear panel 8 with the retaining strip 9. This shows that the retaining strip 9, in the illustrated embodiment, has a negative slope at the lower edge in the image plane. A downward force, i.e., the force determined by the weight, always causes the rear panel and thus the frame to be pulled toward the wall.
[0016] The described embodiments are for illustrative purposes only and are not restrictive.
