Description

Field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a cutting mat and in particular to a cutting mat for comfortable working. State of the art

[0002] Cutting mats are used in many areas, such as dressmaking, patchwork, paper crafts, and model making. When cutting an object with a knife, a cutting mat is placed underneath the object so that the knife blade does not come into contact with the work surface underneath the cutting mat.

[0003] In order to prevent the object from slipping during the cutting process, cutting mats have been developed that can be used with magnets and have a layered structure and primarily consist of an upper layer, a metal plate and a lower layer that are stacked sequentially on top of each other, wherein the upper layer is a thin plate made of soft thermoplastic resin, the metal plate is a thin plate made of iron or other magnetically conductive metal material, the lower layer is a thin plate made of thermoplastic resin, the upper layer is bonded to the metal plate and the metal plate is bonded to the lower layer.

[0004] When cutting a plate-shaped object, it is placed on the top layer, with the magnets positioned on top of the object. The magnetic attraction between the magnets and the metal plate allows the magnets to press and position the object.

[0005] The metal plate has different material properties than the top layer and bottom layer, making effective direct bonding difficult. Therefore, adhesives are used to bond the top layer and the metal plate together. The metal plate and bottom layer are also bonded together by adhesives. Regardless of whether the bonding is achieved with glue or double-sided adhesive, the bonding strength may be slightly reduced due to moisture penetration from the air, changes in temperature and humidity, or other factors, making it easy for the top layer and the metal plate to separate from each other. The metal layer and bottom layer may also easily separate from each other, affecting the service life of the cutting mat.If the metal plate detaches from the backing, the user can easily cut and injure themselves on the flat, thin edges of the metal plate. Object of the invention

[0006] It is the main object of the present invention to provide a cutting mat for comfortable working.

[0007] To achieve the above object, the following technical solutions are used: a cutting mat for comfortable work, comprising a first cutting layer, a magnetically attractive layer, a puncture-resistant layer, a second cutting layer and a ring frame, wherein the first cutting layer, the magnetically attractive layer, the puncture-resistant layer and the second cutting layer are each a plate-shaped structure and are arranged sequentially along the thickness direction, and the ring frame is a frame structure and surrounds the outer periphery of the magnetically attractive layer and is located between the first cutting layer and the puncture-resistant layer, thereby enclosing and positioning the magnetically attractive layer.

[0008] The first cutting layer and the second cutting layer are each made of soft thermoplastic resin, the puncture-resistant layer is made of hard thermoplastic resin, the ring frame is made of thermoplastic resin, the magnetically attractive layer is made of a magnetic plate with magnetic attraction, and the first cutting layer, the ring frame, the puncture-resistant layer, and the second cutting layer are integrally formed by thermal melting and pressing.

[0009] This prevents the magnetically attractive layer from being accidentally moved and exposed, thus neither affecting its service life nor compromising safety during use.

[0010] Another object of the present invention is to replace the magnetically attractive layer with a magnetically conductive layer that can be magnetically attracted by a magnet with magnetic attraction force in order to be able to position an object to be cut. Detailed description of the implementation examples

[0011] The embodiments of the cutting mat according to the invention for comfortable working shown in the drawings are for explanation purposes only and are not intended to limit the claims.

[0012] As in the Fig. 1 to 3, a first embodiment of the cutting mat for comfortable working according to the invention comprises a first cutting layer 10, a magnetically attractive layer 20, a puncture-resistant layer 30, a second cutting layer 40 and a ring frame 50, wherein the first cutting layer 10, the magnetically attractive layer 20, the puncture-resistant layer 30 and the second cutting layer 40 are each a plate-shaped structure and are arranged sequentially along the thickness direction and the ring frame 50 is a frame structure and surrounds the outer periphery of the magnetically attractive layer 20 and is located between the first cutting layer 10 and the puncture-resistant layer 30, thereby encasing and positioning the magnetically attractive layer 20.

[0013] The first cutting layer 10 and the second cutting layer 40 are each made of soft thermoplastic resin, which the knife can penetrate and which yields to the cutting force of the knife. The puncture-resistant layer 30 is made of hard thermoplastic resin. The ring frame 50 can be made of hard thermoplastic resin or soft thermoplastic resin. The magnetically attractive layer 20 consists of a magnetic plate with magnetic attraction, so that a magnetically attractable object 92 can be attracted to the magnetically attractive layer 20. The first cutting layer 10, the ring frame 50, the puncture-resistant layer 30, and the second cutting layer 40 are integrally formed by thermal melting and pressing.

[0014] The first embodiment may further comprise two top layers 60 as needed, each top layer 60 being a plate made of soft thermoplastic resin and being bonded to the thickness-direction side of the first cutting layer 10 and the second cutting layer 40, respectively, so that they form the thickness-direction facing surfaces 62 of the cutting mat 01, respectively.

[0015] In the manufacture of the first embodiment, the first cutting layer 10, the magnetically attractive layer 20, the puncture-resistant layer 30, the second cutting layer 40, the ring frame 50, and the top layers 60 are sequentially stacked to form a semi-finished product with a multi-layer structure (not shown). Subsequently, the semi-finished product is subjected to high-temperature thermal melting and pressing, whereby the first cutting layer 10, the magnetically attractive layer 20, the puncture-resistant layer 30, the second cutting layer 40, the ring frame 50, and the top layers 60 are hot-melted and bonded together. In this way, the first embodiment of the layered structure is manufactured. After that, the first embodiment is trimmed as needed, so that the side edges of the first embodiment are cut into a predetermined shape and size.

[0016] When cutting a flat and thin object 94 such as paper, cloth, and leather, the first embodiment is placed under the object 94 with one of the surfaces 62 facing upward and in contact with the object 94 and the other surface 62 facing downward and in contact with the cutting work surface (not shown). The puncture-resistant layer 30 is located above the magnetically attractive layer 20. The second cutting layer 40, made of soft thermoplastic resin, allows the knife blade to penetrate the object 94. The blade can penetrate the object 94 in the thickness direction of the object 94, while the second cutting layer 40 absorbs the force of the knife and provides a buffer effect by guiding the blade further toward the magnetically attractive layer 20.The puncture-resistant layer 30 made of hard thermoplastic resin blocks the blade from penetrating further into the first embodiment to prevent the blade from coming into contact with the magnetically attractive layer 20 and thereby damaging it.

[0017] When cutting the object 94, one or more magnetically attractable objects 92 can be placed on the surface of the object 94. The specific example of the magnetically attractable object 92 is not limited to the one shown in Fig. 3. The magnetic force generated by the magnetically attractive layer 20 acts on the magnetically attractable object 92 and presses the object 94 so that the object 94 cannot easily slip, thus facilitating the cutting process.

[0018] The cutting mat 01 is integrally formed by thermal melting and pressing at high temperatures. Humidity cannot penetrate the interior of the cutting mat 01. Furthermore, changes in temperature and humidity do not cause the magnetically attractive layer 20 to separate from the adjacent first cutting layer 10 and the adjacent puncture-resistant layer 30. Furthermore, the ring frame 50 surrounds the magnetically attractive layer 20, preventing the edges of the magnetically attractive layer 20 from protruding from the cutting mat 01 and thus preventing the magnetically attractive layer 20 from injuring the user. This ensures safety during use.

[0019] An annular gap 72 is provided between the lateral periphery of the magnetically attractive layer 20 and the annular frame 50, into which the first cutting layer 10 and the puncture-resistant layer 30 are respectively filled. The width of the gap 72 between the magnetically attractive layer 20 and the annular frame 50 is selected to be between 0.3 mm and 2 mm.

[0020] Through the gap 72, the magnetically attractive layer 20 can be easily inserted into the annular inner edge of the ring frame 50. During subsequent thermal melting and pressing at high temperature, the first cutting layer 10 and the puncture-resistant layer 30 soften due to heating and fill the gap 72. After the cutting mat 01 is manufactured, the magnetically attractive layer 20 can no longer be moved laterally within the cutting mat 01.

[0021] It will be Fig. 4. The difference between the second embodiment and the first embodiment is mainly that in the second embodiment, the magnetically attractive layer 20 of the first embodiment is replaced by a magnetically conductive layer 80, wherein the magnetically conductive layer 80 consists of a thin, magnetically conductive material that is magnetically attractable and is preferably made of a metal plate, so that a magnetic object (not shown) with magnetic attraction force magnetically attracts the magnetically conductive layer 80 and thus the magnetic object, together with the upper layers 60, clamps and positions an object 94 to be cut.

[0022] It will be Fig. 5. The difference between the third embodiment and the first embodiment is mainly that in the third embodiment, two magnetically attractive layers 20 and two annular frames 50 surrounding the respective magnetically attractive layers 20 are provided, wherein the annular frames 50 are arranged laterally next to one another.

[0023] The third embodiment is based on two magnetically attractive layers 20 arranged side by side and two annular frames 50 surrounding the respective magnetically attractive layers 20. It is further optionally provided with a folding structure (not shown), which is located between the annular frames 50, allowing the third embodiment to be folded, facilitating storage and transportation. The folding structure is an existing technique in this field, and therefore its specific composition will not be described in detail here.

[0024] In the Fig. 6 and Fig.Figure 7 shows the fourth and fifth embodiments, which are based on the third embodiment. The fourth and fifth embodiments each comprise four magnetically attractive layers 20 and four ring frames 50 corresponding to the magnetically attractive layers 20. The main difference between the fourth embodiment and the fifth embodiment lies in the different arrangement of the plurality of magnetically attractive layers 20.

[0025] The magnetically attractive layer 20 in the third to fifth embodiments can optionally be replaced by the magnetically conductive layer 80 described in the second embodiment. In this way, various replacement options can be created with respect to the present invention.

[0026] The present invention provides a cutting mat for comfortable working, comprising a first cutting layer, a magnetically attractive layer, a puncture-resistant layer, a second cutting layer and a ring frame, wherein the first cutting layer, the magnetically attractive layer, the puncture-resistant layer and the second cutting layer are arranged sequentially along the thickness direction and the ring frame surrounds the outer periphery of the magnetically attractive layer and is located between the first cutting layer and the puncture-resistant layer, thereby encasing and positioning the magnetically attractive layer. The first cutting layer and the second cutting layer are each made of soft thermoplastic resin, the puncture-resistant layer is made of hard thermoplastic resin, the ring frame is made of thermoplastic resin, the magnetically attractive layer is made of a magnetic plate with magnetic attraction, and the first cutting layer, the ring frame, the puncture-resistant layer, and the second cutting layer are integrally formed by thermal melting and pressing.
