AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing whirlpool filters face issues with fibers and hairs, either releasing caught particles into the pump system or requiring frequent maintenance due to non-reusability.

Method used

A double filtration filter apparatus combining filter balls as the primary medium with a central filter core tube integrated with a fine, water-permeable mesh, ensuring that even fine particles are retained before reaching the pump.

Benefits of technology

This solution effectively prevents hair, fibers, and other particles from entering the pump, maintaining efficient water filtration and extending the life of the pump system without the need for frequent maintenance.

Abstract

Filter device for whirlpools, comprising: a) a filter housing with several lateral water inlet openings, b) a filter medium arranged in the housing, c) a second filtration stage in the form of a fine, water-permeable net that retains fibers and hair, d) a filter connection through which the purified water is fed to the whirlpool pump, whereby the second filtration stage, regardless of its arrangement (as part of a filter core tube, as a net above or below a grid or in another form), has an active filtration function to retain fibers and hair and thus prevent the pump from blocking.

Description

Whirlpool filters are usually designed as cartridge filters with lamellae or as containers with filter balls or alternative filter media. Leaf filters do not have the problem with fibers or hairs, but are not reusable for a long time. Filters with filter balls are reusable, but can release already caught hairs or material fibers, which then pass into the pump system. Our filter solves both problems. The present invention describes a double filtration filter apparatus which overcomes this problem. It combines an alternative filter medium, for example filter balls, with an additional central filter core tube integrated with a fine, water-permeable mesh. This mesh ensures that even very fine particles are retained before the purified water reaches the pump. This prevents hair, fibers or similar particles from being placed around the pump wheel shaft and blocking or blocking it.The problem underlying the invention is to provide an effective second filtration stage that reliably retains fibers, hairs and other particulates without hindering water flow or adversely affecting filter efficiency. This object is achieved by the features in claim 1.The invention achieves that the whirlpool water is filtered efficiently without particles being able to collect in the pump. The combination of filter balls as the main filter medium and the fine mesh as the second protective layer ensures that the system can be used for a longer operating period without maintenance.A preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to the figures. FIG. 1 shows an external view of the filter with the water inlet openings, while FIG. 2 shows a cross section of the filter system with the filter balls and the central filter core tube with mesh. In the drawing, the essential components of the system are referenced: 1. lid of the filter - upper end element of the filter housing, which protects the components inside. 2. filter housing - outer shell of the filter with several water inlet openings. 3. water inlet openings - Vertically rounded slits in the housing through which the water flows in. 4. filter media (filter balls) - Alternative filter elements that take over the first filtration stage. 5. filter core tube with grid structure - Central support structure for the second filtration stage, ensures the water flow. 6.Fine mesh as second filtration stage - Filters fibers, hair and other particles before the water reaches the pump. 7. filter connection - outlet of the filter, via which the purified water is conducted to the whirlpool pump. This invention allows for significantly improved water filtration in whirlpools and extends the life of the pump systems. It ensures that no comparable product achieves the same protective effect by simple modifications.Reference list to Technical Drawing1. Lid of the filter - Upper closure element of the filter housing, which protects the components inside. 2. filter housing - outer shell of the filter with several water inlet openings. 3. water inlet openings - Vertically rounded slits in the housing through which the water flows in. 4. filter media (filter balls) - Alternative filter elements that take over the first filtration stage. 5. filter core tube with grid structure - Central support structure for the second filtration stage, ensures the water flow. 6.Fine mesh as second filtration stage - Filters fibers, hair and other particles before the water reaches the pump. 7. filter connection - outlet of the filter, via which the purified water is conducted to the whirlpool pump.

Claims

A filtering device for whirlpools, comprising: a) a filter housing with a plurality of lateral water inlet openings, b) a filter medium arranged in the housing, c) a second filtration stage in the form of a fine, water-permeable mesh which retains fibers and hairs, d) a filter connection via which the cleaned water is conducted to the whirlpool pump, wherein the second filtration stage, independently of its arrangement (as part of a filter core tube, as a mesh above or below a mesh or in another form), has an active filtration function for retaining fibers and hairs and thus prevents a blocking of the pump.Filter device according to claim 1, characterised in that the filter medium consists of filter balls, sponges or other alternative filter materials.Filtering device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the second filtration stage is constituted by a fine mesh, screen or filter element which, independently of the mechanical structure of the filtering device, performs the function of retaining fibres and hairs from the water stream.A filter device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second filtration stage is arranged to not only serve as a physical barrier for filter media, but to have an active filtering action against fibres and hair.Filter device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second filtration stage consists of a fine mesh which is manufactured from a solid, water- and temperature-resistant fibre, wherein the mesh can alternatively also consist of high-strength plastic or metal fabric in order to prevent subsequent avoidance of the invention by changing material.Filter device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the filtration takes place in two stages, the first stage taking place through the filter medium and the second stage taking place through a fine mesh or screen against fibres and hair.Filter device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that each shape of a grid with a mesh above or below or in any other position technically corresponds to the second filtration stage and thus simulates the invention.Filter device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second filtration stage, independently of its specific configuration, takes over the retention of fibres and hairs as a solid component of the filter device and cannot be bypassed by subsequent mechanical modifications.
