AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing escape door monitors lack a visual solution to simultaneously detect the operability, operating voltage, and activation status of escape door guards, which are crucial for ensuring proper functionality and safety in emergency situations.

Method used

An electronic module on the escape door guard displays the status of the door guard function, operating voltage, and activation using light-emitting diodes that change color or flash to indicate these states.

Benefits of technology

Provides a visual indication of the door guard's status, operating voltage, and activation, ensuring reliable operation and immediate feedback to users.

Description

Introduction:Escape doors in buildings must be passable at any time in an emergency in order to enable rapid evacuation. In order to be informed about the use of an escape door which is not used in daily use, an escape door monitor is used [cf. FIG. 1 ]. This technical device is mounted on or below the opening device of the escape door in such a way that although it is possible to use the opening device of the escape door, the escape door monitor is triggered by horizontal or vertical displacement in parallel [cf. FIG. 2 ]. The escape door monitor reports the actuation of the opening device in the form of a loud acoustic or electronic main signal. The signal can be deactivated only by an authentication method (key, numerical code).Problem:The escape door monitor secures escape doors before opening outside a hazardous situation and should give a signal when the escape door is opened. An escape door guard is a complex device with mechanical and electronic functions, the status of which the person responsible requires meaningful relevant information in order to ensure operation. The functionality as such is considered to be relevant, as is the status of the escape door securing means.Problem:A visual solution on the surface of the door opener is to be found which enables the responsible simultaneous detection of whether:• the escape door guard is operable (activated),• the internal current source supplies a sufficient operating voltage,• The escape door guard was triggered.According to the current state, such a solution is not known on the market.Object Solution:The escape door guard is intended to have an electronic module which establishes the parameters "door guard function status", "operating voltage" and "activation status" and transmits them to diodes which are arranged in parallel on the surface of the escape door guard and, by means of their luminous behavior and / or coloring, display the status to the observer [cf. FIG. 3].The trouble-free functionality is represented by an ideally green light-emitting diode, for example by flashing every 30 seconds. If the lighting of the diode fails, the module signals the non-functional capability.A debreasing attenuation of the necessary operating voltage is signaled by an ideally orange light-emitting diode, in that it flashes, for example, every 30 seconds. If the lighting of the diode fails, the module signals the sufficient operating voltage.Triggering of the escape door guard is optically represented by an ideally red light-emitting diode, for example by regular flashing. If the lighting of the diode fails, the module signals that the escape door guard has not been activated.List of reference charactersFIG. 1 : escape door guard in a rectangular construction FIG. 2 : Escape door guard mounted below a door latch with functioning, FIG. 3 : Multi-panel with light-emitting diode fitting 1 Light-emitting diode 1 2 Light-emitting diode 2 3 Light-emitting diode 3

Claims

The claim extends to (1) an electronic module in a door check gate which serves to detect the functional status, the operating voltage and the triggering status. (2) An electronic module according to claim 1, characterized in that it is capable of detecting additional electrical or electronic parameters of the escape door guard. (3) An electronic module according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the detected parameters are visualized via a multi-panel with light-emitting diodes mounted on the surface. (4) An electronic module according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that each parameter is indicated by a separate light emitting diode. (5) A device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the light-emitting diodes have different or identical colors.
