AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional shoulder pads and carrying aids fail to securely hold multiple bags with handles or straps, often slipping and causing discomfort due to poor ergonomics and lack of non-slip features.

Method used

A foldable extension on a padded shoulder pad clamps bag straps or handles using a hook-and-loop fastener, carabiner, or snap fastener, combined with a stabilizing strap for secure attachment.

Benefits of technology

Provides improved comfort and stability by preventing slipping, distributing weight evenly, and allowing flexible use on various garments.

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for comfortably and safely carrying bags, in particular shopping bags or pieces of luggage with handles or carrying straps, over the shoulder.

[0002] When carrying multiple bags with handles or straps over the shoulder, a common problem is that they either slip off the shoulder, press uncomfortably against the skin or clothing, or the handles cut painfully into the skin after prolonged wear. Furthermore, it's difficult to secure several bags simultaneously without them shifting against each other. While conventional shoulder pads or carrying aids exist, these often don't provide a secure hold for multiple handles and are usually neither ergonomically shaped nor non-slip.

[0003] From DE8909078U1, US3564590A and JP2015112448A inventions are known in which a shoulder pad and a strap are disclosed that can be used to carry bags. However, these are attached to the bags and not, as in the present invention, the bag is clamped into the shoulder pad while the strap serves to secure it. US5845833A provides a strap for stabilization but no device for simply clamping a bag. US2671486A, on the other hand, has a device for clamping a bag but no stabilizing strap.

[0004] The object of the invention is to provide a simple and comfortable carrying aid that allows bag handles to be clamped, prevents slipping, and is flexibly applicable. This object is achieved by the features of the main claim and by the features of the dependent claims.

[0005] The invention provides a simple yet effective bag carrying aid, which, in particular, allows bag handles or straps to be fixed in place by means of a foldable extension on a shoulder pad. Additionally, a strap ensures that the carrying aid remains stable on the shoulder without slipping.

[0006] Advantages of the invention: • Improved carrying comfort when carrying heavy or multiple bags • Reduced pressure thanks to ergonomically shaped shoulder padding • Securing bag handles prevents slipping • Can be used flexibly thanks to a strap or direct attachment to suitable garments • Easy to use, lightweight material

[0007] In a preferred embodiment, the bag carrying aid consists of a padded shoulder pad that adapts to the shape of the shoulder. A foldable extension is located on one long side of this shoulder pad and can be attached using a hook-and-loop fastener, a carabiner, a metal hook, or a snap fastener. This extension is designed so that, when folded down, it can clamp and secure bag straps or handles, preventing them from slipping off.

[0008] The shoulder pad has an attached strap that runs diagonally across the torso and under the opposite shoulder. This strap can be either permanently attached to the shoulder pad or removable. Alternatively, the shoulder pad is sewn securely to a suitable garment or attached using fasteners such as Velcro or carabiners, with the garment providing the stabilizing function.

[0009] The shoulder pad material can be made of cotton, natural fibers, or polyester, while the strap can be made of natural fibers, synthetic fibers, or metal. The strap can be fastened with a buckle, Velcro, or clips.

[0010] In another version, the system can also be equipped with two shoulder pads, each of which can be worn on both shoulders to distribute the weight more evenly.
