Abstract

Double thread plate for attachment to a single thread plate of a sewing machine, in particular for the simultaneous use of two threads in one thread system, characterized by: • a support plate (plate) for holding two or more yarn rolls, • two vertically aligned holding elements in the form of tubes or pins for holding a yarn cone each, • wherein one of the holding elements is designed to positively receive the vertical pin of an existing simple yarn plate, • and wherein the carrier plate is positioned in a resting manner on the simple yarn plate, so that a horizontal fixation is achieved by a fit with a small tolerance.

Description

Technical description

[0001] The invention relates to a double thread plate for holding two thread cones for a thread system. The double thread plate is attached to an existing, single thread plate of a sewing machine. The invention is particularly suitable for machines that are already equipped with several single horizontal thread plates as standard, such as overlock or coverlock machines. State of the art:

[0002] The simple horizontal thread holder on sewing machines serves to vertically hold sewing thread cones. It consists of a flat holder with a central vertical pin onto which a thread cone is placed. Depending on the machine, there are usually 3-5 such holders, depending on the number of thread systems. Solution:

[0003] The present invention consists of an oval, symmetrical plate (disk) with two vertical tubes. One of the tubes can also be a pin. For attachment, one of the tubes is pushed over the pin of an existing single yarn disc until the oval plate of the invention rests flat on the existing disc. The tube fits onto the pin with a small tolerance, so that the double yarn disc is fixed horizontally. A yarn cone can then be placed on each of the two tubes – thus, two cones on one yarn disc. Advantages: • Use of two yarns in one thread system, e.g. for decorative effects (e.g. Multitalent 40 from Smart-Thread) • Creation of gradient yarn effects by combining different colors • Seam covers cut edges better, visually appealing even in visible areas (e.g. hem finish) • Increased seam robustness • Flexible design options with 1, 2 or 3 double yarn plates and various yarn combinations List of reference symbols 1 Simple yarn plate (not part of the invention) 2 Vertical pin of the simple yarn plate (not part of the invention) 3 Double yarn plate (invention) 4 Oval support plate 5, 6 Vertical tubes for holding the thread spools

Claims
