Abstract
Description
Technical area
[0001] The invention relates to a cutting device according to claim 1 for a cable processing device, as well as a cable processing device according to claim 7 with a cutting device. State of the art
[0002] From the practice of cable processing, in particular cable assembly, it is known to cut a cable at one end in a defined manner, be it by cutting into the sheath of the cable in order to pull the cut sheath completely or partially towards the cable in a subsequent step, or be it by severing the cable entirely in order to produce a processable, defined end section of the cable.
[0003] When the cable is cut, particles occur, in particular cutting residues from the cable sheath, from the conductor or from a dielectric of the cable, which must be removed from the cut cable section for further processing of the cable.
[0004] For cutting the cable, it is known to provide two or more blades, which, for example, are arranged opposite each other in pairs, are moved radially toward and away from the cable. For removing the cutting residues, it is known to create a negative pressure near the blades, which is provided, for example, in a suction device. The suction device has a hose subjected to a negative pressure to suck away the particles generated during the cutting of the cable.
[0005] The hose of the extraction device has an intake opening, which is arranged, for example, near the blades of the cutting device, so that the blades are positioned in front of the intake opening of the hose of the extraction device. The sucked-in air flow is guided laterally past the blades in such a way that, when the blades are closed for cutting, the intake opening is partially blocked and turbulence can occur behind the closed blades, with the result that cutting residues in the area close to the blades cannot be safely removed. Another disadvantage is that particles that stick to a blade cannot be safely removed but can get into the area between the two blades.
[0006] These disadvantages occur particularly when the cutting device is operated continuously with short cycle times and regular cleaning of the blades of the cutting unit is not easily possible.
[0007] EP 4 099 523 A1 describes a cable processing device with a cutting device, wherein a rigid hollow shaft is provided as a drive for a cutting unit of the cutting device, wherein air is sucked in through the hollow shaft immediately adjacent to the blades of the cutting device.
[0008] DE 10 2019 203 708 A1 describes a cable processing device, in particular a cutting device for stripping or severing cables, with a suction device whose inlet opening is arranged adjacent to the blades of the cutting device.
[0009] CN 22025398 U describes a cable processing device, in particular a cutting device, with a suction unit, wherein the suction unit has a suction nozzle, the suction opening of which is arranged directly adjacent to the blades of the cutting unit.
[0010] US 2019 / 009326 A1 describes a cable processing device, namely a cutting device for stripping cables, with two blades, wherein a suction device for cutting residues is provided, the suction opening of which is arranged directly adjacent to one of the two blades.
[0011] DE 199 03 194 A1 describes a cable processing device with a cutting unit, wherein the mouth of a suction channel is arranged near the blades but at a distance from the blades of the cutting unit, wherein the suction channel merges into a guide tube via a bend, and wherein a suction nozzle is arranged between the bend and the guide tube.
[0012] JP 2813286 B2 describes a cutting unit for a cable processing device, in which a suction device is provided for the cutting unit, wherein an inlet opening of the suction pipe of the suction device is arranged directly adjacent to at least one of the two blades of the cutting unit. Description of the invention
[0013] It is an object of the invention to provide a cutting device for a cable processing device in which an improved suction of particles is possible, in particular in a completely closed position of the blades.
[0014] This object is achieved according to the invention for a cutting device for a cable processing device, comprising at least two blades and a suction device which is designed to suck out particles produced during the cutting of the cable, wherein the suction device comprises a hose with a suction opening, in that an opening is formed on the outer surface of the hose at a distance from the suction opening of the hose, through which opening the respective blade can penetrate.
[0015] The at least one opening penetrates the outer surface of the hose in such a way that the respective blade can pass through the opening. The opening has the effect that, when in particular the pair of blades is closed, an air flow is guided through the gap between the edge of the opening and the side surface of the respective blade in such a way that the air flow runs essentially parallel to the side surface of the respective blade. The air flow is only slightly prevented from entering the hose by the pair of blades being closed in a cutting position. Furthermore, the air flow running parallel to the blade ensures that adhesions to the side surface of the blade, in particular cutting residues on the side surface of the blade, are captured by the air flow and transported into the hose for suction.
[0016] Preferably, the hose has a hose extension with an oval suction cross-section, and the opening is formed in the hose extension. In the area of the hose extension, the cross-section can transition from a round cross-section for connection to the hose into an oval suction cross-section, with the opening penetrated by the blades being formed in the section of the hose extension with the oval suction cross-section, so that the blades can be guided through the hose extension with only a small stroke in the radial direction relative to the cable to be processed.
[0017] The hose extension can be straight or, alternatively, curved. In particular, the hose extension can have a parallel offset between the connection area to the hose and the section with the oval intake cross-section, for example, to accommodate confined spaces near the blades of the cutting unit.
[0018] Preferably, the hose extension is designed as a plastic molded part, in particular as a 3D molded part. In particular, multiple hose extension parts can be provided, each of which accommodates different blades or different cables to be processed. Each hose extension is detachably connected to the hose of the suction device by means of a connecting clamp. The hose extension is designed, in particular, as a one-piece molded part.
[0019] In particular, it is preferably provided for the tube or the tube extension that an opening is formed for each blade.
[0020] Preferably, the opening is provided with an oval contour. The long, approximately straight side edges of the oval are arranged substantially parallel to the side surface of the respective blade, such that larger deposits, in particular cutting residues, on the side surface of the blade can be scraped off at the nearer side edge of the oval, provided a defined gap is maintained between the side edge and the side surface.
[0021] Further advantages and features of the invention emerge from the dependent claims and from the following description of an embodiment.
[0022] The invention is described and explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Fig. 1 shows a partial perspective view of an embodiment of a cutting device according to the invention for a cable processing device according to the invention, from a first viewing direction, Fig. 2 shows a section of the embodiment from Fig. 1 from a second viewing direction, and Fig. 3 shows a further section of the embodiment from Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 from a third perspective.
[0023] Fig. 1 shows, from a first viewing direction, a perspective view of the essential components of an embodiment of a cutting device according to the invention, wherein the cutting device is a part, in particular a processing station of several processing stations, of a modular cable processing device.
[0024] The cutting device comprises two blades 1, 2 forming a pair of blades, with the cutting edges of the blades 1, 2 facing each other relative to a longitudinal axis along which the cable to be processed is fed. The respective blade 1, 2 is clamped in a blade holder (not shown) and is displaceable by means of the blade holder. The blades 1, 2 are designed as identical parts, with the respective identical part being releasably clamped in the respective blade holder.
[0025] The cutting edge of each blade 1, 2 is essentially V-shaped, so that the blades 1, 2 are designed as V-cutting blades. The blades 1, 2 are operated in a synchronized manner, in particular, they move toward and away from each other in a synchronized manner, such that the blades 1, 2 sever a cable inserted between the cutting edges of the blades. When the cable is severed, cutting residues are created that must be removed from the area between the cutting edges of the two blades 1, 2 in order to process another cable.
[0026] The cutting device further comprises a suction device 3, which is designed to suction away particles, in particular cutting residues, that arise during the cutting of the cable. The suction device 3 comprises a hose 4, wherein a negative pressure is provided in the hose 4, the negative pressure sucking the particles into the hose 4.
[0027] The hose 4 is formed in two parts and comprises a hose body 5 and a hose extension 6, wherein the hose extension 6 is fastened to the hose body 5 by means of a clamping unit 7. The hose body 5 has a substantially round cross-section, wherein the hose extension 6 is fastened to the end of the hose body 5. The hose extension 6 has a cross-section that varies along its extent, wherein the hose extension 6 is formed as a plastic molded part, in particular as a 3D molded part.
[0028] The hose 4 has a suction opening 8, which is formed in the region of the hose extension 6, wherein the suction opening 8 of the hose 4 or of the hose extension 6 has an oval suction cross-section, which deviates from the circular cross-section of the hose body 5. The oval suction cross-section of the hose 4, in particular of the hose extension 6, is also Fig. 2 can be seen.
[0029] On the outer surface of the hose 4, in particular on the outer surface of the hose extension 6 of the hose 4, an opening 9 for the first blade 1 and an opening 10 for the second blade 2 are formed, wherein the blade 1, 2 can penetrate through the respective opening 9, 10, as also from Fig. 2 for the second blade 2 and the opening 10 can be seen.
[0030] In particular, it is provided that at least one opening is formed on the outer surface of the hose 4 at a distance from the intake opening 8 of the hose 4, through which the respective blade 1, 2 can penetrate. In the illustrated embodiment, it is provided that an opening 9, 10 is formed for each blade 1, 2. The first blade 1 passes through the opening 9, and the second blade 2 passes through the opening 10.
[0031] The respective opening 9, 10 is arranged at a distance from the suction opening 8 of the hose 4, specifically on a lateral surface of the hose 4, wherein the suction opening 8 is arranged on an end surface of the hose 4.
[0032] The opening 9 for the first blade 1 is, as can be seen Fig. 1, is delimited by an edge 11 opposite the adjacent lateral surface of the hose extension 6, wherein the edge 11 is uninterrupted, i.e., continuous in the direction of extension, such that an intermediate region 12 is formed between the intake opening 8 and the edge 11 of the opening 9, wherein in the intermediate region 12 the lateral surface of the hose 4 or the hose extension 6 is continuous in the circumferential direction. The same applies to the opening 10 for the second blade 2.
[0033] The representation of Fig. 1 that the tubular extension 6 does not have a straight profile. The tubular extension 6 has a first section 13 with an approximately circular cross-section and a second section 14 offset parallel to the first section 13 with a flattened, oval or elliptical cross-section, wherein the openings 9, 10 are arranged in the second section 14 of the tubular extension 6 in such a way as to accommodate only a small stroke of the two blades 1, 2 due to the reduced diameter. The offset between the two sections 13 and 14 and the change in the cross-sectional profile from a circular to an elliptical or oval cross-section takes place in a transition region between the sections 13 and 14.
[0034] Fig. 2 shows the offset between the sections 13 and 14 of the hose extension 6 from a different viewing direction, essentially onto the suction opening 8 of the hose 4 or the hose extension 6, wherein the suction opening 8 has an elliptical or oval outline obtained by imaginarily flattening a circle.
[0035] Fig. 2 shows the second blade 2 in a cutting position in which it is radially displaced, relative to the longitudinal axis, maximally towards the other, not shown first blade 1, so that the two blades 1, 2 clearly block the suction of ambient air through the suction opening 8. In this position of the two blades 1, 2, ambient air is sucked into the hose extension 6 of the hose 4 through the two openings 9, 10 laterally to the side surfaces of the blades 1, 2, i.e. cutting residues created at the moment the cable is cut are sucked into the hose body 5 by the air sucked in through the openings 9, 10 to the side of the blades 1, 2 and transported away by the blades 1, 2.
[0036] Fig.3 shows a plan view of the hose extension 6 of the hose 4 in the region of the opening 9 for the first blade 1. It can be seen that the continuous edge of the opening 9 has an oval, closed profile, so that the opening 9 has an oval contour. In particular, a straight section 15 of the edge 11 can be seen, which is formed essentially parallel to the cutting edge of the blade 1 or to a side surface 16 of the blade 1, so that a narrow, defined gap of small width is created between the cutting edge of the blade 1 and the straight section 15 of the edge 11 of the opening 9.The gap is dimensioned such that the blade 1 can be safely guided radially back and forth through the opening 9, but is also designed to be narrow enough that adhesions to the side surface 16 of the blade 1 facing the straight section 15 of the edge 11 of the opening 9 can be wiped off at the edge 11 and thus removed from the area between the two blades. The same applies to the opening 10 through which the second blade 2 passes. The openings 9, 10 through which the blades 1, 2 pass have a cleaning effect, an effect that cannot be achieved by the suction opening 8 as such, since the suction opening 8 is spaced from the blades 1, 2 by the intermediate area 12.
[0037] In the embodiment described above, two blades 1, 2 of a cutting device were provided. It is understood that in a modification of the embodiment, more than two blades may be provided.
[0038] In the exemplary embodiment described above, it was provided that an opening 9, 10 was provided for each blade 1, 2. It is understood that, in a modification of the exemplary embodiment, a common, single opening can be provided for two blades on the outer surface of the hose 4. It is further understood that, in addition to the at least one opening penetrated by at least two blades, further inlet openings can be provided in the outer surface of the hose 4, wherein the further inlet opening is not penetrated by a blade.
