AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing connecting components for two-wheeler handlebars are externally fastened, leading to unsightly and potentially insecure installations, especially when guiding cables and lines to the bottom bracket or rear axle, and lack an efficient internal guiding solution.

Method used

A connecting component designed as a striker element with radially attached wing sections that fits into the fork stem, allowing internal guidance of cables and lines through gaps between wing sections, secured by a screw threaded into a central bore.

Benefits of technology

Ensures secure and aesthetically pleasing internal installation of cables and lines within the fork stem, enhancing structural integrity and reducing external clutter.

Description

The invention relates to a connecting component for connecting a fork stem and a front arm to one another in a two-wheeler, in particular a bicycle. For a more sportful posture of the user of a two-wheeler, handlebar structures are used. They displace the handle holder a distance forwards, so that a flatter posture is obtained which is more comfortable for many users of two-wheelers.On a handlebar accommodated in the front part of a handlebar, for example of a bicycle, besides handles, brakes and operating elements for gearshifts of the bicycle are also arranged. These components must be linked to the brakes and derailleurs of the bicycle via connections, for example, Bowden cables, pull wires or hydraulic lines and electrical line connections. Some of these connections are to be guided, for example, to the bottom bracket of the bicycle or also to the rear axle of the bicycle, i.e. starting from the handlebar via the control head and frame. In the prior art, such connecting elements are fastened in the region of the front arm part with the aid of cable ties or the like. In the region of the control head too, external installation takes place with the aid of fastening means. The object of the invention is to provide a connecting component of the type mentioned at the beginning which enables installation of connecting components for structural elements of a two-wheeler in the interior of the fork stem. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the connecting component is designed as a striker element for the fork stem, wherein it has a central region with at least two radially attached wing sections. The connecting component is designed as a striking element. It is arranged in a force-fitting manner in the fork stem by being driven into the fork stem. The impact element compensates for the bearing play. The at least two radially attached wing sections present can contact the walls of the fork stem on the inside and ensure a fixed seat with appropriate dimensioning of the impact element and the wing sections. The configuration with separate wing sections has the advantage that gaps can be left between adjacent wing sections. Cables or lines can be guided through these gaps, so that they can enter the fork stem coming from the front arm part. A laying of corresponding cables and lines inside the bicycle components is thus ensured.According to a first development of the invention, it is provided that the central region has a bore with an internal thread. A screw coming from the front end of the steering rod can be screwed into this bore in order to pull the front end of the steering rod against a seat on the control head. Via the connecting component with bore and internal thread and the screw, the front arm and the fork shaft are connected to one another. The central region is preferably cylindrical in shape.A next development of the invention provides that three wing sections are arranged at the central region. This arrangement is preferably symmetrical, three gaps remaining between the three wing sections through which cables or lines can be guided. It is also provided here that the wing sections are each configured flat and their width increases with increasing distance from the central region. These enlarged regions serve for the bearing of the wing sections against the inner walls of the fork stem, while cables or lines can be guided through the spacings of the narrower regions of mutually adjacent wing sections.A further development of the invention provides that blade sections which are attached radially on the central region are arranged in two planes which are aligned approximately parallel to one another. The wing sections of the two planes are congruent with each other, so that gaps arranged between the wing sections are aligned with each other. The connecting component is preferably formed from plastic or metal. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing. The following are shown: FIG. 1 is a sectional view of a front arm part, FIG. 2 : a view of the front arm part according to FIG. 1 from below, FIG. 3 is a top view of the striker element according to the invention; and FIG. 4 is a side view of the tuck-in element according to FIG. 3.The front arm 1 is mounted on a fork stem 2. The connection between the front arm 1 and the fork stem 2 is effected via a driving element 3 according to the invention in the fork stem 2 and a screw 4, which is screwed into the driving element 3 starting from the front arm 1.A cable 5 is guided along the front arm 1, which cable enters the fork stem 2 and is guided through the tuck-in element 3.The situation of passing the cable 5 through the tucking element 3 is also shown in Fig. 2. The impact element 3 has a central region 6, on which radial wing sections 7 are attached. A gap 8 remains between adjacent wing sections 7 and the cable 5 is guided through such a gap.The central region 6 has a bore with an internal thread into which the screw 4 can be screwed.FIGS. 3 and 4 show the tuck-in element 3. The wing sections 7 are arranged in two planes, the arrangement takes place in each case at the central region 6. the gaps 8 remaining between the wing sections 7 can be seen, they are dimensioned such that Bowden cables, lines and cables can be passed through this tuck-in element 3.
