Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a spray gun extension system and, in particular, to one that allows adjustment of the overall length of the spray gun.

[0002] In general, air guns are commonly used in cleaning applications to remove dust and other fine contaminants. To expand the airflow area, some air guns are equipped with a flexible hose that directs the high-pressure air stream. However, uncontrolled movement of the hose can occur when the high-pressure air stream is discharged, resulting in the air stream being dispersed over a wide area.

[0003] In Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a conventional pneumatic gun. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, a known pneumatic gun PA100 comprises a gun main body PA1 and a gun tube PA2. The gun main body PA1 serves to connect to a high-pressure air supply line, while the gun tube PA2 is fixedly connected to the gun main body PA1.

[0004] Due to the limited length of the PA2 gun tube of the conventional PA 100 compressed air gun, when cleaning vehicle bodies or machinery, it is often necessary to insert the PA 100 compressed air gun into gaps by hand to precisely align the PA2 gun tube with the area to be cleaned. However, some narrow gaps are so cramped that the hand cannot be inserted, making effective cleaning of these areas impossible. This leads to significant limitations in usage efficiency.

[0005] In view of the state of the art, in which conventional compressed air guns can only be inserted into narrow spaces to a limited extent due to limited tube lengths, which makes the effective cleaning of such hard-to-reach areas difficult, the object of the present invention is to provide a spray gun extension system in which the position of the opening of the blow tube can be flexibly adapted to the needs of the user.

[0006] This object is achieved according to the invention by a spray gun extension system having the features specified in claim 1. Further advantageous developments of the invention emerge from the features of the subclaims.

[0007] According to the invention, a spray gun extension system is proposed which comprises a spray gun main body, at least one extension tube and a blow tube.

[0008] The spray gun main body has an outlet opening. The extension tube has an internal thread connection and an opposite external thread connection. The internal thread connection can be removably screwed to the outlet opening and is in fluid communication with the external thread connection. The blow tube can be removably screwed to one of the external thread connections or to the outlet opening.

[0009] According to the invention, the at least one extension tube has a non-circular cylindrical outer surface, preferably a polygonal contour.

[0010] According to the invention, the outer surface of the at least one extension tube has a structured, rough surface.

[0011] According to the invention, the blowpipe comprises an outer tube body, a connecting piece, and an inner tube body. The outer tube body has a connecting end and an opening end. The connecting piece is attached to the connecting end and designed for releasable screw connection to one of the externally threaded connections or to the outlet opening. The inner tube body is connected to the connecting piece within the outer tube body and, when screwed together, establishes a fluidic connection. Preferably, the connecting piece has an internally threaded connecting section and an integrally formed connecting section for the inner and outer tubes, the former serving for releasable screw connection to one of the externally threaded connections or the outlet opening, and the latter for connection to the outer and inner tube bodies.

[0012] According to the invention, the spray gun main body comprises a handle section and a connecting head, wherein the connecting head is connected to the handle section and has the outlet opening.

[0013] Overall, the proposed spray gun extension system's modular design with one or more extension tubes allows for the overall length of the spray gun to be adjusted as needed, allowing the position of the blower opening relative to the main body of the spray gun to be flexibly adjusted. This significantly increases applicability and user-friendliness when cleaning in hard-to-reach areas.

[0014] The invention and its embodiments are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows: Fig. 1 a perspective view of a conventional compressed air gun; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the spray gun extension system according to the invention; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a spray gun which is used in Fig. 2; Fig. 4 a sectional view along the line AA in Fig. 3; Fig. 5 a sectional view along the line BB in Fig. 3; Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a spray gun constructed with two extension tubes using the extension system of the invention; Fig. 7 is a perspective view of another preferred embodiment of the spray gun extension system according to the invention; and Fig. 8 is a perspective view of a spray gun which is used in Fig. 7 shown extension system.

[0015] Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the spray gun extension system according to the invention. As in Fig. 2, the spray gun extension system 100 comprises a spray gun main body 1, two extension tubes 2, 3 and a blow tube 4.

[0016] The spray gun main body 1 comprises a handle section 11 and a connection head 12. The handle section 11 is designed for connection to a high-pressure gas supply line [not shown] and serves to control the high-pressure gas supply. In this embodiment, the control is realized by manually operating the handle section 11, thereby opening or closing the connection to the internal high-pressure gas line. The connection head 12 is connected to the handle section 11 and has an outlet opening 121, which is designed as a connector provided with an external thread. When the connection head 12 is connected to the handle section 11, the outlet opening 121 is in fluid communication with the internal high-pressure gas line, so that when the handle section 11 is operated, the high-pressure gas is discharged through the outlet opening 121.

[0017] The extension tube 2 has an internal thread connection 21 and an opposite external thread connection 22. The internal thread connection 21 is designed to be detachably screwed to the outlet opening 121, wherein a fluidic connection exists between the internal thread connection 21 and the external thread connection 22. The extension tube 2 also has an outer surface 23 that is not circularly cylindrical. The outer surface 23 can, for example, have a polygonal contour. Furthermore, the outer surface 23 can not only have a polygonal shape but can also be designed as a roughened surface with increased grip.

[0018] The extension tube 3 also has an internal thread connection 31, an external thread connection 32, and an outer surface 33. Since the construction of the extension tube 3 corresponds to that of the previously described extension tube 2, a detailed repetition is omitted here.

[0019] The blowpipe 4 comprises an outer tube body 41, a connecting piece 42, and an inner tube body 43. The outer tube body 41 has a connecting end 411, an opening end 412, and an outer surface 413. The connecting end 411 and the opening end 412 are structurally arranged opposite one another and fluidly connected to one another, with the opening end 412 being designed as a gradually widening mouth opening. The outer surface 413 extends from the connecting end 411 to the opening end 412. Furthermore, in this exemplary embodiment, the outer surface 413 is not circularly cylindrical, but polygonal in shape and is provided with a textured surface to improve grip.

[0020] The connector 42 is attached to the connecting end 411 of the outer tube body 41 and is used for detachable screw connection to one of the following components: the external thread connection 22, the external thread connection 32 or the outlet opening 121. In addition, the inner tube body 43 is arranged within the outer tube body 41.

[0021] Fig. Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a spray gun assembled with the spray gun extension system according to the invention. In practical use, the user can connect the internal thread connector 21 of the extension tube 2 to the connection head 12 of the spray gun main body 1. Subsequently, the connecting piece 42 of the blow tube 4 can be screwed to the external thread connector 22 of the extension tube 2. This increases the distance between the opening end 412 of the blow tube 4 and the spray gun main body 1 in proportion to the length of the blow tube 4.

[0022] Fig. Figure 4 shows a schematic sectional view along the line AA in Fig. 3. As can be seen from the Fig. 2 to Fig. 4, the connecting piece 42 further comprises two oppositely arranged end portions, namely an internally threaded connecting portion 421 and a connecting portion 422 for the inner and outer tubes. The internally threaded connecting portion 421 is designed to be detachably screwed to one of the following components: the externally threaded connection 22, the externally threaded connection 32, or the outlet opening 121. In the present embodiment, the internally threaded connecting portion 421 is screwed to the externally threaded connection 22.

[0023] The connecting section 422 for the inner and outer tubes is formed integrally with the internally threaded connecting section 421 and serves for a fixed connection to the inside of the connecting end 411 of the outer tube body 41. In the present exemplary embodiment, the connecting section 422 is screwed to an internal thread in the connecting end 411 via an external thread.

[0024] The inner tube body 43 comprises a coupling tube piece 431 and an elastic tube body 432. The coupling tube piece 431 is screwed into the connection section 422 for the inner and outer tubes. The elastic tube body 432 is slipped over at one end and firmly connected to the coupling tube piece 431 and arranged within the outer tube body 41. In the present embodiment, the inner tube body 43 is in fluid communication with the extension tube 2 and thus with the spray gun main body 1 via the connecting piece 42.

[0025] Fig. 5 shows a schematic sectional view along the line BB in Fig. 3. As in the Fig. 2 to Fig. 5, in the present exemplary embodiment, the outer surface 23 of the extension tube 2 is designed as a polygonal outer contour with a structured, rough surface. As a result, when the extension tube 2 is manually screwed to the spray gun main body 1, the polygonal shape and the rough surface increase the friction on the outer surface 23, which facilitates handling during gripping and turning. Accordingly, when screwing the blower tube 4 to the extension tube 2, the non-circular cylindrical shape and the rough texture of the outer surface 413 can also be utilized to increase friction and facilitate manual connection.

[0026] Fig. Figure 6 shows a perspective view of a spray gun assembled with the spray gun extension system according to the invention. As shown in the Fig. 2 to Fig. 6, the blowpipe 4 can not only - as in Fig. 3 - be connected to the spray gun main body 1 via a single extension tube 2 to increase the distance between the opening end 412 of the blow tube 4 and the spray gun main body 1, but - as shown in Fig. 6 - can also be connected to each other via two extension tubes 2, 3, whereby the distance between the opening end 412 and the spray gun main body 1 can be increased again.

[0027] As can be seen from the above, in the present embodiment, the blowpipe 4 can be connected either to one extension pipe 2 or to two extension pipes 2, 3. However, this is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the blowpipe 4 can also be connected to a larger number of extension pipes or directly to the connection head 12. Thus, the spray gun extension system 100 allows the user to flexibly select the number of extension pipes 2, 3 used according to their respective needs and thus individually adjust the overall length of the spray gun.

[0028] Fig. 7 shows a perspective view of another preferred embodiment of the spray gun extension system according to the invention, while Fig. 8 shows a perspective view of a spray gun assembled therewith. As shown in the Fig. 2 to Fig. As can be seen in Figure 8, the spray gun extension system includes, in addition to the above-described embodiment 100, an alternative embodiment 100a. The only difference between system 100a and the previously described system 100 is that a modified spray gun main body 1a is provided instead of the spray gun main body 1. The spray gun main body 1a also has a handle section 11a and a connection head 12a. The handle section 11a differs from the handle section 11 only in terms of its external shape and the type of actuation, but fulfills the same function. The connection head 12a is identical in structure and function to the connection head 12 and also has an outlet opening 121a to which the extension tube 2, the extension tube 3, or the blower tube 4 can be connected.

[0029] In summary, the spray gun extension system according to the invention offers a decisive improvement in terms of flexibility and accessibility compared to the prior art. While the limited length of the outlet tube in conventional spray guns makes inserting the blower opening into narrow gaps difficult or impossible, the present system comprises one or more extension tubes. This allows the user to freely select the number of extension tubes to be connected as needed and thus adjust the position of the opening end of the blower tube relative to the spray gun main body. This allows for convenient adjustment of the overall length of the spray gun and significantly improves handling when cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
