Description

[0001] The invention relates to a side tarpaulin for a commercial vehicle body, a commercial vehicle body and a commercial vehicle.

[0002] DE 102012 111 012 B4 discloses a side tarpaulin for a commercial vehicle body with a protective plate. The protective plate is connected to the side tarpaulin adjacent to a side edge of the side tarpaulin and is made of a more rigid material than the side tarpaulin. Several tensioning straps are provided on the side tarpaulin in the longitudinal direction of the latter in an edge area adjacent to a lower side edge of the side tarpaulin. One end of the tensioning straps is attached to the upper edge of the edge area and the other end has hooks with which they engage, during use, in corresponding openings provided on the chassis of a semi-trailer or similar attachment elements. The protective plate is arranged between two tensioning straps which, when in use, are aligned perpendicular to the respective side edge of the side tarpaulin.

[0003] The invention is based on the object of specifying a novel side tarpaulin for a commercial vehicle body, a novel commercial vehicle body and a novel commercial vehicle.

[0004] The object is achieved according to the invention by a side tarpaulin which has the features specified in claim 1, by a commercial vehicle body which has the features specified in claim 12, and by a commercial vehicle which has the features specified in claim 13.

[0005] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the subclaims.

[0006] The side tarpaulin according to the invention for a commercial vehicle body comprises: - a plurality of marking elements arranged in an edge region adjacent to a lower side edge of the side tarpaulin, which are designed to optically mark contact surfaces arranged on the commercial vehicle body for grippers of a crane and whose dimensions at least substantially correspond to the dimensions of the contact surfaces, - a plurality of tarpaulin closure elements arranged in the edge region, wherein the marking elements are each arranged between two tarpaulin closure elements at a distance from these, wherein the tarpaulin closure elements are each fastened to the side tarpaulin in a fastening region arranged above the marking elements and laterally next to them and each have through-openings which, in a closed position of the respective tarpaulin closure element, lie on a common axis and are designed to pass through a rope which, when passed through the through-openings, blocks the opening of the tarpaulin closure elements, and - Deflection elements which are fastened to the fastening areas of the tarpaulin closure elements arranged directly next to the marking elements, wherein each deflection element is designed to guide the cable upwards from a through-opening of an immediately adjacent tarpaulin closure element facing the corresponding marking element next to the corresponding marking element and to guide the cable above the corresponding marking element to the opposite deflection element arranged on the further deflection element directly next to the corresponding marking element.

[0007] Particularly when a commercial vehicle with a tarpaulin body travels across national borders, a rope, also known as a customs rope, customs cord, or TIR cable, is used to secure a cargo space enclosed by the tarpaulin body against unauthorized access. A customs seal is attached to the rope. The rope is used to close the tarpaulin fastening elements of the side tarpaulins, in particular the side, front, and rear side tarpaulins, in such a way that the cargo space is sealed and unauthorized opening during transport can be proven. If the customs seal or rope is removed, damaged, or altered without authorization, this is considered a breach of seal and can lead to legal consequences for the sender or user of the commercial vehicle, such as the incurrence of an import duty liability, particularly during transit journeys.

[0008] To load commercial vehicles, in particular commercial vehicle trailers such as semi-trailers, onto a rail vehicle, the commercial vehicle is lifted by a crane and positioned on the rail vehicle. For this purpose, the crane is equipped with grippers which, for lifting and moving, are initially placed laterally against the commercial vehicle and which, in the process, grip contact surfaces provided in reinforced areas of the commercial vehicle frame, particularly in the area of the frame's longitudinal supports. Since these contact surfaces are often concealed by the corresponding side tarpaulin, the marking elements are arranged on the tarpaulin. These elements are designed to visually mark the contact surfaces for the crane's grippers.

[0009] These contact surfaces are designed so that their upper edge is located above the cable openings, so that the cable is guided over the contact surfaces or the marking elements on the side tarpaulin. This results in the risk that the grippers could catch and damage the cable when gripping the commercial vehicle or after gripping, which can lead to the consequences mentioned above.

[0010] This side tarpaulin minimizes this risk by guiding the rope around the marking elements using deflection elements in such a way that the risk of the rope coming into contact with the grippers is minimized. This minimizes the risk of damage to the rope and the customs seal caused by the crane's grippers.

[0011] Because the deflection elements are attached to the fastening areas of the tarpaulin closure elements located directly next to the marking elements, additional fastening elements or welds on the side tarpaulin are no longer required. In particular, existing fastening elements or fastening elements intended for the tarpaulin closure elements to the side tarpaulin, such as screw connections, are used to attach the deflection elements. This eliminates any significant additional effort when installing the deflection elements on the side tarpaulin. Alternatively or additionally, the deflection elements can be pre-assembled or attached to the corresponding tarpaulin closure element and thus mounted to the side tarpaulin together with the tarpaulin closure element.

[0012] Because no separate fastening areas have to be created on the side tarpaulin for fastening the deflection elements by welding on reinforcements, which requires the reinforcements to be made in a respective tarpaulin color, the side tarpaulin can be prefabricated in a particularly advantageous manner and an existing contour marking is not interrupted.

[0013] This also eliminates the need for laborious repositioning of the tarpaulin fastening elements upwards to accommodate the rope, eliminating the need to weld an additional welded belt along the entire length of the side tarpaulin to the inside of the tarpaulin and connect it with piping to allow the offset tarpaulin fastening elements to absorb the forces. Redesigning the tarpaulin fastening elements to accommodate the rope upwards is also not necessary.

[0014] Furthermore, the deflection elements can be retrofitted to existing side tarpaulins in a simple and cost-effective manner.

[0015] One possible design for the side tarpaulin is for the deflection elements to each have a deflection opening for the cable to pass through. These deflection openings allow for secure and captive guidance of the cable.

[0016] In another possible design of the side tarpaulin, the distance between the deflection openings and the side tarpaulin is smaller than the distance between the through-holes and the side tarpaulin. This allows the rope to be guided closer to the side tarpaulin in the area next to and above the markings, further reducing the risk of contact with the grippers.

[0017] In another possible design of the side tarpaulin, the deflection elements each have a loop-shaped webbing with a loop opening, with the loop opening forming the deflection opening. This design of the deflection elements is particularly cost-effective and allows for particularly simple attachment of the deflection elements to the fastening elements, such as screw connections, of the tarpaulin closure elements. Furthermore, the mechanically flexible design of the webbing without sharp edges makes it particularly easy to pass the rope through.

[0018] In another possible design of the side tarpaulin, the deflection elements are each designed as a molded part, in particular a rigid part made of metal or plastic, for example. Deflection elements designed in this way are characterized by high mechanical stability and, due to their rigidity, allow the rope to be easily passed through the deflection opening.

[0019] In another possible design of the side tarpaulin, the deflection elements are each formed as a single molded part with the tarpaulin closure element. This allows the deflection elements to be mounted on the side tarpaulin together with the respective tarpaulin closure element without requiring a separate assembly step. This design also results in a reduction in the number of parts, simplifying handling of the parts during assembly.

[0020] In a further possible design of the side tarpaulin, the tarpaulin closure elements are each - a tensioning strap, - a tensioning element for tensioning and fixing the tensioning belt, which is attached to the side tarpaulin in the fastening area arranged above the marking elements and which has the through-openings, and - a fastening element arranged at an end of the tensioning strap facing away from the tensioning element, which is designed for attachment to a frame of the commercial vehicle body. Such a design of the tarpaulin fastening elements enables secure tensioning of the side tarpaulin, for example, even with a variable height of the tarpaulin body.

[0021] In a further possible embodiment of the side tarpaulin, it is provided that the tensioning elements each have a base body fastened to the side tarpaulin in the fastening area and a lever mounted on the base body, wherein the lever, in an open position, enables movement of the tensioning belt in the tensioning element for tensioning or releasing the tensioning belt and, in a closed position, is fixed to the base body and fixes the tensioning belt in its predetermined position in the tensioning element, and wherein the lever and the base body have mutually corresponding openings which, in the closed position of the lever, lie on a common axis and form the through-openings. Such a design of the tensioning elements enables particularly simple and reliable tensioning of the side tarpaulin.

[0022] In another possible embodiment of the side tarpaulin, reinforcement elements are arranged in the fastening areas of the side tarpaulin. These reinforcement elements are made of a mechanically more stable, in particular more rigid, material than the side tarpaulin. This prevents damage to the side tarpaulin caused by the absorption of forces by the tarpaulin closure elements and the deflection elements.

[0023] In another possible design of the side tarpaulin, the marking elements are made of a mechanically more stable, particularly dimensionally stable, material than the side tarpaulin. This prevents damage to the side tarpaulin and the marking elements caused by the crane's grippers.

[0024] The commercial vehicle body according to the invention comprises a frame and at least one aforementioned side tarpaulin.

[0025] The commercial vehicle according to the invention has an aforementioned commercial vehicle body.

[0026] In one possible design of the commercial vehicle body, it is constructed as a commercial vehicle trailer, in particular as a semi-trailer.

[0027] Embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to drawings.

[0028] Showing: Fig. 1 schematically shows a side view of a commercial vehicle according to the prior art, Fig. 2 schematically shows a plan view of a section of a side tarpaulin, Fig. 3 schematically shows a sectional view of the section according to Fig. 2, Fig. 4 schematically shows a plan view of a flat side of a loop-shaped deflection element, Fig. 5 schematically shows a plan view of an end face of the deflection element according to Fig. 4 and Fig. 6 schematically shows a plan view of a flat side of the deflection element according to Fig. 4 before loop-shaped formation.

[0029] Corresponding parts are provided with the same reference numerals in all figures.

[0030] Fig. 1 shows a side view of a commercial vehicle 100 according to the prior art.

[0031] The commercial vehicle 100 is a commercial vehicle trailer designed as a semi-trailer.

[0032] The commercial vehicle 100 has a commercial vehicle body 200 designed as a tarpaulin body with a frame 300 and a side tarpaulin 400.

[0033] Two marking elements 500, 501 are arranged on the side tarpaulin 400 in an edge region adjacent to a lower side edge of the side tarpaulin 400. These marking elements are designed to visually mark contact surfaces (not shown in detail) for crane grippers arranged on the frame 300 of the commercial vehicle body 200, and their dimensions at least substantially correspond to the dimensions of the contact surfaces. The marking elements 500, 501 are formed, for example, from a mechanically more stable, in particular more rigid, material than the side tarpaulin 400 and are, for example, welded or glued onto the side tarpaulin 400.

[0034] Furthermore, a plurality of tarpaulin closure elements 600 are arranged on the side tarpaulin 400 in the edge region in the longitudinal direction of the tarpaulin. The tarpaulin closure elements 600 are each fastened to the side tarpaulin 400 in a fastening region 700 arranged above the marking elements 500 and laterally next to them, and each have through-openings (not shown in detail), which, in a closed position of the respective tarpaulin closure element 600, lie on a common axis and are designed to pass through a cable 800, which, when passed through the through-openings, blocks the opening of the tarpaulin closure elements 600. In particular, reinforcing elements (not shown in detail) are arranged in the fastening regions 700 of the side tarpaulin 400, which are made of a mechanically more stable, in particular more dimensionally stable, material than the side tarpaulin 400.

[0035] The cable 800, also referred to as a customs cable, customs cord, or TIR cable, is intended for securing a cargo space enclosed by the tarpaulin body against unauthorized access. For example, a customs seal (not shown in detail) is attached to the cable 800. The tarpaulin closure elements 600 of the side tarpaulin 400 are closed by the cable 800 in such a way that a cargo space enclosed by the commercial vehicle body 200 is sealed, and unauthorized opening during transport can be verified.

[0036] The marking elements 500 are each arranged between two tarpaulin closure elements 600, spaced apart from the latter. The contact surfaces for the crane's grippers and the marking elements 500 are designed such that their upper edge is located above the through-openings of the cable 800, so that the cable 800 is guided over the contact surfaces or the marking elements 500 on the side tarpaulin 400. This results in the risk that the grippers will grasp and damage the cable 800 when gripping the commercial vehicle 100 or after gripping.

[0037] In Fig. 2 is a plan view of a section of a possible embodiment of a side tarpaulin 400 for a commercial vehicle 100 and in Fig. 3 a sectional view of the section according to Fig. 2. The commercial vehicle 100 is analogous to the one shown in Fig. The commercial vehicle 100 shown in Figure 1 is, for example, a commercial vehicle trailer designed as a semi-trailer.

[0038] In contrast to Fig. 1, the commercial vehicle body 200 has deflection elements 900, which are fastened to the fastening areas 700 of the tarpaulin closure elements 600 arranged directly next to the marking elements 500. Each deflection element 900 is designed to guide the cable 800 upwards from a through-opening of an immediately adjacent tarpaulin closure element 600, facing the corresponding marking element 500, next to the corresponding marking element 500, and to guide the cable 800 above the corresponding marking element 500 to the opposite deflection element 900 arranged on the further deflection element 900 directly next to the corresponding marking element 500.

[0039] The deflection elements 900 each have a deflection opening 901 for guiding the cable 800. The respective distance between the deflection openings 901 and the side tarpaulin 400 is smaller than the respective distance between the feed-through openings and the side tarpaulin 400.

[0040] In the illustrated embodiment, the tarpaulin closure elements 600 each have a tensioning belt 601 and a tensioning element 602 for tensioning and securing the tensioning belt 601. The tensioning element 602 is fastened to the side tarpaulin 400 in a fastening area 700 arranged above the marking elements 500 and has the through-openings not shown in detail.

[0041] In particular, the tensioning elements 602 each have a base body 603 fastened to the side tarpaulin 400 in the fastening area 700 and a lever 604 mounted on the base body 603. In an open position, the lever 604 enables movement of the tensioning belt 601 in the tensioning element 602 for tensioning or releasing the tensioning belt 601. In a closed position, the lever 604 is fixed to the base body 603, for example by means of a releasable lock, and fixes the tensioning belt 601 in its predetermined position in the tensioning element 602. The lever 604 and the base body 603 have openings that correspond to one another in a manner not shown in detail, which openings lie on a common axis in the closed position of the lever 604 and form the through-openings for the cable 800. When the cable 800 is guided through the openings, the opening of the lever 604 is blocked by the cable 800.

[0042] The respective base body 603 is fastened in the associated fastening area 700 on the side tarpaulin 400 by means of fastening elements 701, 702, for example screw connections.

[0043] Furthermore, the tarpaulin closure elements 600 each have a fastening element 605 arranged at an end of the tensioning belt 601 facing away from the tensioning element 602, which is designed for attachment to the frame 300 of the commercial vehicle body 200. The fastening elements 605 are each designed, for example, as fastening hooks.

[0044] In Fig. 4 shows a plan view of a flat side of a possible embodiment of a loop-shaped deflection element 900. Fig. 5 shows a plan view of a front side of the deflection element 900 according to Fig. 4 and Fig. 6 schematically shows a plan view of a flat side of the deflection element 900 according to Fig.4 before loop-shaped formation.

[0045] For example, the respective deflection element 900 comprises a loop-shaped belt strap 902 with a loop opening, wherein the loop opening forms the deflection opening 901.

[0046] When forming the webbing 902 into a loop, the flat sides of the webbing are placed on top of each other to form the loop opening and are, for example, punched together.

[0047] In order to fasten the deflection element 900 to the fastening elements 701, 702, in particular screw connections, the belt strap 902 has a plurality of openings 903 to 906 corresponding to the fastening elements 701, 702, through which screws of the screw connections can be guided.
