Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a component magazine for providing components with a holder, wherein the holder has a loading end and a removal end from which the component to be removed can be removed, wherein the holder is rotatable about a rotation axis and can be moved from a horizontal position into a tilted position, wherein in the tilted position the removal end points in a downward direction towards the floor and wherein the holder is rotatable back into the horizontal position. The invention further relates to a system for mounting components on a support rail, which system comprises a component magazine, a tool for removing the component from the component magazine and for mounting the component on the support rail.
[0002] Component magazines are well known in the field of electrical engineering, for example. Electrical components such as terminals, contactors, power supplies, and control units are removed from the magazine using tools such as robot grippers and then connected to mounting rails, such as DIN rails, C-rails, and G-rails of various widths. These mounting rails, also known as electrical rails, are installed in control cabinets, for example, where the corresponding electrical cables are then attached to the electrical components. Top-hat-shaped mounting rails with snap-on feet are essential for electrical components. The mounting rails can also be mounted on mounting plates, which is often the case, for example, with regard to an entire system. Alternative components that differ from the previously described electrical components can be mounted directly on a mounting plate or sorted into packaging, or similar. In addition to their use in the field of electrical engineering, component magazines can also be used in the toy, packaging, pharmaceutical or food industries.
[0003] In the field of electrical components, component magazines in which the components are stacked vertically are known from practice. The loading end is at the top, the removal end is at the bottom and is designed to allow easy access for a tool, particularly a robot gripper arm. On the one hand, it is advantageous that other components stacked on top of the component to be removed automatically rest on it due to gravity. However, the disadvantage is that with many components, the pressure exerted on the component to be removed and located at the bottom is enormous. In such a situation, a robot has to overcome this enormous pressure when gripping and pulling out the component to be removed, which can lead to the components slipping. This, in turn, can lead to removed components falling from the robot's gripper or to the component being displaced from the mounting rail. The flawed transition of the component from the magazine to the removal device, which is often fraught in practice, has a negative impact on the quality of subsequent handling of the component with regard to the placement of the ready-to-use mounting rails or trays, which generally require compliance with certain predefined coordinates. The associated production downtime costs time and money.
[0004] The document DE 27 51 856 A1 shows a holder that can be moved into a tilting position for emptying.
[0005] The invention is based on the object of providing a component magazine of the type in question and a system comprising the component magazine, which enables improved, precise removal of a component from the magazine. Furthermore, with regard to the system comprising the component magazine, a secure and precisely positioned fastening of the components removed from the component magazine on a support rail is to be enabled.
[0006] The above object is achieved by the features of patent claim 1. According to this, a component magazine of the type in question is designed and developed in such a way that the components move in the tilted position up to a stop at the removal end of the holder in preparation for component removal, and that the holder can be rotated into the horizontal position for component removal.
[0007] The above-mentioned further object is achieved with respect to a system comprising the component magazine according to the invention by the features of patent claim 8. Accordingly, a system of the type in question is designed and developed in such a way that a clamping device with at least one clamping element is provided, which exerts a clamping force on the support rail in the operating state.
[0008] Firstly, it was recognised that in the component magazine known from practice with components arranged vertically one above the other, the pressure exerted on the component to be removed at the bottom makes removal and precise assembly more difficult. This pressure creates resistance in the component to be removed, which means that a tool cannot remove it precisely and consequently cannot position and mount it precisely on a support rail. Changing the pressure situation is a first inventive idea. Although the document DE 2751856 offers emptying in the tilted position of the holder, the desired precision during removal cannot be achieved in this way. According to the invention, it was recognised that the removal position of the component to be removed can be changed.According to the invention, it has further been recognized that the component to be removed can be preparatory positioned and, in particular, gravity and the pressure applied by subsequent components can be utilized if the holder can be rotated from a horizontal position into a tilted position, so that the downstream components slide against a stop at the removal end in a tilted position oriented downwards towards the ground thanks to gravity, and the component to be removed is thus positioned at the stop. In a departure from the teaching of DE 27 51 856 A1, it has finally been recognized according to the invention that after completion of the preparatory positioning in the tilted position, the holder can be rotated back into the horizontal position, where the component to be removed can then be precisely positioned but, according to the invention, unstressed by the pressure of subsequent components, removed from a tool without problems and later assembled.
[0009] According to the invention, it has further been recognized that the security of the components mounted on the support rail with regard to their exact position and whereabouts can be guaranteed thanks to the clamping device according to the invention. Secure installation is achieved according to the invention by clamping the support rail in such a way that, on the one hand, the mounted components can be installed in the desired position and, on the other hand, loss of the components arranged on it is ruled out. The clamping force is applied primarily with the aim of determining the position of the support rail. Furthermore, according to a preferred embodiment that is very advantageous for the invention, the support rail edges could be held in an optimal position for the snap-in foot for components with a snap-in foot.
[0010] On the one hand, the component magazine could be tilted by rotating it around its longitudinal axis. For applications involving electrical components, the rotation axis could run perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the holder, since a large number of electrical components are arranged one behind the other perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the holder.
[0011] To assist in positioning the component to be removed from the outset, the holder could have guide means that are tailored to the shape of the component. According to a preferred embodiment, guide wires could be provided along the inner sides of the holder, corresponding to the outer contour of the respective component. Furthermore, guide wires could also be provided at the bottom of the holder.
[0012] With a view to unhindered removal of the component closest to the stop at the removal end, the guide means could have a distance from the stop at the removal end whose dimension is at least slightly larger than the depth dimension of the component to be removed. This applies in particular to the lateral guide wires. Removal by the tool is advantageously optimized according to the invention by avoiding pressure build-up by subsequent components and, particularly advantageously, additionally by the positionally accurate feeding and the release measures at a distance from the stop at the removal end. As an alternative to removing the component using a tool, manual removal by a person could also be realized.
[0013] For lightweight components, a weight, particularly a lead-filled carriage, could be placed inside the holder to ensure complete movement of the components in the holder during the tilting position until they reach the stop at the removal end. This weight could contact the component closest to the loading end, exerting pressure on it through the weight and thus pushing all components to the stop.
[0014] To implement the tilting movement of the holder, the component magazine according to the invention could provide at least one pivot bearing on the underside thereof, which rests on a guide rod. The guide rod could be mounted so as to be vertically movable in guides of two spaced-apart frame components of a frame. These could be vertical supports, for example. The raising and lowering of the guide rod, which can be achieved in particular via motor drives, leads to a change in the position of the removal end of the holder. For holders that have a greater length, a second pivot bearing with a second guide rod could be provided, which is arranged adjacent to the loading end, wherein the ends of the second guide rod can be moved up and down in movable guides of the frame. In the tilting position, the first guide rod adjacent to the removal end is at a lower height orat a shorter distance from the floor or subsurface, while the second guide rod, adjacent to the loading end, is moved upwards and has a significantly greater distance from the subsurface. Alternatively, the first guide rod could also be fixed and form the rotation axis if the height of the first guide rod corresponds to the desired removal level.
[0015] The degree of tilt, or the angle between the horizontal and tilted positions, depends on the design requirements of the tool to be removed. According to a preferred embodiment, a rotation angle between the horizontal and tilted positions of the holder has been found to be in the range of 10° to 80°. However, depending on the quantity and quality of the components or the presence of a weight / cart, the rotation angle range has been found to be between 30° and 50°.
[0016] In any case, it must be ensured that the components in the holder are moved completely up to the stop and that when the horizontal position is reached again, the component to be removed remains pressure-free at the stop so that removal can take place without errors.
[0017] Instead of the previously described holder, in which a large number of components are arranged one behind the other, several holders could be arranged within a large-format component magazine according to the invention. These holders could each be tailored to a specific component and arranged side by side, alternatively or additionally one above the other.
[0018] If several receptacles are arranged next to one another, these could theoretically be tilted individually. According to a preferred embodiment, all receptacles arranged next to one another on one level are assigned pivot bearings near the loading end and near the removal end, so that they can each be arranged on a common first guide rod and on a common second guide rod and execute a joint tilting movement. This opens up the possibility of corresponding tools to remove components in a single tilting process, corresponding to the number of receptacles. The further development of this idea entails the design of the tool, in particular a robot, which has a corresponding number of gripper arms designed to remove the respective specific component. The entire system could be expanded to include a variety of assembly stations with support rails, mounting plates, and the like. A control system would coordinate the sequence and diversity of assembly steps for multiple gripper arms simultaneously.
[0019] The component magazine according to the invention could be part of a system according to the invention for mounting components on the support rail, which also includes the aforementioned tool for removing the component from the component magazine and an assembly station for mounting the component on the support rail. The system according to the invention is characterized by the provision of a clamping device with at least one clamping element.
[0020] The assembly station or clamping device could also be assigned to differently designed component magazines. The clamping device also offers the advantages described here when used in conjunction with existing component magazines and can be used as a separate assembly in the form of a retrofittable unit.
[0021] Particularly advantageously, the clamping device could comprise two opposing clamping elements which, in the operating state, exert a clamping force on the first free end and on the second free end of the support rail. In the idle state, the clamping elements could extend outside the area of the support rail. To achieve the operating state, the two clamping elements could engage in the free ends of the support rail and the clamping force could act in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the support rail with opposite orientation, towards each other. In this way, the support rail is clamped or fixed in a precise, in particular centered, position in the direction of the longitudinal axis. With regard to components that are not permanently mounted on a support rail, the components could also be secured in the direction of the longitudinal axis in an advantageous manner if the clamping elements are designed accordingly.
[0022] An advantageous design of the clamping elements with a conical shape at the engagement area could act on the side parts of the support rail in addition to the longitudinal axial clamping and positioning of the support rail. The clamping force could act on the edge areas of the support rail transversely to the longitudinal axis of the support rail, which in a preferred embodiment is designed as a top-hat rail. The orientation of the clamping force directed transversely to the longitudinal axis of the top-hat rail could be away from each other, thus achieving positioning or centering of the support rail edges relative to the longitudinal axis of the support rail. The precise position or centering of the side parts of the support rail, in particular the support rail edges, is of great importance, especially for the top-hat rails mentioned above. When snapped into the DIN-standardized top-hat rail, the DIN-standardized snap-on foot of the components is tilted around its edge and then snaps into place under the edge. If the side parts are precisely positioned and centered with the mounting rail edges, this optimizes component assembly and prevents canting, skewing, and similar quality defects. As an alternative to centering in conjunction with symmetrical components, the clamping elements could also be designed asymmetrically in the engagement area to allow for a different desired positioning depending on the geometry of other components. Furthermore, the clamping elements could additionally or alternatively have designs in the engagement area that influence the alignment of the side parts of the mounting rail from the outside. With symmetrical components, the clamping force could then also act transversely to the longitudinal axis, but oriented inwards.Ultimately, the shape of the clamping elements in the engagement area must be tailored to the component to be assembled in such a way that the support rail is perfectly aligned for the assembly of the component. The engagement depth of the clamping elements can also vary. Furthermore, it is possible to adapt the clamping device to assembly stations that are designed for differently designed components.
[0023] According to a preferred design implementation of the clamping device of the system according to the invention, the clamping elements could be arranged below the support rail in the resting state. This way, they do not interfere with the travel paths of the tool or other moving components.
[0024] Furthermore, the support rail could not only be mounted on a mounting plate, but the mounting plate and the support rail could also be temporarily connected to a movable base plate. The base plate could be part of a support block that includes the drives for the base plate and the clamping elements.
[0025] According to a preferred embodiment, the base plate could be moved vertically and brought into congruent position and contact with a mounting plate with a support rail located above it. The temporary connection between the base plate and the mounting plate could then be established. This temporary connection could be realized mechanically using fasteners. The clamping elements could then be transferred to the operating state and perform the positioning—in this case, centering—of the support rail and, if necessary, its support rail edges.
[0026] An advantageous connection technique that significantly reduces mechanical effort and time expenditure could be achieved through the use of vacuum. The instantly accessible and detachable suction connection is particularly preferred. The base plate could, for example, have a groove that serves to accommodate a sealing cord. When establishing contact, particularly congruent contact, between the base and mounting plates, this sealing cord could already be slightly compressed. The mounting rail and / or the mounting rail edges could then be positioned using the clamping device.
[0027] The vacuum is preferably switched on once the mounting rail positioning is complete. This would be the case if the positioning of the mounting rail is achieved via the mounting plate itself and the latter still needs to be movable. Irrespective of the position of the clamping elements after the mounting rail positioning, the vacuum can remain switched on until the mounting plate with the components mounted on it is ready for the next application or transport to the next application. It is particularly advantageous that the vacuum is still active when the operating state of the clamping elements is ended after the desired components have been mounted on the mounting rail. This ensures that the mounting rail is not pulled along when the clamping elements are released from the mounting rail to reach the rest state. As soon as the assembled mounting plate is to be moved to a new position on its own, e.g.is to be placed on a conveyor belt, the suction connection can be removed.
[0028] There are now various possibilities for advantageously embodying and developing the teaching of the present invention. For this purpose, reference is made, on the one hand, to the claims subordinate to claim 1 and, on the other hand, to the following explanation of an embodiment of the invention with reference to the drawing. In conjunction with the explanation of the stated embodiment of the invention, generally preferred embodiments and developments of the teaching are also explained. [0029] The Fig. 7 shows the component magazine 1 according to the invention, which serves to provide components 2. The component magazine 1 comprises, according to the schematic diagram in Fig. 1 a receptacle 3, which has a loading end 4 and a removal end 5. The component 2 to be removed can be removed at the removal end 5. The embodiment described here relates to a component magazine 1 that has not just one, but several receptacles 3 arranged above and next to one another.
[0030] As in Fig. 1b ), the holder 3 is rotatable about a rotation axis D and is in preparation for the removal of the component from a horizontal position H in the rest state R, which is in Fig. 1a) is shown, into a tilting position K. In the tilting position K, the removal end 5 points downwards, towards the floor 6, whereby the components 2 move up to a stop 7 at the removal end 5 of the holder 3. To remove the component 2, the holder 3 is in the horizontal position H, in its Fig. 1c ) shown operating state B. Reference numeral 8 denotes a tool with a gripper arm 9, which removes the component 2 that is closest to the stop 7 by means of gripper jaws. The gripper jaws of the gripper arm 9 are particularly clearly visible in Fig. 8 are recognizable, but are not further described. Fig. 1 The rotation axis D of the holder 3, shown as a point and pointing perpendicularly into the plane of the sheet, extends transversely to the longitudinal axis L of the holder 3. A rotation angle α of approximately 30° is included between the plane of the horizontal position H and the plane of the tilt position K of the holder 3.
[0031] Fig. 2shows that the receptacle 3 comprises guide means in the form of guide wires 10, which are adapted to the shape of the identically shaped components 2. Fig. 3 It follows that the guide wires 10 have a distance A from the stop 7 at the removal end 5, the dimension of which is slightly larger than the depth dimension T of the component 2 to be removed. The components 2 of the exemplary embodiment described here are components 2 with a particularly low dead weight. To ensure the complete movement of the components 2 located in the holder 3 during the tilting position K up to the stop 7, a carriage 12 filled with lead is provided within the holder 3 at the removal end 5, which Fig. 4 is shown. In the tilting position K, the carriage 12 presses against the component 2 that is closest to the loading end 4 and thus simultaneously against all components 2 up to the stop 7.
[0032] To realize the tilting position K, pivot bearings 14 are assigned to the underside of the receptacle 3, which in the present embodiment are each seated on a guide rod 15, 16. The pivot bearing 14 is held in position on the guide rod 15, 16 via locking rings 13 and can rotate on the guide rod 15, 16. In the present embodiment, the guide rod 15 arranged closer to the removal end 5 is fixedly arranged between two frame components of the frame 18 and secured via a bearing component not designated in more detail. The guide rod 16 adjacent to the loading end 4 is, according to Fig. 5 vertically movable in a guide 17 of two spaced frame components of the frame 18. The frame 18 of the component magazine 1 according to the invention is in Fig. 7 shown.
[0033] The Figs. 6 and 7show that within a component magazine 1, several receptacles 3 are arranged next to each other and one above the other with different components 2. It can also be seen that the guide rods 15 adjacent to the removal end 5 are fixed in vertical supports 19 of the frame 18. In contrast, the guide rods 16 adjacent to the loading end 4 are guided vertically displaceably in guides 17 of vertical sections 20 of side parts 21 of the frame 18. As in Fig. 1b), the loading end 4 moves upwards to reach the tilting position K, and the removal end 5 moves downwards, towards the floor 6. Reference numeral 22 designates a drive device which causes the up-and-down movement of the guide rods 16 in the vertical sections 20 and is arranged on the cross member 23 of the frame 18. The vertical sections 20 of the side parts 21 only allow the movement of the guide rods 16, but do not require their own drive. Each of the holders 3 can be replaced separately by lifting the pivot bearing 14 out of contact with the guide rod 15 and removing it in the direction of the loading end 4. The holder 3 is inserted by placing the pivot bearing 14 on the guide rod 15 and positioning it using the locking rings 13.
[0034] The Fig. 7shows the entire system according to the invention, the component of which is, on the one hand, the component magazine 1 according to the invention, but on the other hand also the tool 8 and the assembly station 24. The tool 8 is arranged to be movable in the tool frame 25. 26 denotes transmission means of drives (not shown) which ensure the mobility of the tool 8 in the form of a robot with gripper arm 9. The gripper arm 9 has just removed a component 2 from the upper level of the holders 3 and, in the next step, pivots it to the assembly station 24, which is in the Fig. 8 to 11 described.
[0035] The Fig. 8 shows that the head of the gripper 9 is moving a component 2 onto a Fig. 9visible support rail 27, on which various components 2 are already arranged. Furthermore, a clamping device in the rest state R with opposing clamping elements 28, 29 is shown, wherein the clamping elements 28, 29 extend below the area of the support rail 27.
[0036] In operating mode B, which is in the Figs. 10 and 11 As shown, the first clamping element 28 and the second clamping element 29 each exert a clamping force FL, FQ on the first free end 30 and on the second free end 31 of the support rail 27. For this purpose, the clamping elements 28, 29 engage in the free ends 30, 31 of the support rail 27, wherein the clamping force FL in the direction of the Fig. 9 shown longitudinal axis L of the support rail 27 with opposite orientation, towards each other, whereby the positionally accurate fixing of the support rail 27 is achieved.
[0037] The clamping elements 28, 29 have a conical shape 39 at the engagement area, and the clamping force FQ acts as they progressively engage the free ends 30, 31 of the support rail 27 in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis L of the support rail 27 with opposite orientations, away from each other. This results in precise positioning or centering of the support rail 27 and the support rail edges 11 such that the component 2, which has a DIN-standardized snap-on foot (not further described here), can be precisely placed and tilted on the support rail edge 11 during assembly and finally engages under the support rail edges 11.
[0038] The support rail 27 is designed here as a DIN-standardized top-hat rail and is fastened to a mounting plate 32 by means of pop rivets 33. The mounting plate 32, equipped with the support rail 27 and otherwise unequipped, is positioned above a base plate 34 by means of tool 8 from a removal point not shown here. The base plate 34 moves upwards by means of drive device 35 and contacts the positioned mounting plate 2 on its underside. Once contact is established, two further drive devices 36, 37 move the clamping elements 28, 29 from their Figs. 8 and 9 shown idle state R into the operating state B, which is in the Figures 10, 11 is shown. In operating state B of the clamping elements 28, 29, the support rail 27 is positioned or centered.
[0039] The base plate 34 has a groove 40 on its upper side into which a sealing cord can be inserted, and is arranged on a support block 38, via which a vacuum can be applied. Once the support rail 27 is positioned or centered, the mounting plate 32 is subjected to a vacuum via the base plate 34. The components 2 are then applied to the support rail 27.
[0040] For clarification, the Figs. 8 and 9 through an exploded view, the view under the mounting plate 32 already equipped with components 2 onto the base plate 34.
[0041] The vacuum activated after positioning the support rail 27 and the support rail edges 11 remains activated even when the operating state B of the clamping elements 28, 29 is terminated, i.e., when the components 2 are completely mounted on the support rail 27. This ensures that when the clamping elements 28, 29 are released from the support rail 27 to reach the rest state R, the latter is not pulled along under any circumstances.
[0042] Once the mounting plate 32 has been loaded with components 2 as desired, the base plate 34, together with the mounting plate 32 still under vacuum, is moved downwards by means of the drive device 35 and the entire support block 38 to a conveying device (not shown), e.g., a conveyor belt. The vacuum is only switched off shortly before the loaded mounting plate 32 is transferred to the conveying device.
[0043] For further features not shown in the figures, reference is made to the general part of the description.
[0044] Finally, it should be noted that the teaching of the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment discussed above. Rather, a wide variety of configurations of the mounts, tilting mechanisms, movement sequences, and positioning techniques at the assembly site are possible, relative to a carrier of any other design and / or relative to a mounting plate, as long as they are limited by the appended claims.
