AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Current sheet-shaped cell cultures for tissue repair are fragile and difficult to operate in clinical applications, requiring improved bioadhesiveness and ease of use for wider adoption in regenerative medicine.

Method used

A bioadhesive sheet-shaped material comprising an extracellular matrix layer on one surface and a biodegradable gel layer on the other, with a sheet-shaped cell culture interposed between them, designed for attachment to organs using a laparoscope or thoracoscope, featuring somatic cells like myoblasts or mesenchymal stem cells, and a method for producing and applying this material for disease treatment.

Benefits of technology

The bioadhesive sheet-shaped material achieves favorable bioadhesiveness and ease of attachment to organs, enabling less invasive procedures and maintaining effective tissue continuity, thus enhancing the therapeutic effects and operational simplicity in clinical applications.

Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide a bioadhesive sheet-shaped material for use by attaching the bioadhesive sheet-shaped material onto a surface of an organ, a method for producing the bioadhesive sheet-shaped material, and a method for treating a disease by using the bioadhesive sheet-shaped material. According to the present specification, a bioadhesive sheet-shaped material, including an extracellular matrix layer, a sheet-shaped cell culture, and a biodegradable gel layer, in which the bioadhesive sheet-shaped material has the extracellular matrix layer on one surface and the biodegradable gel layer on the other surface with the sheet-shaped cell culture interposed therebetween, and is for use by attaching the extracellular matrix layer onto a surface of an organ, and the like are provided, and the above problem has been solved.
