Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a multilayer article for generating adhesion to a surface and a method for generating adhesion between a multilayer article and a surface.

[0002] There are numerous technical fields where adhesion between an object and a surface is required. One practical application is an adhesive packer used to inject sealant or filler material into cracks, defects, or similar areas, particularly in buildings or building components.

[0003] It is well known that producing completely crack-free concrete is virtually impossible. Although cracks in concrete components and structures are not a fundamental defect, filling the cracks is desirable or even necessary in some cases. Various techniques are available for this purpose. Injection material can be injected into the cracks via filling nozzles, which are referred to in technical jargon as "packers."

[0004] There are various types of packers. Basically, they are distinguished by their method of attachment to the component as a filling port: drill packers and adhesive packers. Drill packers are cylindrical packers that are installed in pre-drilled holes to serve as filling ports. Drill packers are further differentiated by their installation method: screw packers and impact packers.

[0005] Adhesive packers, on the other hand, are injection ports that are glued directly over a crack on the surface of a component. They are primarily used when non-destructive injection is required and drilling is prohibited. Adhesive packers are glued together with the sealing material that seals the crack. They can be fixed in the center of the crack using nails driven into it beforehand, over which the packer is then positioned. After the sealant has hardened, the opening is released for injection by removing the nail, and the crack is filled with injection material.

[0006] Adhesive packers of this type are described, for example, in WO 92 / 16707 A1, in US 8,4043,029 B2 and in DE 10 2015 112 840 A1. Object of the invention

[0007] The object of the present invention is to provide an alternative multilayer article, in particular in the form of an adhesive packer, which, compared to multilayer articles known from the prior art, is distinguished by improved adhesion to a surface to which it is bonded by an adhesive agent. A further object of the present invention is to provide an alternative method for generating adhesion between a multilayer article and a surface. General description of the invention

[0008] The invention solves this problem with the features of the claims and in particular with a multilayer article for generating adhesion to a surface, wherein the multilayer article has a carrier layer and an adhesion-promoting layer materially bonded to the carrier layer, and wherein a plurality of surface-enlarging elements are arranged on the side of the adhesion-promoting layer facing away from the carrier layer, which are selected from the group comprising or consisting of elements of alternating lengths, barbs, mushroom-shaped elements, a plurality of irregularly arranged plastic threads and / or fibers, and combinations thereof.

[0009] For the purposes of the invention, a surface with "surface-enlarging elements" is understood to mean any surface that is not completely smooth. According to one embodiment, the surface-enlarging elements are elongated structures, e.g., barbs such as those known from hook-and-loop fasteners. Hook-and-loop fasteners are known to consist of a first part having flexible barbs and a second part having loops. Both loops and barbs are suitable as surface-enlarging elements. Accordingly, the adhesive layer of the multilayer article, on one side of which a plurality of surface-enlarging elements are arranged, can be one of the two sides of a hook-and-loop connection, in particular the hook-and-loop layer with flexible barbs.

[0010] According to a preferred embodiment of the multilayer article according to the invention, the surface-enhancing elements arranged on the adhesion-promoting layer are elements of alternating lengths, wherein, in the case of the elements of alternating lengths, a shorter element is preferably arranged between each pair of longer elements, wherein the shorter elements have a pointed shape at their ends facing away from the carrier layer, and the longer elements have a shape that deviates from a pointed shape at their ends facing away from the carrier layer. Preferably, the longer elements have a shape corresponding to a truncated cone with a "head" attached to it and, as a whole, resemble a mushroom. This shape is particularly advantageous because an adhesive applied to the adhesion-promoting layer can accumulate particularly well in the spaces between the elements of alternating lengths and is held better in these spaces by the "heads" of the longer elements.

[0011] According to a further preferred embodiment of the multilayer article according to the invention, the surface-enhancing elements arranged on the adhesion-promoting layer are mushroom-shaped elements, as described in the previous paragraph as longer elements of alternating lengths, wherein in this embodiment only mushroom-shaped elements are present as surface-enhancing elements, without shorter elements with a pointed end being arranged between them. In this embodiment as well, it is particularly advantageous that an adhesive applied to the adhesion-promoting layer is held particularly well in the spaces between the mushroom-shaped elements by the mushroom shape of the surface-enhancing elements.

[0012] In a further preferred embodiment of the multilayer article according to the invention, the surface-enlarging elements arranged on the adhesion-promoting layer are a plurality of irregularly arranged plastic threads and / or fibers, for example a nonwoven fabric.

[0013] According to an advantageous embodiment, the multilayer article according to the invention is an adhesive packer for injecting injection material, e.g., sealing or filling material, into cracks, defects, or the like, particularly in structures or components. In this embodiment, the carrier layer is a carrier plate having at least one opening and connected on its side facing away from the adhesion-promoting layer to a connecting nozzle for injecting the injection material, wherein the connecting nozzle has a bore that opens into the opening in the carrier plate, and wherein the adhesion-promoting layer also has an opening that at least partially overlaps the opening in the carrier plate.Injection material, such as insulating or filler material, can be guided through the bore in the connection stub in this way and emerges at its end first through the opening in the carrier plate and then through the opening in the bonding layer. If the adhesive packer is positioned over a crack, the injection material can enter the crack after exiting the opening in the bonding layer.

[0014] Advantageously, the bonding layer has an elongated depression containing the opening, which at least partially overlaps the opening in the carrier plate. This allows injection material emerging from the opening in the bonding layer to collect in the elongated depression and thus penetrate the crack to be sealed over a larger area. The elongated depression also improves crack detection.

[0015] It has been found that applying an adhesive to the adhesion-promoting layer of the multilayer article according to the invention results in a significantly increased adhesive strength compared to conventional multilayer articles, due to the surface-enlarging elements arranged on the adhesion-promoting layer. For example, it is very difficult to securely attach adhesive packers with a smooth surface, e.g., made of PE, known from the prior art over a crack using an adhesive, i.e., glue, so that the packer remains adhered over the crack even during pressure injection, which is typically carried out at up to 10 bar. Adhesive packers made of metal, also known from the prior art, do not exhibit sufficient adhesion for pressure injection. In contrast, with the multi-layered article according to the invention in the form of an adhesive packer, such strong adhesion can be generated by the surface-enlarging elements on the adhesion-promoting layer that even with a cement-based adhesive an optimal hold can be achieved and the connection can even be broken down again with just a hammer or with the aid of another suitable tool.

[0016] Besides the embodiment as an adhesive packer, there are numerous other embodiments of the multilayer article according to the invention, since any elements can be firmly bonded to a substrate / surface with the multilayer article according to the invention. Exemplary embodiments are described below, particularly in connection with the description of the Figure 3 The embodiment shown is explained.

[0017] The invention further relates to a method for generating adhesion between a multilayer article according to the invention and a surface, wherein the method comprises the following steps: a) Providing a multi-layered article comprising a carrier layer and an adhesion-promoting layer bonded to the carrier layer, wherein on the side of the adhesion-promoting layer facing away from the carrier layer a plurality of surface-enhancing elements are arranged, selected from the group comprising or consisting of elements of alternating lengths, barbs, mushroom-shaped elements, a plurality of irregularly arranged plastic threads and / or fibers, and combinations thereof;b) Applying a preferably pasty adhesive to the side of the adhesion-promoting layer on which the surface-enlarging elements are arranged, or to a surface on which the multilayer article is to adhere, wherein it is preferred that the adhesive is applied to the surface on which the multilayer article is to adhere, and wherein the adhesive is preferably applied over the entire surface of the surface on which the multilayer article is to adhere;c) Contacting the multilayer article with the surface to which it is to adhere, wherein the multilayer article is positioned on or pressed against the surface with the side of the adhesion-promoting layer on which the surface-enlarging elements are located, wherein the adhesive is located on the surface to which the multilayer article is to adhere and between the surface-enlarging elements arranged on the adhesion-promoting layer; d) Curing of the adhesive.

[0018] The multilayer article provided and used in the inventive method has all the features disclosed above with respect to the multilayer article according to the invention, even in any combination. The preceding description of the multilayer article should therefore also be used to further characterize the multilayer article provided in the inventive method. In particular, the multilayer article provided and used in the inventive method can have the surface-enhancing elements already described above on the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer, in particular barbs, mushroom-shaped elements, irregularly arranged plastic threads and / or fibers, elements of alternating lengths, or combinations thereof.

[0019] In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, a multi-layered article is provided, the surface-enhancing elements of which are arranged on the adhesion-promoting layer are elements of alternating lengths, in which a shorter element is arranged between each pair of longer elements, wherein the shorter elements have a pointed shape at their ends facing away from the carrier layer and the longer elements have a shape deviating from a pointed shape at their ends facing away from the carrier layer.Due to this shape of the elements of alternating lengths, the adhesive penetrates into the spaces between the elements of alternating lengths upon contact with the multilayer article according to the invention, wherein the non-pointed ends of the longer elements, which preferably have a round head shape arranged on a truncated cone, giving the longer elements a mushroom shape overall, promote the retention of the adhesive in the spaces.

[0020] Preferably, in the method according to the invention, an adhesive packer is provided as a multilayer article, wherein the carrier layer of the multilayer article is, in this case, a carrier plate having at least one opening and being connected on its side facing away from the adhesion-promoting layer to a connecting nozzle for injecting injection material, wherein the connecting nozzle has a bore that opens into the opening in the carrier plate, and wherein the adhesion-promoting layer also has an opening that at least partially overlaps with the opening in the carrier plate. The adhesive packer is attached to a surface having a crack to be filled by means of an adhesive, which is preferably a paste-like adhesive. After the adhesive has cured, injection material is injected into the crack under pressure via the connecting nozzle.

[0021] Optionally, as the injection material exits the bore, it collects in the connecting stub and the associated perforations in the carrier plate and the adhesion-promoting layer, specifically in an elongated depression located within the adhesion-promoting layer. This allows the injection material exiting the perforation in the adhesion-promoting layer, after accumulating in the elongated depression, to penetrate the crack to be closed over a larger area.

[0022] After the injection material is introduced into the crack to be filled, the connection nozzle is immediately closed, or closes automatically if a valve is used. After sufficient setting time of the injection material, the adhesive packer is removed from the surface and the surface is preferably smoothed again, e.g., leveled.

[0023] The invention further relates to the use of a multi-layered article according to the invention as an adhesive packer for pressing injection material, e.g. sealing or filling material, into cracks, defects or the like, in particular in buildings or components. Detailed description of the invention

[0024] The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to exemplary embodiments and the figures, which are schematically illustrated. in the Figure 1 A first embodiment of a multi-layered article according to the invention is shown in perspective view (partial figure a) and in top view (partial figure b), in which Figure 2 A second embodiment of a multi-layered article according to the invention is shown in perspective view (partial figure a) and in top view (partial figure b), in which Figure 3 a preferred embodiment of elements of alternating lengths, and in the Figure 4show another preferred embodiment of elements of alternating lengths.

[0025] In the Figure 1 Figures a and b show a multi-layered article according to the invention. 1 According to a first embodiment, a schematic representation is shown in perspective view (partial figure a) and in top view (partial figure b). The multi-layered article according to the invention 1 In the illustrated embodiment, it is an adhesive packer which has a carrier layer 2 with a circular base and an adhesion-promoting layer connected to it 3 with a similarly circular base. On its adhesive layer 3 The opposite side is the carrier layer 2 with a connecting piece 7 connected. In the connecting piece 7 a borehole 8, which is in a breach 6 at the center of the circular support layer 2and in a breach 9 at the center of the detention-mediating layer 3 leads to the surface. On the carrier layer 2 opposite side of the detention-mediating layer 3 This exhibits a large number of surface-enlarging elements. 4 on, which can be, for example, a nonwoven fabric, i.e., a multitude of irregularly arranged fibers or threads, preferably made of plastic. When (less frequently) applying an adhesive to the adhesion-promoting layer. 3 with the surface-enlarging elements arranged on it 4 or, when the adhesive packer is (more frequently) placed on a surface coated with adhesive, the adhesive is distributed in the spaces between the surface-enlarging elements. 4. The adhesion of the adhesive packer to a surface, especially over a crack, is enhanced by the surface-enlarging elements. 4significantly increased compared to the adhesion of an adhesive packer without surface-enlarging elements 4 on the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer 3.

[0026] In the Figure 2 In partial figures a and b, a further adhesive packer is shown as a multi-layered article according to the invention. 1 The adhesive packer is shown schematically in perspective view (partial figure a) and in top view (partial figure b). This packer also has a backing layer (backing plate). 2 on, which has an adhesion-promoting layer 3 is connected, with the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer 3 numerous surface-enlarging elements 4 are arranged. The breach 9 in the detention mediation layer 3, the one with the breakthrough 6 in the carrier layer 2 and the borehole 8 in the connecting piece 7is connected and through which injection material such as adhesives is routed via the connection nozzle. 7 to the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer 3 In the illustrated embodiment, access is possible in a recess. 10 in the detention mediation layer 3 arranged in which the injection material, after exiting the opening, 9 in the detention mediation layer 3 can accumulate and, if the adhesive packer is positioned over a crack, can penetrate the crack to be closed via a larger penetration area.

[0027] In the Figure 3 is a preferred embodiment of the surface-enlarging elements 4 shown, which consist of elements of alternating lengths 5 It concerns the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer 3are arranged. As can be seen, longer elements, whose shape resembles truncated cones with caps on top or a mushroom shape, are arranged alternately with shorter conical elements. This embodiment is used on surface-enlarging elements. 4 has proven to be particularly advantageous, since the adhesive in contact with the adhesion-promoting layer, especially paste-like adhesive, is held in place by the mushroom-shaped heads of the longer elements of alternating lengths. 5 in the spaces between the elements of alternating lengths 5 The adhesive is held in place solely by the pressure exerted under the mushroom-shaped heads of the longer elements of alternating lengths. 5 pressed, so that the multi-layered article 1 with those on the detention-mediating layer 3 arranged elements of alternating lengths 5, the adhesive and the surface to which the multilayer article is attached1 The components are arranged so that, after the adhesive has hardened, they are inseparably bonded to each other without any mechanical action.

[0028] A particular advantage of this embodiment is that the adhesion between the multilayered article 1 and the surface without any further intervention, i.e., solely through the contact pressure. In the case of adhesive packers, this is the essential difference compared to conventional adhesive packers without surface-enlarging elements on the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer. 3,In these cases, achieving a certain adhesive strength requires the adhesive packer to be "shaken" into the adhesive. This can easily lead to the open connection to the crack being sealed by the adhesive, preventing the injection material, which is subsequently injected, from finding its way into the crack. This is the case when using an adhesive packer with the surface-enlarging elements shown here. 4 in the form of elements of alternating lengths 5 on the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer 3 excluded. A further advantage of this embodiment lies in the aforementioned extremely strong adhesive force, which prevents the adhesive packer from being detached from the surface on which it is attached without mechanical force.

[0029] The one in Figure 3 The illustrated embodiment of the surface-enlarging elements 4,which consists of elements of alternating lengths 5 It concerns the surface of the adhesion-promoting layer 3 However, the multilayer article according to the invention is not only suitable for use with adhesive packers, but is generally ideally suited to create a strong bond between any object and a substrate / surface. 1 to achieve this. For this purpose, the multi-layered article is used. 1 preferably first firmly bonded to the object to be bonded to the substrate / surface, with the bonding taking place on the side facing the adhesive layer. 3 with the elements of alternating lengths arranged on it 5 turned away. Then the multi-layered article, now bonded to the object, is... 1bonded to the desired substrate / surface by means of the multilayer article 1 with its elements of alternating lengths arranged on the adhesion-promoting layer 5 is pressed into an adhesive that is located on the substrate / surface. Alternatively to the latter step, but less preferred, the multi-layered article bonded to the object can be... 1 can also be bonded to the desired substrate / surface by applying adhesive to the side of the multilayer article 1 bonded to the object, on which the elements of alternating lengths are located. 5 The multi-layered article 1 is then pressed against the desired substrate / surface. The adhesive is distributed between the elements of alternating lengths. 5When the adhesive hardens, an extremely strong bond is formed between the object and the desired substrate / surface, which cannot be broken without strong mechanical action.

[0030] For example, facade detachments frequently occur in the current state of the art, such as with granite slabs glued to a concrete facade. In the current state of the art, the slabs are bonded using a pasty adhesive applied to the substrate and / or the slab itself. The granite slab is then glued under pressure, fixed in place, and, after the adhesive has cured, remains in place without further fixing. However, this method offers no way to check the bonding process, and one must blindly rely on the even distribution of the adhesive.

[0031] The present invention enables the production of elements with mushroom- and cone-shaped appearances of alternating lengths. 5 equipped layer of the multilayer article according to the invention 1(or alternatively, a layer with surface-enlarging elements) 4, in which the surface-enlarging elements 4 no elements of alternating lengths 5 (with mushroom or cone shape) are factory-applied and thus controlled on the granite slab, with the bonding at the mushroom- and cone-shaped elements of alternating lengths 5 opposite side or on the surface-enlarging elements 4 The process begins on the opposite side. Application to the concrete facade occurs later by evenly applying an adhesive to the concrete and pressing the granite slab, with the multi-layered article already bonded to it, into place. 1, where this is connected to the side of the mushroom- and cone-shaped elements of alternating lengths 5 or the page with the surface-enlarging elements 4The slab is pressed into the adhesive. After a short setting time, the slab is permanently bonded to the concrete substrate; removal without strong mechanical force is no longer possible.

[0032] Furthermore, a multilayer article 1 according to the invention, which schematically represents the Figure 3 The elements of alternating lengths shown (5) are surface-enlarging elements. 4These membranes are also used for flat roof waterproofing and for vertical surface waterproofing, e.g., on rising elements of flat roofs, for basement exterior waterproofing, or for tank waterproofing. Currently, plastic sealing membranes are frequently used for this purpose. According to current standards, these are either laid loosely and ballasted (in the case of flat roofs) or mechanically fastened by screwing or nailing, or bonded to the substrate with plastic adhesives. For this bonding, the underside of the sealing membranes, i.e., the side facing the building structure, is usually covered with a fleece or similar material. This is generally done at the factory during the production of the sealing membranes. Bonding is achieved with one- or multi-component plastic-based adhesives, e.g., polyurethane or epoxy resin-based, which achieve varying degrees of adhesion.

[0033] Within the scope of the present invention, the multilayer article 1 The mushroom- and cone-shaped adhesive layer is applied to the underside of the sealing membranes during factory production. The sealing membranes are then bonded to the multi-layered article placed on them. 1 The bonding process is then carried out in a highly controlled manner at the desired location and with significantly greater safety than bonding with fleece-backed sealing membranes. Furthermore, cement-based adhesives can be used for this bonding method, which are more economical and environmentally friendly than the one- or multi-component plastic adhesives used in state-of-the-art technology.

[0034] An alternative embodiment that offers the same advantages as the one in Figure 3 The embodiment shown and described above is in the Figure 4shown. In this embodiment, the surface-enlarging elements are also elements of alternating length; however, the diameter of both the mushroom-shaped elements and the shorter elements arranged between them is constant perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the respective elements over a large part of their length, and in the case of the mushroom-shaped elements, it only increases in the region of the end of the mushroom-shaped elements facing away from the adhesion-promoting layer (the mushroom head), and it only decreases to a point in the region of the end of the shorter elements arranged between the mushroom-shaped elements facing away from the adhesion-promoting layer.

[0035] The features of the invention disclosed in the foregoing description, in the claims and in the figures can be essential for the realization of the invention in its various embodiments, both individually and in any combination. Reference symbol list:
