Description

[0001] WORKPIECE CARRIER FRAME AND WORKPIECE CARRIER FRAME SYSTEM

[0002] The invention relates to a workpiece carrier frame and a workpiece carrier frame system with several workpiece carrier frames.

[0003] A workpiece carrier basket is used to provide and hold one or more workpieces so that the workpieces can be fed and processed at one or more production stations as part of their production process, and / or transported between production stations and / or stored between production steps. Production steps such as washing, mechanical processing, or thermal hardening can be performed at the production stations.

[0004] A conventional workpiece carrier basket comprises a frame and a support base. Workpiece holders are arranged on the support base, which hold and group workpieces in a desired position.

[0005] Changes in the manufacturing process can require the entire workpiece carrier basket to be replaced. This replacement involves time and expense.

[0006] DE 2 161 652 A shows a transport container whose cage consists of angled rails. The sides are closed by grid plates. In one embodiment, additional angled rails are clamped to the outside of the cage, into which the grid plates can be inserted.

[0007] DE 10 2007 048 541 A1 shows hand baskets used for shopping, which have an EAS tag mounted in a housing. Two bars of the wire basket run through the housing, both front and back. DE 80 18 781 U1 shows transport containers that are stackable despite their different sizes.

[0008] The task is to provide a material-saving and more flexible approach for a workpiece carrier basket.

[0009] The object is achieved by a workpiece carrier frame for a workpiece carrier basket having the features of claim 1 or claim 15. Furthermore, a workpiece carrier frame system with a plurality of workpiece carrier frames is provided.

[0010] The workpiece carrier frame is provided with a plurality of frame corner modules, each comprising an inner element and an outer element, and at least one module frame that laterally encloses the interior of the workpiece carrier frame. The frame corner modules are arranged in corner regions of the workpiece carrier frame, so that the inner element and the outer element of each frame corner module are arranged on the inside and outside of the at least one module frame, respectively, and the inner element and the outer element of the frame corner module are detachably connected to one another, and the at least one module frame extends between the inner element and the outer element.

[0011] The workpiece carrier frame forms the circumferential side edge of a modular workpiece carrier basket. The workpiece carrier frame is also modular and can be disassembled into its components after assembly.

[0012] The modular workpiece carrier frame comprises a plurality of frame corner modules and at least one module frame. These components are detachably assembled as a workpiece carrier frame, whereby the size of the workpiece carrier frame can be easily modified by replacing the module frame. A support base can be inserted into the workpiece carrier frame to form a workpiece carrier basket for holding workpieces. By replacing the support base, the workpiece carrier basket can be easily adapted to a changed production process.

[0013] The frame corner modules form the corner areas of the workpiece carrier frame and are connected by the module frame. The number of frame corner modules is at least three, ideally four. The module frame defines the size of the workpiece carrier frame, as it specifies the size and side circumference. The frame corner modules extend transversely to the frame. The side areas between the corner areas are formed by the at least one module frame, which runs through the frame corner modules in the corner areas. The module frame has a polygonal shape, advantageously a rectangular shape, so that the workpiece carrier frame also has a rectangular shape with four corner areas. The module frame can have a closed frame shape and be formed, for example, from a rectangularly bent metal rod, in particular a steel rod, whose ends are welded. The rod can have a round or polygonal cross-section.

[0014] The workpiece carrier frame is assembled by arranging an inner element and an outer element in the corners of at least one module frame, respectively inside and outside the module frame, joining them together so that the module frame runs between them, and detachably connecting them. "Inside" is the side facing the inside of the frame. "Outside" is the side facing away from the inside of the frame. The inner element forms an inner corner area of the workpiece carrier frame, and the outer element forms an outer corner of the workpiece carrier frame.

[0015] An alternative workpiece carrier frame comprises a plurality of side modules, each comprising an inner element and an outer element, and at least one module frame which laterally encloses an interior of the workpiece carrier frame, wherein the side modules are arranged in side regions of the workpiece carrier frame, such that the inner element and the outer element of each side module are arranged on the inside and outside of the at least one module frame, respectively, and the inner element and the outer element of the side module are detachably connected to one another, and the at least one module frame runs between the inner element and the outer element.

[0016] The side regions are straight regions of the at least one module frame between two adjacent corner regions. In the case of a rectangular module frame, for example, a side module can be provided on each of the long and wide sides of the at least one module frame. Advantageously, more side modules are provided on the long sides. The alternative workpiece carrier frame is assembled by arranging an inner element and an outer element on the inside and outside of the module frame on the side regions of the at least one module frame, respectively, joining them together so that the module frame runs between them, and detachably connecting them to one another. Side modules and frame corner modules can be summarized under the term "edge modules".

[0017] The workpiece carrier frames share the idea that they are constructed from at least one module frame and edge modules of at least one type, be it corner modules or side modules, to form a stable and advantageously stackable workpiece carrier frame. In one workpiece carrier frame, edge modules are provided at least as corner modules in the corner areas. In the other workpiece carrier frame, edge modules are provided at least as side modules in the side areas. Of course, there are also versions that include both corner modules and side modules.

[0018] Advantageously, two module frames are provided in the workpiece carrier frame in order to form a stable workpiece carrier frame with less material expenditure. A first module frame and a second module frame are arranged one above the other. The inner elements and the outer elements each have an upper and a lower region, with the first module frame extending between the upper regions of the inner elements and the outer elements, and the second module frame extending between the lower regions of the inner elements and the outer elements.

[0019] In one embodiment of the workpiece carrier frame with frame corner modules, at least one side module is provided, which comprises an inner element and an outer element. The side module is arranged in a side region that extends between two adjacent corner regions, so that the at least one module frame runs between the inner element and the outer element of the side module. Two side modules are advantageously provided on the long sides of the rectangular workpiece carrier frame. Nevertheless, the provision of side modules is optional in the workpiece carrier frame with frame corner modules. They improve the stability of the workpiece carrier frame and, in particular, facilitate the stacking of the workpiece carrier frames. The side module, like the frame corner modules, can be made of plastic. The inner elements and the outer elements are advantageously one-piece plastic parts. The design of the inner and outer elements of the side modules differs from the design of the inner and outer elements of the frame corner modules. Alternatively, one or more frame corner modules can be optionally provided in a version of the workpiece carrier frame with side modules.

[0020] The frame corner modules and / or the side modules have a continuous recess for the module frame, formed by facing trenches in the inner element and the outer element. In the assembled inner element and outer element, the trenches form the recess in which the module frame runs. A trench with a semicircular cross-section in the outer element and a trench with a semicircular cross-section in the inner element can thus form a recess with a circular cross-section.

[0021] The inner element and the outer element can be connected in a simple manner using detachable connecting means, in particular screwable connecting means, for example screws and nuts.

[0022] In one design, the frame corner modules and / or the side modules each have a support so that, in the assembled workpiece carrier frame, a support shelf can be placed on the supports. In the assembled workpiece carrier frame, the supports extend into the interior of the frame. With a support shelf whose size corresponds to the frame interior, supports on the frame corner modules are sufficient to hold the support shelf. With several support shelves arranged next to each other, supports on the side modules are also required to hold the support shelves. In a workpiece carrier frame that only has side modules, these support the support shelf.

[0023] The workpiece carrier frame is advantageously stackable, so that workpiece carrier baskets comprising workpiece carrier frames can also be stacked by placing their workpiece carrier frames on top of one another and securing them against lateral sliding. The workpiece carrier frame has a first stacking edge, formed by the top sides of the frame corner modules and / or the side modules, and a second stacking edge, formed by the bottom sides of the frame corner modules and / or the side modules. The first and second stacking edges correspond, so that when the workpiece carrier frames are stacked they interlock and prevent lateral sliding. However, not only workpiece carrier frames of the same size are stackable, but also workpiece carrier frames of different sizes, where small workpiece carrier frames can be stacked next to one another on top of a large workpiece carrier frame. For example, two small workpiece carrier frames can be stacked side by side on a workpiece carrier frame twice as large. The tops of the side modules of the large workpiece carrier frame support the bottom sides of the corner modules of the stacked small workpiece carrier frames.

[0024] In one embodiment, the outer element and the inner element of the frame corner module are arranged offset from one another such that a region of the outer element, which protrudes above the inner element on the top side, forms a raised edge region of the first stacking edge, and a region of the inner element, which protrudes below the outer element, forms a floor engagement portion of the second stacking edge. The floor engagement portion of a stacked frame corner module engages next to the raised edge region of another frame corner module during stacking and is supported by its inner element.

[0025] In one embodiment, the outer element and the inner element of the side module are arranged offset from one another such that a region of the outer element that protrudes above the inner element forms a raised edge region of the first stacking edge. The bottom engagement of a frame corner module of a smaller workpiece frame engages next to the raised edge region of the side element of the larger workpiece carrier frame during stacking and is supported by the inner element of the side element. When stacking workpiece carrier frames of the same size, the bottom engagement of a side module engages next to the raised edge region and is supported by the inner element of another side element.

[0026] A workpiece carrier frame system comprises a plurality of workpiece carrier frames. First workpiece carrier frames have a module frame with a first size. Second workpiece carrier frames have a module frame with a second size. At least two of the first workpiece carrier frames can be stacked side by side on one of the second workpiece carrier frames. Workpiece carrier baskets with such module frames of different sizes can be stacked in the same way. The workpiece carrier frame system can comprise further workpiece carrier frames with a module frame of a further size, so that workpiece carrier baskets of different sizes can be combined and stacked.

[0027] Below, some examples are explained in more detail using the drawings. They show:

[0028] Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a workpiece carrier frame,

[0029] Figure 2 shows a section through the workpiece carrier frame,

[0030] Figure 3 shows an embodiment of a workpiece carrier basket,

[0031] Figure 4 shows an embodiment with several workpiece carrier baskets,

[0032] Figure 5 shows a further embodiment with several workpiece carrier baskets, Figures 6A, 6B, 6C show an embodiment of a frame corner module and

[0033] Figures 7A, 7B, 7C show an embodiment of a side module.

[0034] In the figures, identical or functionally equivalent components are provided with the same reference numerals.

[0035] Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a workpiece carrier frame 1 in a three-dimensional representation. Such a workpiece carrier frame 1 forms the circumferential lateral edge of a workpiece carrier basket 15.

[0036] The modular workpiece carrier frame 1 comprises four frame corner modules 3 and a first and a second module frame 5, which are arranged one above the other. The workpiece carrier frame 1 is rectangular and has four corner regions. The frame corner modules 3 are arranged in the corner regions of the workpiece carrier frame 1 and extend transversely to the planes in which the module frames 5 are arranged. The module frames 5 run through the frame corner modules 3. The workpiece carrier frame 1 also has four side regions that extend between adjacent corner regions. Two side regions are opposite long side regions, and two side regions are opposite wide side regions that are shorter than the long side regions. In this exemplary embodiment, the length ratio of long sides to wide sides is 3:2.

[0037] Straight sections of the module frames 5 extend in the side areas. A side module 7 is provided in each of the long side areas, through which the module frames 5 extend. A sign 9 is provided on at least one of the side areas, through which at least one of the module frames 5 extends. Information about the owner of the workpiece carrier basket 15, its contents, or planned production steps, for example, can be provided on the sign 9.

[0038] Both the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7 are provided with a support 11 projecting into the frame interior, onto which a support base 17 (not shown in Figure 1) with workpiece carriers 21 can be placed. By replacing the support base 17 in the workpiece carrier frame 1, a workpiece carrier basket 15 formed from the support base 17 and the workpiece carrier frame 1 can be easily modified.

[0039] The workpiece carrier frame 1 is stackable, so that a stack of several workpiece carrier baskets 15 is formed by placing their workpiece carrier frames 1 on top of one another. The stacked workpiece carrier baskets 1 are secured against sliding sideways by stacking edges. A first stacking edge is formed by the top sides of the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7, and a second stacking edge is formed by the bottom sides of the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7. The stacking edges interlock so that the second stacking edge is supported from below by the first stacking edge and is encircled by it on the outside.

[0040] The top sides have an outwardly projecting edge region 13 as the first stacking edge. The bottom sides have a second stacking edge, which is formed by a downwardly projecting region as a bottom engagement 33. When the workpiece carrier frames 1 are stacked, the bottom engagement 33 engages the inside of the edge region 13. Thus, the top sides and the bottom sides of the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7 form corresponding, circumferential stacking edges, which, however, are not continuous. Figure 2 shows the workpiece carrier frame 1 in a three-dimensional sectional view, with the section running through the upper module frame 5.

[0041] The module frames 5 are designed as closed metal frames. Advantageously, the module frames 5 are formed in one piece. In one embodiment, the module frames 5 are made of steel and have a diameter of 8 mm with a round cross-section. The module frames 5 can each be formed from a rectangularly bent steel rod whose ends are welded together. In an alternative embodiment, the module frame 5 has a gap. In a further embodiment, the module frame 5 is formed from four interconnected, in particular welded, rods. Such rods can have a rectangular, in particular square, cross-section. The module frames 5 make the workpiece carrier frame 1 very stable.

[0042] Figure 2 shows that both the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7 each comprise an inner element 29 and an outer element 31 that are connected to one another. The inner element 29 and the outer element 31 are arranged on the inside and outside of the module frames 5, respectively, so that the module frames 5 extend between the inner element 29 and the outer element 31. The assembled inner elements 29 and outer elements 31 are detachably connected to one another by connecting means 41, in particular screwable connecting means.

[0043] By using module frames 5 of different sizes, workpiece carrier frames 1 of different sizes can be formed from the same frame corner modules 3 and side modules 7.

[0044] The storage space for the individual components from which workpiece carrier frames 1 can be assembled is smaller than the storage space for assembled workpiece carrier frames 1. Workpiece carrier frames 1 that are no longer required can therefore be stored in a more space-saving manner when disassembled.

[0045] Figure 3 shows the workpiece carrier frame 1 from Figure 1 in a workpiece carrier basket 15. In the workpiece carrier frame 1, carrier floors 17 are inserted, on which workpiece carriers 21 with workpieces 19 are arranged.

[0046] The workpiece holders 21 are arranged in a grid pattern on the support shelves 17. Several support shelves 17 with workpiece holders 21 and workpieces 19 can be stacked on top of one another and inserted into the workpiece carrier frame 1. In this exemplary embodiment, two support shelves 17 with workpiece carriers 21 and workpieces 19 are stacked on top of one another in the workpiece carrier basket 15. The lower workpiece carrier shelf 17 rests on the supports 11 of the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7. The vertically projecting frame corner modules 3 and side modules 7 support the stacked support shelves 17 and prevent them from sliding sideways without being firmly connected to them. In an alternative exemplary embodiment, the lower support shelf 17 is firmly but detachably connected to the workpiece carrier frame 1.

[0047] The top of the workpiece carrier basket 15 can be covered with a cover 23, which can be placed on the workpiece carrier frame 1 so that it engages between the edge regions 13 of the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7. Alternatively, the cover 23 can be placed on the upright workpiece carriers 21 or on upright handles of the upper carrier base 17 and rests on them.

[0048] Furthermore, a base 25 is provided on which the workpiece carrier basket 15 can be positioned, so that an underside of the workpiece carrier basket 15 is also accessible. The base 25 can, for example, accommodate the workpiece carrier basket 15 in a production station and specify the position where the workpiece carrier basket 15 is to be placed in the production station. Such a base 25 is used, for example, in a cleaning system so that the cleaning fluid can drain downwards from the workpiece carrier basket 15.

[0049] The top side of the base 25 has a circumferential stacking edge 27 into which the bottom sides of the frame corner modules 3 and the side modules 7 engage in a form-fitting manner, so that the workpiece carrier basket 15 is secured against sliding sideways.

[0050] Figure 4 shows an embodiment of fifteen workpiece carrier baskets 15, as described in connection with Figure 3, which are stacked into five stacks of three workpiece carrier baskets 15 each. The workpiece carrier baskets 15 are of the same size and each comprise a workpiece carrier frame 1 and support shelves 17 with workpiece carriers 21 and workpieces 19. The contents of the workpiece carrier baskets 15 can differ with regard to the number of support shelves 17 as well as the type of workpieces 19 and the workpiece holders 21. Lids 23 are placed on the upper workpiece carrier baskets 15 of the stacks.

[0051] The long sides and wide sides of the workpiece carrier baskets 15 have a ratio of 3:2, so that three stacks stacked next to each other along their long sides and two stacks arranged with their long sides on the wide sides of the other stacks can be arranged on a rectangular area, as shown in Figure 3. The workpiece carrier baskets 15 can thus be arranged compactly and space-savingly on a base 25 designed as a pallet, so that they can be transported together on the pallet. It is also possible to stack workpiece carrier baskets 15 of different sizes on top of each other. For example, first workpiece carrier baskets 15 and second workpiece carrier baskets 15, which are twice as large, can be stacked by arranging two first workpiece carrier baskets 15 next to each other, stacked on a second workpiece carrier basket 15.The long sides of the first workpiece carrier baskets 15 run parallel to the wide sides of the second workpiece carrier basket 15. The floor recesses 33 on the frame corner modules of the first workpiece carrier baskets 15 rest on the upper sides of the frame corner modules and the side modules 7 of the first workpiece carrier basket 15.

[0052] Figure 5 shows an embodiment with several workpiece carrier frames 1, some of which are firmly connected to one another.

[0053] A workpiece carrier frame arrangement 43 comprises, for example, eight workpiece carrier frames 1 that are connected to one another. The workpiece carrier frames 1 are arranged in two rows of four workpiece carrier frames 1 each, the long sides of which are adjacent. The adjacent frame corner modules 3 of two adjacent workpiece carrier frames 1 are firmly but detachably connected to one another, for example by suitable connecting means. The adjacent side modules 7 of two adjacent workpiece carrier frames 1 are also firmly but detachably connected to one another. In this way, two frame corner modules 3 are connected to one another on the outer sides of the workpiece carrier frame arrangement 43. Inside the workpiece carrier frame arrangement 43, four frame corner modules 3 are connected to one another such that their outer edges face one another. The connecting elements 5 inside the workpiece carrier frame arrangement 43 are arranged in a grid-like manner by the interconnected workpiece carrier frames 1.In the grid-shaped workpiece carrier frame arrangement 43, support shelves 17 with workpiece carrier holders 21 and workpieces 19 can be used both side by side and stacked one above the other. Stacked workpiece carrier frame arrangements 43 allow a large number of workpieces 19 to be simultaneously transported and processed in the production stations more easily than with individual workpiece carrier baskets 1.

[0054] Figures 6A, 6B and 6C show an embodiment of a frame corner module 3 in a side view, a front view and a top view, respectively.

[0055] The frame corner module 3 has an angular basic shape, with its legs meeting at right angles. The frame corner module 3 comprises an inner element 29 and an outer element 31, which are formed as separate, one-piece injection-molded plastic parts. The inner element 29 and the outer element 31 each have an angular basic shape. On one bottom side of the inner element 29, a support 11 for a support base 17 protrudes inward at right angles to the legs.

[0056] The outer element 31 and the inner element 29 are assembled and detachably connected to one another so that they are arranged axially offset from one another. A region of the outer element 31 projects beyond the inner element 29 on the upper side and forms an upper edge region 13 of a first stacking edge. A region of the inner element 29, which projects beyond the outer element 31 on the underside, forms a base engagement portion 33 with an inwardly projecting support 11 as the second stacking edge. The base engagement portion 33 and the edge region 13 of a further frame corner module 3 engage with one another as corresponding first and second stacking edges so that the base engagement portion 33 is secured against outward movement. So that the edge region 13 and the base engagement portion 33 have sufficient play when stacking workpiece carrier baskets 15, the region of the outer element 31 that projects beyond the inner element 29 on the upper side is slightly set back outwards.

[0057] The superimposed side walls of the inner element 29 and the outer element 31 have protruding webs 35 and corresponding grooves 37, respectively, which align the inner element 29 and the outer element 31 during assembly, so that the floor engagement portion 33 and the frame region 13 engage positively with the frame region 13 and the floor engagement portion 33 of another frame corner module 3. Alternative coding means for specifying the alignment with a predetermined offset during assembly of the inner element 29 and the outer element 31 are conceivable.

[0058] In each leg of the frame corner module 3, two recesses 39 with a circular cross-section are provided for accommodating the module frames 5. The recess 39 runs parallel between the inside and outside of the leg and is formed by semicircular grooves in the inner element 29 and the outer element 31. When the inner element 29 and outer element 31 are assembled, the grooves form the circular recess 39. The shape and diameter of the recess 39 correspond to the shape and diameter of the module frame 5.

[0059] The inner element 29 and the outer element 31 are detachably connected to one another, for example by connecting means 41, in particular screwable connecting means. The inner element 29 and the outer element 31 have continuous recesses with countersunk holes, so that they can be connected to one another by a countersunk screw-screw nut connection. Alternatively, a screw-cap nut connection can be provided, for example. The recesses for the connecting means 41 can be used to connect only the inner element 29 and the outer element 31 of the same frame corner module 3. Alternatively, they can also be used to connect several frame corner modules 41 of a workpiece carrier frame arrangement 43.

[0060] Figures 7A, 7B and 7C show an embodiment of a side module 7 in a side view, a front view and a top view, respectively.

[0061] The side module 7 has a rectangular basic shape, the inside and outside of which are widened at the top. The side module 7 comprises an inner element 29 and an outer element 31, which face towards the interior of the frame and away from it, respectively, in the workpiece carrier frame 1. The inner element 29 and the outer element 31 are designed as separate, one-piece injection-molded parts made of plastic. The outer element 31 is flat. The inner element 29 has a support 11 for the carrier base 17, which extends at right angles into the interior of the frame, so that it is L-shaped in side view. The outer element 31 and the inner element 29 are detachably connected to one another. They are arranged offset from one another, so that a region of the outer element 31 projects above the inner element 29 on the top and forms an upper edge region 13 of the first stack edge. A region of the inner element 29 projects on the underside as a floor engagement 33 over the outer element 31 and extends as a support 11 into the frame interior. The base recess 33 and the upper edge region 13 of another side module 7 engage with each other as first and second stacking edges, so that the base recess 33 is secured against outward movement. To ensure that the edge region 13 and the protruding base recess 33 have sufficient play, the area of the outer element 31 projecting above the inner element 29 is slightly recessed outwards. Instead of the base recess 33 of a side module 7, the base recess 33 of a frame corner module 3 can rest on the upper side of the side module 7. This occurs, for example, when smaller workpiece carrier baskets 15 are stacked next to each other on a larger workpiece carrier basket 15.

[0062] The superimposed side walls of the inner element 29 and the outer element 31 have protruding webs 35 and corresponding grooves 37, which, when assembled, align the inner element 29 and the outer element 31 in an offset manner, so that the floor engagement portion 33 and the frame region 13 engage positively in the frame region 13 and the floor engagement portion 33 of a further side module 7.

[0063] In the side module 7, there are two straight, continuous circular recesses 39 that run parallel between the inside and outside. The recess 39 is formed by semicircular grooves in the inner element 29 and the outer element 31, so that when the inner element 29 and outer element 31 are assembled, the grooves form the recess 39 with a circular cross-section. Their shape and diameter correspond to the shape and diameter of the module frame 5.

[0064] The inner element 29 and the outer element 31 are detachably connected to one another, for example by connecting means 41, in particular screwable connecting means, which run in recesses with countersinks passing through the inner element 29 and the outer element 31.

[0065] When assembling a workpiece carrier frame 1, the inner elements 29 and outer elements 31 of the frame corner modules 3 are arranged inside and outside at the corners of the module frames 5 and connected to one another by the connecting means 41. Optionally, the side modules 7 can be attached to the module frames 5 by assembling their inner elements 29 and outer elements 31. The features specified above and in the claims, as well as those shown in the figures, can be advantageously implemented both individually and in various combinations. The invention is not limited to the described embodiments, but can be modified in many ways within the scope of expert knowledge.
