Description

[0001] This specification relates to a road paver and a method for operating a road paver.

[0002] Road pavers are designed to produce a paving layer from a paving material such as asphalt and usually comprise a chassis and working units arranged on the chassis, such as a material hopper, a paving screed, a longitudinal conveyor device and a transverse distributor arrangement.

[0003] A fixed deflector plate is usually arranged below the rear end of the longitudinal conveyor device. During paving, material can build up in the direction of travel of the road paver when the material is transferred from the longitudinal conveyor device to the cross distributor arrangement. This material builds up in front of the cross distributor arrangement and can lead to segregation of the paving material and soiling of the undercarriage. The fixed deflector plates known from the state of the art can only prevent this to a limited extent. Since sufficient ground clearance below the deflector plate and a sufficiently large approach angle for driving onto the transport truck must be guaranteed, the deflector plate cannot be arranged at any desired depth vertically. If the deflector plate is not arranged high enough, driving onto a transport truck can be impaired or even prevented.Damage to the deflector plate may occur when driving onto the loading ramp of the transport truck.

[0004] The object of the present invention is to reduce the segregation of the paving material upstream of the transverse distributor assembly and to reduce contamination of the undercarriage by paving material. This object is achieved by a road paver according to claim 1 or a method for operating a road paver according to claim 13.

In alternative embodiments, the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 can be moved vertically independently of the cross-distribution assembly 9. The upper side 28 of the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 is arranged at an angle to the vertical 300 so that the paving material is directed to the cross-distribution assembly 9.

[0060] The deflector plate assembly 24 further comprises a comb-like plate 29. The comb- or grid-shaped plate 29 is arranged between the longitudinal conveyor device 5 and the height-adjustable deflector plate 26. The comb-shaped plate is preferably made of spring steel in order to be able to deflect without being damaged upon contact with the conveyor chain of the longitudinal conveyor.

[0061] The deflector plate arrangement 24, in particular the height-adjustable deflector plate 26, reduces the entry of paving material 6 under the longitudinal conveyor device 5. The deflector plate arrangement 24, in particular the height-adjustable deflector plate 26, reduces the entry of paving material 6 from the transverse distributor arrangement 9 in the paving direction of travel 100. The deflector plate arrangement, in particular the height-adjustable deflector plate 26, can reduce the entrainment of paving material 6 by the scraper bars of the slack side 30 of the scraper belt 12 in the paving direction of travel 100. This can be further reduced by the comb- or grid-shaped plate 29. The undercarriage 31 of the road paver 1 is arranged to each side of the longitudinal conveyor device 5. The deflector plate arrangement 24, in particular the height-adjustable deflector plate 26, reduces the entry of paving material 6 into or under the undercarriage 31.

[0062] The Figs. 5 and 6 show perspective views of the Fig. 4 shown longitudinal conveyor device 5 and deflector plate arrangement 24. The transverse distributor arrangement 9 is shown in the Figs. 5 and 6 not shown.

[0063] The Figs. 5 and 6 The deflector plate arrangement 24 shown additionally comprises a second deflector plate 32. The second deflector plate 32 is in the Fig. 4 As shown in the illustration, it is obscured by other components of the road paver 1. The second deflector plate 32 is stationary and connected to the chassis 8 of the road paver 1 or the longitudinal conveyor device 5. The second deflector plate 32 is therefore not vertically adjustable. The second deflector plate 32 can also be omitted, since the height-adjustable deflector plate 24 largely or entirely takes over the function of the second deflector plate 32.

[0064] Fig. 5 shows the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 in a raised position. Fig. 6shows the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 in a lowered position. The comb- or grid-shaped plate 29 is connected to the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 and can be moved in height together with the height-adjustable deflector plate 26.

[0065] The Figs. 7 and 8 show side views of the Figs. 5 and 6 shown longitudinal conveyor device 5 and deflector plate arrangement 24. Fig. 7shows the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 and the comb- or grid-shaped plate 29 in a raised position. When the road paver 1 drives onto a transport truck via a loading ramp, a certain ground clearance or a ramp angle 40° below the deflector plate assembly 24 must be ensured. Otherwise, the deflector plate assembly 24 could come into contact with the ground 3 when driving onto the loading ramp, which could damage the deflector plate assembly 24. By moving the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 into the raised position, a sufficiently large ramp angle 40° is enabled.

[0066] Fig. 8shows the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 and the comb- or grid-shaped plate 29 in a lowered position. During the paving of the paving material 6, it can be advantageous to limit the vertical distance, also referred to as height in the present application, between the deflector plate arrangement 24 and the subsoil 3. By means of a small vertical distance 310 between the deflector plate arrangement 24 and the subsoil 3, the introduction of paving material 6 under the longitudinal conveyor device 5 and / or the undercarriage 31 can be reduced. In the lowered position, the height-adjustable deflector plate 26 is arranged at a first vertical distance 310 from the subsoil 3. The fixed, second deflector plate 32 is arranged at a second vertical distance 320 from the subsoil 3. Only road pavers 1 with the fixed deflector plate 32 are known from the prior art.Due to the height difference 330 between the first vertical distance 310 and the second vertical distance 320, which is realized by the height-adjustable deflector plate 26, the entry of paving material 6 under the longitudinal conveyor device 5 and the chassis 31 can be reduced.
