[0002] The invention relates to an alignment station for aligning a stack of value documents, a device for aligning a stack of value documents comprising the alignment station and a method for aligning a stack of value documents.
[0003] The stack of valuable documents to be aligned is removed from an output compartment of a valuable document processing device by a feed gripper after the device has checked the valuable documents in the respective stack. The feed gripper then places this valuable document stack into an alignment station so that the valuable document edges can be aligned with each other. The alignment of the valuable document edges is performed to improve the stack quality for further processing, e.g., during subsequent banding or during subsequent placement in a valuable document container, from which the valuable document stack is automatically removed and separated again if necessary.

A device (1) for aligning a stack of valuable documents (14), comprising: - an alignment station (2) according to one of the preceding claims, - a feed gripper (17, 19) which is arranged to feed the stack of value documents (14) to be aligned to the alignment station (2), - a removal gripper (17, 19) which is arranged to remove the aligned stack of valuable documents (14) from the alignment station (2), - at least one control device (25) which is designed to control the feed gripper and the removal gripper such that the feed gripper feeds the value document stack (14) to be aligned to the alignment station (2) and the removal gripper (17, 19) removes the aligned value document stack (14) from the alignment station (2) after its alignment in the alignment station, wherein the feed gripper (17, 19) and the removal gripper (17, 19) are designed in particular to grip the same value document stack (14) via different edges (15, 16) of the value documents (21) which are perpendicular to one another.
