Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Applicator for cosmetic product, in particular mascara and associated applicator assembly Technical field of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to an applicator for a cosmetic product, in particular mascara, and an associated applicator assembly. Technical background
[0002] A mascara applicator is a beauty accessory that allows the eyelashes to be volumized after application of the cosmetic product. The applicator generally comprises a core and a plurality of protrusions extending from the core.
[0003] Various designs of the core and / or protrusions and various arrangements of the protrusions around the core have been proposed in the prior art in recent years. While these designs and arrangements of the protrusions make it possible to improve the volume effect provided to the eyelashes, they do not always lead to perfectly flowing eyelashes.
[0004] "Fleeting" means that the eyelashes are curved upwards or downwards depending on whether they are the upper or lower eyelashes, and curved to the left and to the right on either side of a median line of the eyelid.
[0005] Generally speaking, when a vanishing effect is obtained using the prior art applicator, it is at the cost of repetitive gestures performed by the user.
[0006] Therefore, there is a need to develop an applicator which is capable of forming trailing eyelashes, without requiring considerable effort or repetition of gestures on the part of the user. Summary of the invention
[0007] The invention relates to an applicator for a cosmetic product comprising a core extending in a longitudinal direction of extension and a plurality of protrusions each extending projecting from the core from a base connected to the core towards a free opposite end in a direction of elongation. [0022] - [Fig.8] is a front view of the applicator of [Fig.2]. Detailed description of the invention
[0023] In the following description, the longitudinal direction X corresponds to that of the maximum extension of the applicator.
[0024] The vertical direction Z is defined from bottom to top when the applicator is arranged parallel to the ground.
[0025] The transverse direction Y is orthogonal to both the longitudinal direction X and the vertical direction Z.
[0026] The invention relates to an applicator 10 for a cosmetic product, in particular for mascara.
[0027] As illustrated in Figures 1 to 8, the applicator 10 comprises a core 2 which extends along a longitudinal extension direction X of the applicator 10. The applicator 10 also comprises a plurality of protrusions 4 which project from the core 2 to form an envelope E of the applicator 10.
[0028] In particular, the core 2 comprises a proximal end 21 and an opposite distal end 23. The proximal end 21 and the distal end 23 define the longitudinal extension direction X of the applicator 10. The proximal end 21 of the core 2 is provided with a sleeve 8 configured to be fixed to a rod 60 of an applicator assembly 100.
[0029] Furthermore, as better illustrated in Figures 2 and 3, the core 2 has a first plane of symmetry formed by a median transverse vertical plane PI of the applicator 10 and a second plane of symmetry formed by a median longitudinal vertical plane P2 of the applicator 10.
[0030] Finally, the core 2 has a first longitudinal face 22 and a second longitudinal face 24 opposite the first longitudinal face 22. Between the first longitudinal face 22 and the second longitudinal face 24 extends a third face, called the peripheral face 26.
[0031] Along the longitudinal extension direction X of the applicator 10, the first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2 has a concave profile. The second longitudinal face 24 has a convex profile.
[0032] With reference to [Fig.4], the first longitudinal face 22 and the second longitudinal face 24 define between them a height H1 of the core 2. The peripheral face 26 defines a diameter D of the core 2. Here the diameter D is greater than the height H1, thus giving the core 2 a generally flattened shape.
[0033] The first longitudinal face 22 and the second longitudinal face 24 of the core 2 carry the protuberances 4. The peripheral face 26 is devoid of protuberances 4.
[0034] The first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2 has a concave profile in a transverse vertical plane of the applicator 10. The concave profile of the first longitudinal face 22 allows storage of cosmetic product. The protrusions 4 located on the first longitudinal face 22 thus make it possible to better load the product onto the applicator 10 and to restore this product to the eyelashes.
[0035] With reference to [Fig. 4], the second longitudinal face 24 of the core 2 has a corrugation in a transverse vertical plane. Here, the transverse vertical plane corresponds to the median plane PL. In particular, the corrugation here comprises a crest 24A and hollows 24B, 24C extending on either side of the crest 24A. The protrusions 4 located on the second longitudinal face 24 of the core 2 facilitate the combing of the eyelashes.
[0036] Still with reference to [Fig.4], the protrusions 4 located on the first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2 have a height H2 less than a height H3 of the protrusions 4 located on the second longitudinal face 24.
[0037] Due to their relatively low height H2, the protrusions 4 located on the first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2 are more rigid. Thus, these protrusions 4 make it possible to separate the eyelashes.
[0038] Due to their relatively large height H3, the protrusions 4 located on the second longitudinal face 24 of the core 2 are more flexible. Thus, these protrusions make it possible to lengthen the eyelashes.
[0039] The applicator 10 thus advantageously comprises two faces 22, 24 each having a specific function, in particular a face 22 for storing cosmetic product for loading the eyelashes with mascara and a face 24 for combing the eyelashes. The user can thus easily choose which face to use depending on the desired effect. For example, initially, the user can use the first longitudinal face 22 to load the eyelashes with mascara, then in a second step use the second longitudinal face 24 to comb and / or lengthen the eyelashes.
[0040] Referring again to [Fig. 4], each protuberance 4 has a base 4a connected to the core 2 as well as an opposite free end 4b. The base 4a and the free end 4b of each protuberance 4 define a direction of elongation of said protuberance 4. The free ends 4b of the protuberances 4 define the envelope E of the applicator 10. Certain free ends 4b of the protuberances 4 have a rounded head which makes it possible to better load the applicator 10 with product, to hook the eyelashes and to restore the product to them.
[0041] Furthermore, each protuberance 4 is in the form of a half truncated cone having a substantially flat inner face and an opposite rounded outer face. The flat inner face of each protuberance 4 makes it possible to better load the applicator with product.
[0042] By "internal face", we mean a face which is arranged opposite the median longitudinal vertical plane P2 of the core 2. By "external face", we mean a face which is opposite the median longitudinal vertical plane P2 of the core 2.
[0043] As illustrated in [Fig.4], the internal face of each protuberance 4 passes through a longitudinal plane RI - RIO. Said longitudinal plane RI - RIO forms with the median longitudinal vertical plane P2 an angle [3j - [3s which is zero or acute. In other words, the longitudinal plane RI - RIO passing through the internal face of each protuberance 4 is parallel or inclined relative to the median longitudinal vertical plane P2.
[0044] With reference to the illustrated figures, the protrusions 4 are arranged on the core 2 according to at least one longitudinal row 6. In the at least one longitudinal row 6, the internal faces of the protuberances 4 are aligned, that is to say arranged in the same plane corresponding to one of the longitudinal planes RI - RIO defined previously.
[0045] In the following, the longitudinal planes RI - RIO of the internal faces of the protuberances 4 will also be associated with the respective longitudinal rows 6 of these protuberances 4.
[0046] With reference to [Fig.6], the first longitudinal face 22 comprises 4 longitudinal rows 6A - 6D. Associated with these longitudinal rows 6A - 6D are the longitudinal planes RI - R4 illustrated in [Fig.4].
[0047] With reference to [Fig.7], the second longitudinal face 24 comprises 6 longitudinal rows 6E - 6J. Associated with these longitudinal rows 6A - 6J are the longitudinal planes R5 - RIO illustrated in [Fig.4].
[0048] According to the invention as illustrated in [Fig.5], the direction of elongation of at least two protuberances 4 of the at least one longitudinal row 6, called curved protuberances, has in the longitudinal plane RI - RIO associated with said at least one longitudinal row 6 at least one first curvature Clj - Clw and at least one first inclination aj - aw. The at least one first curvature Clj - Clw and / or the at least one first inclination aj - aw of the curved protuberances are different from one curved protuberance to another along the at least one longitudinal row 6.
[0049] The longitudinal plane RI - RIO associated with the at least one longitudinal row 6 corresponds here to the median longitudinal plane P2 of the applicator 10.
[0050] As illustrated in [Fig.5], the first curvature Clj - Clw of each curved protuberance 4 is turned towards the median transverse vertical plane PI of the applicator 10. The first curvature Clj - Clw varies here in an increasing manner from one curved protuberance to another, from a protuberance 41a, 42a located close to the median transverse vertical plane PI to a protuberance 41b, 42b far from the median transverse vertical plane PL. Only the first curvatures Clj, Clk, Cil are illustrated here.
[0051] Furthermore, the first inclination ai - aw of each curved protuberance is defined from a tangent line T passing through the base 4a of said curved protuberance 4, as well as from a line Q parallel to the median transverse vertical plane PI and also passing through said base 4a. Here, only the first inclinations at, au, av, aw as well as the lines Q and the associated lines T are represented.
[0052] Furthermore, the first inclination a varies here in an increasing manner from one curved protuberance to another on the same longitudinal row 6, from one of the protuberances 41a, 41b adjacent to the median transverse vertical plane PI towards one protrusions 42a, 42b distant from the median transverse vertical plane PI.
[0053] Due in particular to the at least one first inclination ai - aw, the base 4a and the free end 4b of each curved protuberance 4 are axially offset.
[0054] From the above, the at least one longitudinal row 6 comprises on either side of the median transverse vertical plane PI two series 61, 62 of curved protuberances 4. In each series 61, 62, the first curvature Cl and the first inclination a vary from one curved protuberance to another from the adjacent protuberance 41a, 42a to the median transverse vertical plane PI to the protuberance 41b, 42b distant from the median transverse vertical plane PI.
[0055] The series 61, 62 of curved protuberances 4 of the at least one longitudinal row 6 are symmetrical with respect to the median transverse plane PI. This symmetry makes it possible to obtain a receding effect of the eyelashes on either side of the center of the eye.
[0056] Referring again to [Fig.4], the direction of elongation of each curved protuberance 4 has in a transverse vertical plane passing through said curved protuberance 4 at least one second curvature C2j - C2s. Here, the transverse vertical plane corresponds to the median plane PI. Only the second curvatures C2k, C2m are illustrated.
[0057] In particular, the second curvature C2j - C2s is identical from one curved protuberance to another on a longitudinal row 6. Furthermore, the second curvature C2j - C2s of each curved protuberance is turned towards the outside of the applicator 10, that is to say opposite the median longitudinal vertical plane P2.
[0058] In another embodiment not shown, the second curvature C2j - C2s is different from one curved protrusion to another along the at least one longitudinal row 6.
[0059] Thus, each curved protuberance 4 has a double curvature along its direction of elongation. The double curvature of the curved protuberances 4 not only makes it possible to give the eyelashes a flowing appearance with a minimum of movement, but also to provide a supple effect to the curved protuberances 4. The user thus has an impression of softness when applying makeup.
[0060] Still with reference to [Fig.4], the direction of elongation of each curved protuberance 4 has in a transverse vertical plane passing through said curved protuberance 4 at least a second inclination. Said second inclination corresponds to one of the angles [3j - [3s defined previously. Here, the transverse vertical plane illustrated corresponds to the median transverse vertical plane PL Only the second inclinations [31, [3o are illustrated.
[0061] It should be noted that on the at least one longitudinal row 6, the at least one second inclination [3j - [3s is constant from one curved protuberance 4 to another of the at least one longitudinal row 6.
[0062] In another embodiment not shown, the second inclination [3j - [3s is variable from one curved protuberance to another along the at least one longitudinal row 6.
[0063] Referring again to Figures 6 and 7, certain longitudinal rows 6 of curved protuberances 4 comprise a central protuberance 43. Said central protuberance 43 is located at the level of the median transverse vertical plane PL. Thus, the first inclination a associated with said central protuberance 43 has a zero value.
[0064] Still with reference to Figures 6 and 7, the first longitudinal face 22 and / or the second longitudinal face 24 comprise at least one pair (6A, 6B), (6C, 6D), (6E, 6F), (6G, 6H), (61, 6J) of longitudinal rows 6A - 6J of protrusions 4. In the at least one pair (6A, 6B), (6C, 6D), (6E, 6F), (6G, 6H), (61, 6J) of longitudinal rows 6A - 6J, the protrusions 4 of one row 6A - 6J are axially offset relative to the protrusions 4 of the other adjacent row 6A - 6J. This axial shift allows better cooperation between the longitudinal rows of at least one pair (6A, 6B), (6C, 6D), (6E, 6F), (6G, 6H), (61, 6J), in particular to lengthen the eyelashes.
[0065] Advantageously, with reference to [Fig. 6], the first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2 comprises two longitudinal rows of protuberances 4, called external rows 6A, 6D; and two longitudinal rows of protuberances 4, called internal rows, 6B, 6C. These longitudinal rows 6A - 6D extend in an inclined manner relative to the median vertical longitudinal plane P2 of the core 2 (see figures 4 and 8).
[0066] In other words, the longitudinal rows 6A - 6D of the first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2 are angularly distributed on either side of the median vertical longitudinal plane P2 of the core 2. Here, the longitudinal rows 6A - 6D are distributed according to an irregular angular pitch yl.
[0067] Preferably, the angular pitch yl between the adjacent internal longitudinal rows 6B, 6C is 10°. The angular pitch yl between an internal longitudinal row 6B, 6C and an adjacent external longitudinal row 6A, 6D is 20°.
[0068] Referring again to [Fig. 6], the protrusions 4 of the longitudinal rows 6A-6D located on the first longitudinal face 22 of the applicator 10 are each provided with a rounded head. These heads make it possible to better load the product onto the applicator 10. In addition, these heads effectively contribute to separating the eyelashes.
[0069] Furthermore, as illustrated in [Fig. 5], the height H2 of protuberances 4 of the longitudinal rows 6A - 6D located on the first longitudinal face 22 of the applicator 10 is variable on each of said longitudinal rows 6A - 6D. More specifically, on each longitudinal row 6A - 6D of the first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2, the height H2 of protuberances 4 varies in a decreasing manner from one of the protrusions 41a, 41b adjacent to the median transverse vertical plane PI towards one of the protrusions 42a, 42b distant from the median transverse vertical plane PI.
[0070] Due to the variation in the height H2 of the protrusions 4 on each longitudinal row 6A - 6D of the first longitudinal face 22 of the applicator 10, the envelope E has a convex profile at the level of this first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2. This convex profile is defined in the longitudinal plane RI - RIO associated with said longitudinal row 6A - 6D.
[0071] It should be noted that the height H2 of the protuberances 4 located on the first longitudinal face 22 of the applicator 10 is substantially constant over a circumferential row of the first longitudinal face 22 of the core 2 (see [Fig.4]). Due to this substantially constant height H2 and due to the angular distribution of the protuberances 4 located on said circumferential row, the envelope E has a convex transverse profile at the first longitudinal face 22. This profile is defined in a transverse vertical plane associated with said circumferential row.
[0072] Advantageously, with reference to [Fig.7], the second longitudinal face 24 of the applicator 10 comprises two pairs (6E, 6F), (61, 6J) of longitudinal rows of protrusions 4, called external rows 6E, 6F, 61, 6J; and a pair (6G, 6H) of longitudinal rows of protrusions 4, called internal rows 6G, 6H. The protrusions 4 of the internal rows 6G, 6H and the protrusions 4 of the external rows 6E, 6F; 61, 6J form a comb.
[0073] In each pair (6E, 6F), (61, 6J) of external rows, one of the rows 6E, 6J has protrusions 4 each provided with a head. Here, the protrusions 4 provided with a head are those belonging to the rows 6E, 6J furthest from the median longitudinal vertical plane P2.
[0074] Furthermore, in each external row 6E, 6F, 6I, 6J or internal row 6G, 6H of the second longitudinal face 24 of the applicator 10, the height H3 of the protuberances 4 is substantially constant. Due to this substantially constant height H3 of the protuberances 4 located on each longitudinal row 6E - 6J of the second longitudinal face 24, and due to the convex longitudinal profile of this second longitudinal face 24, the envelope E in turn has a convex longitudinal profile at the level of the second longitudinal face 24.
[0075] The internal rows 6G, 6H of the second longitudinal face 24 of the core 2 are located at the level of the crest 24A of the core 2.
[0076] In particular, these internal rows 6G, 6H are located on either side of the median vertical longitudinal plane P2. Here, the opposite internal faces of the protrusions 4 belonging to the internal rows 6G, 6H contain the median vertical longitudinal plane P2 of the core 2.
[0077] This configuration ensures a greater density of protrusions 4 at the level of the 24A crest. Such a density of protrusions 4 facilitates combing and lengthening of eyelashes.
[0078] Furthermore, the internal rows 6G, 6H of the second longitudinal face 24 of the applicator 10 extend perpendicularly to the core 2 from the crest 24A. In other words, the internal rows 6G, 6H are parallel to each other. Thus, the angle [3 formed between each internal row 6G, 6H of the second longitudinal face 24 of the core 2 and the median vertical longitudinal plane P2 is zero.
[0079] This configuration allows the internal rows 6G, 6H of the second longitudinal face 24 to better cooperate with each other in order to ensure the function of combing and lengthening the eyelashes. Furthermore, this configuration allows these internal rows 6G, 6H to stand out from the external rows 6E, 6F; 6I, 6J of the second longitudinal face 24.
[0080] Thus, the user, seeking finer combing and lengthening of the eyelashes, can more easily target and reach the internal rows 6G, 6H located at the level of the crest 24A, these rows being easily identifiable.
[0081] The external rows 6E, 6F; 61, 6J of the second longitudinal face 24 of the applicator 10 are located respectively in the hollows 24B, 24C of the core 2. These external rows 6E, 6F; 61, 6J extend in an inclined manner relative to the core 2 from the hollows 24B, 24C. Thus, these external rows 6E, 6F; 61, 6J are angularly distributed around the core 2, on either side of the median vertical longitudinal plane P2.
[0082] Here, as shown in [Fig.8], the external rows 6E, 6F; 61, 6J of the second longitudinal face 24 of the core 2 form a constant angle y2 between them. Similarly, these external rows 6E, 61 form with the adjacent internal rows 6G, 6H an angle identical to the angle y2. Preferably, the angle y2 is 15°.
[0083] Due to the angular distribution of the external rows 6E, 6F; 61, 6J of the second longitudinal face 24 of the applicator 10, the envelope E has a convex transverse profile at the level of this second longitudinal face 24.
[0084] Ultimately, the envelope E has a general ogive shape obtained thanks to a convex longitudinal profile and a convex transverse profile at the level of the first longitudinal face 22 and at the level of the second longitudinal face 24 of the applicator 10. This general ogive shape facilitates in particular the application of the cosmetic product at the level of the internal corner of the eye.
[0085] It should be noted that the external rows 6A, 6D of the first longitudinal face 22 are separated from each other by a linear distance L1 which is less than a linear distance L2 separating the external rows 6E, 6J of the second longitudinal face 24. The distances L1, L2 are defined from the free ends 4b of the protuberances 4 belonging to the rows considered 6A, 6D, 6E, 6J. These distances L1, L2 cor correspond to a span of the envelope E at the level of the first longitudinal face 22 and at the level of the second longitudinal face 24 of the applicator 10.
[0086] Thus the span L2 of the envelope E measured at the level of the second face 24 of the applicator 10 is greater than the span L1 of the same envelope E measured at the level of the first face 22 of the applicator 10. This difference in span between the first longitudinal face 22 and the second longitudinal face 24 allows the user to distinguish these two faces 22, 24 more easily.
[0087] Advantageously, the applicator 10 is formed from a single piece, for example by injection molding or 3D printing. The protrusions 4 are then made in one piece with the core 2.
[0088] The invention also relates to an applicator assembly 100 for a cosmetic product. The applicator assembly 100 comprises a container 50 comprising a body forming a reservoir intended to contain the cosmetic product. The applicator assembly also comprises an applicator 10 as defined above. The applicator 10 is adapted to be attached to the container 50, so that the applicator 10 is housed inside the reservoir.
[0089] To do this, the applicator 10 is fixed, for example, to a proximal end of the rod 60, itself fixed to a stopper 70. The stopper 70 is advantageously provided with a means of fixing to the container 50.
[0090] Advantageously, the container 50 comprises a wringer 80 fixed inside the container 50, in particular in a neck 52 or an opening orifice of the container 50. This wringer 80 has an internal diameter substantially identical to a maximum diameter of a circular cross-section of the envelope E.
[0091] Thus, the ogive-shaped envelope E facilitates in particular the insertion of the applicator 10 through the neck 52 of the container 50 and / or the wiper 80 containing the cosmetic product. The passage of the applicator 10 through the wiper 80 makes it possible to remove the excess cosmetic product but also to homogenize the distribution of the cosmetic product along the applicator 10.
