Description

Title of the invention: Care composition for keratin materials and mask containing it Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition and a mask containing the same. In particular, the present invention relates to a care composition for keratin materials and a mask containing the same. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] Skin aging is part of the aging process of the human body, which is not only related to age itself, but is also closely related to external factors, such as exposure to sunlight. Light-induced skin aging ("photoaging") is mainly caused by solar radiation, and as the degradation of the ozone layer worsens, photoaging of the skin becomes increasingly significant, which affects the appearance of the skin.

[0003] As for age-related imperfections, wrinkles are clearly the most representative of these.

[0004] Among these wrinkles, it is possible to distinguish between "pronounced" wrinkles, which are very visible, and which can have a depth of 300 microns or more, "medium" wrinkles, which are visible, and which have a depth in the range between 150 microns and 300 microns, and "light" wrinkles, which are less visible than those above and which have a depth of less than 150 microns.

[0005] For obvious reasons, the presence of wrinkles on the face often poses aesthetic problems which, depending on the person, can be difficult to live with, and there is therefore a need to combat the visibility of wrinkles.

[0006] It is known that these imperfections can be corrected by applying active agents to the skin capable of tightening the skin through a tensor effect, this tension making it possible to smooth the skin and immediately reduce wrinkles and fine lines, or even make them disappear.

[0007] There are a few masks on the market designed to tighten the skin.

[0008] With regard to masks (face masks and eye masks), in order for them to have better impregnation in a mask cloth, the viscosity of the cosmetic composition should be relatively low. However, if the viscosity of the cosmetic composition is too low, the composition will drip from the mask cloth.

[0009] In addition, for masks using alginate wadding as the mask wadding, it is necessary to incorporate cationic ions so that the cosmetic composition is impregnated into the wadding, which could also reduce the stability of the cosmetic composition.

[0010] In order to be commercially acceptable, the composition must be stable over a certain period of time.

[0011] Thus, there is a need to formulate a composition for tightening keratin materials, which is stable and suitable for a mask using alginate wadding as the mask wadding. Summary of the invention

[0012] An object of the present invention is to provide a composition for tightening keratin materials, which is stable and suitable for a mask using alginate wadding as the mask wadding.

[0013] Another object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic process for tightening keratin materials.

[0014] Thus, according to a first aspect, the present invention provides a care composition for keratin materials in gel form, comprising, in a hydrophilic phase,

[0016] (ii) at least one hydrophilic thickener; and

[0017] (iii) at least one polyol;

[0018] wherein the composition has a viscosity of 600 to 2,000 MPa.s as determined with a Rheomat 100 Plus viscometer equipped with an M3 spindle at a shear rate of 200 rpm.

[0019] The composition according to the present invention is stable and suitable for a mask, especially those using alginate wadding as the mask wadding.

[0020] The composition according to the present invention has a viscosity of 600 to 2000 MPa.s as determined with a Rheomat 100 Plus viscometer equipped with an M3 spindle at a shear rate of 200 rpm, and has a jelly-like texture.

[0021] The composition according to the present invention can be used to tighten keratin materials and provide smoothing effectiveness.

[0022] According to a second aspect, the present invention provides a care mask for keratin materials, comprising:

[0023] A) a water-insoluble alginate wadding fabric, and

[0024] B) a composition according to the first aspect of the present invention.

[0025] The composition and mask according to the present invention can be used to tighten keratin materials.

[0026] According to a third aspect, the present invention also provides a cosmetic care process for keratin materials with the mask, comprising:

[0027] I) applying the cotton fabric for mask to the keratin materials; and

[0028] II) applying the composition to the cotton fabric.

[0029] Other objects and characteristics, aspects and advantages of the present invention will appear even more clearly on reading the detailed description and the examples which follow. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0138] It is found that the composition according to the present invention has a viscosity suitable for topical application and is stable.

[0139] In a consumer test, the resulting compositions were applied to an alginate cotton cloth (includes calcium alginate in an amount of 40% by weight, relative to the total weight of the cotton cloth) on the face of 14 female volunteers aged 19 to 40 years (5 of whom had combination skin, 4 normal skin, 3 dry skin, 2 oily skin), each volunteer gave their impression of the application and the feeling on the skin for each composition, and it was observed that:

[0140] 1) the compositions of the invention examples 1 to 5 were easy to spread on the fabric cotton wool and there were no dripping problems when the compositions were applied to the cotton wool, the cotton wool became transparent and shrank, the cotton wool adhered very well to the skin;

[0141] 2) there was a dripping problem and the wadding fabric was falling apart when the composition of comparative example 1 was applied to the wadded fabric;

[0142] 3) there was a dripping problem when the composition of the example comparative 2 was applied on the wadded fabric;

[0143] 4) the composition of comparative example 3 was not easy to spread on the fabric wadded and the wadded fabric disintegrated when the composition of Comparative Example 3 was applied to the wadded fabric;

[0144] 5) after the composition of Comparative Example 4 has been applied to the fabric wadded, the wadded fabric did not change obviously, and the wadded fabric did not become transparent and the user did not feel any tightening due to the wadded fabric;

[0145] 6) when the composition of Comparative Example 5 was applied to the wadded fabric, the wadded fabric was falling apart.

[0146] In addition, shrinkage of the fleece on the directed machine was determined 10 minutes after a composition to be evaluated was applied to the fleece and the results are summarized in Table 5.

[0148] NA: not tested since the composition does not meet the usage requirements.

[0149] To summarize, the mask according to the present invention can tighten the skin and provide smoothing effectiveness.
