Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: FOLDABLE CHILDREN'S DECK CHAIR Field of invention
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of childcare. It relates in particular to a foldable deckchair or hammock for children. Technical background
[0002] Generally speaking, a child's deckchair or hammock comprises a flexible element, such as a canvas, attached to a fixed frame resting on the ground. This deckchair is intended for children aged approximately 0 to 9 months and allows them to be placed in a lying or slightly inclined position. This type of deckchair is very bulky, especially when it comes to finding a place to store them after use.
[0003] Today, there are so-called folding deckchairs to overcome this problem of bulk. Folding deckchairs include a connecting mechanism for folding them. However, the connecting mechanisms include several parts that complicate the implementation and folding of the deckchairs. Furthermore, these connecting mechanisms cooperate with locking devices that are not easy to use, particularly because of the demanding safety standards relating to handling. These standards can degrade the ease of use of the product: poor accessibility that may force the user to bend down to reach the connecting mechanism and / or the locking device, complex handling, etc. Summary of the invention
[0004] The aim of the present invention is to provide a simple solution making it easier to fold a child's deckchair while being economical in terms of manufacturing cost.
[0005] This objective is achieved in accordance with the invention by means of a foldable child's deckchair comprising a frame intended to rest on a support surface, a seat structure intended to carry a flexible element for receiving a child, and a connecting mechanism between the frame and the seat structure which is configured so as to allow at least the movement of the frame relative to the seat structure, the connecting mechanism comprising a transmission shaft which extends along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end, and which is connected to two uprights of the seat structure at the first and second ends, and a central housing, fixed to the chassis, which is crossed on either side by the transmission shaft along the longitudinal axis, the deckchair comprising a locking device which is housed in the central housing and which comprises a first element integral in movement with the transmission shaft and a second element movable between a locking position of the first element and an unlocking position of the first element.
[0006] Thus, this solution makes it possible to achieve the aforementioned objective. In particular, such a transmission shaft makes it possible to create a connection between the chassis and the seat structure as well as the locking device. The latter also presents simplicity and makes it possible to lock the position of the deckchair in the desired position efficiently and reliably. This configuration also offers great compactness and intuitive use.
[0007] The deckchair also includes one or more of the following features, taken alone or in combination:
[0008] - the deckchair comprises a sheath enveloping the transmission shaft and extending on either side of the central housing along the longitudinal axis.
[0009] - the deckchair includes a protective sheath which is installed in the sheath and around the drive shaft.
[0010] - the first element is centered on the longitudinal axis and is provided with first teeth at least on a portion of its periphery, the second element being movable around an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis and comprising at least one second tooth intended to engage with one of the first teeth.
[0011] - a return element is arranged in the central housing and so as to exert a restoring force on the second movable element towards the first element.
[0012] - the sheath comprises a first part and a second part which are separated by the central housing along the longitudinal axis, the central housing comprising a bore opening into a central bore of the sheath.
[0013] - the central housing comprises a connecting portion which comprises the bore, the connecting portion having an external surface having surface continuity with an external surface of the sheath.
[0014] - a connection element is mounted on the one hand, at each free end of a amount of the seat structure and on the other hand, at each distal end of the first part of the sheath and of the second part of the sheath, each connection element comprising a blind hole receiving respectively the first and second ends of the transmission shaft.
[0015] - the deckchair comprises control elements configured so as to order the locking or unlocking of the locking device.
[0016] - the control elements are arranged so as to cause the movement of the second element between the locking position and the unlocking position.
[0017] - one of the first element and second element comprising at least one tooth intended to be housed in a corresponding notch of the other of the first element and second element so as to lock the transmission shaft in motion. Brief description of the figures
[0018] The invention will be better understood, and other aims, details, characteristics and advantages thereof will appear more clearly on reading the detailed explanatory description which follows, of embodiments of the invention given as purely illustrative and non-limiting examples, with reference to the appended schematic drawings in which:

[0024] [Fig.6] illustrates another embodiment of a connecting mechanism and locking device in a first position according to the invention; and
[0025] [Fig.7] shows the connecting mechanism member and the locking device in a second position according to [Fig.6]. Detailed description of the invention
[0026] [Fig.l] illustrates a foldable deckchair 1 for infants such as children aged 0 to 9 months (or until the child at least tries to get up on their own) or having a maximum weight of 15kg. The deckchair allows the child to lie down or slightly inclined so as to rest or interact with their environment.
[0027] The deckchair 1 comprises a frame 2 intended to rest a support surface S and a seat structure 3 intended to carry a flexible element (not shown) which allows the child to be received. The deckchair 1 also comprises a connecting mechanism 4 between the frame 2 and the seat structure 3. The connecting mechanism 4 is configured so as to allow at least the movement of the seat structure 3 relative to the frame 2.
[0028] In the present description, the flexible element may be a canvas, a cushion or a foam of low thickness (for example between 2 and 100 mm) covered with a canvas. The flexible element has flexibility so as to install the child safely and possibly to fit the child's shape. Accessories such as A harness, headrest, or shoulder protector can be provided for greater comfort and safety for the child in the soft element. The harness is attached to the soft element and helps secure the child. The harness can be a three-point or five-point harness. The shoulder protector or headrest can be attached to the soft element or be attached. A reducer can also be provided to adapt the soft element to the morphology of a newborn.
[0029] The seat structure 3 comprises in the present example two uprights 5a, 5b which are substantially parallel to each other. The seat structure 3 advantageously, but not limitingly, has a general U-shape with the two uprights 5a, 5b and a longitudinal bar 5c. The longitudinal bar 5c extends along a longitudinal axis X. This U-shape facilitates the manufacture and assembly of the different parts of the deckchair 1. The uprights 5a, 5b may have an inclination relative to a straight line which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X and which is contained in the plane of the uprights 5a, 5b. The inclination may be of the order of 5° to 10°. Alternatively, the seat structure 3 comprises the two uprights 5a, 5b and the longitudinal bar 5c is added to connect the two uprights 5a, 5b.
[0030] The flexible element is generally fixed at least to the uprights 5a, 5b and to the bar 5c. The fixing may be permanent or may be removable. Advantageously, the flexible element is fixed in a removable manner to facilitate its removal and maintenance. The fixing in this case may be achieved using press studs, Velcro® strips, etc.
[0031] The connecting mechanism 4 comprises a central housing 6. The central housing 6 is advantageously arranged in a median plane PM parallel to the main direction of elongation of the deckchair. The longitudinal axis X is perpendicular to the main direction of elongation of the deckchair 1.
[0032] The chassis 2 advantageously comprises two arms 7a, 7b which are fixed to the central housing 6. Each arm 7a, 7b comprises a first end 7aa, 7ba which is fixed to the central housing 6. The first ends 7aa, 7ba are parallel to each other in the example shown in [Fig.l]. The first ends 7aa, 7ba also advantageously extend parallel to the median plane PM. In other words, the arms 7a, 7b extend from the central housing 6 along a first transverse axis T.
[0033] The first transverse axis T is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X and to a second transverse axis V.
[0034] Still in [Fig.l], advantageously, but not limitatively, the central housing 6 comprises a receiving face 8, defined in a plane perpendicular to the first transverse axis T and the arms 7a, 7b extend from this receiving face. The receiving face 8 comprises two orifices (not shown) with axes parallel to the first transverse axis T and which open into the interior of the central housing. The latter comprises two receiving housings (not shown) which are intended to receive at least part of the first and second ends 7aa, 7ba. Each orifice is arranged opposite a housing and opens into it. Each housing extends along the first transverse axis T.
[0035] Advantageously, the central housing 6 is formed of a first housing part 6a and a second housing part 6b. The second housing part 6b comprises the two housings for receiving the first and second ends 7aa, 7ba for better holding them in position. Of course, the central housing 6 could comprise a single housing. The first housing part 6a covers the second housing part 6b with the first and second ends.
[0036] According to an alternative embodiment illustrated in [Fig.2], the first ends 7aa, 7ba extend along an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis X and each from the receiving face 8 which is this time defined in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. The central housing 6 comprises at least one housing (not shown) in which the first and second ends 7aa, 7bb are housed. The housing extends along an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis X. Advantageously, but not limitingly, the housing is formed by the first housing part 6a and the second housing part 6b.
[0037] In the present embodiment, the chassis 2 also comprises a cross member 7c which is connected to the two arms 7a, 7b. The cross member 7c and the two arms 7a, 7b are intended to rest for example in a stable manner on the support surface S such as the ground as shown in [Fig.l].
[0038] The arms 7a, 7b and the crosspiece 7c have a generally triangular shape in [Fig.l]. The crosspiece 7c extends here along the longitudinal axis X. Of course, the arms 7a, 7b and the crosspiece 7c may have a generally U-shape. The crosspiece 7c is integral with the arms. Alternatively, the crosspiece 7c may be attached and fixed to the arms 7a, 7b.
[0039] The arms 7a, 7b and the crosspiece 7c may be made of a metal material and / or wood. The metal material may be aluminum or steel. These may be lacquered. The elements of the seat structure 3 may be made of a metal material or wood.
[0040] The connecting mechanism 4 is configured so that the deckchair 1 occupies or moves between at least a first position and a second position. In the first position, the arms 7a, 7b of the frame 2 and the uprights 5a, 5b of the seat structure 3 extend in planes which are substantially parallel (+ or - 5°). These planes are perpendicular to the median plane PM. In the second position, the uprights 5a, 5b extend in a plane transverse to the plane in which the arms 7a, 7b of the frame are defined. In other words, the seat structure 3 is at a distance from the frame in the second position. The deckchair 1 can occupy one or more intermediate positions between the first and second positions. The opening angle between the first position and the second position can be between 20° and 55°.
[0041] In normal conditions of use where the deckchair can accommodate a child, the deckchair 1 occupies the second position with the arms 7a, 7b resting on the support surface S and the uprights 5a, 5b at a distance from the arms 7a, 7b. The longitudinal axis X and the first transverse axis T are in this case parallel to the support surface. The arms 7a, 7b are inclined relative to the plane XT.
[0042] With reference to [Fig. 2], the connecting mechanism 4 comprises a transmission shaft 9 which extends along the longitudinal axis X. The transmission shaft 9 is connected to the uprights 5a, 5b of the seat structure 3. Advantageously, the transmission shaft 9 extends between a first end 9a and a second end 9b along the longitudinal axis X. The first end 9a and the second end 9b of the transmission shaft 9 are connected to the uprights 5a, 5b.
[0043] The movement of the seat structure 3 relative to the chassis 2 is a rotation around the longitudinal axis X. The transmission shaft 9 allows the rotation to be carried out.
[0044] The central housing 6 comprises a bore 10 which passes through it on either side along the longitudinal axis X. Here, the central housing 6 is arranged in a central zone of the transmission shaft 9 relative to the length of the transmission shaft 9. The transmission shaft 9 passes through the bore 10 of the central housing 6. We understand that the median plane PM of the central housing 6 is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. In this way, the seat structure 3 can pivot relative to the chassis 2 thanks to the transmission shaft 9 which rotates inside the bore 10 of the chassis 2.
[0045] The transmission shaft 9 advantageously, but not limitatively, provides a flexible connection between the chassis 2 and the seat structure 3. The flexibility can be defined by the small section of the transmission shaft 9. The rotational forces generate a torque on the transmission shaft 9 which in this case works as a torque damper. The transmission shaft 9 can have a cross-section of between 25 mm2 and 400 mm2. This section allows elastic deformation of the transmission shaft 9 when a predetermined weight is applied to the deckchair.
[0046] The transmission shaft 9 here has a rectangular cross-section. Of course, the transmission shaft 9 could have a circular or other cross-section.
[0047] Alternatively, the transmission shaft 9 is rigid. In this case, when a determined weight is applied to the deckchair 1, the uprights 5a, 5b of the seat structure 3 will deform rather than the transmission shaft 9.
[0048] Referring to [Fig.3], a connecting element 11 is mounted towards one end free 5aa, 5ba of each upright 5a, 5b. The connecting element 11 makes it possible to connect the transmission shaft 9 to the uprights 5a, 5b. The connecting element 11 is presented here as a plug or an end piece. For this purpose, each connecting element 11 advantageously comprises a blind hole 12 which opens onto a lateral surface 13 thereof. The lateral surface 13 is defined in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. The blind hole 12 has an axis coaxial with the longitudinal axis X.
[0049] The blind hole 12 of each connecting element 11 receives respectively one of the first and second ends 9a, 9b of the transmission shaft 9. The blind hole 12 ensures the transmission of the torque to the transmission shaft 9 via the interface with the uprights 5a and 5b. Advantageously, each blind hole 12 has a shape corresponding to that of the transmission shaft (or at least to the first and second ends 9a, 9b of the transmission shaft 9.
[0050] Each connection element 11 can be attached and fixed to each free end 5aa, 5ba of an upright 5a, 5b. Alternatively, each connection element 11 is integrally formed (formed from a single piece) with an upright 5a, 5b.
[0051] In the present example, the connection element 11 is attached and the connection element 11 is fixed to an upright by means of threaded members. Other fixing means such as welding or other suitable means are conceivable.
[0052] According to an exemplary embodiment, each connection element 11 comprises for example a first orifice 14 in which the free end 5aa, 5ba of an upright 5a, 5b is received. The first orifice 14 opens into the blind hole 12 and also onto an external surface 15 of the connection element 11. The first orifice 14 extends in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X.
[0053] The free end 5aa, 5ba of each upright 5a, 5b can in this case be connected to the connection element 11 or to the transmission shaft 9. As can be seen in [Fig. 3], the connection element 11 further comprises a second orifice 16 which opens on the one hand into the blind hole 12 and on the other hand onto the external surface 15 thereof. The first orifice 14 is advantageously coaxial with the second orifice 16. Fastening members 30 are received in each first orifice 14 so as to achieve the fastening of an upright 5a, 5b with the connection element 11. The fastening members 30 here comprise a screw 31. Advantageously, but not limitingly, each free end 5aa, 5ba comprises a tapped hole 22 intended to receive the threaded part of the screw 31.
[0054] Advantageously, the transmission shaft 9 comprises openings 26 passing transversely through it on either side. Each opening 26 is arranged at (towards) one end 9a, 9b of the transmission shaft 9. Each opening 26 is (in the installation situation) opposite the first and second orifices 14, 16. Each screw 31 also passes through a corresponding light 26. In other words, the fixing member 30 fixes together the connecting element 11, the transmission shaft 9 and the corresponding upright 5a, 5b.
[0055] In this way, the connection elements 11 ensure the mechanical connection between the seat structure 3 and the transmission shaft 9.
[0056] With reference to Figures 2 and 3, the deckchair 1 advantageously, but not limited to, comprises a sheath 27 surrounding the transmission shaft 9. This makes it possible to protect the transmission shaft 9 from the external environment. In other words, the sheath 27 comprises a central bore 28 with an axis coaxial with the longitudinal axis. The bore 10 of the central housing 6 opens into the central bore 28 of the sheath 27. The transmission shaft 9 passes through this central bore 28 as well as the bore 10 of the central housing 6. The central bore 28 opens at each end of the sheath 27.
[0057] In this embodiment, the sheath 27 extends on either side of the central housing 6. In other words, the sheath 27 is formed of a first part 27a and a second part 27b. The first part 27a and the second part 27b are separated by the central housing 6. Also, the central housing 6 and the sheath 27 are distinct. This makes it easier to manufacture and assemble the connecting mechanism 6 as well as the deckchair 1. The two-part sheath 27 also makes it easier to maintain and repair it. Furthermore, the fact that the sheath 27 is in two parts means that it is more economical, lighter and more aesthetic.
[0058] Advantageously, the sheath 27 is made of a metallic material or wood. The metallic material may be steel or aluminum.
[0059] Advantageously, the central housing 6 comprises at least one connecting portion 19 having at least one cross-section similar to that of the sheath 27. Here, the sheath 27 has a cylindrical shape with a circular section. The connecting portion 19 comprises a cylindrical shape with a circular section. Of course, the sheath 27 could have a rectangular shape and the connecting portion 19 also.
[0060] Advantageously, the sheath 27 has an external surface 20 having surface continuity with the external surface 21 of the connecting portion 19. This makes it possible to avoid snags with the support surface, a fabric or other.
[0061] Each first part 27a and second part 27b of the sheath 27 comprises a proximal end 32a and a distal end 32b. The proximal and distal ends are opposite 32a, 32b along the longitudinal axis (in the installation situation). Each proximal end 32a is coupled with a lateral flank 23 of the connecting portion 19. A connection element 11 is mounted at each distal end 32b of the first and second parts of the sheath 27. For this, each connection element 11 comprises a first boss 24 which engages in a first counterbore 18 of the first and second parts of the sheath 27. Each first counterbore 18 is formed in the sheath 27 and has a wall abutting against a bearing surface formed by the first boss 24. Each first boss 24 extends from the lateral surface 13 of the connection element 11. Here, the first boss 24 is cylindrical with a circular section and is centered on the longitudinal axis X. The first counterbore opens into the central bore 28. This makes it possible to maintain and center the connection element 11 in position on the sheath.
[0062] The first boss 24 delimits a recess 25 which opens into the blind hole 12. The recess 25 is here coaxial with the blind hole 12. Advantageously, but not limitingly, the recess 25 has an internal dimension (here an internal diameter) which is greater than the internal dimension (height, width or diameter) of the blind hole 12.
[0063] In the example shown, each connection element 11 also comprises a second boss 64 which engages in a second counterbore 65 provided at each distal end of the sheath 27 so as to hold and center the connection element 11 on the sheath 27. The second boss is arranged around the first boss. The second counterbore 65 advantageously opens into the central bore 28 and is coaxial with the first counterbore 18. The second counterbore 65 has an internal diameter greater than that of the first counterbore 18. Of course, the connection element 11 may comprise a single boss.
[0064] The bore portions (of the central bore 28) of the first and second sheath portions 27 open at the distal ends 32b.
[0065] Advantageously, the sheath 27 is locked in rotation relative to the longitudinal axis X. The locking in rotation of the sheath 27 can be achieved by means of an anti-rotation pin 17 extending between the central housing 6 and the first and second parts 27a, 27b of the sheath 27. The anti-rotation pin 17 is visible along a cutaway portion in [Fig. 2]. The anti-rotation pin 17 can be attached or formed in one piece with the central housing 6 or the sheath 27. In the case of the attached anti-rotation pin 17, the central housing 6 comprises notches (not shown) opening onto the lateral flanks 23 of the central housing 6 along the longitudinal axis. The proximal ends 32b comprise complementary notches (not shown) of the notches of the central housing 6. The notches and complementary notches receive the anti-rotation pins 17. Alternatively and as shown in [Fig.2], each lateral flank 23 is provided with at least one anti-rotation pin 17 which projects along the longitudinal axis X and which is received in a notch arranged at the proximal end 32a. In other words, the anti-rotation pin 17 is integral with the central housing 6. This makes it possible to avoid unwanted movements of the first and second parts 27a, 27b of the sheath 27.
[0066] According to an embodiment not illustrated, the sheath 27 is made in a single piece (made of the same material) with the connecting portion 19 of the central housing 26. In this case, each first part and second part of the sheath 27 projects from a lateral flank 23 along the longitudinal axis X.
[0067] According to an advantageous, but not limiting, characteristic, a protective sheath 34 is installed in the sleeve 27 and around the transmission shaft 9. More precisely, the protective sheath 34 extends into the central bore 28 of the sleeve 27. The protective sheath 34 makes it possible to guide the transmission shaft 9 in rotation and prevents friction between the different parts. In this example, the protective sheath 34 has a tubular shape coaxial with the longitudinal axis X.
[0068] In [Fig. 2], the protective sheath 34 extends partly into the recess 25 of the connection elements 11. The protective sheath 34 has a cylindrical external surface advantageously bearing against a cylindrical internal surface of the first boss 24. The internal cylindrical surface delimits the recess 25 of the connection element 11. We understand that the diameter of the protective sheath 34 is substantially equal to or slightly less (by approximately 5 mm) than the internal diameter of the bearing surface 24.
[0069] As can be seen in [Fig. 3], the protective sheath 34 is at a distance from the transmission shaft 9 so as not to hinder the rotation of the transmission shaft 9. The protective sheath 34 is also arranged at a distance from an internal surface of the sheath 27.
[0070] Advantageously, the protective sheath 34 is made of a metallic material. This material makes it easier to guide. An example of a metallic material is steel. Other materials that are both robust and lightweight are possible.
[0071] With reference to Figures 4 and 5, the deckchair 1 comprises a locking device 50 intended to lock the deckchair 1 in the first position or in the second position. The locking device 50 also makes it possible to lock the position of the deckchair 1 in the intermediate position(s).
[0072] The locking device 50 is advantageously housed in the central housing 6. The latter cooperates with the transmission shaft 9.
[0073] For this purpose, the locking device 50 comprises a first element 29 which is integral in movement with the transmission shaft 9. In particular, the first element 29 is fixed to the transmission shaft 9 by means of fixing members 40. The fixing members comprise at least one screw 41 and one nut 42. In an alternative embodiment illustrated in [Fig. 2], the fixing members 40 comprise two screws 41, 41' which are directly screwed into threads provided in the first element 29. Other fixing members 40 are of course conceivable.
[0074] As can be seen in Figures 4 and 5, the first element 29 comprises a longitudinal slot 33 which opens onto a peripheral external surface 43 of the first element 29. The transmission shaft 9 can be inserted into this slot 33 so that the first element 29 at least partially surrounds the transmission shaft 9. The first element 29 also comprises a cavity 35 which passes through the first element 29 on either side along an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cavity 35 opens into the slot 33 and also onto the peripheral external surface 43. The screw(s) 41 is / are passing through the cavity 35 and the longitudinal slot 33 as well as the transmission shaft 9. In other words, the transmission shaft 9 comprises a through opening 36 on either side transversely. In the installation situation, the through opening 36 is arranged opposite the cavity 35. In this way, the first element 29 can rotate at the same time as the transmission shaft 9.
[0075] In an alternative embodiment, the cavity 35 is blind and has a thread for screwing in the screw(s) 4L. The cavity 35 opens into the slot 33.
[0076] Advantageously, the first element 29 is installed in a niche 44 of the central housing 6 and preferably at the level of the connecting portion 19. The niche 44 is crossed by the bore 10 of the central housing 6. The niche 44 advantageously, but not limitingly, has a shape which is inscribed in a circle coaxial with the bore 10. The niche 44 has a diameter which is here greater than the diameter of the bore 10. Furthermore, the first element 29 has a shape conjugated to that of the niche 44.
[0077] The first element 29 has substantially the shape of a wheel centered on the longitudinal axis.
[0078] The locking device 50 comprises a second element 38 movable between a locking position of the first element 29 and an unlocking position of the first movable element 29. The second element 38 is movable in rotation about an axis A parallel to the longitudinal axis X. Advantageously, the second element 38 is mounted on the central housing 6 according to a pivot connection.
[0079] One of the first element 28 and second element 29 comprises at least one tooth intended to be housed in a corresponding notch of the other of the first element and second element so as to lock the transmission shaft 9 in movement.
[0080] Advantageously and according to the embodiment illustrated, the first element 28 is provided with first teeth 37 at least on a portion of the peripheral external surface. The space between two adjacent teeth forms a notch. The second element 29 comprises at least one second tooth 39 intended to engage with one of the first teeth 37 of the wheel. In particular, the second tooth can be housed in a notch. In the example shown, the second element 38 comprises several second teeth 39.
[0081] Alternatively, the first element 29 could comprise a single first tooth 37 and the second element 38 could comprise several corresponding second teeth 39.
[0082] The shape of the teeth is designed so that the first element 29 and the second element 38 lock by themselves.
[0083] Advantageously, the second element 38 is installed in a chamber 45 of the central housing 6. The bore 10 (as well as the niche 44) opens into the chamber 45. The latter extends along an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Advantageously, the chamber 45 is arranged in an extension portion 46 of the central housing 6 which extends along the first transverse axis T. The extension portion 46 has a substantially parallelepiped shape. The extension portion 46 is coupled to the connecting portion 19. Advantageously, the central housing 6 is made in one piece.
[0084] In this embodiment, the second element 38 is in the form of a cam. The latter is simple to manufacture and implement.
[0085] The locking device 50 further comprises a return element 47 arranged so as to exert a return force on the second movable element 38 towards the first movable element 29. The return element 47 is installed in the central housing 6. The return element 47 is in particular arranged in the chamber 45 and advantageously downstream of the second element 38, here the cam, relative to the first transverse axis T. The return element 47 is advantageously a compression spring whose axis is parallel to the first transverse axis T.
[0086] The deckchair 1 advantageously comprises control elements 48 configured to control the locking device.
[0087] According to a first embodiment of the control elements 48. The latter comprise a handle 49 or control button which is arranged on the seat structure and preferably on the longitudinal bar 5c as shown in [Fig.l]. Alternatively, the handle 49 is arranged on the chassis 2. The control elements 48 are in this case at a distance from the locking device 50. The control elements 48 further comprise a cable (not shown) which is connected on the one hand to the handle 49 and on the other hand to the second element 38 (here the cam). The cable is advantageously mounted in a sheath 63 so as to protect it from external elements and extend its service life. When the handle 49 is actuated, the cable which connects this handle to the second element 38 allows the latter to be retracted which then releases the movement of the first element 29 around the longitudinal axis.By ceasing the action on the handle, the return element (spring) brings the teeth of the second element 38 back into engagement with the teeth of the first element 29. In this way, . the drive shaft can no longer rotate.
[0088] Figures 6 and 7 illustrate another embodiment of the locking device 50 and the control elements 48. In particular, in this embodiment, the second element comprises a transverse tab 53 which extends from a head 38a (carrying the complementary tooth(s) 32). The control elements 48 comprise a control button 51 which is configured so as to actuate the return element 47 of the second element 38. A first return element 47, such as a compression spring, intended to exert a return force on the second element 38, has an axis defined in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (i.e. parallel to the second transverse axis V (which is here vertical with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7). The control button 51 is in this case arranged in an orifice 52 with an axis parallel to the second transverse axis V. The orifice 52 opens into the chamber 45 of the central housing 6.The control button 51 comprises a base 51a and a cylindrical rod 51b which extends along the second transverse axis V from the base 51a. Advantageously, the transverse tab 53 is arranged along the second transverse axis V between a portion of the control button 51 (preferably the base 51a) and the first return element 47.
[0089] The transverse tab 53 advantageously comprises a through orifice 53a which passes transversely through it on both sides and which is crossed by the cylindrical rod 51b. A second return element 54, such as a spring, is arranged inside a cavity 55 of the control button 51. The cylindrical rod 51b comprises the cavity 55. This second return element 54 is also received in a recess 56 arranged coaxially with the axis of the orifice 52 of the central housing 6. The recess 56 extends along the second transverse axis V advantageously. This makes it possible to maintain the second return element 54 and to guide the control button 51. The recess 56 is delimited by a peripheral wall 57 which projects from the bottom of the central housing 6 along the second transverse axis V. The first return element 47 is arranged around this peripheral wall 57.In other words, the first recall element is arranged around the second recall element.
[0090] Advantageously, end-of-travel stop means for the rotation of the second element 38 may be provided. A stop may be formed by the bottom 58 of the recess 56 where a cylindrical wall of the control button 51 bears. Another stop may be formed by a lip 59 which projects from an external peripheral surface of the second element 38. This lip 59 bears against a surface 60 of the central housing 6. Advantageously, the lip 59 is carried by the head 38a of the second element 38. The surface 60 is defined in a plane perpendicular to the first transverse axis T and is arranged in the chamber 45.
[0091] Advantageously, the central housing 6 comprises a resting surface 61 against which a surface portion 62 of the second element 38 abuts in the locking position. The surface portion 62 has a shape corresponding to that of the resting surface 61. The resting surface 61 is here inclined relative to the first transverse axis T at a predetermined angle. The predetermined angle may be between 35° and 55°.
[0092] When the control button 51 is actuated, it presses on the first return element 47 which allows the second element 38 to be retracted and which then releases the movement of the first element 29 around the longitudinal axis. By ceasing the action on the control button 51, the first return element 47 (the spring) brings at least the tooth of the second element 38 back into engagement with the teeth of the first element 29. In this way, the transmission shaft 9 can no longer pivot. The torque generated on the toothed wheel generates a force directed in a plane which forces the cam to brace itself against the toothed wheel.
[0093] When the user wishes to fold the deckchair 1, the latter actuates the control elements 48 which enable the locking device 50 to be unlocked. The second element 38 being spaced from the first element 29 secured to the transmission shaft 9, then the user can tilt the uprights 5a, 5b which cause the transmission shaft 9 to rotate. By releasing the control elements 48, the user can lock the deckchair in the desired position.
[0094] The locking device 50 is effective and reliable because it does not allow unlocking as long as a torque is applied to the first element 29.
