[0036] [Fig.l] represents, schematically and in the form of blocks, an embodiment of a bidirectional thermo-hydraulic station 100.
[0037] The bidirectional thermo-hydraulic station 100, hereinafter called station 100, is an interface making it possible to supply a consumer 120 (USER) with energy thermal from one or more thermal energy sources. In the remainder of the description, the station 100 is adapted to be used in a heating network, the consumer is therefore a network of a building or directly a heating means such as a radiator. According to a variant accessible to the person skilled in the art, the station 100 is adapted to be used in a cold network, also called a refrigeration network.
[0038] Here, the term "thermal energy" refers to the kinetic energy of a set of fluid particles supplied to the station 100. The thermal energy can be heat, in the case of a high temperature and a heating network. The thermal energy can also be cold energy, in the case of a low temperature and a refrigeration network.
[0039] Herein, a "thermal energy source" is a source providing a fluid carrying thermal energy, whether cold or hot. Different examples of thermal energy sources are described below.
[0040] The station 100 is adapted, more particularly, to receive energy from several thermal energy sources, at least two. Thus, in [Fig.l], the station 100 receives thermal energy from a first source 151 (DHN) and a second source 152 (Solar Field). The person skilled in the art is able to adapt the embodiment of the station 100 to more than two thermal energy sources.
[0041] According to a preferred example, the first source 151 is the district heating network ("District Heating Network") comprising an inlet line La(T_DHN_a) transporting a fluid at a first temperature T_DHN_a, and a return line Lr(T_DHN_r) transporting a fluid at a second temperature T_DHN_r. According to one example, the fluid transported by the inlet lines La(T_DHN_a) and return lines Lr(T_DHN_r) is water. The inlet lines La(T_DHN_a) and return lines Lr(T_DHN_r) have a pressure difference denoted AP_DHN.
[0042] According to a preferred example, the second source 152 is a solar energy source, also called a solar field. An example of a source 152 is described in more detail in relation to [Fig. 2].
[0043] Other sources of thermal energy can be used here, and are within the reach of those skilled in the art, such as a source of recovery heat, or fatal, industrial heat, or a source formed by a rejection of heat from a refrigeration machine.
[0044] According to one embodiment, the station 100 is a bidirectional thermo-hydraulic station, which is particularly suitable for: - supplying thermal energy to a consumer from the first source 151 and / or the second source 152; and - reinjecting surplus thermal energy supplied by the first source 151, or the second source 152, into the other source, i.e. the second source 152 or the first source 151.
[0045] In the example illustrated in [Fig.l], the station 100 is particularly suitable for reinjecting surplus thermal energy supplied by the second source 152 into the first source 151.
[0046] For this, station 100 comprises: - a consumption unit 101 (Cons Unit); - a consumption controller 102 (Cons CMD); - a re-injection unit 103 (Re-injection unit); and - a re-injection controller 104 (Re-injection CMD).
[0047] The consumption unit 101 is directly connected to the consumer 120, and is adapted to supply it with thermal energy. For this, the consumption unit 101 is connected to the consumer 120 by a first channel supplying a fluid at a temperature Tcons,s, and by a second channel receiving said fluid from the consumer 120, this fluid generally no longer being at the temperature Tcons,s but at a temperature lower than the temperature Tcons,s. The consumption unit 101 is, in addition, connected to the reinjection unit 103 by a first channel allowing it to receive a fluid at a temperature Thot, and by a second channel allowing it to supply said used fluid at a temperature Tcold. The temperature Tcold is lower than or equal to the temperature Thot.
[0048] The consumption controller 102 is adapted to control the consumption unit 101. For this, the consumption controller 102 is adapted to receive measured data representative of the temperature Tcons,s from the consumption unit 101, and to provide, to the unit 101, a consumption command CMD-Cons. The nature and use of the CMD_Cons command are described in more detail in relation to [Fig.2].
[0049] The reinjection unit 103 is directly connected to the two thermal energy sources 151 and 152 and to the consumer unit, as described previously. The reinjection unit is adapted to use the thermal energy supplied by the second source 152 either to send it directly to the consumer, or to reinject it into the first source. This operation is described in more detail in relation to Figures 2 and 3.
[0050] Thus, the reinjection unit 103 is connected to the first source 151 by a first channel allowing it to receive the fluid at the temperature Thot, and by a second channel allowing it to supply the fluid at the temperature Tcold. The reinjection unit 103 is connected to the second source 152 by a first channel allowing it to receive a fluid at the temperature Tsol, and by a second channel allowing it to supply the used fluid at a temperature lower than or equal to the temperature Tsol.
[0051] The reinjection controller 104 is adapted to control the reinjection unit 103. For this, the reinjection controller is adapted to receive different data from the part of the consumption unit 101, the reinjection unit 102, the second source 152, and an outside temperature sensor (not shown in [Fig.l]). All these data will be detailed in relation to [Fig.l].
[0052] The reinjection controller 104 is adapted to provide, at output, a reinjection command CMD_Reinj representing, among other things, a setpoint temperature Treinj,sp. The reinjection controller 104 further comprises a calculator 104-1 (Cale) adapted to provide the value of the setpoint temperature Treinj,sp. The reinjection controller 104 and its calculator 104-1 are described in more detail in relation to FIGS. 2 and 3.
[0053] [Fig. 2] represents, schematically and, partially in the form of blocks, in more detail an exemplary embodiment of a station 200 of the type of the embodiment of thermo-hydraulic station 100 described in relation to [Fig. 1].
[0054] The thermo-hydraulic station 200, hereinafter called station 200, is, like the station 100 described in relation to [Fig.l], an interface for providing the consumer 120 (USER) with thermal energy from one or more thermal energy sources. The station 200 is adapted, more particularly, to receive energy from the first source 151 (DHN) and the second source 152 (Solar Field) described in relation to [Fig.l]. In addition, the station 200 is bidirectional, and therefore makes it possible to direct surplus thermal energy from one source to the other. The station 200 is adapted, more particularly, to reinject surplus thermal energy from the second source 152 to the first source 151 (DHN).
[0055] As described previously, the first source 151 may be the district heating network, and the second source 152 is a solar thermal energy source, or solar field 152.
[0056] The second source 152 comprises a fluid, for example water or glycol, which is heated using solar energy, for example using solar panels which are not shown in [Fig.2]. According to an exemplary embodiment, the second source 152 comprises: - a Pyl52 pyranometer; - a CNT 152 energy meter; - a P152 pump; and - a Vsoll52 valve.
[0057] The Pyl52 pyranometer is a sensor for measuring the sunlight captured by solar panels. In particular, the Pyl52 pyranometer is placed at the same angle as the solar panels. Sunshine is a measurement of surface electrical power, the unit of which is Watts per square meter.
[0058] The CNT152 energy meter allows the calculation of the power Qsol linked to the solar thermal energy collected by the solar panels. In other words, the meter CNT152 energy meter is adapted to calculate the power Qsol supplied by the source 152. The CNT152 meter is positioned before the channel supplying the fluid at temperature Tsol to the reinjection unit.
[0059] The pump P152 makes it possible to control the flow rate of the fluid used by the second source 152.
[0060] The Vsoll52 valve is optional, and is positioned on a channel upstream of the P152 pump. The Vsoll52 valve protects the source 152 against freezing during a start-up phase.
[0061] Like station 100, station 200 includes: - a consumption unit 201 (Cons Unit) of the type of consumption unit 101; - a consumption controller 202 (Cons CMD) of the type of consumption controller 102; - a re-injection unit 203 (Re-injection unit) of the type of re-injection unit 103; and - a re-injection controller 204 (Re-injection CMD) of the re-injection controller 204 type.
[0062] The consumption unit 201 comprises: - an E201 interchange; - a P201 pump; - a Vcons201 valve; and - a CNT201 energy meter.
[0063] The exchanger E201 is adapted to receive the fluid at the temperature Thot and to carry out the heat exchange with the consumer 120 to obtain the fluid at the temperature Tcons,s which is then supplied to the consumer.
[0064] Pump P201 is used to control the flow rate in exchanger E201.
[0065] The valve Vcons201 allows the quantity of fluid sent to the exchanger E201 to be adjusted. The valve Vcons201 is controlled by the consumption controller 202.
[0066] The energy meter CNT201 makes it possible to calculate the power Qcons linked to the thermal energy supplied to the consumer 120. The meter CNT152 is positioned before the channel supplying the fluid at the temperature Tcold to the reinjection unit 203.
[0067] As stated previously, the consumption controller 202 is adapted to control the consumption unit 202. For this, the consumption controller 202 is adapted to receive measured data representative of the temperature Tcons,s from the consumption unit 201, and to provide, to the unit 101, a consumption command CMD-Cons. The consumption command CMD-Cons makes it possible to control the valve Vcons201, and in particular to define its opening percentage.
[0068] The reinjection unit 203 comprises: - an E203 interchange; - a P203 pump; - a Vreinj203 valve; and - a VBP203 valve.
[0069] The exchanger E203 is adapted to receive the fluid at temperature Tsol from the source 152 and to carry out the heat exchange with the fluid at temperature Thot.
[0070] Pump P203 is used to control the flow rate in exchanger E203.
[0071] The Vreinj203 valve allows the quantity of fluid sent to the exchanger E203 to be adjusted. The Vreinj203 valve is controlled by the reinjection controller 204.
[0072] The VBP203 valve is optional, and makes it possible to manage the start-up and stop phases of the reinjection unit 203. The VBP203 valve is controlled by the reinjection controller 204. According to one example, the VBP203 valve makes it possible to ensure that the temperature Treinj at the outlet of the exchanger E203 is at the correct temperature before reinjecting it into the network, and this particularly during the start-up phases.
[0073] As stated previously, the reinjection controller 204 is adapted to control the reinjection unit 203. For this, the reinjection controller is adapted to receive different data from the consumption unit 201, the reinjection unit 202, from the second source 152, and from an outside temperature sensor (not shown in [Fig.l]) providing the outside temperature Text.
[0074] More particularly, the reinjection controller is adapted to receive, for example: - the measured value of the outside temperature Text; - the value measured by the sunshine by the Pyl52 pyranometer; - the measured value of the temperature Tsol; - the measured value of the temperature Tsol,r corresponding to the temperature of the fluid at the outlet of the exchanger E203; - the value measured by the CNT 152 meter; - the measured value of the Treinj temperature of the fluid at the outlet of the reinjection unit; - the value measured by the CNT201 meter; and - the opening status of the Vcons201 valve.
[0075] Furthermore, as stated previously, the reinjection controller 204 is adapted to provide, at output, a reinjection command CMD_Reinj representing, among other things, a setpoint temperature Treinj,sp. The reinjection controller 204 further comprises a computer 204-1 (Cale), of the type of computer 104-1, adapted to provide the value of the setpoint temperature Treinj,sp.
[0076] To calculate the value of the set temperature Treinj,sp, the calculator 204-1 uses, among other things, the following data: - the measured value of the outside temperature Text; - the value measured by the CNT 152 meter; - the value measured by the CNT201 meter; and - the opening status of the Vcons201 valve.
[0077] The operation of the reinjection controller 204 and the computer 204-1 are described in relation to [Fig.3].
[0078] [Fig.3] is a graph 301 representing the evolution of the set temperature Treinj,sp provided by the calculator 204-1 as a function of the evolution of the powers Qcons and Qsol.
[0079] More particularly, graph 301 represents the evolution in hysteresis of the set temperature Treinj,sp as a function of the evolution of the powers Qcons and Qsol, that is to say as a function of a power ratio given by the following mathematical formula: [Math 1] Qcons-Qsol Qcons
[0080] The general operation of station 200, and station 100, is as follows.
[0081] When source 152 is not producing energy, only source 151 is used for provide thermal energy to the consumer 120. The source 152 and the reinjection unit 203 are not used.
[0082] When the power Qcons consumed by the consumer 120 is greater than the power Qsol supplied by the source 152, the energy supplied by the source 152 is entirely intended to be used by the consumer 120. The source 151 is used to supplement the thermal energy supplied by the source 152 so that the station is capable of completely supplying the power Qcons. The two sources 151 and 152 are therefore used to supply thermal energy to the consumer 120. This is the self-consumption mode.
[0083] When the power Qcons consumed by the consumer 120 is less than the power Qsol supplied by the source 152. The energy supplied by the source 152 is no longer entirely intended to be used by the consumer 120, but is also intended to be reinjected into the source 151. The source 152 is therefore used to supply the power Qcons, but also to supply the rest of its power obtained to the source 151. This is the reinjection mode.
[0084] It is the reinjection controller 204 which controls the different operating modes. The computer 204-1 provides the set temperature at the outlet of the exchanger E203 according to these operating modes.
[0085] When the power Qsol becomes greater than a first power Ql, the tem set temperature Treinj,sp increases to be equal to a set temperature Tsp,DHN of the first source 151. This variation is signified by a point Al (Qsol=Ql) in [Fig.3].
[0086] When the power Qsol becomes lower than a second power Q2, the setpoint temperature Treinj,sp decreases to be equal to a setpoint temperature Tsp,autocons used during a self-consumption mode which is, generally, lower than the temperature Tsp,DHN. This variation is signified by a point A2 (Qsol=Q2) in [Fig.3].
[0087] The first power Q1 is, for example, defined as being a percentage of the consumed power Qcons. According to the example illustrated in [Fig.3], the first power Q1 is equal to ninety percent (90%) of the consumed power Qcons.
[0088] The second power Q2 is, for example, defined as being a percentage of the consumed power Qcons but a percentage lower than the percentage defining the first power Ql. According to the example illustrated in [Fig.3], the second power Q2 is equal to eighty-five percent (85%) of the consumed power Qcons.
[0089] Furthermore, it should be noted that the hysteresis evolution of the setpoint temperature Treinj,sp is located in the zone for which this power ratio defined previously is positive. This makes it possible to protect the network from reinjection with a reinjection temperature that is too low.
[0090] As for the set temperature Tsp,DHN, it can be defined in different ways.
[0091] According to a first embodiment, the temperature Tsp,DHN can be a fixed value.
[0092] According to a second embodiment, the temperature Tsp,DHN can be defined by an adapted water law taking into account the outside temperature and the temperature T_DHN_a. Here, the "adapted water law" is called the estimated water law of the heat network 151 at its production plant which takes into account the thermal losses between said production plant and the substation of interest 200. Indeed, to improve the lifespan of the channels, or pipes, transporting the fluid, it is interesting to have a temperature Tsp,DHN close to the temperature T_DHN_a.
[0093] According to a third embodiment, the temperature Tsp,DHN can be defined using an adaptive model representing the evolution of the temperature T_DHN_a. In particular, this adaptive model could be based on one or more algorithms, including, for example, an artificial intelligence algorithm, using as variables: - one or more measurements of the outside temperature Text; - one or more measurements of sunshine; - calendar information, such as day of the week, date, time, predefined calendar ranges, etc.
[0094] According to a fourth embodiment, the temperature Tsp,DHN can be defined using an adaptive model representing the evolution of the temperature T_DHN_a, and having a learning capacity. Like the third embodiment, in this one, the adaptive model could be based on one or more algorithms, including, for example, an artificial intelligence algorithm, using as variables: - one or more measurements of the outside temperature; - one or more measurements of sunshine; - calendar information, such as day of the week, date, time, predefined calendar ranges, etc.
[0095] In addition, a learning phase, or enrichment phase, of the adaptive model of the fourth embodiment could be carried out when the reinjection mode is the main mode of use, that is to say that the information on the temperature of the network is only very rarely collected, because the consumption mode is almost never activated. For this, the reinjection pump P203 is switched off, and the reinjection valve Vreinj203 opens, to circulate the fluid between the forward line La(T_DHN_a) and the return line Lr(T_DHN_r) of the source 151. Thus, the temperature Thot is indeed equal to the temperature T_DHN_a. This allows the learning model to collect data about the evolution of the temperature T_DHN_a. Such an implementation cannot be implemented over long periods, since the source 152 increases in temperature. However, this implementation can be implemented in different phases, for example during phases ranging from 1 second to 10 minutes. These phases are implemented at different times of the day to have a global vision of the range of variation of the network temperature.
[0096] According to a fifth embodiment, representing an improvement of the fourth embodiment, the VBP203 valve can be used to improve the model, and also during a learning phase.
[0097] According to a sixth embodiment, representing a further improvement of the fourth embodiment, it is also possible to use the reinjection valve Vreinj203 if the station 200 does not consume thermal energy from the source 152, while ensuring that the reinjection pump P203 accepts a flow of fluid in the opposite direction to normal operation. Such an implementation can be used to improve the model, and also during a learning phase.
[0098] According to a seventh embodiment, the adaptive model described above can also take into account data collected by another station 200, for example a station located in a relatively equivalent climate, such as a geographically close station.
[0099] As for the set temperature Tsp,autocons, it can be defined in different ways.
[0100] According to a first embodiment, the setpoint temperature Tsp,autocons is defined as a function of the opening state of the valve Vcons201. According to a preferred example, a controller, for example a closed-loop proportional integrator-derivative (PID) controller, makes it possible to control the opening of the valve Vcons201 to obtain, at the outlet of the station 200, the temperature Tcons,s close to the setpoint temperature. According to one example, the controller 204 is used to target an opening of the valve Vcons201 of the order of ninety percent (90%), thus ensuring that the demand is satisfied even for a reduced inlet temperature. For this, the setpoint temperature Tsp,autocons can vary between a minimum temperature Tsp,autocons_min and a maximum temperature Tsp,autocons_max. These temperatures are, for example, given by the following mathematical formulas: [Math 2] Tsp, autocons„min = Tsol_max - ATp, sol Tsp, autocons max_ T sol, r + —— AT p, sol in which: - Tsol_max represents the maximum temperature of the fluid supplied by source 152; - ATp,sol represents the estimated pinch of the E203 exchanger between the solar field and the bidirectional station, i.e. the temperature difference induced by the E203 exchanger; - Tsol,r represents the return temperature of the exchanger E203; - msol_max represents the maximum flow rate of the fluid from source 152; and - cp represents the heat capacity of the fluid circulating in the solar field.
[0101] According to a second embodiment, the set temperature Tsp,autocons can be defined using the same mathematical formula used to obtain the value of the set temperature Tcons,s as a function of the outside temperature.
[0102] According to a third embodiment, representing an improvement of the second embodiment, the setpoint temperature Tsp,autocons can be defined using the same mathematical formula used to obtain the value of the setpoint temperature Tcons,s as a function of the outside temperature, but using a correction value making it possible to model the temperature pinch of the exchanger E201. According to one example, this correction value is of the order of one to three degrees.
[0103] Figures 4 and 5 represent temperature measurements taken during a si operating model of station 200. More specifically, [Fig.4] represents a practical example of the evolution of the temperature Treinj,sp as a function of the ratio between the powers Qsol and Qcons defined in relation to [Fig.3]. [Fig.5] represents, for its part, the evolution of the different powers Qcons, Qsol and QDHN, and the evolution of the solar fraction, as a function of several operating modes.
[0104] More particularly, the three operating modes of the station 200 described previously are as follows: - mode A in which the source 152 does not produce energy, only the source 151 supplies the consumer 120; - mode B in which the consumer is powered by source 151 and source 152, source 152 producing energy but not enough to power consumer 120 alone; and - mode C in which the source 152 produces enough energy to supply the consumer 120, and reinjects the surplus energy into the source 151.
[0105] Thus, [Fig.4] illustrates the behavior described in relation to [Fig.3]. The hysteresis behavior is less visible in [Fig.4], because the temperatures Tsp,DHN and Tsp,autocons are likely to vary over time, for example, at least, as a function of the outside temperature Text and the set temperature Tcons,s.
[0106] [Fig.5] comprises two graphs. On the first graph, the top graph, are, more particularly, represented: - a curve 501 representing the evolution of the Qsol power supplied by the source 152; - a curve 502 representing the evolution of the power Qcons consumed by the consumer; and - a curve 503 representing the evolution of a QDHN power supplied by the source 151.
[0107] On the second graph, the bottom graph, are, more particularly, represented: - a curve 506 representing the evolution of the solar fraction, that is to say the ratio between the solar power received by the building and the total power consumed by the building, in a conventional bidirectional station, that is to say not using the embodiments described in relation to [Fig.3]; - a curve 507 representing the evolution of the solar fraction, that is to say the ratio between the solar power received by the building and the total power consumed by the building, in the station 200 described previously; - a curve 504 representing the evolution of the total solar fraction, i.e. the ratio between the solar power collected in the E203 exchange (sent to the building and reinjected into the network) and the total power consumed by the building, in a conventional two-way station, i.e. not using the embodiments described in relation to [Fig.3]; and - a curve 505 representing the evolution of the total solar fraction, that is to say the ratio between the solar power collected in the E203 exchange (sent to the building and reinjected into the network) and the total power consumed by the building, in the station 200 described previously.
[0108] The graphs in [Fig.5] indicate that the thermal energy harvested and then supplied by the source 152 is used in greater quantity.
