[0025] Figures 8 to 11 show one embodiment of a bracket coupling. of a coupling system in different states;
[0026] [Fig. 12] shows a bicycle comprising an assembly with an embodiment of a steering coupling according to Figures 1 to 7 and a bracket coupling according to Figures 8 to 11. Description of the embodiments
[0027] [Fig.l] shows one embodiment of a coupling system 1 for a bicycle or motorcycle frame 2, as shown in more detail in [Fig.7]. The bicycle or moped may have two, three, four or any other suitable number of wheels. It is also clear that alternative forms are possible where the bicycle or moped and / or its construction differ from the embodiments shown in this description. In the embodiment of [Fig.l], the coupling system 1 comprises a steering coupling 10. The steering coupling 10 is rotatably mounted on a portion of the steering frame 20 about the axis of rotation of the handlebar S when in use.
[0028] As can be seen, the steering coupling 10 comprises a steering tube 12 with a central longitudinal axis 12L along the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. It is clear that the steering tube 12 in this exemplary embodiment is made of an elongated cylindrical tube, for example a metal tube of a suitable metal such as steel, aluminum, etc. or any other suitable material. As shown in the embodiment of the steering coupling 10, the steering tube 12 is also equipped with a Clamp 14 mounted at the bottom of the steering tube 12. [Fig.l] shows the steering coupling 10 in a clamped state. This means a state in which a fork steering tube 30 mounted in the Clamp 14 is fixed around its cylindrical contour by the Clamp 14.As will be specified later, for example in Figures 3 and 4, the steering coupling 10 is also configured to, in the open state, no longer subject the fork steering tube 30 mounted in the clamp 14 to a clamping force from the clamp 14. According to the example shown, the fork steering tube 30 is also an elongated cylindrical tube, for example a metal tube of a suitable metal such as steel, aluminum, etc. or any other suitable material.
[0029] As seen in [Fig.l], it is clear that the central longitudinal axis 12L of the steering tube 12 coincides with the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. Furthermore, it is also clear that the central longitudinal axis 30L of the fork steering tube 30, in the clamped state, coincides with the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. In this clamped state, the fork steering tube 30 therefore rotates with the steering tube 12 about the axis of rotation of the handlebar S, for example under the effect of a steering movement of a handlebar mounted on the steering tube by a stem. Thus, in the coupled state, the rotational movement about the axis of rotation of the handlebar S of the handlebar can be transferred by the steering coupling 10 to the fork steering tube 30 to steer a wheel mounted between the branches of the fork 32 and change the direction of the bicycle.
[0030] It is clear that, in the clamped state, as shown in [Fig.l], the clamping force exerted by the Clamp 14 on the outer contour of the fork steering tube 30 contains at least one component transverse to the direction of the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. In other words, the clamping force of the Clamp contains at least one component directed towards the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. In other words, the clamping force directed towards the inside of the Clamp 14 ensures that the Clamp 14 is fixed on the outer surface of the steering tube 12.
[0031] As seen in [Fig.l], the clamp 14 is configured such that the circular contour around the handlebar rotation axis S of the fork steering tube 30, in the clamped state, is completely surrounded by the clamp 14. In other words, the fork steering tube 30, which is preferably made of a one-piece elongated tubular element, is preferably completely surrounded on its outer side by the clamp 14 as shown. However, it is clear that alternative versions are possible, where, in the clamped state, the fork steering tube 30 is surrounded by the clamp 14 over more than half of the circular contour, preferably from 80% to 100% of the circular contour.
[0032] As shown, for example, in [Fig. 3], the clamp 14 is configured such that the circular contour around the handlebar rotation axis S of the fork steering tube 30, in the open state, is no longer surrounded by the clamp 14 over slightly more than half of the circular contour. However, it is clear that alternative shapes are possible, where, in the open state, the fork steering tube 30 is not surrounded by the clamp 14 over half or more of the circular contour, preferably from 50% to 80% of the circular contour.
[0033] It is clear that, according to the example embodiment shown, the fork steering tube 30 has a circular circumference, and that the contact surfaces of the clamp 14 which connect to the fork steering tube 30 form, in the clamped state, an adaptation circle. A section along the line VV, in the clamped state, is illustrated for example in [Fig. 5]. It is however obvious that alternative variants are possible, where the elongated and tubular fork steering tube 30 can have any other suitable shape for the circumference, such as for example elliptical, square, hexagonal, or any other polygonal shape or circumference with suitable straight and curved elements.
[0034] According to the exemplary embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 6, the clamp 14 comprises a fixed portion 16 which is securely attached to the head tube 12. In addition, the clamp 14 comprises a movable clamping portion 18 which is movably mounted relative to the fixed portion 16. According to the exemplary embodiment 8. The fixed portion 16 surrounds, in the clamped state, half or less of the circular circumference of the fork head tube 30. As illustrated in [Fig. 5], it is clear that slightly less than half is surrounded, allowing good guidance of the fork head tube 30 when inserted into the open clamp 14 as shown in [Fig. 6]. In this way, the clamp 14 positions itself automatically. It is obvious that alternative variants are possible, where preferably 50% to 20% of the circular circumference of the fork head tube 30 is surrounded by the fixed part 16 in the clamped state..
[0035] As shown in the following, the example shown of the clamp 14 comprises a movable clamping part 18, which in the open state as shown in [Fig. 6], does not surround half or more of the circular circumference of the fork steering tube 30. This allows the fork steering tube 30 to be inserted into the clamp 14 in a simple and efficient manner. It is clear that here too alternative variants are possible where the movable clamping part 18, preferably 50% to 80% of the circular circumference of the fork steering tube 30, does not surround in the open state.
[0036] As seen in Figures 1 to 6, the movable clamping part 18 is hinged to the fixed part 16 about a hinge axis P parallel to the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. It is clear that alternative variants are possible where the movable clamping part 18 is movable and / or removable relative to the fixed part 16 to open the clamp 14 in the open state and to tighten the clamp 14 in the tightened state.
[0037] As seen in Figures 1 to 4, the example of the clamp 14 comprises a quick tensioner 17. The quick tensioner 17 is mounted on the fixed part 16 and can be removably connected to the movable clamping part 18. In the clamped state, as shown in [Fig.l], the quick tensioner 17 exerts a clamping force on the movable clamping part 18. In the open state, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, the quick tensioner 17 releases the movable clamping part 18 for rotation about the hinge axis P. It is clear that the quick tensioner 17 is an element known to professionals in the field of bicycles and motorcycles which can generate a clamping force transverse to the axis of rotation of the lever thanks to a lever with an eccentric element. However, it is clear that alternative variants are possible, where any other suitable clamping element can be used to selectively apply a clamping force in the clamped state of the clamping collar 14 and to open the clamping collar 14 in the open state where the clamping force is no longer present.
[0038] The opening of the example of the clamp 14 shown in Figures 1 to 6 is as follows. As shown in [Fig. 2], the clamping force present in the clamped state in [Fig. 1] is first removed by the opening of the quick tensioner 17. The opening of the quick tensioner 17 then also allows the movable clamping part 18 to be inclined outwardly as shown in [Fig. 3].
[0039] Then, the fork steering tube 30, as shown in [Fig. 4], can be removed from the clamp 14 through the opening that is formed in the side wall of the clamp 14 by the opening of the movable clamping part 18. The open state of the clamp 14 allows this in a direction of movement with a component perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the handlebar S, as indicated by the arrow in [Fig. 4].
[0040] According to a preferred optional variant, the head steering coupling 10 comprises a locking element 40 configured to, when the fork steering tube 30 is inserted into the clamp 14 and aligned with the axis of rotation of the handlebar S, in the open state, or in other words, the position as shown in [Fig. 3], block the movement of the fork steering tube 30 in the direction of the direction of rotation of the handlebar S. In other words, according to the exemplary embodiment shown, an upward and / or downward movement of the fork steering tube 30 is prevented as long as the longitudinal central axis 30L of the fork steering tube 30 is aligned with the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. As shown in [Fig. 7], which represents a view according to arrow 7 in [Fig.3], such a locking element 40 may for example comprise a boss 42 which is fixed on the inner surface of the clamp 14 and which extends towards the fork steering tube 30 in the clamped state. In other words, an inwardly facing boss 42 on the inner surface of the clamp 14. Such an embodiment of the locking element 40 also comprises a notch or opening 44 on the outer contour of the fork steering tube 30. This notch or opening 44 is formed in such a way that the boss 42 of the clamp 14 enters this notch when the fork steering tube 30 is inserted into the clamp 14 and aligned with the axis of rotation of the handlebar S. According to the example shown, the locking element 40 is configured in such a way as to have a self-positioning effect when inserting and / or clamping the fork steering tube 30 in the clamp 14.According to the exemplary embodiment shown, this is achieved by a conically shaped boss 42 which cooperates with the opening 44 upon insertion to position the fork steerer tube 30 in the desired position and orientation when the longitudinal central axis of the fork steerer tube 30 aligns with the axis of rotation of the handlebar S upon insertion and clamping of the fork steerer tube 30 in the clamp 14, with ultimately the opening 44 of the fork steerer tube 30 resting against the base of the conically shaped protrusion 42. However, it is clear that alternative embodiments are possible where such a locking element 40 with a self-positioning effect is used. It is also clear that alternative embodiments are possible where the clamp 14 comprises two or more similar locking elements 40.
[0041] This locking element is advantageous because it supports the clamping collar 14 in the clamped state by preventing any movement along the central axis 14L. In such a configuration, the clamping collar 14 must only or mainly support transverse forces or rotational forces about the axis of rotation of the direction S.
[0042] Furthermore, such a locking element 40 allows movement of the steering tube 30 in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the steering S, and helps to maintain the correct position and orientation of the steering tube 30 each time. when inserted into the clamp 14. For example, this ensures that the front wheel remains properly aligned with the handlebars of the bicycle or moped. In other words, the locking element 40 has a self-positioning function. It is, however, obvious that variant embodiments are possible where such a locking element 40 with a self-positioning function is installed. It is also clear that configurations are possible in which the clamp 14 contains two or more of these locking elements 40.
[0043] It is clear that other variants of execution of the clamp 14 are possible. For example, it is possible to have two or more movable clamping parts 18 at different positions along the longitudinal central axis 14L, which can for example each cooperate separately with a fixed part 16 by means of a quick tensioner 17 to clamp the fork steering tube 3 in a releasable manner as described above.
[0044] According to another exemplary embodiment shown in Figures 8 to 11, the coupling system 10 also comprises a bracket coupling 50 for connecting a front module 3 to the bicycle frame 2 at the bracket 6. An example of such a front module 3 is shown in [Fig. 12]. The front module 3 comprises a front module frame 4 to which the bracket coupling 50 and a steered front fork 5 are attached. However, it is clear that alternative embodiments of the front module 3 are possible, such as a front module 3 for a cargo bicycle, a tandem, etc., where the front module 3 is connected to a bicycle frame 2 by means of the bracket coupling 50 and the steering coupling 10 as shown in [Fig. 12]. It is also clear that a bicycle frame can be equipped with a fork for a front wheel as shown in [Fig.l].In this way, a modular bicycle frame can be manufactured, which can be combined as required with a fork for a front wheel and / or a front module for e.g. a cargo bike, tandem, etc., or any other suitable bicycle or motorcycle configuration.
[0045] According to the exemplary embodiment shown in Figures 8 to 11, the bracket coupling 50 comprises a fixed part 52 fixed to the front module frame 4. Furthermore, the bracket coupling comprises a movable clamping part 54 mounted on the fixed part 52 by pivoting. In addition, a clamping element 56 is provided, preferably a quick-release tensioner similar to the quick-release tensioner 17. In the clamped state, as seen in [Fig. 8], the clamping element 56 is configured to clamp the front module part 60 between the fixed part 52 and the movable clamping part 54. In the open state, as shown in Figures 9 and 10, the clamping element 56 is configured to release the front module part 60 through the movable clamping part 54 with a tilting movement relative to the fixed part 52. Then, as shown in [Fig. 11], the front module part 60 can be tilted out of the fixed part 52.
[0046] According to the exemplary embodiment shown in Figures 8 to 11, the front module coupling part 60, the fixed part 50 and / or the movable clamping part 54 are configured so as to have a self-positioning effect upon insertion and / or clamping of the front module coupling part 60 between the fixed part 50 and the movable clamping part 54. This is achieved according to this exemplary embodiment by the hook shape of the fixed part 50 with an upwardly oriented V-shape, in which a transverse pin of the front module part 60 can be tilted from above, for example from a position shown in [Fig.l 1], to reach a clearly defined position as illustrated in [Fig. 10].It is clear that the farthest end of the upwardly oriented hook shape is dimensioned such that it fits between two side plates of the front module part 60 during this coupling movement, also reaching the desired position in a transverse direction as shown in [Fig. 10]. Then, a second, higher positioned transverse pin or axis of the front module part 60 can swing against the base of the hook shape as shown in [Fig. 10], after which the movable clamping part 54 with its downwardly oriented hooks can be tilted around this pin as shown in [Fig.9], thus ensuring the position in the vertical and transverse directions. Finally, the clamping is carried out by the quick tensioner 56 as shown in [Fig. 10].
[0047] It is therefore clear that the connection and decoupling of the steering coupling 10 and / or the coupling by supports 50 of the coupling system 1 can be carried out in a simple, efficient and reliable manner.
[0048] A bicycle or motorcycle with a frame equipped with such a coupling system 1 can therefore be easily connected to different modular elements. Such an assembly comprises, for example, a frame 2 of a bicycle or motorcycle with one or more of the above-described embodiments of the coupling system 1 and furthermore one or more of the following elements: - a fork with at least one arm for securing a wheel axle, to which the fork steering tube 30 is secured, as shown in [Fig.l]; - a front module 3 comprising a front module frame 4 to which the fork steering tube 30 is fixed; - a front module 3 comprising a front module frame 4 to which the fork steering tube 30 is rotatably mounted about its longitudinal central axis 30L; - a front module 3 comprising a front module frame 4 to which a steered front fork 5 is attached; a front module 3 comprising a front module frame 4 to which: • the fork steering tube 30 is rotatably mounted about its longitudinal central axis 30L; and • a steered front fork 5 is attached, the steered front fork 5 of the front module 3 being connected to the fork steering tube 30 by a steering rod, as shown in Figure 12.
