Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: METAL PLATE CONFIGURED TO ENSURE THE SEALING OF AN ENGINE COMPRISING A DYNAMIC SEAL PROVIDED WITH AT LEAST ONE MAGNETIC STOP SEGMENT
[0001] The invention relates to motor vehicle engines, and more particularly to the sealing of these engines.
[0002] A patent application EP3208454 is known from the prior art, which describes a sealed flange for a crankshaft. The flange comprises a support and a dynamic seal. The flange is partially or entirely made of a plastic material. The support comprises a passage comprising an inner wall. Furthermore, said dynamic seal comprises a rotation speed and position sensor for said crankshaft. The sensor comprises an electronic assembly. The support is entirely made of plastic by an injection molding process. The sensor or its electronic assembly is integrated into the plastic material of the support during the injection molding process. However, disadvantages remain. Indeed, the plastic material becomes rigid after the support is overmolded. The crankshaft is intended to undergo rotational movements whose centripetal force risks causing the said flange to detach, due to its rigidity, which then creates a risk of oil entering the said crankshaft. Impurities can also enter the said crankshaft, such as dust for example.
[0003] The objective of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a means ensuring the fixing of said dynamic seal around said crankshaft despite the centripetal force exerted by the rotational movements.
[0004] To achieve this objective, the invention proposes a metal plate configured to ensure sealing between a cylinder block and an oil pan of a heat engine, said heat engine comprising a crankshaft, said crankshaft comprising a shaft having a first longitudinal direction, a second transverse direction orthogonal to the first direction and a third vertical direction orthogonal to the first direction and to the second direction, said plate being intended to be arranged perpendicular to the shaft in the first direction, said plate comprising a static seal and an opening intended to receive said shaft, said opening comprising a dynamic seal, characterized in that said plate comprises a lateral part and a central part, said lateral part forming a plane, said central part forming a relief relative to the plane in the first direction and said dynamic joint being maintained by at least one stop segment, magnetic.
[0005] Thanks to the invention, the dynamic seal is firmly held by said magnetic stop segment due to its attraction with said plate. The sealing of said engine is improved.
[0006] Preferably, said central part has an S-shaped section.
[0007] Thus, said central part forms a hollow allowing the arrangement of the static seal and the dynamic seal.
[0008] Advantageously, said static seal and said dynamic seal comprise a polymer material.
[0009] Engine oil is not abrasive to the polymer material, thus extending the life of said static seal and said dynamic seal.
[0010] Advantageously, said static seal comprises a polytetrafluoroethylene material.
[0011] Polytetrafluoroethylene is resistant to abrasive substances and has a very low coefficient of friction. The service life of the static seal is therefore improved.
[0012] Advantageously, said dynamic seal comprises an ethylene acrylic rubber material.
[0013] Ethylene acrylic rubber is oil resistant, which prevents its deterioration in the event of an oil leak in a motor vehicle engine.
[0014] Preferably, said plate is made of stainless steel.
[0015] Stainless steel is very resistant to corrosion. Thus the plate does not deteriorate when it comes into contact with oil.
[0016] Advantageously, said dynamic seal comprises at least 2 stop segments, preferably 4 stop segments, more preferably 5 stop segments.
[0017] Thus, the contact between said plate and said shaft is improved due to greater electromagnetic attraction.
[0018] Furthermore, the invention relates to an engine of a motor vehicle comprising said plate previously described, said plate being arranged between said cylinder block and said oil pan.
[0019] Advantageously, said plate is fixed to said cylinder housing by at least two fixing screws.
[0020] Furthermore, the invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising an engine as previously described.
[0021] The invention will be further detailed by the description of non-limiting embodiments, and on the basis of the appended figures illustrating variants of the invention, in which: - [Fig.l] schematically illustrates a crankshaft comprising a plate according to an embodiment of the present invention; - [Fig.2] schematically illustrates a section along an axial plane of a end of the crankshaft on which said plate is arranged; - [Fig.3] schematically illustrates a detailed view of the section of said plate as illustrated in [Fig.2].
[0022] [Fig.l] schematically illustrates a crankshaft 1 comprising a shaft 1a. The shaft 1b has a first longitudinal direction X, a second transverse direction Y orthogonal to the first direction X and a third vertical direction Z orthogonal to the first direction X and to the second direction Y. The crankshaft 1 is an essential element of the connecting rod-crank system present in motor vehicle engines. The crankshaft 1 allows the transformation of a rectilinear movement, caused by a piston-connecting rod device, into a rotational movement. A plate is arranged perpendicularly on said crankshaft 1 in the first longitudinal direction X. The plate comprises a metallic material, preferably stainless steel. Stainless steel is an alloy of steel and chromium. It is a particularly interesting material for a heat engine because it is resistant to heat and abrasive substances. Its lifespan is therefore more interesting than a conventional steel material. The plate comprises a lateral part 2a and a central part 2b. The lateral part forms a YZ plane. The plate comprises a static seal 3. The plate comprises an opening intended to receive said shaft 1a. In [Fig.l], said shaft 1a is inserted into said opening. The opening comprises a dynamic seal 4. Advantageously, the static seal 3 and the dynamic seal 4 comprise a polymer material. Polymer materials are inexpensive and resistant to the oil of a motor vehicle thermal engine. Preferably, said static seal 3 comprises a polytetrafluoroethylene material. Polytetrafluoroethylene is a thermoplastic particularly resistant to abrasive substances. In addition, the coefficient of friction of this material is very low.In addition, polytetrafluoroethylene is stable up to a temperature of 327 degrees Celsius, which makes it interesting for its implementation within a heat engine. Preferably, said dynamic seal 4 comprises an ethylene acrylic rubber material. The ethylene acrylic rubber is oil resistant, which prevents its deterioration in the event of an oil leak in a heat engine of a motor vehicle. The dynamic seal 4 comprises at least one stop segment 5. The dynamic seal 4 is located between said plate and said stop segment 5, thus it is firmly held.
[0023] [Fig.2] and [Fig.3] schematically illustrate a section along the first longitudinal direction X of one end of the shaft 1a on which said plate is arranged. The central portion 2b forms a relief relative to the plane YZ along the first direction X. In other words, the central portion 2b forms a hollow in said plate. Preferably, the central portion 2b has a sigmoidal section, i.e. S-shaped, allowing the formation of the previously mentioned hollow. The dynamic seal 4 ensures the seal between a cylinder block and an oil pan of a motor vehicle thermal engine. The cylinder block, also called the engine block, is a metal part that protects the connecting rod-crank system in particular. The oil pan is usually positioned below, in the lower part of the motor vehicle thermal engine. The oil pan contains the engine oil allowing the lubrication of the various parts constituting said thermal engine. To prevent the dynamic seal 4 from moving during rotational movements undergone by the shaft 1a, at least one magnetized stop segment 5 is arranged in said dynamic seal 4. An electromagnetic attraction is created due to the presence of said stop segment 5. Advantageously, the dynamic seal 4 comprises at least 2 stop segments, preferably 4 stop segments.Even more preferably, and as illustrated in Figures 2 and 3, said dynamic seal 4 comprises 5 stop segments. Thus, the connection between said dynamic seal 4 and said shaft 1a is solidified due to a stronger electromagnetic attraction. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle heat engine comprising said aforementioned plate. The plate is arranged between said cylinder block and said oil pan in order to prevent the entry of oil or impurities into said heat engine. When the heat engine is actuated, the crankshaft 1 undergoes a rotational movement generating a centripetal force. The crankshaft 1 is then lubricated. Indeed, an oil film is created to lubricate the friction of the stop segment 5 on said shaft 1a.When said heat engine is switched off, the oil film fades and the magnetized stop segments 5, due to the electromagnetic force, remain in contact with said shaft 1a. Preferably, said plate is fixed to said cylinder block by at least two fixing screws. Furthermore, the invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising such a heat engine.
