Description

Title of the invention: Self-supporting portico serving as balconies Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of construction and more particularly to the field of renovation and improvement of buildings.

[0002] One of the objectives of the present invention is to provide construction industry stakeholders with a simple and easy-to-install solution for improving existing buildings by integrating an exterior (a balcony) without touching the facade in order to avoid any thermal bridge and any degradation of the facade.

[0003] Thus, the present invention will find numerous advantageous applications in the field of construction, in particular for lessors and managers of buildings without balconies.

[0004] Obviously, the present invention will also find other advantageous applications for architects and builders who want to offer a balcony. The present invention will also find advantageous applications for trustees who want to enhance the value of a co-ownership. Prior art

[0005] Warming temperatures have become a phenomenon that is difficult to control, becoming widespread and lasting. Summers are becoming increasingly difficult to bear, especially in large cities.

[0006] Lifestyles are also changing with the widespread use of teleworking, which means people are staying at home more often during the day.

[0007] For at least these reasons, people increasingly feel the need to have an outside space in their homes.

[0008] Having accommodation with a balcony or terrace remains a privilege.

[0009] It should also be noted that so-called social housing very rarely has such a balcony.

[0010] This observation remains true for all other residential buildings.

[0011] We therefore understand that there is a real desire on the part of those involved in the construction industry to propose solutions aimed at improving the quality of residential housing by providing an exterior for each dwelling.

[0012] The Applicant observes that to date, existing solutions are not suitable and remain very costly.

[0013] The techniques deployed to date only provide for the fixing of the balcony directly onto the facade of the accommodation, which systematically leads to damage to the facade which can alter the strength of the building and create a thermal bridge.

[0014] The solutions of the prior art are therefore not fully satisfactory. Summary of the invention

[0015] The present invention aims to improve the situation described above.

[0016] The present invention aims in particular to remedy at least one of the different technical problems mentioned above by proposing a self-supporting solution that is structurally independent of the building and offers the possibility of creating a balcony for each dwelling in a multi-story building.

[0017] The object of the present invention thus relates, according to a first aspect, to a self-supporting gantry for a building.

[0018] According to the present invention, such a building comprises at least one floor and has a facade without a balcony provided with at least one opening of the window or French window type.

[0019] Advantageously, the portico is intended to be erected adjacent to the facade.

[0020] It will be understood here that the portico is positioned in front of the facade without being in contact direct with the facade.

[0021] The portico and the building therefore remain structurally independent of each other.

[0022] Advantageously, the gantry is in the form of a metal structure comprising:

[0023] - at least two vertical posts; and - at least one horizontal platform comprising on its peripheral periphery an adjacent edge.

[0024] According to the present invention, the at least two posts and the platform are integral with each other and are arranged relative to each other so that, when the portico is erected adjacent to the facade, the adjacent edge of the platform comes opposite a floor of the at least one story so that the platform extends substantially in the plane of the floor of the at least one story and forms an external balcony opening onto the opening while remaining offset from the facade.

[0025] Such a design allows for a portico that is structurally independent of the building, which offers the possibility of creating as many balconies as there are platforms.

[0026] Such a design also avoids thermal bridges.

[0027] Advantageously, the adjacent edge of the platform has a shape complementary to the shape of the facade.

[0028] It will be understood here that the adjacent edge may have a rectilinear shape to adapt to a flat facade.

[0029] The adjacent edge may alternatively have a shape with curves to best adapt to the shape of the facade when, for example, the latter has a architectural interest.

[0030] Advantageously, the posts are fixed to the platform at the end portions of the adjacent edge of the platform.

[0031] Advantageously, the posts are sized to withstand load descents.

[0032] It is thus planned to dimension the posts according to several parameters including in particular the number of floors, the weight of the gantry, the distance between the posts, etc.

[0033] Preferably, each post has an H-shaped, square or rectangular cross-section.

[0034] Such a configuration reinforces the mechanical resistance and solidity of the structure.

[0035] Advantageously, the gantry according to the present invention comprises anchoring plates in the lower part of the posts for anchoring the posts in a concrete-type foundation block.

[0036] Advantageously, the gantry according to the present invention comprises a guardrail extending vertically from the outer edges of the peripheral perimeter of the at least one platform; by outer edge, here is meant the edges of the peripheral perimeter with the exception of the adjacent edge (the adjacent edge being opposite the opening when the gantry is erected in front of the facade).

[0037] Advantageously, the gantry according to the present invention comprises haunch-type reinforcement elements between each post and said at least one platform.

[0038] Correlatively, the object of the present invention relates, according to a second aspect, to an installation which comprises: - a building comprising at least one floor and having a facade provided with at least one opening of the window or French window type;

[0039] - a concrete-type foundation block placed at the foot of the facade below at least one opening; and

[0040] - a self-supporting gantry erected adjacent to the facade, the gantry being fixed to the soil in the foundation mass.

[0041] The subject of the present invention finally relates, according to a third aspect, to a method of renovating a building comprising at least one floor and having a facade without a balcony provided with at least one opening of the window or French window type.

[0042] According to the invention, the method comprises a step of providing a balcony during which a portico according to the first aspect described above is erected adjacent to the facade, said portico comprising at least two posts and a horizontal platform, so that the adjacent edge of the platform comes opposite a floor of the at least one story of the building so that the platform extends substantially in the plane of the floor of the at least one story and forms an external balcony. leading to the opening while remaining offset from the facade.

[0043] Advantageously, the at least two posts are fixed in a concrete-type foundation block provided at the foot of the facade below the at least one opening.

[0044] Thus, by its various functional and structural technical characteristics described above, we have a portico, easy to install, which is structurally independent of the building and which is erected adjacent to the facade of the building to constitute exterior balconies at the level of each dwelling.

[0045] Brief description of the attached figures

[0046] Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge from the description below, with reference to the appended figures which illustrate several examples of embodiment thereof without any limiting character and in which:

[0053] [Fig.4]

[0054] [Fig.4] represents a schematic perspective view of an installation in accordance with [Fig.l]. Detailed description

[0055] A gantry according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention as well as the installation associated therewith will now be described in what follows with joint reference to Figures 1 to 4.

[0056] To provide a balcony to a residential dwelling which does not have one, techniques are currently available whose principle is based on attaching the balcony to the supporting structure of the building.

[0057] These techniques require perforation of the facade, which damages it and alters its robustness.

[0058] In addition, these techniques involving perforation of the facade create a thermal bridge between the facade and the building.

[0059] Finally, these techniques are often very expensive.

[0060] For at least these reasons, it remains difficult today to add balconies to existing buildings.

[0061] An objective of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to offer the possibility of creating balconies at low cost on dwellings which do not have them.

[0062] This objective is achieved in the following description.

[0063] In the example described here, we have a BAT building which has a FAC facade and two floors R+1 and R+2.

[0064] In this example, each floor R+1 and R+2 corresponds to a residential dwelling.

[0065] Obviously, this is one example among others possible: the BAT building can also include, according to other variants, three, four or even five floors for example.

[0066] In the context of the present invention, the BAT building already has OUV openings in the FAC facade, for example a window. It will be understood here that these OUV openings can also be made in the FAC facade as part of the renovation undertaken on the BAT building. It will then be necessary to plan the work to open the facade upstream of the construction site.

[0067] In the example described here and illustrated in Figures 1 to 4, the operators in charge of the renovation of the BAT building have a gantry 100 at their disposal.

[0068] Such a gantry 100 is characteristic of the present invention.

[0069] In this example, the gantry 100 is in the form of a metal structure.

[0070] Such a gantry 100 can be produced and assembled in a workshop; such a gantry 100 can also be delivered in kit form and assembled on site by the operators.

[0071] As indicated above, the concept underlying the present invention is to erect the portico 100 adjacent to the FAC facade of the BAT building.

[0072] In this example, the operators will therefore position the gantry 100 in front of the FAC facade to design balconies, all without the gantry 100 and the FAC facade being in contact.

[0073] It is therefore understood that the gantry 100 is structurally independent of the BAT building.

[0074] In other words, the gantry 100 is positioned offset from the BAT building at a determined separation distance; this avoids any thermal bridge between the BAT building and the gantry 100.

[0075] In the example described here, the gantry 100 comprises two vertical posts 10.

[0076] It will be understood that the gantry 100 can comprise four posts 10, or even more.

[0077] In this example, the two posts 10 will come along the facade at a distance of determined separation.

[0078] In the example described here, the posts 10 each have an H-shaped cross-section. Such a configuration allows good mechanical robustness of the posts; other configurations can be envisaged.

[0079] In the example described here, the posts 10 are securely anchored to the ground in the MDF foundation block by means of anchoring plates (not shown here).

[0080] In the example described here, the foundation block is a concrete slab placed at the foot of the FAC facade below the OUV openings.

[0081] In this example, it is the operators who will pour this slab.

[0082] It can also be predicted that this slab already exists.

[0083] Such a gantry 100 is self-supporting.

[0084] The objective of the present invention is to design balconies using this self-supporting gantry 100.

[0085] The gantry 100 therefore comprises a stepped structure with a horizontal platform 20 for each floor.

[0086] It is this platform 20 which will constitute the balcony.

[0087] The platform 20 can therefore have a rectangular shape, but it can obviously have other shapes.

[0088] In this example, the platform 20 comprises on its peripheral periphery an adjacent edge 20a. This lateral edge 20a is intended to be opposite the facade FAC.

[0089] It is therefore understood that this edge 20a can be rectilinear when the facade is flat.

[0090] If the FAC facade has a particular shape (curve or other), an adjacent edge 20a is provided whose shape will be complementary to the shape of the FAC facade so as to match the contour of the latter when the adjacent edge 20a is opposite the FAC facade.

[0091] As indicated previously, when the operators erect the gantry 100 adjacent to the facade FAC, the adjacent edge 20a of the platform 20 will come opposite the floor of the floor R+1 or R+2 which is associated with it.

[0092] Thus, this platform 20 will extend in the plane PR+i or PR+2 of the floor of the R+l or R+2 floor and thus form the exterior balcony of this floor.

[0093] It will be noted here that the dimensioning of the posts 10 is determined in the design office in particular as a function of the number of floors, the surface area of the platform, the weight of the platform, etc. in order to withstand load descents.

[0094] In order to reinforce the structure, reinforcement elements 40 of the haunch type are provided between each post 10 and each platform 20.

[0095] For safety, it is also provided to equip each platform 30 with a guardrail 30. Here, this guardrail 30 extends vertically from the outer edges 20b of the peripheral perimeter 20b of the platform 20 (see in particular [Fig.3]).

[0096] The present invention will thus propose a multi-level metal structure which is self-supporting and allows an innovative renovation process, one of the particularities of which is to remain structurally independent of the building and not to be fixed to the facade. in particular to avoid any thermal bridge, any rising damp and any damage to the facade.

[0097] Such a gantry will be fixed on site below the building in a concrete slab pre-dimensioned in the design office, in particular depending on the height of the building and the gantry and the associated load drops.

[0098] It should be noted here that, for the moment, it is envisaged to carry out such renovations using the portico on buildings up to five stories high.

[0099] Finally, it should be noted here that the gantry according to the invention can be dismantled; this will allow, for example, the carrying out of insulation work from the outside.

[0100] Such a structure can for example be unbolted from below and then raised and moved using a telescopic crane.

[0101] The object of the present invention thus provides construction industry stakeholders with a simple solution for designing balconies on existing buildings and thus meeting a growing demand from owners, tenants and managers.

[0102] It should be noted that this detailed description relates to a particular embodiment of the present invention, but that in no case does this description have any limiting character with respect to the subject of the invention; on the contrary, its objective is to remove any possible imprecision or misinterpretation of the claims which follow.

[0103] It should also be noted that the reference signs placed in parentheses in the following claims are in no way limiting; these signs have the sole purpose of improving the intelligibility and understanding of the following claims as well as the scope of the protection sought.
