Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: OXIDIZING COMPOSITION FOR DYEING AND / OR LIGHTENING KERATIN FIBERS, METHODS AND USE THEREOF FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present disclosure relates, in general, to cosmetic products and, more particularly, to compositions for dyeing and / or lightening keratin fibers. The present disclosure further relates to a method and kits for dyeing and / or lightening keratin fibers. CONTEXT OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Oxidizing compositions are used in cosmetics for the purpose of coloring, bleaching and permanent remodeling of keratin fibers, such as hair.
[0003] When used for dyeing keratin fibers, oxidizing compositions are commonly used for oxidative dyeing and direct dyeing. In oxidative dyeing, oxidizing compositions are mixed with oxidation dyes (bases and couplers), which are inherently colorless, to produce colored and coloring compounds by an oxidative condensation process. In direct dyeing processes, oxidizing compositions are used with direct dyes, which are colored and coloring substances, to obtain a coloring with a lightening effect on the hair.
[0004] Oxidizing compositions may also be used to bleach keratin fibers, such as hair. In bleaching reactions, the oxidizing compositions may be used alone and applied to the keratin fibers to bleach the hair. They may also be used in combination with compositions comprising peroxygen salts, such as persulfates, when the oxidizing composition is based on hydrogen peroxide.
[0005] Permanent remodeling of keratin fibers involves opening the keratin (cystine) SS-disulfide bonds using a composition containing a suitable reducing agent (reduction step). After rinsing the treated fibers, the disulfide bonds are reconstituted, which requires that the fibers are first put under tension (stretchers and the like), then an oxidizing composition (oxidation step, also called fixing step) is applied to finally give the hair the desired shape. This technique thus makes it possible, without preference, either to make the hair wavy, or to relax or detangle it. The new shape given to the hair by a chemical treatment such as the one above is eminently long-lasting and particularly resistant to washing with water or shampoos, as opposed to simple classic temporary remodeling techniques, such as hair styling.
[0006] The oxidizing compositions usually used for dyeing (oxidative dyeing or direct dyeing), bleaching or permanent remodeling of keratin fibers are of poor quality in terms of cosmetic performance. In particular, with regard to dyeing, the oxidizing compositions currently used do not have good dyeing and lightening effects, have poor color absorption and poor chromaticity. There is therefore a need for oxidizing compositions leading to good coloring or lightening properties, in particular in terms of intensity, chromaticity and selectivity, with good working qualities and providing good cosmetic properties. [0162] Evaluation of the dyeing and / or lightening effect
[0163] Protocol: The oxidizing compositions A, Cl and C2 were each mixed with dye composition B, each mixture at a weight ratio of 1:1.
[0164] Each of the mixtures was applied to strands of 90% white natural hair, in a proportion of 5 g of mixture to 1 g of hair.
[0165] After a 35-minute exposure time on a hot plate at 27°C, the hair was rinsed, washed with a standard shampoo, and dried.
[0166] Results: Hair coloration was evaluated with a Minolta CM3600d spectrocolorimeter, illumination D65, angle 10°, SCI values for colorimetric measurements L*, a*, b*.
[0167] In this L*, a*, b* system, L* represents the color intensity, a* indicates the green / red color axis and b* indicates the blue / yellow color axis. The lower the value of L, the darker or more intense the color.
[0168] The variation in coloration between the strands of untreated natural white hair (control) and after treatment or coloration is defined by AE, corresponding to the absorption of the color on the keratin fibers, according to the following equation: AE = ^ / (L L. ) 4-(a -aC; f4(bbf
[0169] In this equation, L*, a* and b* represent the values measured after dyeing of natural hair comprising 90% white hair and Lo*, a0* and b0* represent the values measured for untreated natural hair comprising 90% white hair.
[0170] The higher the AE value, the greater the color difference between the control strands and the dyed strands and the greater the color absorption.
[0171] Table 3 shows the results of the application of the oxidizing compositions to the hair:
[0172] [Tables3] AE A + B (invention) 40.18 Cl + B (comparative) 38.10 C2 + B (comparative) 38.13
[0173] The results in Table 3 showed that composition A of the invention, which included the oxyalkylenated fatty amide in an amount greater than 1.5% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, clearly exhibited significantly better color absorption with an AE difference > 2 compared to comparative compositions C1 and C2 which included the oxyalkylenated fatty amide in an amount less than 1.5% by weight.
[0174] Therefore, the composition according to the present invention has good absorption, chromaticity and color visibility with long-lasting color. In addition, the oxidizing composition according to the present invention has a non-flowing and thicker texture which is easy to apply to the hair and is also easy to rinse because it does not leave an oily residue.
[0175] In addition, the oxidizing composition according to the present invention also gives the hair good shine and a smooth texture. BENEFITS OF THIS DISCLOSURE
[0176] The oxidizing composition of the present disclosure is found to have good performance in coloring and / or lightening hair and also exhibits good working qualities. The composition provides good bleaching efficiency, good color absorption and good chromaticity, with long-lasting color. Regarding its working qualities, the composition has a non-runny texture, is easy to apply to the hair evenly, and is easy to rinse, with error-free application and therefore takes less time. The composition also does not weigh down the hair with an oily residue and instead provides shine, smooth texture and softness to the hair.
