Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Support for a heat pump associated with an engine block for an automobile
[0001] The technical context of the present invention is that of motor vehicle architectures, and in particular the engine compartment. More specifically, the invention relates to a powertrain architecture, its means of attachment to its support, and the attachment of a heat pump to such a powertrain.
[0002] In the prior art, motor vehicles are known which include -at the front - a chassis comprising an engine cradle and front right and left side members which extend relative to a longitudinal axis and which allow a drive machine to be supported and secured to a powertrain.
[0003] In the context of the present invention, the engine cradle is located under an engine compartment of the motor vehicle, at the front of the motor vehicle, behind a front bumper of said motor vehicle. At the rear, the engine cradle is rigidly attached to the side rails by means of a cradle support of the motor vehicle. The engine cradle is a fundamental structural element of the motor vehicle for transmitting forces resulting from a frontal collision, for example. At the front, the engine cradle comprises front beams that form extensions relative to the longitudinal axis and / or one or more cross members that extend relative to the transverse axis, so as to allow the support of other structural parts of the motor vehicle, such as, for example, a steering rack or the control arms of a front suspension of the motor vehicle.At the front, the engine cradle supports the front bumper of the motor vehicle.
[0004] The use of a heat pump to provide or contribute to the air conditioning and / or heating of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle is also known. The heat pump is connected to the engine in order to take advantage of the heat dissipated by the engine itself during its operation. In particular, in the case of an electrified motor vehicle, the combination of a heat pump with an electric motor is especially advantageous in order to reduce the vehicle's energy consumption when managing the temperature of the passenger compartment.
[0005] As is known, combining a heat pump with an engine requires the installation of a specific support for the heat pump, leading to an increase in design and manufacturing costs, as well as increased difficulty in integrating it into the already crowded engine compartment.
[0006] The present invention aims to provide a new support for a heat pump in order to address at least largely the previous problems and to lead to other advantages.
[0007] Another object of the invention is to facilitate the integration of a heat pump into an engine compartment and close to the engine.
[0008] Another objective of the invention is to reduce the production costs of a motor vehicle equipped with such a support.
[0009] According to a first aspect of the invention, at least one of the aforementioned objectives is achieved with a support for a heat pump associated with an engine block for a motor vehicle, the support extending along a transverse axis of the motor vehicle and comprising a base forming a bearing surface for the heat pump, the base comprising:
[0010] - a lower rebate configured to be fixed securely against a part frontal of a front wheel arch of the motor vehicle;
[0011] - an internal rebate configured to be fixed securely against a rebate upper part of a front stretcher of the motor vehicle;
[0012] - an external rebate configured to be fixed securely against a front wing lining of the motor vehicle;
[0013] - at least one fixing screw extending from the base and intended to to work with the heat pump.
[0014] In the context of the present invention, a longitudinal axis, a lateral axis, and a vertical axis are defined with respect to the motor vehicle on which the support conforming to the first aspect of the invention is intended to be mounted. More particularly, the transverse axis is understood as a direction taken between one lateral side of the motor vehicle and an opposite lateral side of said motor vehicle. In other words, the transverse axis is understood as a direction extending from a passenger side of the motor vehicle to a driver's side of said motor vehicle, or vice versa. The adjectives lateral, inside, and outside refer to such a transverse axis. Furthermore, the longitudinal axis is understood as being taken along a direction extending from front to rear or from rear to front of the motor vehicle. The longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the transverse axis. The adjectives front, front, and rear refer to this longitudinal axis.Finally, the vertical axis is understood as being taken along an axis extending from the wheels of the motor vehicle towards the roof of said motor vehicle, or vice versa, the vertical axis being simultaneously perpendicular to the transverse axis and the longitudinal axis. The adjectives above and below, or lower and upper, refer to this vertical axis.
[0015] In the context of the present invention, the base of the support forms a bearing and fixing surface for the heat pump intended to be fixed to the support conforming to the first aspect of the invention. The base thus forms a bearing surface that extends predominantly along the transverse axis, so as to provide a support surface adapted to the heat pump.
[0016] In the context of the present invention, the support is intended to be associated with a front wheel arch of the motor vehicle. To this end, the support is configured to be able to bear against several structural parts of the motor vehicle in order to obtain the rigidity required for holding and securing the heat pump. In particular, the support according to the first aspect of the invention is intended to be attached simultaneously to the front part of the front wheel arch, to the front fender liner, and to one of the crossmembers associated with the front wheel arch.
[0017] In the context of the present invention, the front wheel arch is a part with a generally curved or even cylindrical shape, which defines a recess in which a wheel of the motor vehicle is intended to extend. The wheel arch thus comprises a curved sheet metal part whose concavity is oriented downwards, relative to the vertical axis. In the context of the present invention, the support extends above the wheel arch, relative to the vertical axis.
[0018] In the context of the present invention, each front frame rail is a longitudinal structural component located at the front of the motor vehicle and to which a motor vehicle engine assembly is attached. Each front frame rail extends from front to back within the motor vehicle it equips, relative to the longitudinal axis. Each front frame rail is located under an engine compartment of the motor vehicle, at the front of the motor vehicle, behind a front bumper of the motor vehicle, and extends through the engine compartment and under a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. Each front frame rail takes the form of a metal support fixed rigidly to a chassis of the motor vehicle. In particular, at the front end of a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, the front frame rail is fixed rigidly to a subframe of the motor vehicle. Specifically, the front frame rail is fixed rigidly to a front bulkhead of the motor vehicle.At one rear end, the front stretcher is fixed securely to a side member of the motor vehicle.
[0019] In the context of the present invention, the rabbet of the front stretcher is a shaped sheet metal delimiting an edge of the front stretcher, thus, the upper rabbet of the front stretcher is a sheet metal which determines an upper edge of the front stretcher.
[0020] In the context of the present invention, the front wing is a lateral wing that conventionally covers a right or left lateral area of the longitudinal end of the motor vehicle, being fixed to one of the chassis elements of the motor vehicle. a plurality of attachment points. The side wing has an arched edge configured to abut against a body edge in order to define the wheel arch on the outer side of the motor vehicle. The side wing is thus fixed to the body edge via its abutment edge and has a clearance, delimited at least in part by its arched edge, to allow access to the wheel arch and fender from the outer side of the motor vehicle.
[0021] In the context of the present invention, the front fender liner forms a rigid sheet metal part that serves as a support for a body panel of the motor vehicle. The front fender liner is located on the engine compartment side and is intended to be fitted with a body panel.
[0022] In the context of the present invention, the inner rebate, the lower rebate, and the upper rebate of the base form flaps that serve as a bearing and fixing surface against the opposing faces, namely, respectively, the upper rebate of the front frame rail, the front part of the front wheel arch, and the front fender liner. Thus, the support is configured and intended to be fixed by various points and / or weld beads to the aforementioned opposing faces.
[0023] In the context of the present invention, each at least one fixing screw is fixed to the base in order to provide a mounting and fixing interface for the heat pump.
[0024] Thus, the heat pump bracket according to the first aspect of the invention solves the technical problem by modifying existing engine mounts. A notable difference between the bracket according to the first aspect of the invention and known brackets lies in the fact that its elongation is extended so that it can be securely fixed to the upper groove of the front frame rail, the front part of the front wheel arch, and the front fender liner in order to obtain the rigidity necessary for mounting and securing the heat pump. Furthermore, the bracket according to the first aspect of the invention is associated with at least one fixing screw to allow the heat pump to be fixed directly to the same bracket as the engine itself.Thus, the heat pump support conforming to the first aspect of the invention leads to simplifications in manufacturing and assembly, but also to a reduction in manufacturing costs.
[0025] The heat pump support according to the first aspect of the invention advantageously comprises at least one of the improvements below, the technical characteristics forming these improvements being able to be taken alone or in combination:
[0026] - each at least one fixing screw extends from an upper face of the base, The upper face serves as a support surface for the heat pump. In the context of the present invention, the upper face of the base is located at a distance of the wheel arch to which the support according to the invention is intended to be associated. Thus, relative to the vertical axis, the heat pump - via the support conforming to the first aspect of the invention - is intended to be placed above the front wheel arch and in the direct vicinity of the motor intended to be fixed on said support;
[0027] - each at least one fixing screw extends predominantly along a vertical axis of the motor vehicle;
[0028] - each at least one fixing screw is of the type of screw fixed securely to the upper face of the base - by crimping or by welding;
[0029] - according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the support comprises a The first fixing screw is located on the inner rebate side, and the second fixing screw is located on the outer rebate side. Specifically, the first and second fixing screws are aligned along the main elongation direction of the base, i.e., the transverse axis. This advantageous configuration allows the heat pump to be fixed in a stable and robust manner.
[0030] - the base forms a platform overhanging the front part of the wheel arch front. In other words, the upper face of the base is located at a distance from and opposite the front part of the front wheel arch;
[0031] - the upper face of the base forms a predominantly flat surface which extends in a plane determined by the transverse axis and the longitudinal axis;
[0032] - the support is formed of a metallic material, such as, for example, comprising Steel. This advantageous configuration provides the necessary rigidity for mounting the heat pump, given its weight and the close proximity of the motor on the same support. Specifically, the support is made of stamped sheet metal. Advantageously, the sheet metal has a thickness between 1 mm and 2 mm, preferably 1.3 mm.
[0033] - the support includes at least one stiffening rib. This configuration advantageous allows the support according to the invention to be reinforced and prevented from deforming under the effect of the weight of the heat pump and / or under the effect of vibrations introduced by the rolling of the motor vehicle for example;
[0034] - at least one stiffening rib extends along a longitudinal axis of the motor vehicle. Preferably, the support comprises several stiffening ribs extending parallel to each other. The stiffening ribs are preferably located at the base and / or the rebates of the support according to the invention;
[0035] - a front face of the base includes a means for retaining the vehicle's engine automobile. This advantageous configuration allows for the transfer of force to the engine, which is then supported and fixed to both the front frame rails and the support. according to the invention. By way of non-limiting example, the retaining means comprises a crimped nut and / or a centering hole intended to collaborate with a pin or shaft associated with the motor.
[0036] According to a second aspect of the invention, an engine arrangement for a motor vehicle is proposed, the engine arrangement comprising:
[0037] - two front shafts extending along a longitudinal axis, each front shaft comprising means for fixing a motor vehicle engine;
[0038] - two front wheel arches located on either side of the front shafts, each wheel arch being associated with a support, at least one of which is of the type of the first aspect of the invention or according to any of its improvements;
[0039] - a heat pump fixed securely to at least one support.
[0040] The arrangement according to the second aspect of the invention advantageously comprises at least one of the improvements below, the technical features forming these improvements being able to be taken alone or in combination:
[0041] - each wheel arch has a fixing screw which extends along a vertical axis allowing for the attachment of the heat pump. This advantageous configuration complements the support by providing a third point of support and attachment for the heat pump. This results in greater stability and a better assembly of the heat pump on its support. In this configuration, the heat pump extends above and across the support and the front wheel arch, in an ideal position in close proximity to the engine. In other words, the heat pump is mounted straddling the support itself and the front part of the front wheel arch;
[0042] - the heat pump is fixed securely to the support and the front wheel arch by means of shock absorbers positioned intermediately between the heat pump on one side and, on the other, the front wheel arch and the support. Each shock absorber has at least one damping disc mounted on the corresponding fixing screw. This advantageous configuration allows for dynamic decoupling of the heat pump from the vehicle chassis, and in particular from the support and the front frame rails;
[0043] - each front part of the wheel arches has reinforcing ribs. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to reinforce the front wheel arch and prevent it from deforming under the weight of the heat pump and / or under the effect of vibrations introduced by the movement of the motor vehicle, for example;
[0044] - the reinforcing ribs of the front parts of the wheel arches include (i) the first reinforcing ribs oriented along the longitudinal axis, the first reinforcing ribs extending from a rear part of the passage of wheel and towards the base of the support, and / or (ii) second reinforcing ribs oriented along the transverse axis, the second reinforcing ribs extending forward of the base of the support.
[0045] According to a second aspect of the invention, a motor vehicle is proposed comprising an engine arrangement conforming to the second aspect of the invention or to any one of its improvements.
[0046] The motor vehicle is preferably of the type of an electrified motor vehicle.
[0047] In the context of the present invention, an electrified motor vehicle may be of the type of an electric vehicle pulled exclusively by an electric motor powered by a traction battery, or of the type of a hybrid motor vehicle comprising both the electric motor powered by the traction battery and associated with another propulsion system, such as an internal combustion engine, to propel the motor vehicle. Among hybrid motor vehicles, a distinction is made between plug-in hybrid vehicles, for which the traction battery can be recharged by connecting to an external power source, and non-plug-in hybrid vehicles, i.e., those not equipped for such recharging of the traction battery from an external electrical grid.
[0048] Generally, the drivetrain of such an electrified motor vehicle is rotated by an electric machine, powered by a traction battery, in order to generate motor torque for propelling the motor vehicle. Complementarily or alternatively, the electric machine is configured to recover mechanical energy from the drivetrain and convert it into electrical energy, thereby producing braking torque on the drivetrain and recharging the traction battery.
[0049]
[0050] Various embodiments of the invention are provided, incorporating, according to all their possible combinations, the different optional features set out here.
[0051] Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description on the one hand, and from several embodiments given by way of illustration and not limitation with reference to the accompanying schematic drawings on the other hand, in which:
[0052] [Fig-1] illustrates a three-dimensional view of an example of an embodiment of a arrangement conforming to the second aspect of the invention and comprising a support for a heat pump conforming to the first aspect of the invention;
[0053] [Fig.2] illustrates a three-dimensional view of the support shown in [Fig.1], in its environment and in which the heat pump has been masked;
[0054] [Fig.3] illustrates a three-dimensional view and the underside of the arrangement shown on the [Fig.l].
[0055] Of course, the features, variants, and different embodiments of the invention can be combined in various ways, provided they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variants of the invention may be conceived comprising only a selection of features, described hereafter in isolation from the other described features, if this selection of features is sufficient to confer a technical advantage or to differentiate the invention from the prior art.
[0056] In particular, all the variants and all the embodiments described are combinable with each other if nothing prevents this combination from a technical point of view.
[0057] In the figures, the elements common to several figures retain the same reference.
[0058] In the FIGURES described below, a longitudinal axis X, a lateral axis and a vertical axis Z are defined relative to the motor vehicle on which the support 1 according to the invention is intended to be mounted.
[0059] More specifically, the transverse axis Y is understood as a direction between one side of the motor vehicle and the opposite side of the same motor vehicle. In other words, the transverse axis Y is understood as a direction extending from a passenger side of the motor vehicle to a driver's side of the same motor vehicle, or vice versa. The adjectives lateral, inside, and outside refer to such a transverse axis Y.
[0060] Furthermore, the longitudinal axis X extends as if taken along a direction extending from front to rear or rear to front of the motor vehicle. The longitudinal axis X is perpendicular to the transverse axis Y. The adjectives front, front, and rear refer to this longitudinal axis X.
[0061] Finally, the vertical axis Z is understood as being taken along an axis which extends from the wheels of the motor vehicle and towards the roof of said motor vehicle, or vice versa, the vertical axis Z being simultaneously perpendicular to the transverse axis Y and to the longitudinal axis X. The adjectives above and below, or lower and upper, refer to this vertical axis Z.
[0062] The invention relates to a 2-motor arrangement for a motor vehicle, the 2-motor arrangement comprising:
[0063] - two front stretchers 25 extending along the longitudinal axis X, each stretcher before 25 including means for fixing a motor vehicle engine - not shown in the FIGURES;
[0064] - two front wheel arches 22 located on either side of the front shafts 25, each wheel arch 22 being associated with a support 1 of which at least one is of the type of the invention and as described below;
[0065] - a heat pump 24 fixed securely to at least one support 1 according to the invention.
[0066] Thus, the heat pump 24 can be installed on the side of the engine, in its immediate vicinity, to optimize its operation. As shown in [Fig. 1], the heat pump 24 extends above the front wheel arch 22, supported by the bracket 1 according to the invention. To this end, in order to support the weight of the heat pump 24 under normal operating conditions in a motor vehicle, the bracket 1 according to the invention is extended compared to known brackets, which are designed and dimensioned only to support the engine itself at the level of the front wheel arch 22, in addition to the attachment to the front frame rails 25.
[0067] Thus, with reference to FIGURES 2 and 3, the invention addresses a support 1 for a heat pump 24 associated with an engine block of a motor vehicle, the support 1 extending along a transverse axis Y of the motor vehicle and comprising a base 11 forming a bearing surface for the heat pump 24, the base 11 comprising:
[0068] - a lower rebate 12 configured to be fixed securely against a front part of a front wheel arch 22 of the motor vehicle;
[0069] - an internal rebate 14 configured to be fixed securely against a upper rebate 251 of a front stretcher 25 of the motor vehicle;
[0070] - an external rebate 13 configured to be fixed securely against a lining 21 of the front wing of the motor vehicle;
[0071] - at least one fixing screw 15 extending from the base 11 and intended to collaborate with the heat pump 24.
[0072] The base 11 thus forms a bearing surface that extends predominantly along the transverse axis Y, across and above the front wheel arch 22, and in particular its front part. The base 11 thus forms a support surface for the heat pump 24, by virtue of its upper face 111 against which or on which the heat pump 24 is intended to be affixed and securely fixed, via at least one fixing screw 15.
[0073] As can be seen in [Fig. 2], the upper face 111 of the base 11 forms a predominantly horizontal plane. Each at least one fixing screw 15 extends through the upper face 111 to define fixing means for the heat pump 24. In particular, each at least one fixing screw 15 projects outward from the upper face 111 of the base 11. Each fixing screw 15 preferably extends along the vertical axis Z.
[0074] Preferably, the support 1 has two fixing screws 15 which are distributed on the upper face 111 of the base 11: a first fixing screw 15 is located on the side of the outer rebate 13, and a second fixing screw 15 is located on the side of the inner rebate 14. This advantageous configuration allows the heat pump 24 to be attached more robustly and stably to the support 1.
[0075] Each fixing screw 15 is fixed to the base 11. In particular, the base 11 has a hole provided on the upper face 111 through which the fixing screw 15 extends in a direction opposite to the front part of the front wheel arch 22 located below the support 1. Each fixing screw 15 is fixed to the base 11 by any means, and in particular by welding for example, thus the base 11, its upper face 111 and each fixing screw 15 form a mechanical coupling interface for the heat pump 24.
[0076] As seen in [Fig. 1], this mechanical coupling interface is completed by a third fixing screw 15 which extends from the front wheel arch 22, behind the support 1 relative to the longitudinal axis X. Similar to the support 1, the fixing screw 15 associated with the front wheel arch 22 is engaged in a hole provided on the front part of the front wheel arch 22, the fixing screw 15 extends protruding from the front wheel arch 22, mainly along the vertical axis Z, in a manner analogous to those associated with the support 1.
[0077] When the heat pump 24 is mounted on this mechanical coupling interface and on the support 1, mounting tabs 241 of the heat pump 24 are engaged on each of the fixing screws 15. In addition, each mounting tab 241 and each fixing screw 15 is associated with dampers 23 in order to dampen mechanical vibrations introduced by the movement of the engine and the motor vehicle.
[0078] To ensure proper support for the engine and heat pump 24, the support 1 is lengthened and now extends between the front frame rail 25 and the front fender liner 21 of the motor vehicle, relative to the transverse axis Y. Relative to the longitudinal axis X, the support 1 rests against a front edge of the front part of the front wheel arch 22. This larger footprint of the support 1 on the wheel arch 22, as well as its shoulder against the upper flange 251 of the front frame rail 25 and against the front fender liner 21 – via an external flap of the wheel arch 22 bearing against said front fender liner 21 – makes it possible to provide a larger and more robust support 1 for the heat pump 24.
[0079] As can be seen in FIGURES 2 and 3, since the arrangement 2 now supports the heat pump 24 in addition to the engine – on the support 1 itself and on the front wheel arch 22 – it is useful to reinforce its mechanical rigidity. To this end, the support 1 has stiffening ribs 10 which extend at the level of the rebate lower 12 - in association with reinforcing ribs 221 associated with the front wheel arch 22. The stiffening ribs 10 are formed from the same material as the support 1 and obtained, for example, by stamping. The stiffening ribs 10 are formed on the lower rebate 12 and / or under the base 11, i.e., on the faces of the base 11 located directly opposite the front wheel arch 22.
[0080] In addition, to stiffen the front wheel arch 22 supporting the motor support 1 and the heat pump 24 itself, the front wheel arch 22 also includes reinforcing ribs 221. These reinforcing ribs 221 extend under the support 1 and extend relative to the longitudinal axis X and / or relative to the transverse axis Y.
[0081] Thus, the support 1 according to the invention makes it possible in a new way compared to the prior art to effectively support the heat pump 24, thanks to larger dimensions than those of known supports 1 and an attachment extended to the front frame 25, the wheel arch 22 and the lining 21 of the front wing.
[0082] In summary, the invention relates to a support 1 for a heat pump 24 associated with an engine block for a motor vehicle, the support 1 comprising a base 11 forming a bearing surface for the heat pump 24, the base 11 comprising a lower rebate 12 configured to be fixed securely against a front part of a front wheel arch 22 of the motor vehicle, an inner rebate 14 configured to be fixed securely against an upper rebate 251 of a front frame 25 of the motor vehicle, an outer rebate 13 configured to be fixed securely against a lining 21 of the front wing of the motor vehicle, and at least one fixing screw 15 which extends projecting from the base 11 and which is intended to collaborate with the heat pump 24.
[0083] Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples just described, and many modifications can be made to these examples without departing from the scope of the invention. In particular, the various features, forms, variants, and embodiments of the invention can be combined with one another in various ways, provided they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. Specifically, all the variants and embodiments described above are combinable.
