Systems and methods for intelligent medical vigilance

An intelligent medical vigilance system that observes and analyzes, and, only in the event of a clinically significant negative condition, notifies and reports the event to the care staff utilizing the hospital's existing nurse call system. The device includes a bedside unit connected to a pad or coverlet with a sensor array (placed under the patient) and also to an existing hospital nurse call system via an interface. Within the physical bedside unit are a signal processor and an alarm processor that measure data and evaluate whether a clinically significant event is occurring. The bedside unit is a wall-mounted unit with a display that becomes active when an alarm condition is enabled. The sensing pad or coverlet is a thin, piezoelectric film, or other similar sensing technology, with an array of sensors sheathed in soft padding and is not directly in contact with the skin of the patient. The nurse call feature is made up of hardware, software and cabling to connect to the nurse call system already installed in the hospital or care facility. The monitoring system can also be installed in vehicles to monitor operator physiological conditions. Vigilance alarms are suspended if a patient is detected out of bed. An unable-to-measure alert is provided if the system is unable to reliably monitor. Bed exit alarms can be placed into a pause mode for supervised bed exit of patients on bed restriction. An alert message is generated and maintained on the display screen to inform a responding caregiver of the time and reason for any alarm.

Method and apparatus for producing a plasma display

Since a widely applicable high quality plasma display equipped with a phosphor layer suitable as a highly precise plasma display can be produced continuously at a high productivity level, an industrially advantageous method and apparatus for producing a plasma display can be provided. The highly precise plasma display obtained in the present invention can be widely used in the display field, for example, for wall mounted television sets, information displays, etc. The method for producing a plasma display of the present invention comprises the step of continuously applying a phosphor paste containing a phosphor powder and an organic compound onto a substrate with a plurality of barrier ribs from a paste applicator with a plurality of outlet holes. Furthermore, the present invention comprises the steps of coating a substrate with a plurality of barrier ribs, with three phosphor pastes respectively containing a phosphor powder emitting light of red, green or blue, as stripes in the spaces between the respectively adjacent barrier ribs on the substrate, from a paste applicator with outlet holes, and heating to form a phosphor layer. Moreover, the apparatus for producing a plasma display of the present invention comprises a table for fixing a substrate with a plurality of barrier ribs, a paste applicator with a plurality of outlet holes to face the barrier ribs of the substrate, a supply means for supplying a phosphor paste to the paste applicator, and a moving means for three-dimensionally moving the table and the paste applicator relatively each other.

Wall-mounted home fitness training equipment

An overall fitness trainer and can be a wall mounted unit that can utilize clip resistance bands as well as other techniques. These bands generally clip on the unit and onto different handles, bars and attachments to perform exercises. The unit can have a removable/adjustable pull up bar, dip bar and seat. It also includes a spring loaded, pull pin carriage that moves freely up and down a vertical spine. This allows for easy adjustment of the carriage and allows the user to attach the bands at multiple angles, widths and levels. This in turn increases the number of exercises the user can perform on the unit. The unit also typically has an o ring that attaches through the arm of the pull up attachment as well as a ½ O-ring at the bottom of the unit again increasing the number of exercises the user can perform. The unit can be attached to the wall with lag bolts into two or more studs. Some embodiments of the invention have an adjustable swivel foot that takes the stress off of the lag bolts and also adds to the overall load capacity of the unit. The apparatus typically has an optional telescoping central vertical spine that splits in two pieces to make the unit easier to ship. The central vertical spine allows attachments to be added and removed using spring loaded pins or plunger pins. Various embodiments of the invention can have an oscillating and telescopic bench, a dip bar, a seat, a knee stabilizer and a foot rest. All of these accessories can be attached and removed to the central spine adding to the versatility and scope of exercises that can be performed.
