A pedal board for releasably retaining a plurality of foot pedal operated sound effect generators used in conjunction with musical instruments, such as guitars. The pedal board comprises an upper plate having a surface constructed to releasably hold a plurality of foot pedal operated sound effect generators. The pedal board is provided with an internal wiring harness and external jacks for connection of the sound effect generators in a desired array and which enable connection to the musical instrument as well as to an auxiliary sound generating component used with the musical instrument.

A stand (10) for supporting a musical instrument (12), such as a guitar, in an upright position when not in use and for retention on the instrument when the instrument is in use. The stand comprises a mounting base (22) secured to the rear surface of the instrument (18), and a support member (24) pivotally connected to the mounting base (22) and containing first and second foot portions (34A & B) and third foot portion (56). The pivotal attachment allows the support member (24) to be transitioned between a storage position adjacent the rear surface of the instrument (18) and a deployed position spaced away from the rear surface of the instrument (18) where, together with the bottom edge of the instrument (20), the first and second foot portions (34A & B) act to support the instrument (12). Third foot portion (56) engages a floor or other support surface providing fixative force to the support member allowing the instrument and mounting base to be pivoted away from the support member to the deployed position without the need to touch the stand. The support member (24) is spring-loaded and automatically returns to the storage position when the instrument (12) is lifted for use.

The invention concerns a tip structure for a support leg for a stand. The stand may be used for supporting a musical instrument. The support leg has a main part with a bottom end. A bar receiving opening opens into the bottom end of the main support. An elongated hole is formed in the side of the support leg and communicates into the bar receiving opening. An end cap is fitted over the bottom end of the leg. The cap has a bottom opening that is aligned with the bar receiving opening at the bottom of the support leg. The cap has an adjustment groove along the side of the cap which overlies the elongated hole in the leg. A tip bar is inserted in the bar receiving opening in the leg and is projectable through the opening in the cap. A clamping screw extends through the adjustment groove in the side of the cap and through the elongated hole in the side of the leg and into the bar receiving opening inside the leg for being tightenable to clamp the bar at a selected position beyond the end of the cap and loosenable to permit adjustment of the clamping of the bar with respect to the cap. The musical instrument stand may include two of the support legs supported on a support for the musical instrument, which may be a cymbal.

A support which positions a musical instrument or other device in front of a musician or user in a near-vertical orientation, while comfortably distributing the instrument's weight upon the musician's body. It comprises a strap made from a strip of flexible material which is passed over the shoulder of a musician. The ends are attached to a guitar at points of attachment located upon either side of the guitar's body, a departure from previous practice. Due to the selection of the points of attachment, the guitar is supported in a generally vertical orientation. The tuner head or upper portion of the guitar then extends to a position generally above the musician's shoulder. A shoulder pad of cushioning material is slidably affixed to the underside of the strap. An adjustable cord or strap is attached from the shoulder pad to the guitar's tuner head, whereby the cord can secure and stabilize the positioning of the tuner head and thus the vertical orientation of the guitar. In addition, upwardly-pulling tension afforded by the cord's attachment to the guitar's tuner head stabilizes the position of the shoulder strap at the highest point of the strap, which is above the musician's shoulder. The guitar is supported and positioned in a near-vertical position, and the musician can play freely with both hands, without requiring either hand for support or positioning of the instrument. Such positioning enhances certain musical techniques, including "two-handed tapping' or "touch-style' methods of play. The guitar will remain in the proper playing position during seated or standing performance and during performance gyrations, and the shoulder pad will remain properly positioned atop the musician's shoulder during a performance.

A combination guitar arm rest and leg rest for attachment to a portion of a body of a guitar and holding the guitar away from a guitar player's arm or elbow and above the player's leg. The combination includes an arm rest pad and a leg rest pad. The arm rest pad and the leg rest pad are pivotally attached to a tang. The tang is pivotally mounted on a yoke. The yoke is pivotally attached to one end of a pair of struts. An opposite end of the struts is pivotally mounted on a suction cup pivot pin. Opposite ends of the pivot pin are attached to a pair of suction cups. The suction cups are adapted for releasable attachment to the body of the guitar. The tang, the yoke and the struts allow the arm rest pad and the leg rest pad to be pivoted in an “XY” vertical plane, a “YZ” vertical plane and a “XZ” horizontal plane for infinite adjustments by the guitar player.

To connect a large and a small diameter pipe, a pipe connector has a tightening bush with a cut through it and is compressed around the pipe and has a main body with a receptacle for the tightening bush. The tightening bush has first axial ribs on a circumferential region of the periphery. The main body receptacle has cooperating complementary second internal ribs engaged by the first ribs so that as the bush is tightened, it does not rotate in the receptacle. A large pipe holder extends down from the receptacle for the bush and receives the large diameter pipe. An auxiliary bush may be disposed inside the large pipe in the radial space between the large and small diameter pipes.

A musical instrument stand with a self-locking neck lock assembly for a guitar-shaped musical instrument has a post, multiple legs and a self-locking neck lock assembly. The self-locking neck lock assembly is attached to the post and has a stationary bracket, two locking palms, a movable bracket and a spring. The stationary bracket is attached securely to the post and has a U-shaped stationary collar having two distal ends. The locking palms are rotatably mounted on respectively the distal ends. The movable bracket is mounted pivotally on the stationary bracket and has a U-shaped movable collar. The movable collar has two distal ends mounted slidably to the palms to open or close the palms. The spring is mounted between the stationary and movable brackets and biases the movable collar upward to open the palms. When the movable bracket pivots down, the locking palms pivot to lock the neck.

A musical instrument stand includes a clamping unit and a support unit connected with the clamping unit. The support unit includes a base frame and a connecting module. The connecting module includes a connecting portion and a spherical universal connector. The clamping unit includes a clamp assembly, a spherical mounting seat, and a positioning nut. The mounting seat has an external thread onto which the positioning nut is screwed onto and has a periphery provided with at least two elongate slits. Thus, the mounting seat of the clamping unit is pivotally connected with the universal connector of the support unit so that the support unit can be pivoted relative to the clamping unit so as to adjust the angle of the support unit freely and variably.

A body-supportable musical-instrument carrier featuring a rigid frame, a belly plate, and first and second mounting members is provided. The frame includes a substantially U-shaped intermediate section and end sections at opposite ends of the intermediate section. A locking device for retaining a musical instrument can be attached to a stand assembly by a base member. A support unit with an entrance opening supports a portion of the instrument. A force such as gravitational can cause the support unit to rotate a biased locking member to close the entrance opening. Removal of the instrument permits a biasing force to open the locking member.

An adjustable tripod stand having independently adjustable legs includes an upright member for supporting an object, such as a drum, at its upper end. A pair of independently movable collar members are slidably mounted on the upright member and longitudinally adjustable relative to and past one another and to an upright portion for selective positioning thereon. A releasable fastener on the collars secures them to the upright member at selected positions. Three movable leg members are connected at their upper ends, two to one of the collar members and one to the other collar member. Movement of the collar members permits the stand to be erected in limited or confined areas. When one of the lower leg extender members is extended a support is provided for the tripod on different levels.

One embodiment of a foldable and height adjustable playing support for musical instrument that supports an instrument such as a guitar in the playing position while the musician is in the seated position. When in use it supports the instrument's bottom surface with its top instrument supporting surface and its bottom portion, the body contacting surface, rests on the performer's thigh. The support provides the performer various height adjustments to achieve the most comfortable playing position. When not in use it can be flattened to a form that is easy to carry and travel with.

A combined stand and workstation (10) to support a stringed musical instrument such as a guitar or a banjo has an elongate receiving member (20) to support the instrument, the receiving member (20) being rotatably supported on support means (11). The support means (11) and the receiving member (20) are both adjustable in length. The receiving member (20) has supports (22, 25) for the base of the instrument and for its neck, and additionally can comprise an intermediate support to support the body of the instrument. The second instrument receiving portion (25) is rotatable and can be biased by means of a spring (27) to engage the neck of the instrument and prevent it from moving.
