Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Interior accessory forming a cup holder and a telephone holder.
[0001] The technical field relates to interior accessories designed to be inserted into an interior cup holder of a motor vehicle and to motor vehicles having such accessories.
[0002] Automobile manufacturers take great care in developing their vehicles to offer their customers vehicles with impeccable build quality. Build quality is reflected, first and foremost, in the quality of the assembly and materials used in the vehicle. However, the quality perceived by customers is also influenced by the quality of the accessories supplied with the vehicle.
[0003] Most vehicles are now equipped with cup holders that allow for the insertion of a cup or can, giving passengers the option of having a drink held securely in the cup holder without the risk of spillage. Most vehicles sometimes include platforms for one or more mobile phones. However, such platforms occupy a significant amount of space, and manufacturers sometimes choose not to provide such a platform for front passengers. Passengers can then place their mobile phone in a cup holder, which then no longer has space for a cup.
[0004] Thus, there is a need for a solution to provide a passenger in a vehicle, which does not have a platform for a mobile phone, with a solution for storing the phone.
[0005] The present invention aims to overcome the problems described above. In this technical context, one objective of the present invention is to provide an accessory that utilizes a vehicle cup holder to provide space for a mobile phone and a cup.
[0006] To this end, the present invention relates to a passenger compartment accessory designed to be inserted into a cup holder in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, the accessory comprising a first part designed to hold a beverage and delimited by a side wall, the accessory comprising a second part, separate from the first part, forming a mobile phone holder, the second part comprising a receiving interface designed to receive the phone, the receiving interface being extended by connection means designed to interact with complementary means of the first part in order to secure the first and second part, the accessory allowing the mobile phone to be supported when the accessory is inserted into the cup holder and the first and second parts are joined together.
[0007] The invention finally relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one cup holder and at least one accessory according to the invention insertable into a cup holder.
[0008] Thus, the accessory according to the invention is designed to be inserted into a cup holder. The first part of the accessory provides the function of a cup holder by allowing a beverage to be placed directly in the second part or indirectly by acting as a cup or can holder. Thanks to the second part, the accessory can also be used to hold a mobile phone. Furthermore, when the second part is not in use, it can be separated from the first part and stored in the glove compartment. Thus, the accessory according to the invention utilizes a cup holder available in the vehicle according to the invention to offer the possibility of holding both a phone and a beverage.
[0009] According to one embodiment of the passenger compartment accessory, the connection means comprise at least two clipping tabs, each designed to cooperate with at least one clipping groove of the complementary means, each provided in the side wall.
[0010] Advantageously, the side wall has a frustoconical shape, the side wall having at least two helical clipping grooves diametrically opposed to each other.
[0011] Advantageously still, each clipping leg extends from the receiving interface to a distal end, each distal end having a pin sized to be slid into a clipping groove.
[0012] According to one possibility of the in-car accessory, the receiving interface includes at least one rim designed to allow support for the received phone in the receiving interface, the rim having a cutout to allow passage of a charging cable through the rim, in order to connect the received phone to a power source.
[0013] Advantageously then, the receiving interface has a support plate, the rim protruding from the plate.
[0014] Advantageously, the cut forms a notch.
[0015] According to one embodiment of the interior accessory, the first part forms a cup holder.
[0016] According to one possibility, when the first and second parts are assembled and the first part is inserted into a cup holder, the receiving interface is designed to present the received phone in the receiving interface along a plane inclined relative to a horizontal axis of the vehicle.
[0017] The invention will be better understood upon reading the following detailed description, given solely by way of non-limiting example and made with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
[0018] [Fig-1] [Fig.1] represents a perspective view of an accessory according to the invention.
[0019] A passenger compartment accessory 1 according to the invention, illustrated in [Fig.1], is designed to be inserted into a cup holder in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle.
[0020] As illustrated in the figure, the accessory 1 comprises a first part 2 designed to hold a beverage. The first part 2 is delimited by a side wall 3. In the example shown in the figure, the side wall 3 has a frustoconical shape. The first part 2 forms a can holder. The first part 2 is insertable into a vehicle cup holder.
[0021] The accessory 1 according to the invention further comprises a second part 4, separate from the first part 2, forming a mobile phone holder, not shown. For this purpose, the second part 2 comprises a receiving interface 5 designed to receive the phone. In the embodiment illustrated in the figure, the receiving interface 5 has a support plate 6. The support plate 6 has a lip 7 projecting from the plate 6 and designed to support the phone received in the receiving interface 5. The lip 7 defines an edge of the plate 6, and the phone received in the receiving interface 5 rests at least partially on the lip 7. As illustrated in the figure, the lip 7 has a cutout 8 to allow a charging cable to pass through the lip 7 in order to connect the phone received in the receiving interface 5 to a power source. For example, cutout 8 forms a notch to allow the cable to pass through when it is connected to the phone.
[0022] The receiving interface 5 is extended by connection means 9 designed to interact with complementary means 10 of the first part 2, in order to secure the first 2 and second 4 parts, the accessory 1 allowing the mobile phone to be supported, when the accessory 1 is inserted into the cup holder and the first 2 and second 4 parts are secured.
[0023] According to one possibility of the invention, the first 2 and second 4 parts are obtained by molding plastic materials.
[0024] In the embodiment illustrated in the figure, the connection means 9 comprise at least two clipping tabs 11, each designed to cooperate with at least one clipping groove 12 of the complementary means 10. Each clipping tab 11 extends from the receiving interface 5 to a distal end 13 having a pin 14 dimensioned to be slid into a clipping groove 12.
[0025] Each clipping groove 12 is provided in the side wall 3. For example, each groove 12 passes through the side wall 3. In the embodiment illustrated in the figure, each groove 12 has a helical shape. At least two grooves 12 are diametrically opposed to each other.
[0026] The assembly of the first part 2 on the second part 4 therefore requires the engagement of each pin 14 in a groove 12, then the sliding of each pin 14 in its groove 12, by operating a rotational movement of the first part 2 around the second part 4.
[0027] When the first 2 and second 4 parts are assembled and the first part 2 is inserted into a cup holder, the receiving interface 5 is designed to present the received phone in the receiving interface 5 along an inclined plane relative to a horizontal axis of the vehicle.
[0028] In a vehicle according to the invention, having at least one cup holder, each accessory 1 according to the invention is insertable into a cup holder. The first part 2 is then partially inserted into the cup holder, protruding from it. The second part 4 is then positioned outside the cup holder, with the receiving interface 5 extending in an inclined plane.
[0029] In order to improve the retention of the received telephone in the receiving interface 5, the latter further comprises two lateral edges 15 extending along the plate 6.
[0030] Thus, accessory 1 is designed to be inserted into a cup holder. The first part 2 of accessory 1 provides the cup holder function by allowing for the holding of a beverage; the beverage is contained either directly in the second part 4 or indirectly within it, acting as a cup or can holder. Thanks to the second part 4, accessory 1 can also be used to hold a mobile phone. Furthermore, when the second part 4 is not in use, it, separated from the first part 2, can be stored in the glove compartment. Thus, accessory 1 utilizes a cup holder available in the vehicle according to the invention to hold both a phone and a beverage.
[0031] The invention is not limited to the embodiment of the accessory described above, only by way of example, but other embodiments may be designed by a person skilled in the art without departing from the scope and extent of the present invention.
