Abstract
Description
This invention relates to a product that helps stabilise gate guards which can also be used as a worktable. When engineers are working, they guard their work areas by using gate guards / pedestrian barriers, and these are usually secured by sandbags and if they need a worktable, this is normally a stand-alone table within the workspace. However, there are drawbacks to both. A standalone table creates a bigger area that is needed to be guarded off which in turn results in more gate guards being needed as well as more sandbags to secure them. This has potential to cause dangers to the public by creating less space for them to pass safely due to the extended guarded area caused by the standalone workbench / gate guards. However, to overcome these issues, the present invention not only reduces the engineer’s workspace and making it safer for pedestrians, but also helps stabilise the gate guards. By creating this 2-in-1 product, it also means the engineer has less equipment to carry to theirwork area and reduces the equipment on site. The Invention will be made from a single piece of material to ensure Its durability. This also reduces the chances of any parts failing / braking. The invention will now be described solely byway of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the detailed dimensions of the finished invention from a top view, as well as a simplified drawing. Figure 2 shows the dimensions / shape of the invention of front view. In figure 1, the invention is shown from a birds eye perspective. This invention has been specifically made to fit on the most commonly used gate guards at various heights. The side brackets 1 and back brackets 4 are designed to hook over gate guards with a snug fit to ensure they stay in place. Brackets 1 and 4 are durable and strong enough to support base 2 and to hold various tools / equipment. Base 2 also has a non-slip material / matto ensure anything that is placed on it, doesn’t slide about. Edging 4 is in place to help protect both the invention and user from any damage. Hole 6 is in place for a carry handle to be attached to the invention to allow for easy manageability as well as easy storage when not in use. Figure 2 shows an alternative embodiment to allow the visualisation of the product and how it is to be used in conjunction with gate guards. As you can see, there are four lots of brackets 5 to help stabilise the invention and give it four points of contact to the gate guards.
Claims
1. A worktable that attaches to gate guards at various levels and provides additional support to stabilise the gate guards.
2. A worktable according to claim 1, it attaches to the gate guards by means of brackets that slot over the frame of the gate guard.
3. A worktable according to claim 1, by attaching it to the gate guard at various points, it provides extra stability for the gate guard.
4. A worktable according to claim 2, there are four brackets covering three sides of the worktable to ensure stability.
5. A worktable according to claim 4, the four bracket locations have been specifically located on the worktable to allow it to be used at different heights on a gate guard.
6. A worktable according to claim 1, the structure is made from a single piece of material to allow for structural stability.
7. A worktable according to claim 6, is made from weather resistant materials.
8. A worktable according to claim 6, has a non-slip material on the work surface.
