Luminaire with tiltable photovoltaic panel

Abstract

The luminaire 200, particularly for use as a streetlight, comprises a light source coupled to a body 214, and a photovoltaic panel hingeably couplable to the body by a coupling 230a, 230b so as to be tiltable relative to the body. The coupling may permit a tilt of the panel relative to the body to be adjusted to a selected angle (e.g., 5 to 60 degrees). There panel may be retainable at the selected angle, e.g., by an adjustable stay 225a, 225b. There may be four stays 225a–225d. The panel may comprise multiple coupling points for receiving a stay. There may be a cover and / or a spacer to inhibit ingress of detritus between the body and the panel. The panel may be couplable in multiple different directions. Multiple edges of the panel may each comprise a respective coupling or pair of couplings, e.g., with a respective pair of couplings either side of each corner of the panel. [Figure 10]
