A hand tool

Abstract

The pliers type hand tool (10, Figure 1) includes a first arm 12 having a handle end 12b and a gripping end 12a and a second arm 14 having a handle end 14b and a gripping end 14a. The two arms are pivotably linked to one another at a fulcrum point 16. The arms are connected between the respective handle ends and gripping ends, to form a handle section and a gripping section at respective sides of the fulcrum. Each of the gripping ends of the respective arms is provided with at least one gripping element 34 that is rotatable with respect to the respective gripping end. The tool comprises at least three gripping elements. Each gripping end may have at least two gripping elements. Each gripping element may rotate about its own pivot point (28, Figure 3) or along a curvilinear path 36, with each moving independently of the other elements. Each gripping end may be provided with a rotatable grip body 22, the gripping elements rotatably connected to each grip body by a pivot point 20 or a curvilinear connection 24. The fulcrum may be adjustable to widen or narrow the space between the gripping ends. [Figure 2]
