Abstract
The article of the present design (hereinafter referred to as the "Article") is a tank for a rocket engine for storing oxidizer or fuel for the rocket engine. When storing oxidizer in the Article, some oxidizers, such as nitrous oxide, generate high vapor pressure (up to 7 MPa) at room temperature, placing the tank under significant pressure. Therefore, the design must be carefully designed to ensure sufficient strength. The size of the Article is adjusted appropriately to match the size of the rocket engine, but it is generally expected that the tank will be used with an inner diameter ranging from approximately 10 cm to 50 cm. Furthermore, the Article is preferably made of metal, carbon material, or reinforced resin to withstand the pressure of the oxidizer or fuel. The Article is broadly composed of an outer shell 100, a fuel or oxidizer storage section 200, a columnar section 300, a rocket engine storage section 400, and a support section 500 (see Reference Figure 1). The support section 500 can be provided with appropriate bolt holes to function as a flange for securing the rocket engine. A rocket engine can be stored in the hollow portion inside the tank (storage portion 400 for the rocket engine). The total length of the rocket engine to be stored can be freely set, and can be the same as the total length of the hollow portion inside the tank of the present design, or it can be shorter or longer than the total length of the hollow portion. A flange 410 for fixing the rocket engine can be provided on the inside of the columnar portion 300 as needed, and by adjusting the attachment position of the flange 410 for fixing the rocket engine, rocket engines of various lengths can be fixed from above (see Reference Figure 2).
